Canada: ‘Aggressive Populist’ Pierre Poilievre Seeks Prime Ministership After Trudeau Exit

Poilievre is widely believed to be in the lead for the prime ministership as Trudeau’s Liberals, after a decade in power, have largely fallen from grace in the eyes of voters and Poilievre’s Conservatives are seeing major gains in the polls.
Recent polls show that over half of Canadians want elections to remove Trudeau “as soon as possible,” and about 45 percent would vote Conservative.
In a multiparty system like Canada’s, where the Liberals must compete with the radical leftist New Democrats (NDP) for the left-wing vote, those poll numbers would give the Conservatives a significant victory if they translate into votes and likely hand the prime ministership to Poilievre.
Trudeau announced on Monday that he would resign in response to growing rejection of his leadership from within the Liberal Party – not, apparently, in response to the rejection of the Canadian people.
Poilievre condemned Trudeau’s move on Monday, describing it as an attempt to “trick voters by swapping in another Liberal face to keep ripping off Canadians.” He is demanding an election as soon as possible….

Nigel Farage Vows to Fund Inquiry Into Muslim Child Rape Grooming Scandal if Labour Government Won’t

The Reform leader, who for over a decade has been a leading voice criticising the failures of authorities and successive governments to safeguard young girls from mostly Muslim Pakistani rape gangs, has said that his party is willing to raise the money to appoint “independent ex-judges and experts” to conduct an inquiry into the scandal.
“If the Labour government won’t hold a full public inquiry into the widespread mass rape scandal, then we at Reform UK will. Raising the money won’t be a problem,” Farage said on Monday evening.
The Reform boss said there is an “overwhelming demand” for a fresh investigation. Yet, the government has resisted calls for a full inquiry, claiming that previous reports have been sufficient and that the focus should be on implementing recommendations rather than re-litigating the past.
Going further, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who has faced questions about his role in the scandal during his time as the country’s top prosecutor, said on Monday that those demanding a public inquiry were jumping on the “bandwagon of the far-right“…

Bought by a secretive collector for a rumored $117 million, this is the rarest and most expensive Lamborghini ever made. It’s built using anti-radar materials found in stealth fighters. Its cockpit is inspired by the Apache helicopter, and it seats only one.

Conceived of as a 50th-anniversary gift to celebrate the brand’s founding, the Lamborghini Egoista’s name could be interpreted in a few ways. Styled as a single-seater concept car, the Egoista’s name was meant to connote that only one person can enjoy it.
Housed in the Lamborghini Museum in headquarters Sant’Agata for years since its reveal in 2013, a private collector later convinced Lamborghini to sell him its birthday gift to itself.
The price? A reported $117 million, making the Egoista the most expensive Lamborghini in the world, and leagues ahead of the Lamborghini Veneno, another one-off. It even makes the Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail look like a bargain. Who says money doesn’t talk?
The Lamborghini Egoista may be the most expensive Lamborghini ever sold but that hardly means it’s the most beautiful or powerful.
The Egoista’s edgy, fighter jet-inspired styling was universally panned at the time, with critics worried about the design future of Lamborghini if this was the shape of things to come. On the other hand, the concept was a fully-functioning car, powered by the Lamborghini Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V10 with over 600 horsepower…
Free Speech or Reputation Repair? Meta’s Bid to Start Over Now It’s Politically Convenient

Mark Zuckerberg has a new message, this time with a promise to “restore free expression” across Meta’s platforms.
In a video statement released Tuesday, the Meta CEO acknowledged what critics have been shouting for years: the company’s content moderation policies “went too far.”
With a new plan to phase out third-party fact-checkers and replace them with a community-driven system, Zuckerberg says he’s putting the power back in the hands of users.
Whether this marks a genuine philosophical shift or a shrewd PR move remains for the public to decide.
After years of fumbling content moderation, alienating users, and infuriating people worldwide, Meta is desperate to rebrand. But beneath the veneer of “reform,” it will likely be hard for many to shake the feeling that this is just another well-polished PR maneuver.
Meta’s fact-checking program, introduced in the wake of the 2016 election to combat misinformation, became a lightning rod for criticism.
The idea was simple: enlist third-party experts to separate fact from fiction. The execution? Well, let’s just say it left a lot to be desired….
Public Health ‘Experts’ Set The Stage For A New Prohibition | Ep. 1509
Today on the Matt Walsh Show, our hallowed “public health authorities” and the Biden Administration are setting the stage for Prohibition 2.0 with a push to put cancer warning labels on alcohol. They claim that alcohol in any amount causes cancer.
But is that actually true? We’ll discuss. Also, Justin Trudeau steps down. Mark Zuckerberg claims that his platforms will once again embrace free speech and open expression—but should we trust him? And, a black NFL coach gets fired. Is it because he’s bad at his job, or is it racism? We’ll try to get to the bottom of that.
