Poland prepares for mass immigration by establishing 49 EU-funded integration centers for migrants

(AP Photo/Agnieszka Sadowska)

The Polish government is setting up 49 Foreigners’ Integration Centres (CICs) across the country, aimed at helping newly arrived migrants integrate into Polish society, the European Commission announced this week.

The centers, designed as “one-stop shops,” will provide standardized services, including language courses, legal assistance, and psychological care, and will work with NGOs to cater to a large influx of immigration from outside the European Union under the left-liberal coalition government led by former Eurocrat Donald Tusk.

The initiative, led by Poland’s Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Policy, will see CICs established by marshal offices in collaboration with institutions that work with migrants in local communities.

It is being funded by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF).

Each CIC must include the provincial office responsible for legalizing migrants’ residences and at least one NGO experienced in serving diverse migrant populations, the Commission stated.

In a press release, the EU executive outlined the type of assistance that will be on hand for foreigners, including access to language courses, prevention programs for domestic violence and human trafficking, and help with employment and labor rights…

Press Release: OpenSecrets and RepresentUs spotlight record-breaking pace of election spending by big donors

Unpacking Super PACs will pull the curtain back on some of the most well-funded super PACs and their top donors, whose impact over our electoral process and elected officials has grown since a series of high-profile court rulings (including Citizens United) weakened campaign finance restrictions in 2010.

Polling indicates more than 7 in 10 Americans believe there should be limits on the amount of money individuals and organizations can spend on political campaigns, and more than 6 in 10 Americans believe reducing the influence of money in politics should be a top priority. RepresentUs and OpenSecrets aim to show voters how this money is used, who is behind it, and what those behind it want.

“Big Money is spending more than ever to influence our political system, and it’s working,” says RepresentUs CEO Joshua Graham Lynn. “The American people deserve to know where candidates are getting their funding and who’s trying to influence them. OpenSecrets is the industry leader in tracking money in politics, and RepresentUs is proud to team up with them to put a spotlight on who and what big money actually is.”

“Ensuring that the public has easy access to our data on money in politics is core to our mission at OpenSecrets,” says OpenSecrets Executive Director Hilary Braseth. “It’s a thrill to partner with RepresentUs to produce this series of educational videos to deliver our data and insights to a broader audience. We’ve been tracking this information for four decades, and we hope this is only the beginning for how we might experiment with different mediums to continue engaging awareness around money in politics.”

Unpacking Super PACs’ first video outlines the scale of super PAC spending and puts a spotlight on two of the biggest donors of the 2024 election cycle: Timothy Mellon, the heir to Gilded Age industrialist Andrew Mellon who has poured more than $160 million into Trump-aligned super PACs, and Future Forward USA Action, a “dark money” group that has given millions of dollars to a Democratic Party-aligned super PAC. Additional content will laser in on other deep-pocketed donors as well as nonpartisan, issue-focused super PACs that back candidates who advance their interests. …

Milton recovery efforts underway in Florida as 2.2M without power

Crews resumed rescue-and-recovery efforts Friday morning in Florida, working around the clock to help people in the wake of Hurricane Milton.

At least 10 storm-related deaths have been reported so far, according to the White House. NewsNation local affiliate WFLA reported that one of those killed was a Polk County employee who was helping with cleanup.

President Joe Biden is expected to travel to Florida on Sunday to visit impacted areas.

As of 2 p.m. ET Friday, more than 2.2 million customers remained without power in Florida.

Still, many expressed relief that Milton wasn’t worse. The hurricane spared densely populated Tampa a direct hit, and the lethal storm surge that scientists feared never materialized.

“To the people of Florida: I know recovery and rebuilding periods can be long and difficult. And that long after the press and cameras move on, you have to pick up the pieces. But I want you to know I will do everything in my power to help you put the pieces back together,” President Joe Biden posted to X….

