Bangladesh Orders Internet Blackout Amid Student Protests
In Bangladesh, authorities have implemented a sweeping internet blackout as student-led demonstrations intensify, demanding changes to the public sector employment quotas.
The focus of the protests is a contentious policy reserving a third of government roles for family members of the veterans of the 1971 War of independence. This week, escalating tensions saw protestors ransack the BTV state broadcaster’s headquarters in Dhaka, resulting in significant damage and numerous casualties.
According to AFP, the ongoing conflicts have already claimed the lives of at least 32 individuals.
The situation deteriorated notably on Thursday when confrontations between protestors and law enforcement resulted in 17 fatalities. Amid the chaos, many were reportedly trapped inside the BTV offices following the protesters’ aggressive acts.
To regain control and mitigate the spread of what it views as potential misinformation, the Bangladeshi government has completely cut off internet and telephone services across the nation.
This drastic measure aligns with strategies observed in other South Asian countries under similar circumstances. Aman in the U.S. illegally has been accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and attempting to rape her after she refused to get back together with him.
On June 23, Rene Cervantes-Medina — a 37-year-old Mexican national living in Lehi, Utah, which is about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City — invited his live-in partner to go to the bank so that he could repay her some money he owed her, according to a probable cause statement shared with Blaze News.
When she got into the vehicle, however, Cervantes-Medina reportedly locked the doors and — instead of driving to the bank — headed for American Fork Canyon, the statement said.
During the drive, Cervantes-Medina told the woman he wanted to get back together with her, but she refused, the statement said. Fearing for her safety, she reportedly hopped out of the car, screamed for help, and attempted to flag down a passing motorist, but the suspect managed to restrain the victim, warning her “that if she continued to scream he would throw her into the canal they were standing next to,” the statement said.
Cervantes-Medina apparently continued to drive the woman farther up the mountain road, repeating that he wanted to get back together and that they were going to have sex that day “the easy way or the hard way,” according to the probable cause statement. Border czar Kamala Harris has not spoken with past 2 Border Patrol chiefs
Vice president and so-called border czar Kamala Harris has not spoken with the past two U.S. Border Patrol chiefs, a new report from NewsNation says.
On Monday, current Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens confirmed to NewsNation that he has not spoken with Harris since Biden appointed him to be the new chief a year ago.
That statement mirrors comments Owens’ predecessor, Raul Ortiz, made in a “60 Minutes” interview back in March. “I’ve never had one conversation with the president — or the vice president, for that matter,” Ortiz said at the time.
Ortiz served as Border Patrol chief from August 2021 until his retirement last July.
Since Biden took office, illegal border crossings have skyrocketed. In the last year of the Trump administrations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection recorded fewer than 500,000 border encounters, but in 2021, the number more than tripled to 1.7 million.
In 2022, the number rose to 2.4 million. Another 2.5 million border encounters were recorded in 2023….
Kamala Harris is not your wacky aunt, she’s more dangerous than Biden
Harris is now on the precipice of the presidency and Americans must know the truth.
Her greatest sin is not that she’s sometimes awkward in the way that your wacky aunt is, or even that she’s lacking in political talent.
It’s that at her core, Kamala Harris is a far-left, authoritarian demagogue.
If you want to know what her vision for the country would look like, think about a double down on Joe Biden’s failed agenda.
Or her failed home state of California, only without the balmy weather.
Under Biden, the federal government has sought to hamstring domestic energy producers to the detriment of those of us paying more at the pump.
His No. 2 would not rest until we were all even less comfortable and well-off.
In the Senate, Harris championed the farcical $10 trillion Green New Deal, which called for the total destruction of the vital fossil fuel industry that not only provides blue-collar Americans with high-paying jobs, but underwrites our high standard of living.
And that’s to say nothing of the quasi-socialist makeover of the United States economy it would kickstart.
In fact, upon further examination, Harris’ agenda better resembles Bernie Sanders’, not her boss’s.
In 2019, she not only came out in favor of a massive Medicare-for-All health care program that would come with all of the requisite rationing of care that socialized medicine consigns its users to, but even went so far as to say that she would abolish private health insurance entirely.
