Minors overdose on mushrooms at Colorado school, suspect arrested

Detectives Johnson and Detective Linfoot responded to the hospital to initiate the overdose drug investigation and through detailed interviews, they found another set of minors were involved in the case. All four students were engaged with a narcotics dealer through Telegram, a phone app for instant messaging, officers said.

The group of four — ages ranging between 12 and 16 — had purchased mushrooms from an adult dealer on Monday evening. CSPD said the transaction occurred in the parking lot of a King Soopers located at 815 Cheyenne Meadows Road.

Detectives worked with the minors’ parents and recovered the remaining psilocybin mushrooms as evidence. Then, they utilized the minors’ phones to communicate with the dealer.

CSPD said the minors were able to provide a general physical description of a car associated with the dealer, but no identification was made at the time. Detective Johnson contacted the dealer through Telegram when posing as a minor. MNU detectives and Detective Johnson were able to set up another narcotics transaction and draw out the dealer during the undercover purchase.

During the operation, detectives were able to identify the man as 21-year-old Damien Solano who was carrying approximately 2 ounces of mushrooms, as ordered by Detective Johnson through the Telegram app…..

Social media helps fentanyl dealers distribute deadly doses, parents warn

His parents said he went to a treatment center and got clean. In July 2022, his father found him draped over his desk at their home in Scarsdale, New York.

“The toxicology report called it fentanyl intoxication; we call it fentanyl murder. To us it was murder,” Peter said.

The proliferation of drug trafficking on social media is so serious that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) sent out an alert about the emerging threat saying in part, “Criminal drug networks are abusing social media to expand their reach, create new markets and target new clients.”   The DEA also warns code words and emojis are used.

The Zurkows have turned their pain into purpose. What initially started as a Facebook post to relatives and friends, turned into an article for the Boston Globe.

“It was clear that Henry thought he was buying another drug, not something containing a lethal dose of the most powerful, non-natural opioid ever synthesized,” Peter wrote in the outlet.

It’s been over two years since Henry’s death. Peter and Erica speak out on harm reduction, as well as advocate for the opening of safe injection sites along with making test strips and the overdose reversing drug, Narcan, more readily available….

Harris demands amnesty for illegal aliens after yet another alleged murder by imported criminal

Kamala Harris has tried on several new accents and personas in recent weeks in hopes of simulating a Democratic candidate whom Americans might care to vote for.

As part of this broader campaign, Harris has begun masquerading as a border defender despite her past criticism of the border wall and her failure as border czar to prevent tens of millions of illegal aliens from stealing into the homeland.

Harris let this new mask slip during her solo interview Wednesday with MSNBC when she suggested that, if elected president, she would remedy America’s “broken immigration system” by rewarding some of the illegal aliens who jumped the border with “pathways” to citizenship.

While this campaign promise was already baked into Harris’ remodel of Biden’s campaign site, it appears to have caught some Americans off guard when said aloud — especially those previously kept in the dark about Harris’ policies during her months-long media blackout….

Damning report: Top agent kept credible threat against Trump secret ahead of Butler rally

The lead U.S. Secret Service advance agent for the July 13 Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania learned three days before the event about “credible intelligence” of a threat to the former president but didn’t inform the special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh Field Office or share that information on the event’s preliminary survey document, a new U.S. Senate report reveals.

The Pittsburgh special agent in charge told Senate investigators that if he had been made aware of intelligence about a threat, he “might have pushed for the event to be moved indoors if it was deemed too risky for an outdoor venue,” according to a preliminary report on the assassination attempt against Trump at the fairgrounds in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“Despite learning on July 9 that based on ‘credible intelligence’ of a threat USSS counter-snipers assets would be provided for the July 13 rally, the lead advance agent wrote in the intelligence section of the preliminary survey document that, ‘At this time, no adverse intelligence has been developed concerning this visit,’” read the Sept. 25 report from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

The lead advance agent told Senate investigators that “there was no adverse intelligence to pass on [to] … the group as a whole,” and that’s why it was not noted on the survey form. However, the Pittsburgh SAIC told the committee “that it would be his expectation that any credible threat or intelligence would appear in the ‘intelligence’ section in the preliminary survey,” the report said.

“Additionally, the SAIC told the committee that he would have requested more assets if he had received this information,” the report said…..

