DOGE employees identified, prosecution possible: US Attorney

After Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employees were identified on X, those responsible could be prosecuted.

Edward R. Martin Jr., U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, issued a statement Monday saying that he had evidence people “committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting” employees of DOGE.

The statement added: “We are in contact with FBI and other law-enforcement partners to proceed rapidly. We also have our prosecutors preparing.”

On Monday, Elon Musk quote tweeted screenshots of Reddit posts that fitted the description of Martin’s statement, saying “They have broken the law.”

Musk also reposted a tweet reporting threats against the DOGE team on Tuesday, adding: “Threatening or encouraging murder is a crime. Those who do so will go to prison.”

It followed a public letter Martin wrote to Musk on Monday morning, where he insisted, “We must keep all our American government employees safe,” offering his and his staff’s services to protect those employees by pursuing legal action where necessary.

Judge orders Trump prosecutors to dish in collusion case

A federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to turn over communications between ex-Trump prosecutor Jack Smith and the president’s Georgia antagonist, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, in what a legal watchdog group has called a case of collusion.

The order from U.S. District Judge Dabney L. Friedrich followed the end of Smith’s 2020 election interference case against President Donald Trump and Smith’s own resignation from his special prosecutor role.

Judicial Watch had sought the communications in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit but has been stalled by Smith and Justice, claiming that disclosing any information would hurt the prosecution.

Friedrich, based in Washington, said since there no longer is a case, turning over the documents won’t jeopardize any case.

Judicial Watch had been seeking communications between Smith’s office and the Fulton County district attorney “requesting or receiving federal funds or other federal assistance in any form relating to the investigation” of Trump and others in the 2020 election case. The group also sought any other communications between the two.

The stalling angered Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, who said, “President Trump truly needs to overhaul the Justice Department from top to bottom. It is a scandal that a federal court had to order the Justice Department to admit the truth that their objections to producing records about collusion with Fani Willis had no basis in reality.”

Trump’s team has been looking into cases former President Joe Biden’s Justice Department brought against the former and current president…

Senate panel advances Tulsi Gabbard nomination for DNI

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday advanced Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination to become the next director of national intelligence (DNI), putting her in position to get confirmed by the full chamber after key senators threw their support behind her.

The 9-8 vote was along party lines. It puts Gabbard only days away from being considered on the Senate floor after a roller-coaster process.

“The Intelligence Committee just voted for Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination to be the Director of National Intelligence favorably to the full United States Senate,” Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) told reporters after the closed-door vote.

“We look forward to her confirmation and working with her to keep America safe,” he added.

The vote took place only hours after Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.), a key GOP swing vote, announced that he would support her.

During Thursday’s confirmation hearing, the Indiana Republican was visibly frustrated after Gabbard refused to call Edward Snowden, the former contractor-turned-leaker who fled the U.S., a traitor on multiple occasions…

Freed Israeli Hostage: ‘My Body Is Here, But My Soul Is There In The Tunnels’

Ilana Gritzewsky may have been freed by Hamas, but she finds it hard to move on when her boyfriend and friends are still trapped in the tunnels of Gaza.

“My body’s here, but my soul is there in the tunnels. I can’t go on still. My boyfriend is there, my friends are there,” Gritzewsky told One America News.

Gritzewsky and her boyfriend Matan Zanguaker were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th, 2023 from Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Following a morning of missile attacks, Gritzewsky received a WhatsApp message saying that Hamas terrorists had penetrated the Kibbutz.

“They came into our home and started breaking and shooting everywhere. Matan held the door shut,” Gritzewsky said. “But they started shooting at the door and in that moment, my boyfriend shouts and says to open the window. Check that there is no one outside and jump. I’m coming after you.”

“So that is what I do,” Gritzewsky continues. “I jump and we start running in different directions. In that moment, I lost contact with my boyfriend. So I don’t know what happened to him.”

Gritzewsky saw a blanket on the ground near her neighbor’s house and put it over herself and hid behind a closet. At that moment, the only thing she could do was pray.