At least two workers were killed and 35 employees injured at a PEMEX oil refinery in Deer Park, Texas, on Thursday. Hydrogen sulfide leaked at the plant, resulting in temporary shelter-in-place orders for residents across the county, officials said.

According to a news release from the City of Deer Park, local police responded to an alert of a chemical leak of hydrogen sulfide—a highly toxic, flammable, and colorless gas often described as smelling like rotten eggs—seeping into the air at the plant around 5:23 p.m. on Thursday.

Two were confirmed dead at the scene, and at least 35 others were “triaged,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at a Thursday night news conference. It is unclear how many were treated on-site or brought to a medical facility.

Gonzalez said preliminary information showed that workers were working on the flange of some kind when there was a gas leak of hydrogen sulfide. He added that authorities have not made entry into the unit because it is “dynamic” and it might take seven to eight hours, or overnight, to complete the assessment….

Musk unveils Robotaxi, unsupervised full self-driving future: ‘That’s what we want’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has unveiled a new self-driving vehicle called the Robotaxi, declaring at an event in California that “it’s going to be a glorious future.”

The two-seat car, which has no steering wheel or pedals, is expected to be available by 2026 and cost under $30,000, according to Musk.

“As you can see, I just arrived in Robotaxi, the Cybercab,” Musk told an audience after getting out of one of the vehicles at Warner Bros. Studios outside Los Angeles.

“You see a lot of sci-fi movies where the future is dark and dismal, where it’s not a future you want to be in… We want to have a fun, exciting future that if you could look in a crystal ball and see the future, you’d be like, ‘yes, I wish I could be there now.’ That’s what we want,” Musk said.

The Robotaxis will drive with the help of AI and cameras, while charging will be inductive.

“With autonomy, you get your time back,” Musk said.

“I think the cost of autonomous transport will be so low that you can think of it like individualized mass transit. The average cost of a bus per mile for a city… is about a dollar a mile, whereas the cost of Cybercab, we think probably over time, the operating cost is probably going to be around $0.20 a mile,” he added….

Rise of the robot submarine: The next big thing in naval warfare

Boeing

Robot submarines (AUVs) are a subcategory of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). UUVs include military, research, and civilian, including non-autonomous, remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs).

AUVs are effectively specialized robots for specific underwater operations. Being autonomous, these craft do not require direct control or input from remote pilots.

They are used for various tasks ranging from underwater exploration and research to militarized variants designed for attacking surfaces or conventional underwater craft like submarines. Other variants also exist for minesweeping or special operations.

However, when used for military purposes, these vehicles tend to be referred to as unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs). The first was developed in the late 1950s to study diffusion, acoustic transmission, and submarine tracking.

The University of Washington developed the “Self-Propelled Underwater Research Vehicle,” or SPURV. Since then, this technology has exploded beyond recognition….

What the Democrats Do NOT Want you to Know about J6 | Congressman Barry Loudermilk

In this episode of Better for America, Rebecca Weber is joined by Congressman Barry Loudermilk, who represents Georgia’s 11th congressional district, to discuss recent findings regarding the January 6th Select Committee and what the Democrats don’t want you to know about it.

Loudermilk highlights newly obtained transcripts that reveal key discrepancies in the official narrative about the National Guard’s role on January 6th. As he explains, “Once we got these transcripts, and we were able to identify… Donald Trump did order the National Guard ready.”

Despite claims from the Department of Defense that the Guard was not prepared, the transcripts show that they were ready for deployment early on the morning of January 6th, contradicting the official report. Loudermilk further sheds light on the chain of command and the ongoing debate about responsibility between President Trump and then-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

Trump to announce ‘Operation Aurora’ to deport illegal Venezuelan gang members

Former President Donald Trump on Friday will announce “Operation Aurora,” his detailed plan for deporting members of an illegal immigrant members of a notorious Venezuelan gang.

The name appears to reference Aurora, Colo., which made headlines earlier this year after a Venezuelan gang took over several apartment complexes in the city. Trump is set to speak in the city on Friday.