FCC Opens Up More Spectrum for Starlink, Low-Earth Orbiting Satellites

(Credit: NicoElNino via Getty Images)

In a win for SpaceX’s Starlink, the Federal Communications Commission is giving low-Earth orbiting satellites access to more radio spectrum.

On Thursday, the FCC unanimously voted to open 1,300 megahertz of spectrum in the 17.3 to 17.8GHz bands to non-geostationary satellites, which would include Starlink satellites that operate closer to Earth.

The goal is to foster competition and expand “the ability of satellite operators to deploy advanced services, including high-speed internet access to unserved and underserved areas,” the FCC says.

The order specifically enables non-geostationary satellites to harness the 17GHz bands for downlinking purposes or to send data from space down to Earth. The spectrum would also be shared with higher-orbiting geostationary satellites, which got access in 2022.

So it’s possible the new rules could lead to a significant download speed increase for Starlink. During the vote, FCC staff explained the order will allow both stationary and in-motion devices to receive signals from satellites using the 17GHz spectrum. But it sounds like companies will first need to receive a license from the FCC….

U.S. House passes bills to counter CCP threats

Chinese illegal border crossers total over 177,600 since 2021. That’s equivalent to 35.5 U.S. Army brigades.

The U.S. House has passed several bills to combat national security threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party and People’s Republic of China. They include HR 8631, the “Decoupling from Foreign Adversarial Battery Dependence Act;” HR 8663, the “DETECT Fentanyl and Xylazine Act of 2024;” and HR 7404, the “Subterranean Border Defense Act.”

“The United States must decouple from Communist China in all facets of our lives,” said U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-FL, who’s been warning about Chinese-Cuban threats. He filed HR 8631 to prohibit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from procuring batteries from six major companies owned and operated in the PRC, including Contemporary Amperex Technology Company, Ltd., and Gotion High Tech.

“We were already late to recognize the PRC’s battery threat, and we cannot afford to do it again,” he said. “We must proactively stay ahead and address these threats that undermine the U.S. supply chain and leave our national security at risk.”

“The threat actor ‘Volt Typhoon’ remained undetected and undeterred in our networks for far too long,” U.S. Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green, R-TN, said. “The discovery of the new actor ‘Flax Typhoon’ further demonstrates the CCP’s unabashed commitment to infiltrating our critical infrastructure. While intrusions from threat actors like the Typhoons create a dangerous opportunity for espionage, we know they could also serve as open doors for the CCP to manipulate or thwart crucial services Americans rely on in the event of escalation in the Indo-Pacific.”…

NY Times: Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Hides Political News Before Election in Favor of Celeb Gossip, Cat Videos

The Crunchies!/Flickr

Users of Facebook, Instagram and Threads have noticed a decrease in the visibility of posts related to political campaigns and candidates. This is no accident, as Meta has deliberately adjusted app settings to de-emphasize such content in users’ feeds.

Additionally, the company has removed transparency tools that journalists and researchers previously relied upon to monitor political misinformation on the platforms, making it more challenging to track the spread of false or misleading information.

Breitbart news as reported extensively on Meta’s move away from politics. As early as 2021, Zuckerberg’s empire was making moves to reduce the visibility of top political pages, many of which are conservative:

The success of conservatives on Facebook has long been a complaint of Democrats and the establishment media. During the 2020 election, the New York Times ran a piece lamenting the fact that conservative pages like Breitbart News, the Hodge Twins, Dan Bongino, and Dinesh D’Souza regularly outperformed liberal rivals on the platform.

Recent data from Facebook’s own analytics service showed that Breitbart News continues to demolish its establishment media competitors on Facebook.

Facebook’s move away from political content will hurt the most successful political publishers on the platform while boosting news publishers that can afford to create large quantities of non-political content — like the corporate establishment media.

Inside Meta, the shift away from politics is evident in the company’s internal operations. Mark Zuckerberg, who once held weekly meetings with the heads of election security, has scaled back his involvement, according to four employees. The number of full-time staff dedicated to election integrity issues has been reduced, and the election integrity team itself has been disbanded, with its members being integrated into other teams within the company. Meta maintains that this restructuring is part of its ongoing efforts to address election-related concerns…..

