Trump Orders DOJ to Secure Release of Tina Peters, Calls Her a “Political Prisoner” in Scathing Statement

“The Defendant Tina Peters has a broad-based appeal pending to the Colorado Court of Appeals,” Ticktin wrote, noting that she has also filed a federal habeas corpus petition under 28 U.S.C. § 2254 due to “severe health concerns and the injustice of detention.”

In his directive, Trump sharply criticized Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser and the judge who sentenced Peters, alleging political motivations and constitutional violations. “Radical Left Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser ignores Illegals committing Violent Crimes like Rape and Murder in his State and, instead, jailed Tina Peters,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “Tina is an innocent Political Prisoner being horribly and unjustly punished in the form of Cruel and Unusual Punishment.”

He continued: “I am hereby directing the Department of Justice to take all necessary action to help secure the release of this ‘hostage’ being held in a Colorado prison by the Democrats, for political reasons. FREE TINA PETERS, NOW!”

Peters was found guilty of three felony charges last fall after she made a forensic image of Mesa County’s Dominion Voting System servers—an act she said was intended to preserve evidence of election tampering. Prosecutors argued she bypassed security protocols and violated chain-of-custody laws. During sentencing, the judge reportedly chastised Peters and invoked racial language, telling her she had “white privilege,” according to posts by David J Harris Jr.

In his amicus brief, Ticktin contends that Peters’ actions were not criminal but constitutionally protected whistleblowing. “She has been prosecuted for exposing criminal misconduct of other Colorado officials,” the brief asserts, further accusing the Colorado Attorney General of obstructing official proceedings under 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c).

The case has become a flashpoint in the ongoing political debate over election integrity, whistleblower protections, and the prosecution of officials tied to 2020 election controversies.

Peters, now imprisoned and in poor health, remains a cause célèbre among election integrity advocates and Trump allies who argue her imprisonment is intended to intimidate others who question the conduct of the 2020 election…

CA gas could hit $8.44 per gallon in 2026 due to refinery closures, regulations

A new analysis has found California gasoline prices could rise to $8.44 per gallon by the end of 2026 after the pending closure of two refineries — one-fifth of the state’s refining capacity — and the onset of new state regulations.

California gas prices are the nation’s highest, at $4.78 per gallon for regular-grade gasoline Tuesday, per AAA

The new study from University of Southern California professor Michael A. Mische examined California’s historical gas prices, oil supply and refining capacity, and modeled the likely impact of refinery closures and costly new fossil fuel and refinery fees and regulations.

“The shutdown of the two California-based refineries could possibly place the Golden State in a precarious economic situation and create a gasoline deficit potentially ranging from 6.6 million to 13.1 million gallons a day, as defined by the shortfall between consumption and production,” wrote Mische. “Reductions in fuel supplies of this magnitude will resonate throughout multiple supply chains affecting production, costs, and prices across many industries such as air travel, food delivery, agricultural production, manufacturing, electrical power generation, distribution, groceries and healthcare.”

Mische said the high delta between California gas prices and that of other states is the result of state taxes and fees, and policies that have reduced in-state oil production and refining capacity faster than gasoline demand has fallen…

Exclusive: See The ‘Airtight’ Methodology Showing 11% Of Pill Abortions Cause Maternal Injury

The most comprehensive U.S. study of the abortion pill excluded tens of thousands of insurance claims from its analysis of mifepristone-linked complications to ensure it did not exaggerate the harms the abortion drug could inflict on women.

The exclusion of those data points further legitimizes findings that 10.9 percent of women suffered sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or other serious complications within 45 days of a chemical abortion.

It also puts to bed criticisms raised by bad-faith actors who questioned researchers’ conclusions that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration should reinstate mifepristone safeguards or potentially rescind its approval altogether.

Corporate media, which have spent the years since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision aiding Democrats’ abortion for all agenda, largely ignored the landmark study. Those outlets that did mention it claimed the “bogus” findings were “junk science” that stemmed from “bad data.”

Methodology documents obtained by The Federalist, however, show 72 percent (or 98,483) of the emergency room visits represented across the Medicaid, TRICARE, Medicare, Department of Veterans Affairs, and private medical insurance claims purchased for the study were excluded because they were either unrelated to the abortion pill or failed to meet the medically serious threshold outlined by the National Institutes of Health

This Man Was Just Arrested For Murdering A Retired Cop. Now He’s Being Hailed As A Hero. | Ep. 1590

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, this will sound like a rerun. A guy committed cold-blooded murder, and now the social media mob is rallying around him. In this case, the victim was a retired police officer. This is the third killer in the past few months to find a cheering section on social media.

What the hell is going on? Also, Trump delivers a perfect response to the totally fake “AI Pope Trump” controversy. And the state of Virginia passes a law restricting social media use for kids. I’m told this is a slippery slope and “government overreach.” I’m not persuaded.