“I’m praying to God. That he helps me,” said Gritzewsky. “But it no help. And I hear the steps of the terrorists closing in on me. They are breaking the leaves.”

“They pull me off from the hair,” Gritzewsky added. “They kick me and throw me to the floor. They pull me up and throw me to the wall. They start with the weapons grinding them against me and kick me.”

They kept kicking Gritzewsky until they put her on the back of their motorcycle to transport her to a house.

The terrorists continued to beat Gritzewsky while they were driving.

“They burn my leg with the motorcycle,” Gritzewsky explained. “They break my hip. They move the jaw. I lost hearing in one ear because of a grenade. They touch me and when they start to touch me I lose consciousness because my body cannot support more pain.”

Gritzewsky woke up in a dark house, with perfume being sprayed into her nose.

“They put perfume in the nose and kick me in the face. So I can wake up,” said Gritzewsky. “They wake me, throw me a hijab and the skirt. So I look Arabic and they can take me to another house.”

When she arrived at the new house, the terrorist told her that this was her new life.

“I get to a home with terrorists. They say to me welcome to your new life,” Gritzewsky said.

“They sit and go and touch me and tell me, I’m beautiful. That I’m going to stay there. I’m going to make a family with them. I’m going to marry them. And I’m not going to go out from there.”…

How Many Employees Did the FBI Task With Investigating Trump Supporters?

FBI officials have caved to demands from the Justice Department, providing a list of agents involved in the J6 Capitol riot investigations — and it’s an insanely high number.

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove instructed FBI leadership to meet a deadline of noon Tuesday to submit the names of these agents and analysts. This follows his earlier directive to fire eight senior FBI officials.

CNN reports that “More than 5,000 names were submitted,” to the Justice Department in response to Bove’s demand.

To put it into proper context, there are only roughly 13,000 agents and 38,000 total FBI employees. This means that roughly 13% of the entire FBI was tasked with investigating protestors like these:

If that seems excessive to you, you’re not the only one.

CNN, of course, is outraged that the mask is off the anti-Trump Gestapo.

Meanwhile, officials dispatched by Elon Musk have been seen at FBI headquarters. Musk has headed up efforts by President Donald Trump’s newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

But several FBI employees on Tuesday sued the Justice Department, accusing it of violating the Constitution and privacy laws by demanding that agents complete a survey allegedly designed to “purge” bureau personnel.

The agents want a federal judge to block the Trump administration from publishing or releasing the surveys or any information included in their answers.

“The very act of compiling lists of persons who worked on matters that upset Donald Trump is retaliatory in nature, intended to intimidate FBI agents and other personnel, and to discourage them from reporting any future malfeasance and by Donald Trump and his agents,” the lawsuit alleges.

The survey agents were required to complete included questions about their roles at the bureau and their involvement in the January 6 investigations. According to a copy of the survey included in the lawsuit, agents were asked whether they had executed arrests, participated in grand jury proceedings, or testified at trials. The lawsuit, filed as a class-action complaint, was brought by several anonymous FBI employees..

Detectives on Tuesday arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping a 5-year-old girl in Staten Island, police said.

Working off tips, cops tracked Dominique Giles, 30, to W. 124th St. near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. in Harlem early Tuesday and took him into custody without incident.

He had been sought for the horrifying Jan. 22 assault that took place in a home near the corner of Richmond Terrace and Sharpe Ave. in Port Richmond around 5:40 a.m., cops said.

The victim and Giles knew each other.

After Giles assaulted the girl, he took off on foot, police said. Medics took the girl to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

Police released images of Giles on Wednesday, asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Cops charged Giles with multiple counts of rape, as well as sexual abuse, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child. His arraignment in Staten Island Criminal Court was pending Tuesday.

He had just one prior arrest in the city for criminal mischief in April 2024, police said….

ICE Arrests Wanted Criminal Suspects, Venezuelan Gang Members

Multiple gang members and illegal aliens were apprehended by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorities in recent days amid President Donald Trump’s crackdown against illegal immigration.

On Jan. 28, ICE officials arrested three Venezuelan illegal immigrants from El Paso, Texas, according to a Feb. 3 statement from the agency.