‘Standing Up to Bullies:’ Rumble Lawsuit Against ‘Anti-Free Speech Zealots’ to Enter Discovery Phase

Chris Pavlovski/Twitter

The defendants’ request for a stay of discovery has been rejected, meaning that discovery in the lawsuit will now commence — a big win for Rumble in its free speech case against Check My Ads, as discovery will result in the lawsuit moving forward.

In November, Rumble filed a lawsuit against Jammi and Atkin, two co-founders of purported watchdog organization, Check My Ads, a far-left pro-censorship pressure group that smears conservatives with false allegations of “hate speech” and “disinformation” in an attempt to scare advertisers and tech platforms into cutting ties with them.

The lawsuit accuses Jammi and Atkin of being unable to tolerate Rumble’s content-neutral philosophy and seeking to silence “competing points of view.”

“Defendants have repeatedly peddled the false narrative that Rumble is primarily monetized by and wholly dependent upon revenue from Google Ads, when in reality, Google Ads now represents less than 1% of the Company’s revenue,” the lawsuit states. “This narrative is particularly damaging to Rumble.”

“The notion that Rumble is heavily dependent on ad revenue from Google is wholly inconsistent with Rumble’s publicly stated mission to be free from the political and economic pressures of Big Tech,” the suit adds. “It is equally damaging to Rumble because it falsely attributes a material and existential financial risk to the Company that Defendants’ stated mission to eliminate Rumble’s Google Ad revenue will cause Rumble’s financial collapse.”

In a November press release, Rumble pointed out that “Jammi has a track record of launching pressure campaigns against advertisers on other outlets, including Fox News and Breitbart, and has worked with Media Matters, the hyper-partisan organization that also attempts to hound advertisers to stop spending on outlets that support the free exchange of ideas.”

Jammi was the co-founder of leftist pressure group Sleeping Giants, which targeted Breitbart News in the past. She later left the organization, claiming it discriminated against her as a “woman of color.”

“The irony is that the defendants piously claim to be in the business of protecting all of us from disinformation, but they are the ones lying to the public,” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski said.

Pavlovski also noted that Rumble’s lawsuit “opens up another front in the ongoing war against censorship, much like X’s recently filed suit against Media Matters — another entity that tries to shut down dissent online — and Truth Social’s lawsuit against 20 media outlets.”….

Co-worker ‘motivated by jealousy’ shoots 19-year-old on birthday, CA officials say

A man’s 19th birthday, which was also his first day on the job, was the day he’d be shot, California officials said.

In March 2019, while waiting for an elevator at the San Francisco Conservation Corps, the victim was shot “execution style,” according to a Sept. 23 news release by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

The victim was identified at the time by San Francisco officers as Taiepisi Gutu, according to a news release by the police department.

Oden, “motivated by jealousy,” waited in his car outside the building and saw the victim with a woman who Oden was “romantically interested in,” officials said.

Oden, with his hood up and hands hidden in his pockets, followed the victim into the building, prosecutors said. He shot him in the back of the head before fleeing San Francisco in his car, officials said.

Oden was arrested in Riverside County following a shootout with California Highway Patrol officers, officials said..

Texas Border City Mayor Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Charges

Former Progreso Mayor Arturo Aleman left the federal courthouse in Brownsville on Sept. 24, 2024, after pleading guilty to a federal drug trafficking charge. (Dave Hendricks / CBS 4 News)

David Hendricks first reported the case on the local CBS4 channel.

Aleman is just one former Progresso mayor named in the cocaine conspiracy as having worked with an unnamed Mexican cartel to move the drugs north. As Breitbart Texas reported, Aleman’s successor Gerardo “Gerry” Alaniz and his brother, local school board president Francisco “Frank” Alaniz, have both been charged with drug trafficking conspiracy charges in connection with the case.

The two brothers are part of a politically connected family that has ruled over the small border city for several years.

TheAlaniz brothers made local headlines in South Texas in 2023 after federal authorities detained the two brothers as they crossed from Mexico with open containers and appeared to be intoxicated. In a series of videos published by CBS4, Frank Alaniz is seen bragging to officers about having a large amount of cash and a $20,000 Rolex watch.

The case against the three politicians appears to have started in 2020 when U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a school bus driver from Progresso named Jose Rosbel Salas, who had 30 kilograms of cocaine in his vehicle….