Harris doesn’t even balk at tax rates of up to 80%, even calling the idea “fantastic” in one appearance that saw her praise Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for “challenging the status quo.”
Her radicalism extends into the social realm as well, where she is especially prone to demagoguery…..

U.S. B-52 Bombers in ‘Historic’ NATO Flight Near Russia
Two United States long-range strategic bombers made history on Sunday by flying over one of NATO’s newest members, Finland, for the first time, then landing in Romania, as the transatlantic alliance reinforced its eastern flank against the threat from Russia.
The B-52H Stratofortress bombers departed from their home base at Barksdale in Louisiana for Bomber Task Force 24-4, the U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa announced in a statement on Sunday.
The plane is among the three operational bombers and one of the two nuclear bombers in the U.S. Air Force service. It has an unrefueled range of 8,800 miles and is capable of dropping 70,000 pounds of nuclear or conventional ordnance, including bombs and missiles.
Amelia Smith, an open-source intelligence analysis, estimated that the bombers used a northern entry approach to Europe, flying over Canada and Greenland before reaching the Barents Sea.
The bombers were intercepted by two Russian fighter jets over the Barents Sea and “turned away,” Russia’s defense ministry said.
The U.S. Air Force confirmed the interception, but stressed its bombers were flying in international airspace and “did not change course due to the intercept and continued along their scheduled flight plan without incident.”
Meanwhile, the Finnish military said the B-52H flew into the Nordic country’s airspace as part of training activities. They were supported by the U.S. Air Force’s aerial refueling aircraft – two KC-135 Stratotankers and one KC-46 Pegasus.
Finnish F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets flew with the U.S. bombers to the Gulf of Finland, the easternmost arm of the Baltic Sea…..
Fear Itself: Democrats’ Favorite Strategy Caused Their Current Chaos
The last few weeks sharply remind us of the old adage – “Man Plans, and God Laughs.” In less than 30 days, the American political world has been upended by a series of shocking events most people are still trying to fully comprehend.
From a remarkably disastrous debate for President Joe Biden against former president Donald Trump, to the attempted assassination of Trump a short 16 days later, then two days after that the start of a well-organized and produced Republican convention with an injured but unbowed Trump, to the withdrawal of Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee for president, it’s safe to say none of us knows what happens next.
One thing we do know – the divisive and hateful rhetoric employed by the left against Trump and his supporters is what has fed both the unraveling of the Democratic Party and the awakening of Americans to the reality of the lies and manipulation we’ve endured since Biden took office.
There has been an effort to train us to “suspend disbelief” about Biden’s condition, what they were doing to the country, and even the specifics of who was in charge at the White House. After the assassination attempt, we were also told the Democrats would “tone down” their rhetoric against Trump.
That pledge lasted about 24 hours. Between now and November 5, no matter the Democratic nominee, they will double down on malignant identity politics and fearmongering.

We’re still stuck with Joe Biden as president for six months. He might have passed the political torch to VP Kamala Harris, but he still has control of the nuclear football. Or maybe Dr. Jill and Hunter do.
Either way, it’s a frightening message to send to the world: The US president is too cognitively impaired to run for re-election in November, but he’s staying on as commander-in-chief until January.
You can bet that leaving the president in place, despite the obvious peril to America, was part of the deal Biden struck to go quietly as Nancy Pelosi and the Obamacans ratcheted up the pain.
Of course, “working something out” for his own benefit has always been the point with Biden, whether it’s his donors providing grace-and-favor jobs at inflated prices for his wayward son and other family members, or Chinese President Xi Jinping blessing Hunter’s lucrative business venture after he flew into Beijing with Dad on Air Force Two.
Staying in the White House until Jan. 20 gives Biden plenty of time to orchestrate pardons for Hunter and his brother Jim and whomever else in the family is in legal trouble. Regardless of what he claimed before Hunter’s felony gun conviction, the pardon was always coming. No way does the family trust Cackling Kamala to do the deed.