“Today, in Aurora, Colorado, President Trump will be announcing ‘OPERATION AURORA’ at the federal level to remove illegal migrant members of the very dangerous transnational Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, or ‘TDA.'” a senior Trump campaign official told Just the News.

“This gang member removal program will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle every illegal migrant criminal network operating on American soil,” the official continued. “Last month men armed with rifles and handguns were caught on camera as they forced their way into an apartment in Aurora, CO, and threatened the tenant at gunpoint. 10 minutes later, they opened fire on a 25-year-old man outside the building, fatally shooting him. Of the three identified barbaric thugs, ALL THREE are illegal aliens who were in Border Patrol custody but RELEASED into the U.S. by Kamala Harris.”….

NASA Is Mega Hyped About SpaceX’s Imminent Starship Test Flight

SpaceX is readying up for the next test flight of its Starship rocket — and NASA is officially pretty hyped about it, SpaceNews reports.

The rocket’s last test flight — the fourth — was in June, which saw the massive spacecraft and its Super Heavy booster survive re-entry largely intact and eventually splash down in the ocean.

Now, after a long wait, the fifth flight could launch as soon as October 13, according to SpaceX, if it gets the go-ahead from the Federal Aviation Administration.

NASA, for its part, is “really looking forward” to the Starship flight, as Lori Glaze, the agency’s acting deputy associate administrator at its Exploration Systems Development Mission Directoratetold reporters during a Wednesday meeting, as quoted by SpaceNews.

The world’s most powerful rocket is planned to play a key role in NASA’s lunar ambitions, with a specialized variant of it, dubbed the Human Landing System, serving as a lander that will carry astronauts down to the Moon’s surface during the third mission of space agency’s Artemis….

Texas Elections Chief Tells Poll Workers To Give Ballots To People Who Show Noncitizen IDs

New guidance from Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson directs election workers to accept noncitizen driver’s licenses as voter identification, despite the fact that noncitizens are ineligible to vote in American elections.

Guidance issued Tuesday by Nelson’s office and initialed by Director of Elections Christina Adkins instructs poll workers to give a regular ballot to individuals who are on the voter rolls even if they present a limited-term driver’s license or ID card as their form of identification.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issues “limited-term driver’s licenses” or identification cards to individuals who are legally residing in the state but are not citizens. The license and identification card are denoted by either “Temporary Visitor” or “Limited-Term.”

The guidance instructs election officials to “inform” the individual that the “identification presented suggests that the individual is not a United States citizen” and that it is illegal for noncitizens to vote.

After hearing such information, “If the individual does not have further questions or concerns and wishes to proceed to vote, the individual should be offered a regular ballot,” the guidance states….

The Adams administration projects the spending will be needed for the 150 hotels that are currently under contract with the city to house illegals, according to the New York Post.

Spending over the three years is likely to total up to $5.76 billion, the city says.City hall has contracts with the New York City Hotel Association to provide the shelter at a cost of $352 per night per family, the city has reported.

On the tail of heavy criticism, Adams changed up his more lenient policies and began imposing 30-day limits for individual migrants and 60 days for families.

But the cost of the migrant crisis is already causing the city to limit services to citizens as officials have moved to cut funding for the city’s fire and police departments…

Sanctuary State Massachusetts: Illegal Alien ‘Got-Away’ Accused of Raping Child

ICE

Maynor Francisco Hernandez-Rodas, a 38-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, first crossed the border as a so-called “got-away” sometime before September 2011 when he was convicted in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for breach of peace.

At the time, Hernandez-Rodas was sentenced to six months in prison and one year of probation.

Then, in May 2016, Hernandez-Rodas was again convicted for breach of peace, this time in Norwalk, Connecticut, and given only a $100 fine.

In June of this year, Hernandez-Rodas was arrested in Lowell, Massachusetts, for aggravated rape of a child and forcible rape of a child. Days after his arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents issued a detainer against Hernandez-Rodas, requesting custody of him.

