San Francisco DA Condemned For Hiring Friend With ‘No Law Experience’ For $300K Annual Position As Crime Rate Rises

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has come under intense scrutiny and is facing accusations of nepotism for promoting a personal friend of hers to take on the position of chief of staff, making her the first individual to hold the position without obtaining any law degree.

“Nepotism is the unfair use of power in order to get jobs or other benefits for your family or friends,” according to the Collins Dictionary.

Jenkins (D-Calif.) previously hired Monifa Willis, a nursing professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 2022 to run the District Attorney’s Office’s Victim Services Division. Jenkins also later promoted her in March of this year.

According to the San Francisco Standard, Willis earns $100,000 annually from her professor job and now makes an additional $300,000 a year as Jenkins’ chief of staff, which local politicians and former employees argue is blatant nepotism.

Fox News reported that this marks the first time in the agency’s history that the role has been occupied by someone who is not a lawyer…..

Harley-Davidson slams brakes on ‘woke’ policies after sparking biker and social-media outrage

Harley-Davidson released a statement on Monday renouncing DEI and other controversial company initiatives in the wake of social-media outrage and withering pressure from longtime loyal bikers.

“It is critical to our business that we hire and retain the best talent and that all employees feel welcome,” the statement reads.

“That said, we have not operated a DEI function since April 2024, and we do not have a DEI function today. We do not have hiring quotas and we no longer have supplier diversity spend goals.”

The statement also said Harley-Davidson was reassessing employee training initiatives and sponsorships while refocusing on its most loyal customers.

“As a consumer brand, we will focus exclusively on growing the sport of motorcycling and retaining our loyal riding community, in addition to the support we already provide to first responders, active military members and veterans.”….

Adams hit with subpoenas in federal probe

New York Mayor Eric Adams | Facebook

The request for additional information from the U.S. attorney’s office, first reported by the New York Times, is the latest development in the investigation examining whether the Adams campaign conspired with the Turkish government to funnel illegal foreign donations to his election efforts.

Federal agents raided the home of Breanna Suggs in early November as part of an investigation into whether Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign conspired with a Brooklyn-based construction company to funnel foreign money into the campaign by way of a straw donor scheme. Suggs served as a chief fundraiser for Adams’s 2021 campaign.

Shortly after, FBI agents reportedly stopped Adams on the street with a search warrant for his phone and other electronic devices, which they seized and later returned to the mayor’s office.

Another Adams aide who worked as a liaison to the Turkish community, Rana Abbasova, was also hit with a search warrant by the FBI and is now cooperating with federal authorities.

The Adams campaign raised more than $8.9 million for his 2021 mayoral election, and collected more than $10 million in public funds, the largest amount of any citywide candidate in that election cycle, according to the board. He has defended Suggs as a top fundraiser for his campaign…..

US and South Korea Begin Military Drills in Show of Force Against North Korea

The United States and South Korea kicked off a major joint military exercise on Monday meant to deter growing threats from North Korea, which denounced the drills as “offensive and provocative.”

The 11-day Ulchi Freedom Shield exercise runs until Aug. 29 and includes live field maneuvers, computer simulation-based command post exercises and related civil defense drills.

The annual exercise will “reflect realistic threats across all domains such as Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s increasing missile threats, GPS jamming, cyber-attacks, and lessons learned from recent armed conflict,” both militaries said last week.

Pyongyang frequently condemns the allies’ joint drills as preparation for an invasion and maintains that its own nuclear and missile programs are a necessary form of deterrence.

On Sunday, the North’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling Ulchi Freedom Shield “the most offensive and provocative war drills for aggression in the world.”…..

DNC Adopts Party Platform That Refers to Biden’s ‘Second Term’ Several Times

(AP Photo/Susan Walsh)

“This election is a choice between two very different economic visions for America: Donald Trump, who sees the world from his country club at Mar-a-Lago; and Joe Biden, who sees it from kitchen tables in Scranton like the one he grew up around,” the platform reads.