You can bet Air Force One and Camp David will be working overtime for as many dream holidays and bucket list wishes for as many extended family members as he can squeeze in. Perhaps another ancestral trip to Ireland, or to Rome for a last blessing from his favorite pope. It will be one long victory lap.
Six months is plenty of time to burnish Biden’s legacy with the help of the so-called historians who have been wearing a hole in the carpet of his office and the compliant media who have ignored his corruption and cognitive decline for four years….

3,000 migrants leave southern Mexico on foot in a new caravan headed for the US border
About 3,000 migrants from around a dozen countries left from Mexico’s southern border on foot Sunday, as they attempt to make it to the U.S. border.
Some of the members of the group said they hoped to make it to the U.S. border before elections are held in November, because they fear that if Donald Trump wins he will follow through on a promise to close the border to asylum-seekers.
The group left Sunday from the southern Mexican town of Ciudad Hidalgo, which is next to a river that marks Mexico’s border with Guatemala.
Some said they had been waiting in Ciudad Hidalgo for weeks, for permits to travel to towns further to the north.

Rapes spike 11% in NYC amid illegal immigration crisis, limited police resources: ‘Should be a wake-up call’
New York City, a sanctuary jurisdiction for illegal aliens, has experienced an 11% increase in reported rapes this year, according to the New York Post.
The paper revealed that from January 1 through July 14, 880 rapes were reported across the city. New York Police Department data showed that over the same period the previous year, 796 rapes were reported.
In March, the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York released a statement warning that the NYPD is experiencing a staffing crisis.
PBA President Patrick Hendry told News 12, “No one is becoming an NYPD police officer right now for the long term. They’re taking it for a stepping stone to get something better – something with better salary, pensions, quality of life.”
The 10th precinct, located in Manhattan, experienced the most significant jump in reported rapes with a 300% increase. Midtown South, which covers Times Square, saw a 111% year-to-date uptick, according to NYPD stats.
While most rapists know their victims, there has been a recent increase in “stranger rapes,” the NYPD reported.
One such instance included a caught-on-camera attack on May 21 at East 152nd Street and 3rd Avenue. The assailant walked up behind a woman on the street, threw a belt around her neck, dragged her to the ground, and attacked her between two vehicles, the video showed.
Christian Inga, a 25-year-old foreign national who entered the United States illegally, was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in New York City on June 13….
Two Hostages, Including Holocaust Educator, Murdered in Gaza
Two Israeli hostages were declared Monday to have been murdered in Hamas captivity in Gaza: Alex Dancyg, 75, a Holocaust educator from Kibbutz Nir Oz; and musician Yagev Buchshtav, 35, from Kibbutz Nirim.
Dancyg was a dual Polish and Israeli citizen who had spent his life building bridges between Poles and Israeli Jews. He worked for Yad Vashem, Israel’s famous Holocaust memorial, which issued a statement mourning his death.
The circumstances of the men’s deaths are unclear. “Hamas in March claimed that Buchshtav had died due to lack of food and medication, and Dancyg had been killed by Israeli fire. The claims have not been confirmed by the IDF,” the Times of Israel noted.
Five Killed as Gunman Goes on Nursing Home Rampage in Croatia
An armed assailant entered a care home for older people in central Croatia Monday and opened fire, killing five people and wounding several others, authorities and media reports said.
The Index news portal said five people died immediately, while others were still receiving medical assistance. The suspect fled the scene, but the police soon caught him in a cafe near the facility in the town of Daruvar, the report said.
Police said they were informed after 10 a.m. Monday that a man using firearms killed and wounded several people at the nursing home. The suspect is “under police supervision,” said a statement by the regional police office…..
Report: Canadian Terror Attacker Thwarted near Gaza Border
Security in the area has been intensified since Hamas-led terrorists murdered around 20 people there during the Oct. 7 rampage in southern Israel that triggered the Gaza war.
“A suspect arrived at the entrance of Netiv HaAsara, exited his vehicle, and threatened with a knife members of the community’s rapid response team operating in the area,” the IDF later stated of the incident per the Jerusalem Post.
The knife-wielding terrorist was thwarted after the rapid response team opened fire on the suspect.
