Report: Grand Jury Convened in Trump Assassination Attempt Investigation

This development marks a significant escalation in the investigation, signaling that criminal charges may be considered.

According to a letter obtained by Human Events, a records request made by attorney Wally Zimolong seeking information on the alleged assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was denied due to an ongoing criminal investigation.

The letter, sent by the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), stated that the requested records were “within the scope of a grand jury subpoena issued to CCAC by the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.”

The purpose of empaneling a federal grand jury is to consider whether there is sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against one or more targets. This is the first public indication that a grand jury has been convened in this district to investigate the assassination attempt on Trump.

Florida Congressman Mike Waltz has voiced skepticism about the investigation’s initial findings, particularly regarding whether Crooks acted alone.

“You can’t tell us his motive, but you could tell us he operated alone?” Waltz questioned. “You can’t get into these encrypted overseas accounts, but you can tell us he acted alone?”

As the investigation continues, the grand jury’s findings will likely play a critical role in determining whether charges will be brought against individuals connected to the attempted assassination, including potential failures by law enforcement and security agencies.

FBI Reveals New Details on Trump Assassination Attempt, Months of Planning Uncovered

The FBI has unveiled new insights into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, revealing that the assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, meticulously planned the attack over several months. The investigation, detailed in a briefing on August 28, highlights a prolonged period during which Crooks researched potential targets before settling on Trump as his primary objective.

FBI officials disclosed that Crooks had conducted over 60 online searches related to Trump and his then-political rival, President Joe Biden, before registering for a Trump rally scheduled for July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. The rally, which took place at the Butler Farm Show, became the focal point of Crooks’s planning as he identified it as a “target of opportunity.”

Kevin Rojek, the FBI’s lead official in western Pennsylvania, described Crooks’s planning as “sustained and detailed,” noting that Crooks became “hyper-focused” on the rally once it was announced.

Despite the extensive planning, the FBI has yet to determine a definitive motive for the assassination attempt, leaving questions about whether Crooks was driven by any particular political ideology…..

Businessman scammed millions as fake CIA agent, funneled money to Democrats

Key Details:

  • Gaurav Srivastava, a green card-holding Indian businessman, allegedly posed as a CIA agent to scam millions from business associates.
  • Srivastava donated over $1 million to Democratic causes and was photographed with President Biden.
  • The Biden campaign, Senate Majority PAC, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have frozen or returned Srivastava’s donations amid the FBI investigation.

Diving Deeper:

Gaurav Srivastava, an Indian businessman with ambitions of leading a clandestine military and intelligence operation, allegedly posed as a CIA agent, scamming millions of dollars from his business associates. Using this ill-gotten wealth, Srivastava made significant political donations to Democratic campaigns, securing high-profile connections, including a photo opportunity with President Joe Biden.

Srivastava, in his early 30s and a college dropout, convinced his associates that he had deep ties within the U.S. intelligence community. He teamed up with veterans of the U.S. and Australian special forces, an oil trader, and even brought on General Wesley Clark, a former NATO commander, as a paid advisor.

Srivastava’s activities raised few suspicions initially, as he moved within Washington’s elite circles, hosting events with influential think tanks and securing a platform at a star-studded event alongside singer John Legend…..

Farage Assailant Gets No Jail Time.

On Wednesday at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court, Greally was handed a six-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. The footage showed Mr. Farage shielding his face as the items struck the side of the double-decker bus. The objects reportedly made a loud noise upon impact, and Greally, who picked up the items from a nearby construction site, was quickly arrested by officers at the scene.

District Judge James Gould highlighted the premeditated nature of the offense. The court was informed that Greally had previously pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive, and insulting words and behavior with intent to cause fear. Despite having no prior criminal record and expressing remorse, Greally’s actions were deemed to have aggravated the offense due to the context of the political campaign.

In addition to the suspended sentence, Greally was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity days. He must also pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £154. Judge Gould emphasized that while political discourse should allow for challenging politicians, it should not escalate to acts of violence or intimidation. Such behavior attempts to silence opposition rather than promote free speech….