This included two active associates of the Tren de Aragua gang—Jhonatan Johan Romero-Pineda, 34, and Uzcategui-Uzcategui, 27. Both remain in ICE custody pending removal.

Originating as a prison gang in Aragua, Venezuela, Tren de Aragua is known to engage in human smuggling and other illicit activities targeting migrants transnationally, according to the U.S. Treasury.

The third arrested Venezuelan, 27-year-old Javier Irazabal-Rodriguez, was convicted last May of sexually assaulting a child and was sentenced to 10 years of probation. ICE released him on an order of supervision this past week after his latest arrest….

Trump plans to attend Super Bowl 2025, becoming first sitting president to do so

President Trump plans to attend Sunday’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, becoming the first sitting commander in chief to attend America’s biggest annual sporting event, The Post has learned.

The planned presence of Trump, 78, at the Caesars Superdome was first reported by Punchbowl News and confirmed by federal law enforcement sources.

While the full traveling party has yet to be announced, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem are expected to join the president at the game, sources familiar with the planning confirmed to The Post.

Trump’s attendance will necessitate an extra layer of security across New Orleans, with the game taking place 39 days after an ISIS-inspired terrorist drove a truck through crowds celebrating New Year’s Eve on Bourbon Street, killing 14 people and injuring dozens more.

Trump also is recording an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, which will air on the Fox network’s pregame show at 3 p.m. ahead of the 6:30 p.m. kickoff between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs…

Legal Immigration Hits Record High in France as Populists Call for National Referendum

Provisional data released by the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday showed that the number of visas issued by France increased by 17 per cent last year to 2,858,083, including 288,108 long-term stay visas.

Students received the most residence permits, 109,300, followed by familial migrants — also known as chain migrants — at 90,600. Economic and humanitarian migrants comprised the third-largest cohort, with 55,000 residence permits received.

According to Le Figaro, this brings the total number of people with valid residence permits in the country to over 4.3 million, a new high for France.

Migrants from Algeria, a former French colony, were the highest-represented group, with nearly 650,000 residence permits.

The figures showed that just 21,000 illegal migrants were removed from the country in 2024. However, this was slightly up from the previous year when 17,000 were expelled.

Commenting on the figures, the leader of the anti-mass migration National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, said: “It is no longer possible for the French to be satisfied with words and empty declarations; we must now take action and implement the necessary measures to regain control of our migration policy.”..

Senators in the committee voted on Tuesday morning. All eyes were on Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who announced right before the vote that he would, in fact, vote yes on Kennedy.

“I’ve had very intense conversations with Bobby and the White House over the weekend and even this morning,” he wrote, signaling that Vice President JD Vance was involved in pushing Kennedy across the finish line in the committee.

“I want to thank VP JD specifically for his honest counsel. With the serious commitments I’ve received from the administration and the opportunity to make progress on the issues we agree on like healthy foods and a pro-American agenda, I will vote yes,” the senator added.

President Donald Trump also released a pro-Kennedy statement ahead of the vote…

Doug Collins Confirmed To Lead Department Of Veterans Affairs

The Senate has confirmed GOP Representative Doug Collins to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.

On Tuesday, Collins was confirmed following a 77-to-23 vote — one of the widest bipartisan votes of any Trump Cabinet nominee so far.

Collins had served in congress from 2013 to 2021.

Last month, he also passed through the Veterans’ Affairs Committee on a wide bipartisan vote, with only Senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) voting against him.

When accepting his nomination last November, Collins vowed to “fight tirelessly to streamline and cut regulations in the VA, root out corruption, and ensure every veteran receives the benefits they’ve earned.”

Collins will now lead an agency plagued by previous budget cuts, millions paid to unqualified executives, and complaints from a large majority of veterans regarding excessive wait times for care, which occurred under the Biden administration.

It will also be his first time running an agency as large as the Department of Veterans Affairs. It has around 400,000 employees and 1,300 health facilities…

UPDATE 1730: In a press conference, police said that about 10 people have died, including the suspect, as a result of the school shooting in Örebro, Expressen reports.

