Schools BUCKLE under migrant strain and extra $2 billion price tag

‘Unchecked illegal immigration is having an impact on families across the country, and is being felt acutely by children in public schools,’ Burke and Ries told DailyMail.com in an email.

US Customs and Border Protection says it encountered 145,474 children in the 2023 financial year — including both those who crossed the southern border alone, and those with adult relatives or friends.

At an average national education $16,345 cost per student, that adds up to more than $2 billion per year, the researchers warned.

In four key states — California, New York, Arizona, and Texas — the cost of educating only the unaccompanied children who were sent to sponsors in those states tallied up to nearly $750 million, they said.

But costs alone did not reveal the full toll on America’s public schools, the researchers said.

Some schools have kicked out students to turn classrooms and gyms into shelters for migrant influxes to such cities as New York.

California Violated the Second Amendment by Disarming People Based on Nullified Convictions

(Lex Villena/Adam Parent)

The state of California employed Kendall Jones as a correctional officer for 29 years and as a firearms and use-of-force trainer for 19 years.

But in 2018, when Jones sought to renew the certificate of eligibility required for firearms instructors, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) informed him that he was not allowed to possess guns under state law because of a 1980 Texas conviction for credit card abuse. Jones committed that third-degree felony in Houston when he was 19, and his conviction was set aside after he completed a probation sentence.

According to the DOJ, that did not matter: Because of his youthful offense, which Jones said involved a credit card he had obtained from someone who falsely claimed he was authorized to use it, the longtime peace officer was permanently barred from owning or possessing firearms in California.

That application of California law violated the Second Amendment, a federal judge ruled this week in Linton v. Bonta, which also involves two other similarly situated plaintiffs.

Elon Musk says Grok will soon be able to read the omnibus bills Congress likes to make and summarize them so politicians can’t hide stuff from us

Since no one in DC wants to let you know what Congress is voting on until after the vote, and since our corporate press is too lazy and complicit to worry about it, Elon Musk is stepping up to the plate.

Grok, the AI on X, is being outfitted so that it can read, comprehend, and explain the 1,000-page bills that Congress seems to love because it allows them to hide a TON of pork.

Menendez co-defendant pleads guilty to Mercedes-Benz bribe, obstruction of justice

(AP Photo/Seth Wenig)

A New Jersey businessman pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court on Friday for his role in bribing Senator Robert Menendez, the disgraced Democratic politician accused by federal prosecutors of a far-reaching corruption scheme, according to court documents.

Jose Uribe, a former insurance broker and a co-defendant alongside Menendez, pleaded guilty to seven counts including conspiracy to commit bribery, honest services wire fraud and obstruction of justice. He was accused of giving Nadine Menendez, the senator’s wife and co-defendant, a Mercedes-Benz convertible in exchange for her husband’s efforts to thwart an insurance fraud probe against the businessman.

Uribe also pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice after he falsely told prosecutors that the payments he made towards the car were a loan. According to his plea agreement, Uribe will cooperate with federal prosecutors in their case against the senator, his wife and the three remaining co-defendants, all of whom have pleaded not guilty.

Reps. Loudermilk and Johnson announce release of 5,000 hours of Jan. 6 footage following arrest of Blaze Media’s Steve Baker

House Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced Friday the release of 5,000 hours of CCTV footage of the Jan. 6, 2021, protests.

This release coincides with Blaze Media investigative journalist Steve Baker’s FBI-compelled surrender in Dallas over his Jan. 6 reporting.

According to the Republican congressmen, this release is but a trickle compared to the coming flood, as far more footage will be released in the coming weeks and months. Additionally, at the direction of Johnson, faces will not be blurred in the footage in the interest of “getting this work completed as responsibly and efficiently as possible.”

Already, the footage Loudermilk made available to Steve Baker has served to greatly undermine the Jan. 6 narrative advanced by Democratic lawmakers and their allies in the media.

Videos have been uploaded and now appear on the House Subcommittee on Oversight’s Rumble page. Subsequent releases will similarly be reviewed to ensure that footage does not contain sensitive security information.

Appeals court ruling that vacates Capitol rioter’s sentence could impact dozens of Jan. 6 cases

While a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld Larry Brock’s conviction, the court said a judge wrongly applied an enhancement that lengthened the recommended prison sentence range under federal guidelines.

The enhancement — on the grounds that Brock’s conduct resulted in “substantial interference with the administration of justice” — has been applied in more than 100 other Jan. 6 defendants’ cases, said Patricia Hartman, a spokesperson for the Washington’s U.S. attorney’s office.