The DNC’s Platform Committee voted on the platform shortly before President Biden dropped out of the race, which is likely the reason for the misidentifications. The DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The National Desk Monday morning.

Several Republican influencers, including spokespeople for the Trump campaign and theNational Republican Senatorial Committee, identified the issue on social media Monday.

Some concluded the dated platform actually signified Democratic disappointment with Vice President Harris.

“The DNC ditches Kamala after disastrous rollout of Soviet price controls, endorses Biden (19 times!) for a second term in the DNC platform,” Trump advisor Stephen Miller wrote on social media.

US Starts Citizenship Program for Migrant Spouses, but Some Are Left Out

As registration opened Monday for an estimated 500,000 spouses of U.S. citizens to gain legal status without having to first leave the country, Karen and Xavier Chavarria had nothing to celebrate.

Like many others, Karen left the United States voluntarily — in her case, for Nicaragua — as the price of living in the country illegally, planning to accumulate enough time away to be able reenter and reunite with her husband, Xavier, on a path to citizenship.

Joe Biden’s offer of a path to citizenship without having to first leave the country for up to 10 years is one of the biggest presidential orders to ease entry for immigrants since 2012, when the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program allowed temporary but renewable stays for hundreds of thousands of people who came to the United States as young children with their parents.

The department said Monday that 64% of potential beneficiaries are from Mexico and 20% are from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. They become eligible to remain in the United States for three years under presidential authority known as parole for a $580 fee, which includes ability to apply for work authorization, a green card and, eventually, citizenship….

Watch: Colorado Residents Sound Alarm as Venezuelan GANGS TAKE OVER Entire Apartment Complex

Coloradans have taken to social media to describe how Venezuelan gangs have completely taken over apartment facilities in Aurora and are collecting rent at the expense of the landlord, robbing stores, kidnapping and trafficking women, and threatening the lives of anyone who asks questions.

“As we speak there are two apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado that have been taken over by Venezuelan gang members. To the point where they’re talking, ‘You come around here man we’re going to take your life and we’ll take your family’s life,’” one man said on TikTok, adding he tried alerting the local police and the FBI, who told him there was nothing they could do about it because of “squatter laws.”

“These dudes are collecting rent on behalf of the landlord in the building,” he continued. “And every single time someone moves out of the apartments, they’re bringing in more Venezuelan migrants into it.”

Another resident described how the gang members are robbing local businesses, kidnapping people and engaging in sex trafficking, and how the government and law enforcement are doing nothing about it.

“Some Venezuelan gang members have taken over an apartment complex in Colorado and there is absolutely nothing the government, the police, Homeland Security, Immigration…no one is doing anything about it,” the woman said.

“I understand that they have illegal guns because they rob places, but they’re also kidnapping people, they’re robbing people, they’re sex trafficking and human trafficking in broad daylight.”

From the border to Baltimore: ICE agents arrest violent fugitives illegally in US

ICE-ERO Baltimore Fugitive Operations agents arrested and removed 19-year-old Guatemalan national Henry Argueta-Tobar, who was illegally in the country and convicted of raping a Maryland resident.U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

After illegally entering the country at the southwest border and being released by Border Patrol agents, violent criminals continue to be arrested thousands of miles north near Baltimore.

One of them was a 19-year-old Guatemalan national in the country illegally convicted of raping a Maryland resident.

Henry Argueta-Tobar illegally entered the country in El Paso, Texas, on May 21, 2019, as an unaccompanied minor. Under the Trump and other administrations, federal policy is to release into the country those claiming to be minors. Border Patrol agents transferred his custody to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which released him “on an order of recognizance.”

Last month, ICE-ERO Baltimore agents also apprehended a validated leader of the Las Colinas criminal organization based in Santa Marta, Colombia.