Ford joins growing push to scale back ‘woke’ DEI initiatives under pressure from conservatives

Ford said it will scale back its DEI initiatives and scrap participation in an LGBTQ-backed “corporate equality index” — joining several high-profile companies that have recently curtailed their controversial programs, according to a statement from the Detroit auto giant’s boss.

Robby Starbuck, the right-leaning influencer who has successfully mounted social media campaigns that have forced companies to abandon diversity, equity and inclusion policies, posted a statement on his X account Wednesday from Ford CEO Jim Farley announcing the shift.

Farley’s memo to staffers, which was confirmed as authentic, said that Ford would “stop participating in external culture surveys such as the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index” as well as “various ‘best places to work’ lists.”…

Attorneys General of 24 States Ask Supreme Court to Block EPA’s Methane Reduction Rule

The EPA has said the new standards are part of efforts to sharply reduce emissions of methane and “other harmful air pollution from oil and natural gas operations.”

Led by the state of Oklahoma, attorneys general from states including Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, and Virginia filed an emergency appeal to prevent the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from enforcing the rule that went into effect this year.

In their Aug. 27 filing, the states argued that while the federal government has the authority to set emissions limits, the rule outlines specific technologies, processes, and methods that the agency believes states must employ to achieve certain emission-reduction targets, among other requirements.

The “EPA did not limit itself to its statutory role for existing sources and then leave it to the States to adopt appropriate standards of performance,” they said.

Furthermore the “rule’s ‘presumptive standards’ are onerous, imposing costs on the oil and gas industries that will—as even EPA admits—inevitably be passed onto consumers across the country,” the states wrote.

The EPA’s rule gives states, along with tribes that wish to regulate existing sources, two years to develop and submit their plans for reducing methane from existing sources….

Supreme Court Refuses to Reinstate $475 Billion Student Loan Relief Program

(Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

The Supreme Court on Aug. 28 turned down President Joe Biden’s request to reinstate a $475 billion student loan relief plan weeks after an appeals court blocked the program.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh referred the application to the full court which denied it. No dissents were recorded.

The Supreme Court said it “expects that the Court of Appeals will render its decision with appropriate dispatch.” The case remains pending in the lower courts.

The SAVE plan that Education Secretary Miguel Cardona first proposed in August 2022 would reduce monthly payments for millions of eligible borrowers and accelerate loan forgiveness for others. A reported 8 million borrowers have signed up for the program…..

Veteran: DOD withholds docs on whether DEI hiring improves national security

Spc. Nicole Nicolas | DVIDS

The U.S. Department of Defense is under scrutiny for refusing to release records about exactly how spending on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion helps with national security.

The Center to Advance Security in America in May filed with the DOD a Freedom of Information Act Request, the legal pathway to obtain government documents. The FOIA sought to find out what DOD officials estimate is the real impact on national security of DEI spending, for which Congress approved $86.5 million in fiscal year 2023.

However, James Fitzpatrick, an Army Veteran who leads CASA, told The Center Square that the DOD has confirmed it received the FOIA request but still has not released any documents more than 100 days later.

“The Department of Defense has stated that diversity, equity, and inclusion is the American military’s greatest strength but has rarely detailed how,” reads the FOIA, which was obtained by The Center Square. “Given the recent hiring freeze on DEI related positions, it must follow that national security has been affected in some way. The information obtained is necessary to evaluate the impact of DEI initiatives and financing on prioritizing efforts to advance national security.”…

Man chains kids to beds and sexually assaults one for years, California officials say

Jose Centeno, 57,(Erik Castro / For The Press Democrat)

A man is going to prison after being accused of abusing his three adopted kids, California officials said. Jose Centeno, 57, of Rohnert Park, adopted siblings who were 2, 3, and 4 years old in 2006 with his wife, Gina, according to an Aug. 27 news release by the Sonoma County District Attorney.

Eventually the kids were enrolled in elementary school before being pulled out after an employee reported potential physical abuse, prosecutors said. Then, Centeno hid the kids, officials said. He told family and friends that the children were given back to the state but assured the state that the kids were still living with him and he received monthly checks until the crimes were discovered in 2020, officials said.