If the ruling stands, those defendants who have not already completed their prison terms may push for new sentences.

Joe Biden got $40K from China funds, brother James admits in bombshell impeachment interview

First brother James Biden confirmed during his impeachment inquiry testimony that a $40,000 check made out to former Vice President Joe Biden in 2017 used funds James received from a Chinese government-linked company — while James also revealed he received overseas income as recently as last year.

James, 74, insisted that he didn’t believe the company, CEFC China Energy, was controlled by Beijing — claiming that “I just misspoke” when telling the IRS in a 2022 interview that first son Hunter Biden, who was partnering with his uncle, had described CEFC chairman Ye Jianming as a “protégé” of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“Where did you believe the source of the money that was going into [Hunter Biden’s company] Owasco, prior to being sent to you, was coming from?” an investigator asked James during the Feb. 21 interview.

Miami Beach Sets Tough New Rules For Spring Break To Avoid Repeat Of 2023 Chaos

(AP Photo/Alan Diaz, File)

Commissioner David Suarez said: ‘We are shutting it down. We really mean it this time. We are not taking half-measures. We really are doing everything we can to end Spring Break.’

Commissioner Alex Fernandez delivered a similar strong message, saying: ‘We’re shutting the door on spring break once and for all. Lawlessness will not be tolerated in Miami Beach.

The decision follows the tumultuous Spring Break in 2023, marked by two fatal shootings, nearly 500 arrests, the seize of more than 100 firearms, and numerous police clashes and brawls.

“Fauci Is GUILTY!” Rand Paul On Lab Leak Cover-Up, Vaccines & Fauci – PREVIEW #316

Today, we had the privilege of speaking to Senator Rand Paul about his new book: ‘The Great Covid Cover-Up.’

As we all know, Senator Rand Paul has been at odds with Anthony Fauci from the beginning. As one of the few leaders who dared to challenge “America’s Doctor,” Senator Rand Paul, a physician himself, has been vocal about his concerns.

His book, ‘Deception,’ serves as an indictment of the catastrophic failures of the public health bureaucracy during the pandemic. Additionally, we asked him about the potential of him becoming the Minority Leader in the Senate.

The hypocrisy: NY AG Letitia James’ $384,495 campaign funds for her lifestyle

When Mel Witte, a political scientist and small business owner, was asked to look into Letitia James’ financials last week, she really wasn’t expecting to find much. As you probably know, James is the Attorney General of New York who just secured a $454 million judgment against Donald Trump.

James was elected as the NY AG in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Prior to that, James was the NYC “public advocate” for four years and a NYC city council member for eight years. Prior to elected office, she was a public defender for Legal Aid with a modest salary.

In other words, Letitia James is a lifelong public servant, and other than a mishap in the 2010s where she neglected to list the Brooklyn brownstone she owns and rents out on her financial disclosure forms, she hasn’t had any public scandals.

With that being said, Witte was blown away by what she found.

12 Years: The Legacy of Andrew Breitbart Continues

Every year on this day, we honor and celebrate the life of Andrew Breitbart, who passed away 12 years ago today. Two years ago, we put together a video tribute that brought together so many in the conservative movement who were influenced by the original fighter — the man who taught us all how to walk toward fire. As Sen. Marco Rubio states in the tribute, Andrew “empowered an entire new generation of American leaders in every walk of life, who, whether they know it or not, are following in his footsteps.”

At this moment in history, when the left is using every tool at its disposal to fundamentally change America from the ground up, it’s amazing to look back at some of the clips of Andrew in this tribute and realize that he predicted practically all of it over a decade ago.

Please take a few minutes to hear his words that always proved to be prescient, insightful, and entertaining, as well as the words of so many conservative thought leaders who were influenced by Andrew, who was the Happy Warrior.

Exclusive — MTG: ‘Get Ready’ for Democrats to Launch a 2024 Russian Disinfo Hoax

(AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta)

Prominent Democrats recently demanded the Justice Department probe GOP lawmakers for calling for an investigation into an FBI confidential human source (CHS), Alexander Smirnov, who alleged a Biden bribe.

In February, the special counsel investigating Hunter Biden arrested the FBI’s CHS for lying about the alleged bribe.

  • “DOJ must investigate whether and when Grassley, Comer or Jordan knew that Smirnov was spreading Russian disinformation,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) posted on X. “Comer and Jordan clearly will be conspiring with Putin to interfere in the election if they continue with this bogus impeachment.”
  • “It’s very clear that they’ve all been dupes to a Russian disinformation propaganda effort” Democrat House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) claimed.

