Cesar Sayoc, mail bombing suspect, arrested in Florida: Everything we know so far
A suspect who terrorized prominent Democratic political figures across the nation with suspicious packages containing “potentially destructive devices” was arrested Friday morning, multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News.
The person in custody was revealed to be Cesar Sayoc, a 56-year-old who lived in Aventura, Florida. Sayoc was arrested at an auto parts store in nearby Plantation.
‘Americans Must Unify’: Trump Speaks After Arrest of Mail Bombing Suspect
President Donald Trump on Friday called for unity after the arrest of a suspect in the string of mail bombs sent to prominent Democrats.
“I am pleased to inform you that law enforcement has apprehended the suspect and taken him into custody,” Trump said to cheers at the 2018 Young Black Leadership Summit at the White House.
Twitter ignored threat to political strategist from alleged mail bomb suspect, she says
After the suspect in the mail bomb case allegedly threatened her in a tweet earlier this month, frequent Fox News guest and Democratic political strategist Rochelle Ritchie reported the harassment to Twitter — but the social media giant reportedly dismissed her complaint, saying no rules were violated.
A Twitter account believed to belong to the suspect, Cesar Sayoc, tweeted at Ritchie on Oct. 11, identifying himself as being a Native American and warning her to “hug your loved ones real close.”

Members of a Florida high school football team were terrified when a former student reportedly pulled a gun on them while they were praying near the school’s entrance.
Police said players from Palm Beach Lakes High School were praying at about 3:15 p.m. Monday by a tree near an exit of the school when a silver four-door car headed toward them.
Kroger grocery store gunman tried to enter predominantly black church before shooting, police say
A gunman who opened fire and killed two people at a Kentucky Kroger’s earlier this week tried to get inside a predominantly black church, police said Thursday.
Gregory Bush, a 51-year-old white man with a history of violence and mental illness, “appeared to try to gain access” to First Baptist Church in Jeffersontown before shooting and killing two African-Americans at the grocery store, police chief Sam Rogers said.
South Dakota to execute inmate on Monday for guard’s slaying
When South Dakota executes an inmate Monday for killing a prison guard during a 2011 escape attempt, it will be the state’s fourth execution since it reinstituted the death penalty in the late 1970s.
Rodney Berget, 56, admitted his role in the slaying of Ronald “R.J.” Johnson, who was beaten with a pipe and his head covered in plastic wrap. Johnson, a veteran guard of nearly 24 years, died on his 63rd birthday.

Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs got into a heated debate Thursday night with National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd over border patrol’s ability to stop the migrant caravan headed to the southern border.
Judd argued that border patrol cannot physically stop the caravan at the border, and must wait until they cross illegally and then apprehend them. Current “catch and release” policies will allow the immigrants to be released into the country, Judd explained, and the only real way to stop the caravan is to allow border patrol to hold its members pending their asylum status.WATCH:
The Latest: Migrants in smaller caravan detained in Mexico

Mexican authorities are cracking down on smaller groups of migrants trying to catch up with the main caravan.
On Friday they detained a group of about 300 migrants who crossed the Guatemala-Mexico border at Ciudad Hidalgo and were walking along a highway to the city of Tapachula.

On Thursday, nearly three weeks after Kavanaugh’s confirmation, NBC News published an article headlined, “New questions raised about Avenatti claims regarding Kavanaugh,” that detailed “inconsistencies” with Swetnick’s claims.
In the article, NBC News admitted the unidentified woman repudiated the sworn statement Avenatti provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee on her behalf to corroborate Swetnick’s claims.
GOP governor’s unusual ad depicts wedding between Illinois Dems, pronounces state
The midterm ad wars keep getting stranger.
Illinois Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner has an ad out this week depicting a mock wedding between Democratic rival J.B. Pritzker and state House Speaker Michael Madigan.
The 30-second TV ad, titled “Unholy Union,” features an officiator and stand-ins for Pritzker and Madigan at the altar.
The officiator begins, “Repeat after me: I, Mike Madigan, take you, J.B. Pritzker, as my unlawful partner in destruction — to raise property taxes, corrupt government and bankrupt Illinois’ future.”
Report: Google’s Andy Rubin Emailed Woman: ‘You Are My Property, and I Can Loan You to Other People’
A report from the New York Times titled “How Google Protected Andy Rubin, the ‘Father of Android’” recently outlined how the progressive tech giant Google protected three executives that were accused of sexual misconduct for more than a decade.
The report from the New York Times also gives further insight into Rubin’s sexual proclivities due to a civil suit filed by his ex-wife. The NYT report states:
Facebook removes accounts tied to Iran
Facebook said Friday it shut down 82 accounts, pages and groups exhibiting “coordinated inauthentic behavior” that originated in Iran.
The social media platform, which established a “war room” Opens a New Window. to monitor posts before the midterm elections, said a manual review by its team linked the accounts to Iran and discovered some overlap with Iran-linked accounts removed in August.
The administrators and owners of the accounts shut down on Friday pretended to be U.S. or U.K. citizens.

The freedom of speech does not extend to include defaming the prophet of Islam, the European Court of Human rights ruled Thursday.
The Strasbourg-based ECHR ruled that insulting Islamic prophet Muhammad “goes beyond the permissible limits of an objective debate” and “could stir up prejudice and put at risk religious peace.”
Freed Japanese journalist held by Al Qaeda says it was 3 years of ‘hell’
A Japanese journalist freed from captivity in Syria after being kidnapped by an Al Qaeda branch opened up about the 40 months of “hell” he endured.
Jumpei Yasuda arrived home in Japan Thursday after he was kidnapped in 2015 by al-Nusra Front. The group changed its name to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, NPR reported.
Yasuda described the years in captivity as “hell” and said he was kept in a tiny cell and tortured. He said there was a period of time when he was not allowed to bathe for eight months.
5 killed, hundreds injured in latest Gaza border protests
ISRAEL-GAZA BORDER – Five Palestinians died and hundreds more were injured after protests erupted for the 31st Friday in a row along the Gaza border with Israel.
According to the Israeli Defense Force, 16,000 people gathered along the fence with Israel. Some threw firebombs and grenades, while the Israelis responded with live ammunition.
“IDF troops operated in the face of terror and are determined to continue defending Israeli civilians,” The IDF said in a statement.
