Obama-Appointed Judge Strikes Down Red State Law Against Providing ‘Harmful’ Sexual Content To Minors
A federal judge ruled Monday that an Arkansas law allowing for the prosecution of librarians and booksellers who distribute sexually explicit content to minors is unconstitutional.
Obama-appointed Judge Timothy Brooks struck down the law stating that it is “vaguely worded” and “violates the due process rights of professional librarians and booksellers and the First Amendment rights of library and bookstore patrons.” The penalty for anyone allowing minors to access inappropriate content would have been up to a year of jail time.
“The Court therefore concludes that Plaintiffs have established as a matter of law that Section 5 would permit, if not encourage, library committees and local governmental bodies to make censorship decisions based on content or viewpoint, which would violate the First Amendment,” Brooks wrote in the court’s opinion.
The law would have given elected officials the final say over what content is allowed to remain available for minors, according to the bill’s text.
Attorney General Tim Griffin is planning to appeal the ruling, according to the Arkansas Advocate.
Several states have been taking steps to protect minors from harmful content, with Florida removing pornographic and violent content from children’s libraries since 2022. Other states such as Illinois have signed legislation preventing the removal of explicit content for minors….
Illegal migrant was deported twice but kept sneaking back before fatal wrong-way crash that killed off-duty Las Vegas cop
An illegal migrant who killed an off-duty Las Vegas police officer in a wrong-way crash this month had been deported twice — but kept sneaking back into the country, authorities said.
Mexican citizen Fernando Jimenez-Jimenez, 31, was driving his Ford F-150 the wrong way on Interstate 15 on Dec. 12 when his vehicle crashed head on with Officer Colton Pulsipher, who was heading home from his shift, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Both the Jimenez and Pulsipher were pronounced dead at the scene.
Jimenez, 31, entered the US twice in 2019, when he was deported back to Mexico each time, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told local news outlets.
Jimenez later applied for admission into the US in Brownsville, Texas, in 2020, but failed to show for his immigration hearing a year later leading the judge to order his deportation in his absence, ICE said. But by that time, he was already roaming the country.
Cops found marijuana and alcohol when they searched Jimenez’s truck, according to KVVU. Meanwhile, a toxicology report is still pending…
Sailors greeted with tears and cheers as USS Cole returns to home port ahead of Christmas
Hundreds of sailors and their loved ones got an early Christmas present morning when the USS Cole docked at its home port in Norfolk, Virginia after seven months at sea.
The ship was greeted at Naval Station Norfolk on Monday with cheering from a crowd bundled in coats and blankets. They shed tears of gratitude and shared long embraces as sailors hugged beaming children. Some held flower bouquets and signs bearing their family members’ names and photos.
“Welcome home,” one read. “We are so proud of you.”
The USS Cole, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, deployed for 224 days to the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Arabian Gulf, providing protection and defense to U.S. allies and partners in Europe and Africa, according to a press release from the U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
USS Cole Cmdr. Matthew Faulkenberry said it’s not often that a ship returns to home port so close to the holidays.
“No one expects it — our return homeport so close to Christmas,” he told WVEC-TV. “So back just in time.”..

IRS: 1 Million Taxpayers Getting $1,400 Rebate
One million taxpayers will be getting up to a $1,400 rebate from the IRS in the coming weeks.
The IRS said the payments will be sent out to taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns. The IRS said it made the discovery after going through internal data.
The payments will be directly deposited or sent by check, The Hill reported Tuesday. The payments will go out this month and should be received by the end of January, according to The Hill. Eligible taxpayers will be notified about the payment in a separate letter, the IRS said.
All told, the IRS will be returning to taxpayers about $2.4 billion.
“The IRS continues to work hard to make improvements and help taxpayers,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said in a statement. “These payments are an example of our commitment to go the extra mile for taxpayers.”
Even taxpayers who never filed a 2021 return could be eligible for the rebate, but they must file before an April 15 deadline, according to The Hill. The payment will be sent to a taxpayer’s bank account listed on their 2023 return or address of record, the IRS said….
Toyota to donate $1 million to Trump inauguration
A spokesperson for Toyota confirmed the inauguration donation to The Hill on Tuesday.
Toyota joins Ford and a number of other companies in pledging significant donations to Trump’s inauguration. Ford is reportedly donating $1 million.
Meta and Amazon both handed over seven-figure donations of their own to the president-elect’s inaugural fund last week. Open AI CEO Sam Altman has also said he would give $1 million out of his personal wealth.

Close to two dozen Tren de Aragua gang members arrested in NYC apartment complex next to daycare
Federal agents arrested a crew of Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members in a Bronx apartment after tracking one of their ankle monitors to the hideout, which is reportedly next to a daycare facility.
According to the New York Post, the raid happened on December 5th at an apartment building on the edge of Crotona Park. It was conducted by a federal task force made up of Homeland Security Investigators and the New York Police Department (NYPD).
The bust landed seven alleged gang members in handcuffs, including a troublesome 28-year-old Venezuelan national who was wearing a court-ordered monitoring device that led the agents to the entire group.
Members of TdA have illegally crossed the southern border to get inside of the United States and gained a foothold in New York City, among other cities across the country.
Law enforcement officials said the gang has recruited inside tax-funded migrant shelters and runs violent theft and robbery crews while peddling drugs, guns, and women throughout the five boroughs.
Former Denver ICE chief John Fabbricatore said, “What we’re seeing is this evolution of Tren de Aragua, where they’ve gone into these sanctuary cities. They’ve started to solidify themselves and then they throw tentacles out to multiple other locations where they think that they can continue to make money. I think people are finally starting to realize how bad the situation has gotten.”