Sanctuary County Maryland: Illegal Alien, Released into U.S., Accused of Murdering 18-Year-Old Girl

MCPD

Gerber Luis Sanchez Centeno, a 23-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested by the Montgomery County Police Department last week and charged with first-degree murder.

According to police and the victim’s family, Centeno and 18-year-old Dania Cruz-Mejia had been in a relationship for the last two years before arriving in the United States.

Cruz-Mejia arrived in the U.S. earlier this year. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to Fox News that Centeno crossed the southern border on June 2 and was apprehended by Border Patrol agents near Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

That same day, Centeno was placed into the Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program with a GPS ankle monitor and released into the U.S. from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody. At the time Centeno crossed the border, federal data shows that DHS had thousands of open detention beds available where the agency could have held him in custody.

By early August, Centeno had absconded from the ATD program and DHS terminated his enrollment as a result. DHS, under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has been increasingly terminating migrants only weeks after they are placed on ATD monitoring, at which time they cease to be monitored….

Hack of Public Wi-Fi Broadcasts ‘Islamophobic’ Message Warning of Terror Attacks Across UK

Getty Images

Users of public access Wi-Fi at 19 major British railway stations were told “the Islamisation of Europe is already happening, and it’s getting worse each day” in what police have called an “Islamophobic” hack.

British Transport Police say they are investigating “Islamophobic messaging on some Network Rail Wi-Fi services” after the default landing page for public internet available at some of the country’s largest railway stations was changed on Wednesday.

Network Rail say they disabled all public internet hotspots at their stations when the issue became apparent, and say they are confident no passenger data was stolen, as has been the case with other recent cyber attacks on the UK transport network.

The content delivered to potentially thousands of internet users on Wednesday afternoon was a web page titled “We love you, Europe” which detailed recent Islamist terrorist attacks in the continent and which claimed: “the Islamisation of Europe is already happening, and it’s getting worse each day… Below is just a SMALL taste of what’s coming”. Details about the attacks listed beneath the introduction were illustrated with pictures taken from mainstream media reports, including British state broadcaster the BBC.

While the assertions made about the Manchester Arena terrorist attack by an Islamist radical that killed 22 innocent victims and injured 1,107 people in 2017, for instance, were factually correct and are readily available in newspaper archives and online, most reporting of the incident saw screenshots of the hack-inserted webpage heavily censored. The British Transport Police have decried the purpose of the hack as being “Islamophobic messaging”….

Migrant Rapist Suspected of Murdering 19-Year-Old French Girl Was Released Early From Prison, Evaded Deportation

A Moroccan migrant rapist suspected of killing a 19-year-old French girl in Paris was set free from prison early and despite having a deportation order was not removed from the country before the alleged murder, sparking demands that the new government finally crack down on immigration.

France has once again been rocked by another gruesome murder apparently at the hands of a migrant, as the body 19-year-old student, named as Philippine, was discovered Saturday half-buried in the Bois de Boulogne park of the affluent 16th arrondissement of Paris.

The suspected murderer, referred to as “Taha O.”, is a 22-year-old migrant from Morocco previously sentenced to seven years in prison for rape. The migrant, who’s DNA was discovered at the scene of the murder, was released from prison early this month after judicial authorities determined that he no longer presented “a threat or a disturbance to public order,” Le Figaro reports.

Yet, after being released from prison, the migrant was given an OQTF (Obligation to leave French territory) deportation order, which also banned him from the country for 10 years. However, he was not removed from the country before the murder of Philippine.

The gruesome killing has put fresh pressure on the recently-installed government in France, particularly from the anti-mass migration populist National Rally (RN) party of Marine Le Pen, which won the most votes in July’s legislative elections…..

Jan 6 “Insurrection” Narrative COLLAPSES as NEW Testimony is Released

Rep. Barry Loudermilk joins Glenn Beck to review newly-released testimony that should close the case on the “Jan. 6 insurrection” narrative.

Not only is Donald Trump now on record calling for the National Guard to be deployed on that day, but Rep. Loudermilk believes there’s evidence that Pentagon officials “purposefully DELAYED” that request.

The National Guard was actually ready to go that morning, he says. But the Pentagon “likely premeditated” how to subvert Trump and put its own restrictions on National Guard deployment.