During the abuse, the oldest child lost consciousness and Centeno told her siblings that she’d been “sent away,” officials said. For years, one of the other children would only leave the room when Centeno would take her to another room in the home to sexually assault her, officials said.

Centeno’s wife was also charged but she died before the trial started in June, prosecutors said. The oldest daughter has not been found but officials believe she went missing sometime during 2012, officials said.

Centeno was sentenced to six consecutive sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole, three consecutive life sentences, and an additional 39 years for kidnapping for financial gain, torture and child abuse, officials said….

“Who is Running the Country?” | Glenn Beck INTERVIEWS Tulsi Gabbard

Former Democratic Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard recently exposed that she had been put on the TSA’s “Quiet Skies” watchlist, which is often used for tracking potential domestic terrorists. Now, she tells Glenn that she’s STILL on that watchlist!

Tulsi joins Glenn to discuss this, as well as her endorsement of Donald Trump. She tells Glenn that the Harris/Biden “neocon elitist warmongers” have gotten us dangerously close to war … but seem to be more focused on diversity of skin color and gender identity than diversity of thought and actual military readiness.

‘I’m going to kill you’ – Migrant with deportation order beats his ex-girlfriend for ‘wearing a skirt’ after prison release

A migrant in the French city of Caen beat his ex-girlfriend just a few weeks after being released from prison for beating her over a year ago, but this time it was over a “vulgar” photograph he saw of her in a skirt.

The migrant, who is already under a deportation order, was originally sentenced in 2023 for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Now, he has been convicted in a new trial, on Aug. 23, 2024, involving the same victim.

According to prosecutors, the man saw a photo of his ex wearing a skirt, and despite the photo predating their relationship together, he reportedly found the outfit “vulgar.” In response, he slapped her and threw a phone at her head, causing a hematoma on her temple which left her unable to work for two days, according to French news outlet Ouest France.

Afterward, he delivered threats to the woman, telling her: “I’m going to kill you.”

In court, he said, “I want to educate my child. When she told me that she was going to find him another dad, I slapped her.”

The victim was not in court, as she was “in a disturbed psychological state,” said her lawyer….

Fate of Gaza ceasefire deal in Hamas leader’s hands, US intel official says

The fate of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas is “largely a question that is going to be answered” by the leader of the Palestinian terrorist group, Deputy CIA Director David Cohen said on Wednesday.

Cohen did not refer to Hamas’ leader, Yahya Sinwar, by name. The Israelis were showing seriousness in the negotiations, Cohen told an intelligence and national security summit in Washington.

Mediators from the US, Egypt and Qatar have been working to strike a deal between the sides and prevent a broader regional war.

On those efforts, Cohen said: “There may be episodes where people would step back from the brink, but I don’t think anybody can be confident that that effort to control escalation is something that … any party in that region” can control.

‘The immigration crisis is first and foremost a crime crisis’ – Police union boss says Germany is no longer safe, labels Islam the biggest threat

In what is increasingly becoming a PR disaster for the far-left German government, the terror knife attack in Solingen, perpetrated by a Syrian national, is highlighting the unavoidable connection between immigration and exploding crime and violence.

In the wake of the attack, German police union (DPoIG) chairman Manuel Ostermann slammed the status quo, called the immigration problems a crime problem, and said Islam was the greatest threat to the country in terms of security.

“Yes, our country has changed. Nothing about it is positive. Germany is no longer a safe country. We have a massive problem with knife crime. The migration crisis is first and foremost a crime crisis. And the greatest danger to life and limb of people living in Germany is clearly posed by Islamists. This reality can no longer be ignored or tabooed. Now is the time to recognize reality and implement clear measures in the constitutional fight against precisely this security policy madness,” Ostermann said in a video statement.

As the leader of the second-largest police union in Germany, with nearly 100,000 members, his words carry extra weight with the public and police forces who have to deal with Germany’s surging insecurity.