On Sept. 4, Hernandez-Rodas was arraigned on the child rape charges. The Middlesex Superior Court ignored ICE’s detainer on Hernandez-Rodas and released him into the community on an unknown date….

Internet Archive reels from ‘catastrophic’ cyberattack, data breach

PHOTO: REUTERS

The Internet Archive, an online repository of web pages, was offline on Oct 10 after its founder confirmed a major cyberattack that exposed the data of millions of users and left the site defaced.

The assault on the San Francisco-based non-profit, claimed by a shadowy group that experts described as a pro-Palestinian “hacktivist”, lays bare the perils of cybersecurity breaches ahead of the Nov 5 US presidential election.

Mr Brewster Kahle, the Internet Archive’s founder and digital librarian, acknowledged a series of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks – aimed at disrupting a website or server – since Oct 8 and said the organisation was working to upgrade security.

The assault led to the “defacement of our website” and a breach of usernames, e-mails and passwords, Mr Kahle wrote on X, formerly Twitter, late Oct 9.

In a new post early Oct 11, Mr Kahle said the attackers had returned, knocking down both the Internet Archive’s main site and its “Open Library,” an open source catalogue of digitised books.

The Internet Archive’s data “has not been corrupted”, he wrote in a subsequent post….

Australian F-35 stealth fighters take to skies here

Australia’s F-35s participated in the bilateral Exercise Churinga with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) in late September, and are currently involved in Exercise Bersama Lima, said the RSAF.

Exercise Bersama Lima is a multilateral military exercise involving air, land and naval forces from Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom, held under the auspices of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) established in 1971.

This year’s exercise was officially opened on Oct 1 at Changi Naval Base. The Straits Times understands that six RAAF F-35As are in Singapore for the exercises.

The inclusion of F-35 fighter jets in Bersama Lima for the first time this year fulfils a commitment that FPDA defence ministers made on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue in May to incorporate next-generation capabilities into future exercises, alongside other assets such as unmanned systems and the P-8 Poseidon, a premier submarine hunter-tracker aircraft.

Photography enthusiasts here still have a chance in the coming days to catch the F-35 and other fighter jets overhead. The RSAF said it will be conducting flying activities on Oct 12 as part of Bersama Lima, and advised the public not to be alarmed by aircraft noise….

Czech Police Arrest One of World’s Top Homosexual Child Sex Pornographers

Annie Spratt via Unsplash

A dual Czech-American national, who has been described as having been at some point “among the three largest distributors of homosexual child pornography in the world,” has been arrested and will face trial.

Local police said the arrest followed a year-long operation alongside other investigations being carried out in parallel by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the EU police office (Europol).

The FBI had been monitoring the activities of the suspect for around ten years but were only recently able to determine his identity as a result of a Europol-led investigation, Le Monde reported.

Police said that the suspect “mainly distributed content created by others and gave advice about ways to sexually abuse underage boys or to distribute child sexual abuse content on the dark web.”

The disclosure of the arrest in the Czech Republic came as authorities in Germany also arrested six men suspected of operating a dark web platform for sharing child pornography and child sex abuse content….

Small Rural Indiana City Overwhelmed by Thousands of Haitian Illegal Migrants – Strains Hospital with Record Births and ER Visits – 20-25 People Living in Homes

Haitian migrants in Logansport, Indiana

Thousands of illegal and paroled migrants from Haiti, Guatemala, El Salvador and other 3rd world countries have been sent to Logansport, Indiana, a rural city of just 18,000 people.

People from at least 28 countries speaking 27 languages now call Logansport home.

There are 20-25 people living in homes. Hospitals are overwhelmed with record number of births and more than 20,000 ER visits per year.

Students need translators and the hospitals say the illegal migrants can’t pay their bills and rely on charity or Medicaid.

The Mayor of Logansport told Fox 59 that he doesn’t even know how many illegal migrants were sent to his city.