The Department of Education Fails Students and You Pay For It (Again)

Half the Department of Education’s been fired or chose to leave!

Surely all those people were doing something?

“They weren’t!” says Corey DeAngelis. “They were pushing paper, taking 6 figure salaries, and that’s why things haven’t changed much with half the Department gone.”

Trump removes Biden-appointed NTSB vice chair as airport chaos escalates

A White House official confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Alvin Brown has been removed from his position but did not elaborate as to why.

Brown was appointed to a five-year term on the five-member board in March 2024, then promoted to vice chairman in December. Aviation safety experts told the Washington Post that the move is unprecedented in recent history.

“This is the first time in modern history that the White House has removed a board member,” former NTSB investigator Jeff Guzzetti told the outlet.

Sources told the outlet that Brown was blocked from entering his office on Tuesday but that he was later escorted in.

Brown’s firing comes as the administration has scrambled to address a slew of problems with air travel safety, mainly a shortage of air traffic controllers, flight delays, and outdated Federal Aviation Administration technology.

The administration has taken a much more hands-on approach across the executive branch than others in recent memory, firing high-ranking personnel in typically bipartisan agencies. The president has fired Democratic members of the Federal Trade Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Merit Systems Protection Board, Federal Election Commission, and other agencies. Most of these firings have been met by legal challenges.

Trump’s overhaul of the NTSB is seen as particularly urgent due to public scrutiny of air travel following January’s midair collision between an Army Black Hawk helicopter and a Bombardier CRJ700, killing 67 people.

Concerns were highlighted again in late April, when air traffic controllers at Newark Liberty International Airport lost contact with several incoming flights due to a damaged copper wire for about 30 seconds. Hundreds of flights at the airport have since been canceled or delayed in and out of the nation’s 14th-busiest airport….

Supreme Court allows Trump administration to enforce trans military ban

J. Scott Applewhite, Associated Press file

The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed President Trump’s administration to begin enforcing a ban on transgender troops serving openly in the military, undermining two lower court decisions and handing a victory to an administration that has broadly sought to restrict transgender rights.

The Justice Department asked the justices in an emergency application last month to lift a Seattle-area federal judge’s nationwide injunction blocking the policy, which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth put forward following an executive order Trump issued days into his second term.

The justices paused the injunction until the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit rules on the Trump administration’s appeal and the high court has the chance to consider whether to hear the case.

The court’s three liberal justices publicly dissented.

Solicitor General D. John Sauer wrote in last month’s application to the Supreme Court that the policy is “materially indistinguishable” from the one Trump ordered during his first term, which the Supreme Court enabled him to enforce.

That policy banned transgender service members but made an exception for some who had already started to transition, in line with rules put in place during former President Obama’s administration. The new policy makes no such exception, deeming any service member with a current diagnosis, history or symptoms of gender dysphoria unfit for military service….

‘Death to the Police’: Antifa Mob Takes Over University Building, Lights Fires Over Gaza War

(Photo by JASON REDMOND/AFP via Getty Images)

Police arrested dozens of protesters at the University of Washington on Monday night after an antifa-style mob lit fires and took over a building to protest Israel.

“About 30 individuals who occupied” an engineering studies building were arrested and will be referred for prosecution, a university spokesperson said in a Tuesday statement.

Videos posted on X by journalists showed black-clothed agitators leading the riot and calling for violence against police, the latest in a long line of unlawful outbursts targeting the university over its supposed financial ties to Israel.

Death to the police! Abolish the police,” one protester yelled at officers outdoors as they cleared others from the building, according to video footage shared by Cam Higby on X. “Every cop death is a victory for the resistance,” a protester can be heard shouting.

Protesters were seen starting a “dumpster fire” on the campus, camping out in the engineering building and blocking entrances with objects such as propped-up chairs and their bodies, footage shows. Protesters also displayed a Palestinian flag in a window of the facility.

When police officers and private security personnel came toward the building, protesters were recorded forming lines, advancing on them and prompting them to retreat. Some confronting the police appeared to carry makeshift shields made from pieces of garbage cans….

Trump: US to Stop Bombing Houthis After Agreement Struck

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the U.S. will stop bombing the Houthis in Yemen after the Iran-aligned group agreed to stop interrupting important shipping lanes in the Middle East.

In an Oval Office meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Trump announced the Houthis have said that they no longer want to fight but did not elaborate on the message.

“They said please don’t bomb us any more and we’re not going to attack your ships,” Trump said.

There was no immediate response from the Houthis. The Houthis have been firing at Israel and at shipping in the Red Sea since Israel began its military offensive against Hamas in Gaza after the Palestinian militant group’s deadly attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The president said Washington will take the Houthis’ word that they would not be blowing up ships any longer…
