Principal Economist at Federal Reserve: Powell’s Legacy is “Someone Who Held The Line Against Trump”
NSIDE THE FEDERAL RESERVE: Hidden Camera captures Principal Economist @federalreserve talking about Jerome Powell’s legacy as “somebody who held the line against like, Trump.” The influential agency responsible for maintaining a stable monetary system appears to not just be establishing interest rates, but to be setting policies for desired social outcomes.
“Under Powell, the Fed has changed to think about equity issues, like racial issues, think about wealth inequality as part of the mandate, as part of the things we are following. Think about climate change.” Aurel Hizmo, Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve, who prior to working at the Fed was an Assistant Professor @NYUStern and received his PhD in Economics from @DukeU, helps write speeches for Federal Reserve Board Chair Jerome Powell for the Federal Open Market Committee.

Border Patrol agents continuing to apprehend violent criminals, gang members

Border Patrol agents are continuing to apprehend violent criminals and gang members who are nearly all military age foreign nationals who entered the country illegally.
In about the past month, highlighted arrests of foreign nationals entering the country are some of the most violent criminals, including known gang members coming from Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Venezuela, Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens notes.
Recent arrests made in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection El Paso Sector, which includes two west Texas counties and all of New Mexico, include individuals with a long list of violent crimes.
Combined, violent criminal histories of those arrested include child molestation, rape of a child, sexual assault of a child, aggravated assault, rape, murder, manufacture/trafficking of firearms and ammunition and theft, among others.
Many have tattoos of images of “La Santa Muerte,” or the “Saint of Death,” and other images of violence, death and gang affiliations. Those who worship Santa Muerte believe she brings “Santísima Muerte,” or the “holiest death,” and are reportedly involved in ritualistic killings, according to the FBI,
The Center Square has reported. One recent arrest of an alleged Mexican gang assassin in El Paso was known “for her extreme brutality such as dismembering bodies, removing hearts, and placing the hearts in front of ‘Sante Muerte’ altars and statues.”
Trump: Stormy Daniels Admitted in ’18 ‘It Never Happened’

Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social on Wednesday sharing the note from Stormy Daniels in 2018 stating that she never had sexual relations with the former president and was never paid hush money.
“Look what was just found!” Trump wrote in attaching a document to the post. “Will the fake news report it?”
The attached note, with a header “Official Statement of Stormy Daniels” and a date of January 30, 2018, said, “I am not denying this affair because I was paid ‘hush money,’ as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened
Speaker Johnson Says 16 Million Illegal Immigrants Entered America Under Biden’s Watch

Mr. Johnson made the remarks while speaking at a press conference on Capitol Hill on April 10, during which he announced plans for a vote later in the day on a resolution condemning the Biden administration’s “open border” policies.
“Since Joe Biden went into the Oval Office, it began on day one, they began to open that border wide,” the speaker said.
He noted that the Biden administration had taken over 60 specific executive actions and agency actions to “open the border wide and send the welcome message to everybody around the globe, including violent criminals and terrorists and foreign nationals … coming here to do us harm.”
Biden Weighs Australia Request to Drop Julian Assange Prosecution

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who has long expressed opposition to the Wikileaks founder’s detention, in February backed a parliamentary motion calling for the return of Assange, an Australian citizen, to Australia.
“We are considering it,” Biden told a reporter who asked if he had a response to Australia’s request to end Assange’s prosecution.
Barry Pollack, a lawyer for Assange, called Biden’s comments encouraging. Three weeks earlier, Pollack had said Assange’s legal team saw no indication of resolution to U.S. charges against him.
“It is encouraging that President Biden has confirmed that the United States is considering dropping its case against Julian Assange,” Pollack said in an email.

Father sentenced in Germany for attempted murder for injecting mercury into his daughter’s foot

A court in Germany on Wednesday sentenced a 30-year-old man to 13 years in prison for attempted murder for injecting mercury into his 1-year-old daughter’s foot. The man’s girlfriend was sentenced to 12 years in prison for taking part in the crime.
The German news agency dpa reported that the man, from the small town of Springe near the city of Hannover, wanted to take revenge on the child’s mother, who had left him shortly after the girl’s birth.
According to the indictment, the father and his new girlfriend, knew the poison would not lead directly to death and had wanted to inflict particularly severe pain on the toddler.
After the injection, the daughter got a severe infection in her foot and a rash all over her body. The mercury in her body was only found by chance during a third surgery related to the poisoning, dpa reported.

After Promising Not To, The IRS Army Democrats Expanded Is Targeting The Middle Class

According to a new audit of the agency, as of just less than a year ago, 63 percent of new IRS audit inquiries were to middle-income earners who made less than $200,000.
“Only a small overall share reached the very highest earners, while 80% of audits covered filers earning less than $1 million,” the Wall Street Journal editorial board reported last week. “Don’t forget to save those charitable-giving receipts.”
According to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, job applications to the IRS fell “far below” recruitment goals. The apparent staffing shortage might frustrate Washington tax collectors while easing anxiety among conservative groups routinely targeted by the federal tax agency.
Last spring, Indiana Republican Sen. Mike Braun reintroduced the “Don’t Weaponize the IRS Act” to codify Trump-era rules aimed at preventing the IRS from discriminating against groups that apply for tax-exempt status based on political ideology.