“Logansport Memorial told us they are on pace for record births and more than 20,000 ER visits. 27% of their patients are also on Medicaid and that puts a significant burden on OB care in Indiana,” Fox 59 reported….

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday announced a 1.4 billion euro ($1.53 billion) military aid package for Ukraine by the end of 2024, telling President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that it was a signal to Russia that the West would not stop supporting Kyiv.

The aid will be given jointly with partner countries Belgium, Denmark and Norway and includes more air defence, tanks, combat drones and artillery.

“It is a clear message to (Russian President Vladimir) Putin – playing for time will not work. We will not let up in our support for Ukraine,” Scholz said.

Zelenskiy has been meeting allies in Europe this week to present a “victory plan” to end the war while also pressing to use long-range weapons that can strike deeper into Russian territory.

The details of his plan have not been divulged publicly. A U.S. official has previously described it as a repackaged request for more weapons and a lifting of restrictions on the use of long-range missiles.

A European diplomatic source also said that there appeared to be nothing especially new in the victory plan. …

California Insanity: Commission Rejects Space Force Plan for SpaceX Launches Because Elon Musk Supports Trump

Julia Demaree Nikhinson/AP

The California Coastal Commission has denied Space Force plans for Elon Musk’s SpaceX to launch crucial satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base because the governmental body doesn’t like Musk’s politics.

One commissioner claimed SpaceX should not be allowed to support the American military’s work in space because Musk has “aggressively injected himself into the presidential race.”

Politico reports that in a 6-4 vote on Thursday, the California Coastal Commission rejected the Air Force’s plan to allow SpaceX to launch up to 50 rockets per year from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County.

The decision came as a blow to the aerospace company’s ambitions, with commissioners citing concerns over Elon Musk’s political rhetoric and the classification of SpaceX as a military contractor.

During the meeting in San Diego, Commissioner Gretchen Newsom criticized Musk’s behavior, stating, “Elon Musk is hopping about the country, spewing and tweeting political falsehoods and attacking FEMA while claiming his desire to help the hurricane victims with free Starlink access to the internet.”

The commission, known for its strict defense of public access to California’s coastline, had been in ongoing discussions with the Air Force’s Space Force branch since May 2023 regarding the proposed increase in SpaceX’s satellite launches from Vandenberg.

Approximately 2.75 million homes and businesses were without power on Thursday evening after the storm careened into the state’s west coast Wednesday night, Breitbart News reported on Friday, noting the death toll was at 16 as recovery efforts were underway.

In the storm’s aftermath, social media has exploded with messages of gratitude for the linemen working to restore power in the affected areas:

“On behalf of a grateful state, thank you to all the linesmen mobilized to help Floridians recover. Thank you for your service, and God bless you!” DeSantis’ wife Casey wrote in a social media post:..

Musk Warns Dems Will ‘Shut Down’ X Platform If This Happens

In an interview on the Tucker Carlson Network, X owner Elon Musk warned that one particular outcome this election cycle could spell doom for his X platform.

Musk sat down with independent commentator Tucker Carlson, and the pair discussed the upcoming 2024 election. Carlson questioned Musk about how a potential Harris/Walz administration could impact the X platform. “If she wins, how can they let X continue in its current form, in its current role in American Society?” Carlson asked. Musk responded frankly, warning, “They’ll try to prosecute the company, prosecute me. I mean, the amount of lawfare we’re seeing taking place is outrageous.”

Musk added that should Harris win the 2024 presidential election, “[Democrats] will try to shut it down, by any means possible.” He also noted, “All the X platform does is adhere to freedom of speech within the bounds of the law. And if people want to change the laws, they can change the laws.”

Musk’s reaction is unsurprising considering the recent chorus of calls for censorship against Musk by prominent Democrats and world leaders. For example, just in the last couple of weeks, former Secretary of State John Kerry (D), Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (D) have each called for the government to impose tight regulations on social media….