This year, Paul is highlighting over $1 trillion in government waste, which includes “ice-skating drag queens, a $12 Million Las Vegas pickleball complex, $4,840,082 on Ukrainian influencers, and more!”
“No matter how much money the government has wasted, politicians keep demanding even more,” he wrote.
Coinciding with this year’s report is the rising popularity of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the overall desire to slash government waste.
One of the major areas of waste identified in the report is fairly simple: The government must stop spending $10 billion on empty buildings.
Paul also highlighted the government’s waste on commodities, such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) installing solar-powered picnic tables for $237,960.

‘Orwellian’ — Rand Paul Festivus Report Shows Feds Spent Millions Torturing Cats
The U.S. government spent millions of dollars on experiments torturing cats, compliments of the U.S. taxpayers.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) highlighted over $1 trillion in government waste in this year’s Festivus report, but there seems to be a few that involve our feline friends, uncovered by the White Coat Waste Project.
According to the report, the Department of Defense (DOD) spent $10,851,439 on what it describes as an “Orwellian Cat Experiment.” The experiment was completed under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) at the University of Pittsburgh.
The experiment involved slicing the back of male cats, exposing their spinal cords. Researchers then used electrodes which “fired off electric shocks while the incision was still open to make cats have an erection.”
It gets worse, as researchers continued to torture cats, shocking them up to ten minutes at a time and severing their spinal cords:
But the horror doesn’t end there. These cats were then subjected to even more electric shocks, sometimes for up to 10 minutes at a time, before having their spinal cords severed to paralyze their lower bodies. And just for good measure, the shocks continued for another 10 minutes. All this, in the name of “science.”
In another shocking DARPA-funded experiment, researchers “attached electrodes to cats’ spinal cords and inserted condom- balloons into their colons and marbles into their rectums.”

MS-13 gangster wanted for murder, terrorism in El Salvador arrested living illegally in NJ
A known MS-13 gang member wanted for years for murder and terrorism in El Salvador has been busted living illegally in New Jersey.
The arrest Friday of Johnathan Stanley Garcia-Vasquez in West New York ends a troubling saga stretching from June 2016, when he was stopped — then released — while crossing the border illegally in Texas, the Newark office of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Monday.
The “known member of the MS-13 criminal organization” is finally awaiting deportation to El Salvador, where he has been wanted for six years on a warrant for aggravated homicide and terrorism charges, ICE said of the “transnational criminal.”
The gangster, who also goes by Johnathan Stanley Garcia-Garcia, was first stopped while crossing illegally into Hidalgo, Texas, in June 2016, ICE said.
He was issued an order of expedited removal and detained by ICE until Jan. 27, 2017, when he posted bond and was released.
A judge in San Miguel, El Salvador, issued an arrest warrant for him on Aug. 7, 2018, for aggravated homicide and participating in a terrorist organization, ICE said, without detailing the crimes…
Illegal Alien, Accused of Killing 12-Year-Old Travis Wolfe, Freed from Jail to Spend Holidays with Family
Endrina Bracho, an illegal alien from Venezuela, was charged in March with one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of child endangerment, and one count of driving without a license after allegedly causing a December 2023 crash that left Wolfe dead and his parents, Timothy and Stephanie Wolfe, injured.
A year after the crash, Bracho is out of jail without paying bail thanks to a decision from Judge Bruce Hilton. Bracho’s lawyer told local media that part of Hilton’s decision centered on allowing the accused to spend time with her family during the Christmas holiday.
“What about my family? We don’t get to go see Travis,” Wolfe’s sister Taylor told FOX2 Now. “He doesn’t get to come home and see us. She took that from us.”
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who has raised awareness around the case, blasted Hilton’s decision to free Bracho from jail ahead of trial.
“I am told the criminal illegal alien who murdered 12-year-old Travis Wolfe of St. Charles has been released pending a future trial,” Hawley wrote on X: This is a gross miscarriage of justice. She killed Travis one year ago today. She is present in the U.S. illegally & a flight risk. She should be in prison every single day until tried. Even worse: the illegal alien did NOT have to pay bond. [Emphasis added]
In April, Hawley revealed that Bracho arrived at the United States-Mexico border sometime in 2023 and was released into the U.S. interior by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This revelation came after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials told Breitbart News that they could not comment on Bracho’s immigration status “due to privacy.”…

ABC 11 reported that Horan arrived on scene, confronted the man, and “a brief struggle ensued.” During the struggle, the man pulled his firearm and shot Horan, killing him.
The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office noted, “The suspect fled the scene and was taken into custody by law enforcement after a high speed chase that ended near the Duplin County.”
Horan joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 2000 and became a police officer in 2018. He was a husband and a father.
