- by Dan MitchellBased on a video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity back in 2010, as well a video from Johan Norberg I shared in 2016, there’s a lot to learn by looking at Swedish economic history. Here’s a more recent video that also looks at that nation’s economic track record. You’ll notice a similar message […]
- by Dan MitchellWhen trying to educate people about taxes, I often share this visual showing a taxpayer trying to figure out whether he should try to earn more income. The simple message is that a taxpayer is more likely to choose to earn more income if the tax rate on that additional income (i.e., the marginal tax […]
- by Dan MitchellI wrote recently about how government handouts are creating dependency (perhaps deliberately) for low-income Americans, and I elaborated on this topic for Austin Peterson’s show. The real issue in this debate, as discussed in my two-part series (here and here), is whether the goal of government policy should be dependency of self-sufficiency. This Chuck Asay […]
- by Dan MitchellOnce again, let’s celebrate Ronald Reagan on his birthday. And we’ll start by asking to identify his greatest accomplishment. Without firing a shot, winning the Cold War over the evil of Soviet communism? Having the wisdom and the fortitude to bring inflation under control? Restoring America’s economic vitality by reducing the cost of government? Those […]
- by Dan MitchellHaving just debunked one leader, let’s now cross the Atlantic and see if another one deserves criticism. I’ll start today’s column with the observation that I’m not a fan of Spanish fiscal policy. The burden of government spending has significantly increased over the past two decades and debt levels have grown enormously. And others share […]

- by uwe.roland.gross“There is no evidence that UN COP meetings and more than $10 trillion spent on renewables over the last 30 years have affected the climate. The average atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, which is blamed for global warming, has been rising over the last 50 years without any change to the trend.”
- by uwe.roland.grossIt has been revealed that judges in the US are being influenced by fake climate propaganda when making decisions. John Solomon’s Just the News has the story: ‘A coalition of 27 Republican attorneys general is joining a growing chorus of criticism over climate activists providing one-sided material to judges that’s presented as an impartial scientific resource to […]
- by uwe.roland.grossIt’s kind of sad really. While mum and dad are busting their guts trying to build a future, woke teachers to whom they entrust their kids' education are filling the kids heads with woke nonsense.

- by Guest BloggerUntil regulators and policymakers confront the reality that these projects are wiping out key predators in the natural food chain, it is dishonest to market this form of power as environmentally benign.

- by Guest BloggerI gather there was 271 mm in Torbay. But even that pales into insignificance in comparison with some of the totals registered in November 1929. October 1960 was also extremely wet in Devon, with 311 mm falling in Exeter.
- by Anthony WattsGelles should acknowledge that the scientific expectation in a warming world has long been for fewer cold extremes. Observations largely confirm that expectation. The idea of warming “fueling” cold extremes may play better into the narrative that humans are causing dangerous climate extremes and wild weather swings, but it is factually wrong.