Citing Democrats’ comments, Greene explained the hoax would be designed to fit the media’s narrative to both attack former President Donald Trump and protect the Biden family:

CIA gave highly classified intelligence to journos to fight a PR war against anti-Ukraine Republicans in Congress…

There’s a common misconception that the CIA’s job is to protect the US from foreign dangers. That’s a cute idea, but it’s not true. Obviously, the CIA has morphed into a law unto itself, and having a federal agency that operates outside of Congressional oversight cannot be allowed in the United States.

Now, we’re learning that the CIA has been sharing top-secret intel with select journalists as part of a PR battle against GOP members in Congress pushing to cut back on Ukraine war funding. It’s like the CIA has gone full throttle against Republican lawmakers, once again proving US intelligence is weaponized and being used against anybody who dissents from the regime’s approved policies.

According to Mike Benz, this is the key paragraph from the New York Times CIA Ukraine piece that reveals, explicitly, why the CIA hand-selected the NYT to publish highly classified intelligence and invited hand-selected NYT journalists onto a secret CIA base: It was to pressure Republicans in Congress to keep funding Ukraine.

Mike appeared on Fox News radio and discussed three key points regarding the Ukraine/New York Times bombshell:

Texas Panhandle Wildfire Claims 2nd Life, Largest Fire in State’s History, 2nd Largest in U.S.

AP Photos and Facebook

The Smokehouse Creek Wildfire in the Texas Panhandle claimed the life of a second victim on Thursday.

What is now the second-largest fire in U.S. history has consumed approximately 1.1 million acres — an area larger than the state of Rhode Island — and is less than five percent contained at last report.

On Friday, Forest Service officials say that favorable fire weather conditions will return to the Texas Panhandle region. Warmer temperatures and sustained winds of 20-30 miles per hour with gusts reaching 60-70 miles per hour could force burned hot spots to reignite. Additional fires could also break out in these conditions, the report states.

Texas A&M Forest Service Fire Chief Wes Moorehead told MSN that Texans should refrain from activities that could ignite new fires. He pledged that the tireless efforts of firefighters would continue unabated.

The Background to the War in Ukraine

Everyone knows that the Ukraine conflict did not start in 2022 but instead in 2014 at least. Even Western countries admit this.

The treaty Britain signed with Ukraine on 12 January 2024 refers in the opening words to “Russia’s unprovoked attacks on Ukraine since 2014”.

The letter sent by the Dutch Foreign and Defence Ministers to Parliament on 23 February, outlining the very similar security agreement to be signed by the Netherlands and Ukraine, says that “Russia’s war of aggression has been going on for more than 10 years.”

The decision to engineer regime change was taken by the Americans.  No sooner had Yanukovich reneged on his signature in late November 2013 than the hundreds of Ukrainian NGOs funded by the National Endowment of Democracy, George Soros’ Open Society Foundation and the EU were activated.

Their members and friends took to the streets.  Maidan square in central Kiev soon became controlled by violent and sinister armed thugs who attacked the police.

Blaze News investigative writer Steve Baker — who’s been reporting on January 6 — handcuffed, charged

Image source: X video screenshots via @glennbeck (left), @theblaze (right)

Baker learned of the charges for the first time Friday and earlier this week told Blaze News that the powers that be wouldn’t tell his attorney about the charges because they believed Baker will post them on social media.

Baker’s Dallas attorney, James Lee Bright, added to Blaze News that withholding the nature of the charges against his client was a “really unusual” move.

Bright told Blaze News that he’s “disturbed” about what’s happening with his client, especially given that Baker has been “in full compliance” all this time. Bright also said the federal government “three-plus years later going after people who were legitimate functioning journalists that day” appears designed to have an “absolute chilling effect.”

California could send cash to residents with disabilities to be more ‘inclusive’ amid billion-dollar deficit

Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a growing deficit in his state. (Tayfun Coskun)

Millions of Golden State residents with disabilities could qualify for a new savings account with a one-time payment of at least $250 ready to spend if a bill introduced this week by Democratic state Sen. Josh Newman becomes law.

The liberal state would expand its existing California Achieving a Better Life Experience (CalABLE) under Senate Bill 1362. The bill, which could cost millions of dollars, is sponsored by state Treasurer Fiona Ma.

CalABLE is the state’s savings and investment program for individuals with disabilities. It currently has more than 10,000 accounts and more than $120 million in assets. Officials estimate it only accounts for less than 1% of the state’s population.