In an interview, he said that politicians often deliver empty phrases following such attacks, and Solingen was no different. He noted that the Islamist terror attack in Mannheim, which resulted in a police officer’s death showed, there is little concern for what officers have to face….

Zelensky appeals for more military support from Poland, including MiG fighters

(Clodagh Kilcoyne/Pool via AP)

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for increased military support from Poland, specifically requesting the transfer of Polish MiG fighter jets to Ukraine. However, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told Kyiv that Poland had already provided all it could.

“Ukraine is grateful for the support Poland has offered since the beginning of the Russian invasion,” President Zelensky stated. He added, however, that the Polish government currently seems to be paying less attention to Ukraine’s needs.

Despite raising the issue with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Zelensky acknowledged that no positive decision has been made so far.

Zelensky also highlighted discussions with Poland about the possibility of Polish forces intercepting Russian missiles and drones over western Ukraine. He said Poland seems hesitant, fearing it may have to make this decision alone…

Dolton mayor billed taxpayers tens of thousands for Texas trip

For months, Dolton, Illinois, Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s administration repeatedly refused to release spending records, in violation of the state’s government transparency laws.

Even when Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office ordered the village to turn over the documents, Henyard and her allies took no action.

NewsNation affiliate WGN’s parent company filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court.

In response, a judge recently ordered Dolton to release dozens of pages of documents, including months’ worth of credit card statements. A review of those records shows Henyard and her allies spent tens of thousands of dollars on first-class flights, airline upgrades, high-end hotels, Uber Eats and more.

The statements cover a five-month span, from July to November 2023.

“When you see things like this — it’s just a punch in the gut,” said Dolton Trustee Tammie Brown. Brown is among a group of board members who publicly oppose Henyard. She also had not seen the statements, despite numerous requests for copies.

“(Henyard) hid it from us because we would definitely have questions,” Brown said.

In addition to her role as mayor of Dolton, Henyard is supervisor of Thornton Township, an elected position that pays her more than $200,000 a year….

A woman allegedly killed her friend’s newborn twin and abused the other. Prosecutors will seek the death penalty

Leon and Ari Katz were six weeks old at the time of the alleged homicide and assaults in June. – From Isabella Kahhalé and Sam Plate

Their longtime friend, Nicole Elizabeth Virzi, was visiting from San Diego. She was watching the other twin, Leon, in their apartment.

Later that night, they received a harrowing call at the hospital from Virzi. She told them Leon had fallen out of his bassinet and struck his head on the floor.

By dawn, Leon was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh hospital. A young family was shattered. And as more details emerged about his final moments, investigators started questioning Virzi’s story.

Leon’s CT scan showed a severe skull fracture to the left side of the head, along with multiple brain bleeds. An autopsy determined that they were caused by blunt force trauma and were consistent with child abuse.

Within days, Virzi was charged with homicide and two counts each of aggravated assault and child endangerment. Prosecutors allege she caused Ari’s injuries. And the injuries to Leon were not “natural or accidental,” the criminal complaint said.

Virzi told investigators that she’d spent part of the afternoon on June 15 with the family, according to the criminal complaint. She said she noticed injuries on Ari and notified his parents.

There was blood in his diaper and his penis was red and swollen, according to the criminal complaint. “She … photographed the injury and sent it to Ethan Katz,” it said.

Ari also had additional injuries, including scratches to his right cheek and bruises below his belly button, the criminal complaint said. The parents denied causing the injuries and said they first learned about them from Virzi…

Florida mom left with ‘catastrophic’ injuries when she, baby are struck by migrant Amazon driver who fled

A Venezuelan migrant driving for Amazon smashed into a Florida mom who was pushing her 4-month-old infant in a stroller — causing the young mother “catastrophic” injuries and throwing the baby into the street, according to cops and video from the scene.

The mother was dragged onto the front of the car, the home surveillance video showed.

The driver stopped her car and got out long enough to prop the stroller back up and put the baby in the seat — and then fled.

She left “the baby alone in the middle of the intersection and the mom bleeding from her skull,” the family’s lawyer Judd Rosen told The Post Tuesday.

Parra-Ovalles, 45, entered the US on a tourist visa in 2019, which expired in 2021, Homeland Security sources told The Post.