The 29-year-old fugitive was wanted by Columbian authorities on homicide, arms trafficking and aggravated theft charges. He was hiding out in a residence in College Park, Maryland, home to the University of Maryland, with an undergraduate and graduate enrollment of over 40,000.

ICE-ERO Baltimore agents also recently arrested a Salvadoran who fled to the U.S. to avoid a prison sentence “stemming from his conviction for attempted aggravated femicide and culpable injury.” The 57-year-old Salvadoran fugitive was arrested June 20 near his residence in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He remains in ICE custody.

His criminal record predates his illegal entry into the U.S. He was arrested and charged by Salvadoran authorities in February 2022, convicted by a court in June 2023 and sentenced to 21 years in prison. He then fled the country and illegally entered the U.S. near Rio Grande, Texas. He was then arrested by Border Patrol agents on July 1, 2023, and transferred into ICE. Roughly one month later, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services gave him a notice to appear before an immigration judge and ICE released him…..

ICE arrests gang leader wanted for 23 murders in Peru after border agents released him: ‘Significant threat’

ERO Buffalo reported that Torres-Navarro illegally entered the United States on May 16 near Roma, Texas. He was apprehended by Customs and Border Protection agents the same day but was released after being issued a notice to appear for immigration proceedings. Border Patrol agents were apparently unaware of Torres-Navarro’s criminal history in his home country.

In July, Homeland Security Investigations notified ICE that Torres-Navarro was wanted for nearly two dozen murders in Peru.

He was arrested by immigration officials on August 14 and transported to a detention facility in Batavia, New York, while he awaits immigration proceedings.

ERO Buffalo Field Office Director Thomas Brophy stated, “Gianfranco Torres-Navarro poses a significant threat to our communities, and we won’t allow New York to be a safe haven for dangerous noncitizens. Well done by our ERO Buffalo officers who brought this individual into custody.”

According to the Associated Press, Torres-Navarro’s girlfriend, Mishelle Sol Ivanna Ortíz Ubillús, was also arrested. She was described as Torres-Navarro’s lieutenant and cashier. They both reportedly fled Peru after Los Killers gang members were suspected of murdering a retired police officer and injuring a municipal employee……

DC councilman stuffed pockets with envelopes of cash in alleged bribery scheme, feds allege

The U.S. Department of Justice has released the reason Washington, D.C., city councilmember Trayon White Sr. was arrested on Sunday afternoon.

White faces a bribery charge, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Fox News. The 40-year-old who represents Ward 8 is chair of the Council’s Committee on Recreation, Libraries and Youth Affairs, which oversees several agencies including the D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), according to a DOJ press release.

“The complaint alleges that, beginning in June 2024, White corruptly agreed to accept $156,000 in cash payments in exchange for using his position as a D.C. councilmember to pressure government employees at Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) and DYRS to extend several D.C. contracts,” the release states.

The contracts, valued at $5.2 million, were for two companies to provide violence intervention services in D.C.

“White’s agreement with a confidential human source (the owner of the companies) – including the source’s payments to White of $35,000 in cash on four separate occasions (June 26, July 17, July 25, and August 9, 2024) and the source showing White a document reflecting how White’s three-percent cut was calculated based on those contracts – was captured on video,” the DOJ stated, citing the complaint.

Court docs alleged White was “corruptly” given gifts that included travel to the Dominican Republic and Las Vegas, Nevada….

Media Hide Biden-Harris’ Huge Migrant Flood in Campaign Season

ISAAC GUZMAN / AFP via Getty

The July 2024 inflow of more than 170,000 migrants is triple the number touted by  Biden’s pro-migration border chief and his media allies.

It is also four times the 40,000 illegal migrants who appeared at President Donald Trump’s southern border in July 2020.

Most of the 170,000 migrants are being welcomed into the United States under a series of recently invented and quasi-legal pathways.

That legal maneuver helps campaigning Kamala Harris and her media allies to hide most of the wealth-shifting economic migration into American’ communities, housing, schools, and workplaces….