Several people were also hospitalised, including five for gunshot wounds. The police said that the suspect, a 35-year-old male, was not known to them before the attack, and there are currently no links to terrorism or gang activity.

UPDATE 1450: The Aftonbladet newspaper reports that the suspected shooter has died after shooting himself and was, therefore, included among the gunshot victims. The paper said that five people were brought to hospital, four of whom had surgery. Two are reported to be stable, one was only slightly injured, while another is seriously injured. Police have so far not commented on whether any teachers or students were injured during the attack. The paper went on to claim that “several” people have died in the shooting, however, this has yet to be confirmed by officials.

UPDATE 1350:
According to the Expressen newspaper, the suspected shooter has shot himself. Yet, police say that it is too early to know if there were more than one perpetrator. Despite initial reports, police say that no officers were shot during the incident, but they did exchange fire with the suspect. Police spokesman Gabriel Henning confirmed that five people were shot, but their conditions are not known.

Ukraine says it needs nukes — or NATO membership — to keep Russia from attacking the West

Three decades after Ukraine agreed to give up its atomic weapons, the country’s president says Kyiv is prepared to become a nuclear power again should it not be granted accession to NATO.

“Let them give us nuclear weapons. Will they give us the missiles in the quantities that we can stop Russia? And I’m not sure of that, but I think it would help,” Volodymyr Zelensky told Piers Morgan in an interview to be broadcast Tuesday night.

“Otherwise, what missiles can stop Russia’s nuclear missiles?” the Ukrainian president asked. “That is a rhetorical question.”

Under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine agreed to give up nuclear weapons it had inherited from the former Soviet Union.

In exchange, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States agreed not to use military force or economic coercion against Ukraine unless in self-defense “or otherwise in accordance with” the United Nations charter.

In the 30 years and two months since the agreement was signed, Russia has invaded Ukraine twice — killing or injuring hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians over the past three years alone.

Ukraine first applied for NATO membership in 2008.

In that period, the Atlantic alliance has grown from 26 nations to 32 with the additions of Albania, Croatia, Finland, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Sweden…

In echo of Trump, Ecuador announces tariff on Mexican imports

  • Ecuador is now entering the tariff fray. Its president announced that it is levying a 27% fee on Mexican goods entering the country.
  • The two countries have been at odds, diplomatically, since the arrest of an Ecuadorian official last year, inside the Mexican Embassy.
  • The president of Ecuador is an ally of Donald Trump who attended the inauguration and is now up for reelection himself on Sunday.

The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, entered the tariff fray on Monday, Feb. 3. He announced that his country is slapping a 27% levy on Mexican goods coming into the South American country.

Why is Ecuador targeting Mexico?

Noboa said the move is aimed at boosting local manufacturers. However, some believe it might be an attempt to curry favor with the Trump administration.

What is the connection to the Trump administration?

Noboa attended the Trump inauguration last month in Washington and called Trump’s election win a victory for Latin America.

Why are relations between Ecuador and Mexico strained?

Ecuador is currently locked in a diplomatic dispute with Mexico, stemming from the arrest of former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas last year. Police broke into the Mexican Embassy to take him into custody…

Report: Trump Ordered DOJ Firings

President Donald Trump directly ordered the Justice Department to fire more than a dozen prosecutors who worked on the criminal cases against him, The Guardian reported Tuesday.

It has been reported Trump administration officials were moving to fire FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors who had been engaged in investigations involving Trump.

Acting Attorney General James McHenry fired more than a dozen officials who worked on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecutions of Trump because they could not be trusted to “faithfully” implement the president’s agenda, Fox News reported.

McHenry took action, but the genesis for the firings was Trump himself, The Guardian reported.

The outlet added the White House presidential personnel office issued a memo that directed DOJ to proceed.

Newsmax contacted the White House seeking comment.

The Justice Department has not commented on the personnel moves.

Trump campaigned on rooting out weaponization of the government that the DOJ and FBI exhibited under former President Joe Biden before winning all seven battleground states and securing a second term in the White House….
