A J6 protester pardoned by Trump was killed by an Indiana police officer over the weekend.

FOX 32 Chicago reported at 4:15 p.m. local time Sunday that 42-year-old Matthew W. Huttle of Hobart, Indiana, was stopped by a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop near the Pulaski County line.  Police say the deputy attempted to arrest Huttle after stopping him, but the civilian resisted.

The officer responded by firing his weapon and killing Huttle following a supposed fight.

“An altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer firing his weapon and fatally wounding the suspect,” the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Jasper County Sheriff Patrick Williamson released the following statement following the tragic incident:

“For full transparency, I requested the Indiana State Police to investigate this officer-involved shooting. The officer that is involved has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol and is our policy in these situations.

“Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased as any loss of life is traumatic to those that were close to Mr. Huttle. I will release the officer’s name once I have approval from the State Police Detectives.”

Fellow J6 political prisoner Richard Barnett of Arkansas, who was sentenced to four years in prison for bogus offenses after putting his feet on Pelosi’s desk during the protest, raised suspicions regarding the incident while noting his own experience.

“I want to know every d*mn detail,” Barnett wrote. “Right now I would be pretty touchy if someone tried to arrest me and put me through hell again and they better have a valid reason. I live in a right to carry state. Indiana is also a right to carry state.”..

DeepSeek hit by outages as users flock to Chinese AI startup | Radio Free Asia (RFA)

Wall Street’s main indices opened lower on Monday as DeepSeek’s surging popularity sparked a selloff in chipmaker Nvidia and other companies that stand to benefit from investment in AI technology.

WARNING: Why You SHOULDN’T Download China’s New DeepSeek AI App

China’s new DeepSeek AI app has taken the world by storm. It has sent tech stocks and the DOW crashing. It’s now the top free iPhone app. And it’s proving that China has at least the same level of AI tech as US companies like OpenAI.

But Glenn warns: DON’T download it! Glenn shares what a friend of his discovered when he tested the app: It won’t just censor information that goes against the Chinese Communist Party.

It will give it to you, delete it, and then lie about it, even going as far as deleting the proof that it lied. This suggests that the AI has a hidden filter. So, what else is this AI hiding?

Daycare worker accused of putting 4-year-old boy outside in 19-degree weather before placing him in empty indoor trash can

Around 1 p.m. Jan. 13, Anna Petrou placed a 4-year-old child in the alley of the Learning Lab for about 20 seconds, WLS-TV reported, citing Homewood police. The daycare center is in the 18700 block of Dixie Highway, and the village of Homewood is about a half hour south of Chicago.

Petrou then brought the child inside and placed the victim in an empty garbage can as a form of punishment, police added to the station.

The incident was reported to police that night, WLS said.

Petrou was charged with one misdemeanor count of endangering the life of a child and released pending a future court date, police said.

The child’s parents said they were shocked by what they called outright cruelty, WLS reported.

The parents told the station they didn’t find out about the incident until they picked up their son, and he told them the worker put him in a garbage can because he didn’t want to take a nap.

The parents noted to the station that the worker in question told them it was a joke.

Surveillance video inside the Learning Lab shows a daycare worker picking up the 4-year-old and placing him in a garbage can, WLS said. You can view a video report here that shows the garbage can incident…

Woman shoved into moving NYC subway train by homeless man who was arrested as recently as last week: NYPD

A 23-year-old straphanger was shoved by a homeless man into an incoming A train at a Manhattan subway station Monday morning — with bystanders leading cops to the suspect.

The victim struck the train and fell back onto the platform causing bruises to her face, hands, knees and shoulder. She is expected to survive, law enforcement sources said.

The shocking attack played out at the 175th Street station shortly after 9 a.m., when the 26-year-old suspect — identified by police as homeless vagrant Markeese Brazelis — pushed the unsuspecting victim into the train as it pulled in.

Meanwhile, Brazelis was nabbed by cops at the 181st Street station after alert bystanders took photos of the perp and showed them to cops who arrived.

Brazelis also has at least two prior arrests — including a Jan. 19 bust for entering the prohibited area of a Bergen Street subway station, according to sources.

He was charged with trespassing in Kings County Criminal Court and released without bail on Jan. 22, court records show.

On Dec. 21, he was also charged with third-degree sexual abuse in Manhattan for allegedly groping a woman on a C train at West 50th Street and Eighth Avenue, records show.

He was released without bail in both cases….

Abbott deploys Texas military to Rio Grande Valley to assist Trump administration

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott surged additional Texas military resources to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) to assist President Donald Trump with his border security efforts.

Abbott did so as removal operations are already underway in Trump’s first week in office after he issued a series of executive orders to secure the border, including sending 1,500 troops to Texas and California, The Center Square reported.

Abbott directed the Texas Military Department to deploy the Texas Tactical Border Force to the RGV to coordinate efforts with U.S. Border Patrol agents.

More than 400 troops are departing from military bases in Fort Worth and Houston Monday morning, as well as C-130s and Chinook helicopters, to join thousands of Texas National Guard soldiers already stationed at the Texas-Mexico border…

President Trump to Sign Executive Order Launching US Iron Dome

President Donald Trump will sign an executive order Monday to build an American version of the Israeli “Iron Dome” missile defense system.

An expert in national security—and in the Iron Dome, in particular—praised Trump’s action as the fulfillment of President Ronald Reagan’s strategic defense plan.

According to a news release provided early to The Daily Signal, Trump’s executive order “directs the implementation of a next generation missile defense shield for the United States against ballistic, hypersonic, advanced cruise missiles, and other next generation aerial attacks.”

The order “accelerates the development and deployment of Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor Layers, proliferated space-based interceptors, a Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, capabilities to defeat salvoes prior to launch, non-kinetic missile defense capabilities, and underlayer and terminal-phase intercept capabilities.”

