Video shows Texas soldiers using PepperBalls on migrants

Video obtained by NewsNation shows Texas soldiers firing PepperBalls at the ground in front of migrants attempting to cross the southern border illegally. Authorities say they were trying to create an “irritant cloud” to hinder their progress.
The video shows a group of about 45 people being ushered across the Rio Grande by a coyote on the south side. The migrants are seen forming a kind of human chain in order to cross the water and get to Shelby Park.
Once they make it across, the Texas military tells them they cannot cross there and they must go back to Mexico to cross legally at a port of entry. Once the migrants continue walking, the PepperBalls are shot at the ground in front of the migrants to create an “irritant cloud.”
The migrants can be seen holding their shirts up as protection and wiping away tears. They continue to try to cross, crawling through concertina wire…

Fitzgerald’s fight: January 6 prosecution steams ahead unabated despite terminal colon cancer

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — Michael K. Fitzgerald suffered two painful shots to the body on Jan. 6, 2021, one of which still represents a serious threat to his life more than 45 months later.
The first shot struck him in the leg and neck at the U.S. Capitol — from explosive munitions fired and tossed into the crowd by Metropolitan Police Department officers. At the time, Fitzgerald was quietly capturing video at the police line on the West Plaza.
The second shot came more than 40 minutes later, just after he walked into the Capitol with a large group of protesters.
Something was very wrong inside, as he discovered during more than a half-hour in the restroom. He was bleeding. His undiscovered colon cancer was fully present, but it wouldn’t be diagnosed for nearly a year. By that time it was at stage IV and had spread.
Fitzgerald’s peaceful 39-minute visit inside the Capitol brought federal felony and misdemeanor charges. Despite occasional discussions with Fitzgerald’s attorney about dropping the case, prosecutors have refused to dismiss the charges, even though Fitzgerald’s doctor says his cancer is incurable.
“I know it’s all marching orders from the DOJ, which we all know are obviously conflicted and they’re politically biased,” Fitzgerald, 46, said during an interview at his home. “I just take some comfort in knowing that if Trump is re-elected, this will get straightened out.”…
What Happened to These PA Voters’ Mail-In Ballots?

Adams County
In a Q-and-A session about the upcoming election, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State Al Schmidt, who oversees election administration statewide, was informed that dozens of voters in Adams County had applied for a mail-in ballot but did not get one.
Adams is a consistently Republican county. In fact, no Democratic candidate seeking the presidency has won Adams County since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. In 2020, Donald Trump won with 66.13 percent of the county’s vote to Joe Biden’s 32.13 percent. In 2016, Hillary Clinton only held 29.63 percent of the vote, the lowest any Democratic nominee had garnered in the county since George McGovern’s failed presidential run 44 years prior.
Mifflin County
Similarly, in Mifflin County, a reliably Republican and pro-Trump stronghold, there’s chatter among voters in community forums about the absence of mail-in ballots that have yet to arrive on their doorsteps.
In 2020, 16,670 Mifflin County voters (77.37 percent) picked Trump compared to 4,603 for Biden (21.36 percent). In 2016, 14,050 (76.53 percent) voted for Trump over Clinton, who claimed a measly 3,563 (19.41 percent.) The last time Mifflin County selected a Democratic candidate for president was 1964.
York County
So, where did the missing ballots go?
York, a Republican-majority county, reportedly sent at least 421 mail-in ballots to the incorrect postal addresses. Election hawks, however, suspect that this number is more likely in the thousands.
Voting rights advocates recently discovered a batch of ballots marked “undeliverable” stored on-site in the county’s elections office. Election officials reportedly responded by saying they can’t control what happens to ballots once they’re in the hands of the U.S. Postal Service….