Former President Trump had posted on Truth Social that the GOP should “kill FISA” shortly before the scheduled vote.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., applauded the 19 Republicans who voted to block the bill from advancing.

New Study: Abortion Increases Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases

These findings are among a growing body of medical literature linking abortion to reduced cardiovascular health, including another U.S. study reporting a fivefold increased risk of death from cerebrovascular diseases within six years of an abortion.
Another study found an 18% elevated risk of CVD following abortion or miscarriage that persisted for over twelve years.
This latest study examined medical records for over one million Medicaid-eligible women between 1999 and 2014 to detect treatments for CVD within six months of their first live birth. The researchers divided women into five groups.
The greatest difference was observed as a 174% increased risk of CVD among women whose first diagnosis of CVD occurred after their abortion or miscarriage and before their first live birth.

Democrat congresswoman suggests black people be exempt from paying taxes, “Reparations make sense”

Texas Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has suggested that black Americans should be exempt from paying taxes as a form of reparations. However, she acknowledges that this proposal may not be effective as many poorer black individuals “aren’t really paying taxes in the first place.”
During her interview with “The Black Lawyers Podcast,” Crockett expressed her support for the idea of making black people tax-exempt, a proposal she heard from an unnamed celebrity.
She believes that this could be a way to put money back into the pockets of black Americans, although she also acknowledged that it might not be as objectionable to some as “actually giving out dollars.”

Alleged Islamic State Members Arrested in Germany, Accused of Keeping Child Sex Slaves

The man and the woman, identified only as Twana H.S. and Asia R.A. in line with German privacy rules, were arrested in Bavaria on Tuesday, federal prosecutors said in a statement. They are accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, along with membership in a terrorist organization.
The suspects were married and were members of IS in Iraq and Syria between October 2015 and December 2017, prosecutors said. They allegedly kept a five-year-old Yazidi girl as a slave starting in late 2015 and a 12-year-old from October 2017.
Prosecutors allege that the man raped both girls repeatedly and that the woman prepared the room and put make-up on one of the girls.
Last month, a German federal court rejected an appeal by a German convert to Islam against her 14-year sentence for allowing a 5-year-old Yazidi girl she and her husband enslaved when they were IS members in Iraq to die of thirst in the sun.
Migrants Make Up Nearly Six in Ten Violent Crime Suspects in Germany

Non-German foreigners make up a disproportionate number of suspected criminals and nearly 60 per cent of violent crime suspects, despite making up just 14.6 per cent of the population, statistics released by the Federal Criminal Police Office on Tuesday revealed.
According to the data, foreigners without a German passport represented 111,517 suspects alleged of violent crimes out of the total 190,605 suspects for the country as a whole, or 58.5 per cent, broadcaster NTV reports.
The figures also showed that while the number of suspected German violent offenders rose by 2.2 per cent over the previous year, the number of non-German suspected violent offenders increased by 14.5 per cent, contributing to an overall rise of 8.6 per cent in violent crime reports over the previous year and the highest level since 2007.
Reports of theft also saw an increase of 10.7 per cent over the previous year, with non-Germans accounting for 187,000 out of the total 424,000 suspected thieves.
Donald Trump Calls to ‘Kill FISA’ as Speaker Johnson Moves to Enable Deep State Surveillance

“KILL FISA, IT WAS ILLEGALLY USED AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHERS. THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN!!! DJT,” the former president wrote.
Johnson plans to hold a vote that would reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a controversial surveillance law that is meant to target foreign adversaries; however, it often surveils American citizens’ private communications.
The House on Wednesday will debate and vote on the rule for how the chamber will vote on the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act (RISAA), a bill aimed at reauthorizing Section 702.
Privacy advocates on both sides of the aisle, such as Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Ranking Member Jerry Nadler (D-NY) want a warrant requirement attached to the bill.

Sen. Rand Paul Challenges Sen. McConnell to a Debate Regarding His ‘Ukraine First Policy’

“Mitch McConnell has pledged to fight ‘GOP isolationism’ in the remainder of his career,” Paul wrote. “I doubt that his self-appointed quest will improve his support among Kentucky voters. In fact, McConnell has the lowest approval rating of any federally elected official ever!”
Paul went on to reference how a poll from Monmouth University conducted between November 3 and December 4, 2023, found that McConnell had a six percent approval rating and a 60 percent disapproval rating among Americans.
“Anytime he wants to debate his Ukraine first policy with me in Kentucky, bring it on,” Paul continued, adding that the people of Kentucky “know that McConnell is not fiscally conservative.”
During an interview on WHAS, McConnell admitted to host Terry Meiner that he was “particularly involved in actually fighting back against the isolationist movement” in the Republican Party.
New State Department diversity chief believes US is a ‘failed historical model’ with a ‘colonizing past’

Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced last week the appointment of Zakiya Carr Johnson as their chief diversity and inclusion officer. Blinken touted Carr Johnson for bringing “expertise and a fresh perspective on how we build a workforce that reflects America.”
Carr Johnson previously served as then-President Barack Obama’s senior adviser and director of the first Race, Ethnicity and Social Inclusion Unit at the State Department.
In March 2018, Carr Johnson herself championed the critical race theory ideology. “I learned… to demand intersectionality in all spaces,” she said in a video posted to her Facebook page.
In another Facebook post, Carr Johnson’s Odara Solutions complained that female-directed diversity initiatives allow too many White women to advance, purportedly “at the expense of women of color.”