The order directs a review of America’s current missile defense posture “to defend United States troops deployed abroad” and cooperation with U.S. partners and allies on missile defense technology…

Trump sending 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, lifts Biden administration hold

President Donald Trump lifted a Biden administration hold on the supply of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. Trump told reporters of his plans to do so on Saturday, Jan. 25.

“We released them,” Trump said. “We’ve released them today, and they’ll have them, and they paid for them. You know, they’ve been waiting for them for a long time, they’ve been in storage a long time, but we released them today.”

When asked by a reporter why he released the hold, Trump said, “Because they bought them.”

Trump posted to Truth Social, writing, “A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are on their way.”

Why did the Biden administration hold the bombs?

The widely expected move comes after Biden held the delivery of the 2,000-pound bombs in hopes it would deter Israel from launching an offensive in the southern Gaza town of Rafah.

However, the move was unsuccessful, as Israel eventually launched military operations, but only after the majority of Palestinians fled the city….

Trump’s deportation flights: Colombia, China, El Salvador cooperate

One week after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, immigration remains a key priority for his administration. Deportations are underway, with new agreements made with several countries to send migrants illegally in the U.S. back to Colombia and China.

Discussions are also ongoing for a broader arrangement with El Salvador. The country could allow the U.S. to deport migrants from various countries of origin to El Salvador, a small nation aligned with Trump’s immigration crackdown policies.

China has pledged to accept undocumented Chinese citizens back to their homeland. This followed a similar decision made by Colombia’s president on Sunday, Jan. 26.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Monday, Jan. 27, that the Chinese government would accept U.S. deportation flights for individuals confirmed as Chinese nationals who crossed illegally into the U.S.

The response from China follows Colombia’s reversal after initially denying two U.S. military planes carrying Colombian migrants. The planes were forced to turn back as Colombia’s president stated that deportations “should be carried out with dignity and respect.”..

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont Welcomes More Illegal Migrants to Take American Jobs

Jessica Hill/AP

Connecticut’s Democrat Governor Ned Lamont is proudly telling illegal migrants to feel free to move to his state as he is also pushing for even more H-1B migrants to take American jobs. “You’re welcome here,” Lamont said in a recent press conference.

CT Insider reported:

Last week, Lamont said, “My advice is, send your kids to school. My advice is, keep going to church. We don’t collect the immigration status of people who are going to church or kids who are at school. Our cops are busy trying to keep the streets safe, they’re not asking the immigration status of somebody who’s caught jaywalking or speeding.”

Lamont’s Attorney General William Tong added that Lamont’s administration “respects” and “honors” immigrants and will protect them…

Existing home sales fall to lowest level since 1995

The latest home sales numbers paint a discouraging picture for the real estate industry. Existing home sales fell in 2024 to the lowest level since 1995.

How many homes sold?

The National Association of Realtors reported 4.06 million existing homes sold in the U.S. last year. It’s a significant drop from the 5 million sold two years prior in 2022.

What are the key factors?

Two factors have hurt the market: high mortgage rates and lack of supply.

Housing costs are more expensive with the median listing price hitting an all-time high of $407,500 last year. That’s about a 5% increase from 2023.

According to Zillow, the interest rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage as of Monday, Jan. 27, is 6.74%. A 15-year fixed rate is 6.03%, and an Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM) is 6.69%.

Zillow Chief Executive Jeremy Wacksman told The Wall Street Journal that the real estate industry is suffering from an availability crisis. He said the shortage amounts to about 4.5 million homes.

He also said the housing market would have to see the Federal Reserve cut interest rates more than once or twice for mortgage rates to follow….

Federal court strikes down warrantless FISA backdoor searches as unconstitutional

  • A federal judge ruled that the U.S. government’s warrantless “backdoor searches” under Section 702 of FISA are unconstitutional, marking a major victory for privacy rights.
  • The case involved Agron Hasbajrami, whose communications were collected without a warrant under Section 702, which targets non-U.S. persons abroad but often sweeps up Americans’ data.
  • Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall emphasized that warrantless searches of U.S. persons’ data violate the Fourth Amendment, curbing unchecked government surveillance.
  • Section 702, set to expire in 2026, faces renewed scrutiny, with privacy advocates pushing for reforms like warrant requirements and increased transparency.
  • While Hasbajrami’s conviction stands, the ruling sets a precedent to limit government overreach and reaffirms constitutional protections against unreasonable searches.

In a landmark decision that reaffirms the sanctity of the Fourth Amendment, a federal judge has ruled that the U.S. government’s use of “backdoor searches” under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) is unconstitutional.

The ruling, issued by U.S. District Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall, marks a significant victory for privacy advocates and a rebuke of the government’s warrantless surveillance practices. The case centers on Agron Hasbajrami, a legal permanent resident arrested in 2011 for attempting to provide material support to a terrorist group. Authorities used evidence obtained through Section 702, which allows warrantless surveillance of non-U.S. persons abroad, but also swept up Hasbajrami’s communications in the process…

Multi-Agency Task Force Carries Out Enforcement Raids in Texas Cities

ICE Homeland Security Investigations

State and federal law enforcement agencies teamed up on Sunday to carry out targeted immigration enforcement operations in cities across the state. A federal official characterized the actions as in the interest of public safety and national security.

On Sunday evening, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in San Antonio posted photographs on X showing a multi-agency operation carrying out enforcement actions. The photos indicate the raids resulted in the arrests of dozens of migrants.

The task force included HSI, DEA, ATF, CBP, and the Texas Department of Public Safety law enforcement officers. The post indicates the task force took action to “enforce U.S. immigration law and preserve public safety and national security by keeping potentially dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that state troopers are partnering with the federal task forces across the state….