She was granted Temporary Protected Status in 2021, which allowed her apply for a work permit.

Rosen’s client was “horrified” that Parra-Ovalles was allowed back on the streets so soon after what happened, he said.

“She was run down in broad daylight and left for dead, and within 24 hours of getting arrested, [the suspect is] back on the streets, potentially driving around. Where is the justice system when you need them?” he lamented….

Typhoon Shanshan dumps rain on southern Japan, leaving 3 injured and 3 missing

A typhoon moving at bicycle speed began dumping rain on southern Japan on a path that will bring strong winds, high waves and significant rainfall to most of the country, prompting weather officials to issue the highest-level warnings Wednesday.

Three people were injured and three others were missing due to a storm-related landslide and driving accident.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said Typhoon Shanshan is expected to reach southern Kyushu and possibly make landfall Thursday, and issued the highest-level warning for violent winds, high waves and heavy rain for the Kagoshima prefecture, as well as an emergency storm surge warning. It forecast up to 60 centimeters (23.6 inches) of rainfall in 24 hours for southern Kyushu…..

HBO Footage Shows Nancy Pelosi Deflecting Blame for J6, Creating Scheme to Target Trump

Richard A. Brooks / AFP via Gett

The video supports claims by former President Donald Trump that Pelosi was responsible for failing to prepare sufficient security ahead of the protest.

The redacted footage, published by Politico on Wednesday, shows Pelosi being rushed off the House floor by Capitol Police to her SUV. Pelosi asked if then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had approved a request for the National Guard, the video shows. McConnell had approved it, according to a reply in the video.

Trump offered the National Guard in the days before January 6, but it was refused. “Trump was later faulted by critics for not intervening quickly to send the Guard during the riot,” as Joel Pollak reported in June.

“How many times did the members ask, ‘Are we prepared? Are we prepared?’ We’re not prepared for the worst,” Pelosi said in the video. “We’re calling the National Guard now? It should’ve been here to start out. I just don’t understand it. Why do we empower people this way by not being ready?”

The comments build upon comments from previous HBO footage released in June that revealed Pelosi admitting responsibility for not having the National Guard protect the Capitol building.

On January 7, Pelosi began plans to blame Trump for the incident instead of calling for the resignation of Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, Politico reported. “I think our focus has to be on the president. Let’s not divert ourselves,” Pelosi said. “I don’t want to have it on a par with the insurrection and impeachment and all of that.”

Politico reported on Pelosi’s public relations strategy to deflect any responsibility from herself:….

Sanctuary city’s policies push violent migrant gang into suburbs: ‘It’s a nationwide problem’

These images from a Customs and Border Protection intelligence bulletin show tattoos and identifiers for Tren De Aragua. (Fox News)

Although Denver’s suburbs don’t share its sanctuary city policies, the influx of migrants into the Mile High City has spilled outward. Now, its neighbors are facing an unprecedented wave of activity from a notorious Venezuelan prison gang.

Officials from Aurora, about nine miles east of Denver, told Fox News Digital the Tren de Aragua gang has gained a strong foothold in their city, commandeering apartment complexes and drumming up violent crime and sex trafficking.

“We currently have entire complexes under gang control — complexes where staff have been beaten up, they’ve been threatened, their families have been threatened [and] complexes where there are no staff left on the property,” Aurora City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky said. “These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang.

“They start brokering apartments themselves when someone leaves out of fear or whatever. They go in and take pictures of the apartment themselves. Then, I’ve been told, within hours, a Venezuelan family moves in.

“Parts of the city are absolutely under this gang control. The local media is downplaying this,” she said. “I believe politics is being played with people’s lives. … Nothing is being done to help the American citizens that are being trapped under this gang’s control.”…

There’s no hiding the motive behind the latest Trump indictment: Cherkasky

Former federal prosecutor Katie Cherkasky joins ‘Fox & Friends’ to argue Special Counsel Jack Smith’s latest indictment against former President Trump is a ‘pure headline grab’ in the middle of the 2024 campaign season.
