Victim reacts after man who allegedly strangled her got ‘lenient’ plea deal in Fairfax Co.

 Wilmer Osmany Ramos Giron

7News was the first to report that Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano’s office, in a plea agreement, dropped a felony charge against Wilmer Osmany Ramos Giron for allegedly strangling a woman in exchange for a guilty plea for brandishing a machete/blade in January, which is a misdemeanor, according to court documents 7News obtained.

Originally, the charges Ramos Giron faced in January 2025 were felony abduction by force, felony strangulation, and misdemeanor assault on a family member, the court documents showed.

If Ramos Giron was convicted of the original charges, he would have faced up to 15-16 years in prison. But since Descano’s office agreed to a plea deal, he only served around two months at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, and now he’s back out in the community, according to court documents and the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office.

After Descano’s office claimed the agreement was what the victim wanted, 7News Reporter Nick Minock called the victim to find out if that was true.

Minock spoke to the victim on Friday evening and Monday morning.

The victim told 7News that she was told by attorneys that Ramos Giron would serve 15-16 years in prison, and she agreed with that because she feared for her safety. She said she told the prosecutor he was harassing her.

She said she told the prosecutor she feared something would happen again….

China continues its arms race with its latest military breakthrough: KD-21 missile

China has once again challenged the Western alliance militarily. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force deployed a bomber with two KD-21 medium-range missiles during a training exercise near its coast.

This missile, according to a report by Defense Mirror, has a range of between 800 and 1,250 miles depending on the altitude from which it is launched.

This arsenal represents one of the latest military advances by the Asian country. The modernization of the PLA was noted by the Pentagon in a report published in December 2024, in which it stated that China is expanding and improving different aspects of the different divisions of its military.

In that report, picked up by AFP, it was detailed that China was developing new intercontinental ballistic missiles that will “considerably” improve its force.

As a result, a U.S. intelligence study released at the end of March showed that the PLA and China constitute one of the main and greatest threats to the country’s global interests.

Meanwhile, China has continued its military tests near Taiwan. In recent days, the White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, condemned the military maneuvers executed by the PLA around the island nation in which they simulated a naval blockade….

X announces stricter rules for parody accounts

X is implementing stricter rules on parody accounts.

Beginning on Thursday, April 10, accounts on the social media platform that impersonate another user or person must display key phrases such as “fake,” “fan”, “commentary” or “parody” preceding their account name.

X will also mandate parody account owners to use different images from the X accounts belonging to the person or user they are imitating.

The move comes as some X users complain parody accounts have led to confusion on the platform, for example, those impersonating the social media company’s owner Elon Musk.

X released a statement on Friday, April 4, announcing the new rules.

“These changes are designed to help users better understand the unaffiliated nature of the PCF accounts and reduce the risk of confusion or impersonation.”Statement from social media platform X

X urged users with parody accounts to update their accounts by April 10….

Massachusetts Nurses in One Hospital Unit Diagnosed with Brain Tumors

A troubling development has occurred at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts, as multiple nurses working in the same unit have been diagnosed with brain tumors. The cases have prompted investigations by both the hospital and the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), raising questions about potential environmental or occupational causes.

As of April 1, officials from Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital told NBC10 Boston they have interviewed 11 staffers from various shifts on the fifth-floor maternal care labor and delivery unit.

So far, they’ve identified five cases of three different types of brain tumors, all benign. Six other cases were ruled out as brain tumors and classified as “other health concerns.”

However, a nurse recently diagnosed with a brain tumor claims that as many as 10 employees on the floor have been struck by different brain tumors in recent years — some of which were cancerous.

NATO Senior Official Chatfield Fired by Trump Admin

Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, who holds a senior position in NATO, was fired as part of what appears to be an expanding national security purge of top officials by the Trump administration, three sources told Reuters on Monday.

The information was not immediately confirmed by the Pentagon. However, the sources told Reuters that allies were notified that Chatfield was removed.

Chatfield, the U.S. military representative to the NATO Military Committee, is one of only a handful of female Navy three-star officers and was the first woman to lead the Naval War College, a job she held until 2023.

The firing is the latest to rock the Pentagon after Thursday’s removal of General Timothy Haugh, the head of the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command. For the Navy, it follows the firing of its top officer, Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the first woman to become Chief of Naval Operations….

Bombshell Study Reveals How Many Leftists Support Killing Trump and Musk

A disturbing new report has uncovered a troubling trend: violent political rhetoric — including open calls for the assassination of public figures like President Donald Trump and Elon Musk — is rapidly becoming normalized on the left.

According to the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), more people are now not only rationalizing politically motivated violence but celebrating it as some twisted form of social justice. The shift is alarming, and the data shows that it’s been accelerating in recent months.

“What was formerly taboo culturally has become acceptable,” Joel Finkelstein, the founder of NCRI, told Fox News Digital. “We are seeing a clear shift – glorification, increased attempts and changing norms – all converging into what we define as ‘assassination culture.’”

The NCRI study links this cultural shift to the December 2024 assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson by Luigi Mangione. In the aftermath, researchers observed a disturbing surge of viral memes glorifying Mangione, which effectively turned him into a folk hero among certain corners of the internet. As a result, there has been a surge of copycat behavior targeting wealthy and conservative public figures.

“It’s not just Luigi anymore,” Finkelstein, the lead author of the report, explained. “We’re seeing an expansion: Trump, Musk and others are now being openly discussed as legitimate targets, often cloaked in meme culture and gamified online dialogue.”

The recent ballot measure in California named after Mangione is just one example of this phenomenon.

“These are not isolated opinions,” the report says. “They are part of a tightly connected belief system linked to what we call left-wing authoritarianism.”…

Public-sector workers spent 87,000 hours screwing you — just at one agency, just in two years

Unionized workers at the Defense Health Agency, tasked with overseeing benefits for US troops, spent 87,000 hours (and $3.3 million) during fiscal 2023 and 2024 doing union work instead of their actual jobs.

You read that right: 87,000 hours.

That’s equivalent to 3,625 days, almost a full man-hour decade.

Burned up by staffers tending to their own interests, to the detriment of the troops they’re nominally charged with helping and the taxpayers they’re answerable to: They spent those hours doing things like contract renegotiation and fringe-benefit squeeze-outs.

This info comes in a bombshell new report unearthed by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a veteran and a fierce advocate for the troops as well as a staunch fighter against fraud and waste as head of the Senate DOGE caucus…