Multiple Stabbing in Manchester Leaves One Woman Dead, Two Others with Life-Threatening Injuries

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after a multiple stabbing incident in Manchester left a woman dead and two others seriously injured late Sunday evening.

A 43-year-old woman died, and a 17-year-old girl and a 64-year-old man have been hospitalised with “life-threatening injuries” after they suffered “serious stab wounds” during an incident at a property in the Gorton area of Manchester, England.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the stabbings, which occurred around 11:20 pm on Sunday, Greater Manchester Police said.

Christian woman arrested for silent prayer receives compensation from police

In a victory against UK censorship, Isabel Vaughan-Spruce – the Christian charitable volunteer who was seen being arrested twice for praying silently in viral videos – has received a payout of £13,000 from West Midlands Police in acknowledgement of her unjust treatment, and the breach of her human rights.

With support from ADF UK, Vaughan-Spruce issued a claim against West Midlands Police for two wrongful arrests and false imprisonments; assault and battery in relation to an intrusive search of her person; and for a breach of her human rights both in respect to the arrests, and to the onerous bail conditions imposed on her.

The news comes days after reports that the Home Office will strengthen the crackdown on silent prayer near abortion facilities by expressly criminalising it in upcoming “buffer zones” legislation, set to come into force imminently.

Ministers are set to review the initial guidance published by the previous government which protected the human right to freedom of thought, reading: “Silent prayer, being the engagement of the mind and thought in prayer towards God, is protected as an absolute right under the Human Rights Act 1998 and should not, on its own, be considered to be an offence under any circumstances.”….

Madison Bergmann, teacher accused of ‘making out’ with 5th-grader, faces additional sex charges

The Wisconsin teacher busted for allegedly “making out” with an 11-year-old student in her classroom has been slapped with more charges — and could spend the rest of her life in prison, if convicted.

Madison Bergmann, 24, now faces nine additional felonies — one count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, five charges of sexual misconduct by school staff, two charges of child enticement causing mental or bodily harm, and a charge of exposing a child to harmful materials, according to an amended complaint filed last week.

The former fifth-grade teacher at River Crest Elementary School was previously charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child…..

Tennessee, Virginia Among States Joining Iowa In Legal Challenge To End California’s EV Mandate

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird has spearheaded a coalition of eight states in support of Ohio’s legal challenge against the Biden-Harris Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The lawsuit contests the EPA’s approval of California’s regulation mandating a shift to electric vehicles, effectively banning traditional gas-powered cars by 2035.

California’s regulation stipulates that by 2035, all new cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in the state must be electric. This mandate, driven by environmental goals, forces car manufacturers to phase out traditional vehicles, aligning with progressive environmental standards.

Due to California’s significant influence in the U.S. automotive market, this state-level mandate could dictate national industry standards, compelling states like Iowa to adapt to these electric vehicle norms.

As a result, American consumers might be left without the option of traditional cars, potentially driving up costs for electric vehicles and increasing the market value of used gas-powered cars due to heightened demand…..

House drops its Biden impeachment report — and it’s damning

According to the investigators’ nearly 300-page report, “overwhelming evidence demonstrates that Biden participated in a conspiracy to monetize his office of public trust to enrich his family.”

“Among other aspects of this conspiracy, the Biden family and their business associates received tens of millions of dollars from foreign interests by leading those interests to believe that such payments would provide them access to and influence with President Biden,” said the report.

Bank records reportedly show that when accounting also for the Biden family’s business associates and their companies, the international “influence peddling schemes totaled over $27 million from foreign sources” just from 2014 to 2023.

Contrary to the repeated suggestion by Biden and boosters that he had no hand in his son’s shady dealings with foreign nationals from Ukraine, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and elsewhere, the report maintains that Biden “knowingly participated in this conspiracy” — that it is “inconceivable that President Biden did not understand that he was taking part in an effort to enrich his family by abusing his office of public trust.”…..
