Border agents seize record amount of fentanyl in Arizona bust

Customs and Border Protection reported on Thursday that it made a record bust of illegal fentanyl pills in Arizona last month.

Border agents seized approximately four million blue fentanyl pills weighing more than 1,000 pounds on July 1, setting a new CBP record for a single bust.

Authorities said a U.S. citizen, 20, arrived at Arizona’s Port of Lukeville in a pickup truck hauling a sports recreational vehicle on a utility trailer from Mexico into the United States. During the inspection, agents noticed anomalies in the frame of the trailer and conducted more thorough inspection.

A canine team was brought in and officers discovered 234 packages of drugs concealed within the frame of the trailer.

CBP said on July 12 at the same port, agents seized about 260 pounds of methamphetamine. Similar to the July 1 incident, agents found 39 packages of the drug after a canine team alerted them to a portion of the pickup truck, driven by a 45-year-old Mexican national trying to enter the United States.

Authorities said the drugs had a street value of $12.6 million…..

14 arrested in sex-trafficking sting operation at San Diego’s Comic-Con event

Multiple people were arrested during a recent undercover sex-trafficking sting operation at this year’s Comic-Con convention in San Diego.

The targeted sting operation from July 25-27, which coincided with the Comic-Con Convention in San Diego, resulted in 14 arrests, authorities said.

Law-enforcement officials said 10 potential sex-trafficking victims — including a 16-year-old girl — were saved from offering “services” as part of a joint investigation by the multi-agency San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force, California Attorney General Rob Bonta confirmed Tuesday.

The arrested individuals now face charges for soliciting, which in California is a misdemeanor punishable by fine or up to six months in jail for a first offense…….

The American hostages freed in a prisoner swap with Russia on Thursday were seen smiling and proudly displaying a US flag in the first official photo of the trio since their release.

Evan Gershkovich, Alsu Kurmasheva and Paul Whelan were all set free in the biggest prisoner swap between the US and Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

The multi-nation deal set more than two dozen people free, according to the White House, and was the result of lengthy and clandestine behind-the-scenes negotiations, which were successful despite relations between Moscow and Washington being the worst they’ve been since the Cold War.

Kamala Harris And DEI

A handful of Republicans have referred to Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, as a “DEI hire.”

They were essentially saying that President Joe Biden picked Harris to be his running mate in 2020 because she was a person of color. Democrats have, of course, pushed back, calling the phrase “extremely offensive and dehumanizing,” in the words of former U.N. Ambassador and Obama and Biden White House insider Susan Rice. Some Republicans, like former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, pushed back, too, calling the accusation “totally stupid and dumb.”

The issue goes back to the 2020 Democratic presidential primary. In March of that year, when he had all but wrapped up the nomination, Biden explicitly promised to choose a woman as his running mate. “I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a, pick a woman to be vice president,” Biden said in a debate with Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Biden’s promise came in the same answer in which he promised to appoint “the first black woman” to the Supreme Court if he had the opportunity to nominate a justice. So, in that moment, Biden made a specific promise of race and gender for the court while promising only to pick a woman for vice president.

Later, during a July 20 appearance on MSNBC, Biden was asked, “Are you committed to naming a black woman as your vice presidential running mate?” Biden declined to say but said that among those under consideration at that moment, “there are four black women.” He then offered a few hints. Black women have long supported his career, he said, “and so they’re the ones, as that old saying goes, that brought me to the dance. I have been loyal. They have been loyal to me. … My administration, I promise you, will look like America, from vice president to Supreme Court, to cabinet positions, to every major position in the White House. It’s going to look like America. It’s critically important that that be the case. I can guarantee you that.”

It’s fair to say that Biden strongly suggested the pick would be a black woman. And three weeks later, Biden picked Harris. According to an Associated Press report, Biden was initially quite interested in Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. But after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and the national nervous breakdown that followed, Whitmer withdrew from consideration and recommended that Biden choose a black woman. ….

An influencer named Ariel Fodor also made sure the right precedent was set before giving speakers a chance to speak: “If you find yourself ignoring BIPOC voices or speaking for BIPOC voices, [black, indigenous, and people of color] Rather than criticizing individuals, much less correcting them, let’s take a moment to listen. Let’s use the privilege you have to learn from and amplify the voices of those who have been historically marginalized and to drive institutional change. As white people, we have much to learn—and much to unlearn—so let’s check our blind spots.”……

A new video shared by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project reveals that a shocking number of illegal immigrants and non-citizens in Georgia are allegedly registered to vote ahead of the 2024 election.

On Wednesday, The Oversight Project shared a video obtained by Muckraker.com, tweeting, “Footage obtained by @realmuckraker shows numerous non-citizens admitting to being registered voters.”

The video begins by showing multiple people being asked whether they are registered to vote and whether they are U.S. citizens. Numerous individuals can be seen confirming that they are registered to vote despite not being citizens of the United States.

Roughly 30 seconds into the video, a reporter can be heard explaining how research was conducted for the video. “The apartment complex Elliot Norcross in Norcross, Georgia, is occupied primarily by non-citizens,” the reporter stated. “We visited the complex to ask residents two questions: ‘Are you a citizen?’ and ‘Are you registered to vote?’ Shockingly, 14% of respondents admitted to being noncitizens registered to vote.”……

Biden and Harris Have Ignored Hundreds of Attacks on Pro-Life Groups, Pregnancy Centers and Churches

A Catholic organization that tracks attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and churches is urging the Justice Department to investigate over 400 known attacks since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.

The organization, CatholicVote, requested a meeting to discuss probes of pro-abortion violations of the FACE Act in a letter to Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke that it shared with The Daily Signal.

“The [Biden] administration has repeatedly met and coordinated with the abortion industry, but has refused to meet with representatives of the millions of pro-life Americans and concerned Catholic citizens who are being threatened and intimidated across the country,” CatholicVote President Brian Burch writes in the letter to Clarke.

The FACE Act prohibits “threats of force, obstruction and property damage intended to interfere with reproductive health care services.” The 1994 law protects abortion clinics and pro-life pregnancy centers.

The Justice Department, however, has used the law to charge pro-life activists with FACE Act violations in the months since June 2022, when the Supreme Court overturned its 1973 Roe ruling and ended abortion on demand across the nation……

Woman Rushed to ER After Planned Parenthood Injures Her in Botched Abortion

On July 24, an employee of Planned Parenthood in Everett, Washington, called 911 shortly before 11 a.m. The call involved a 36-year-old mother.

In Operation Rescue’s analysis of the 911 recording, present-tense language was observed: “We have a patient who just is having a procedural abortion, and I think she is having some bleeding.”

It appears that the abortion was underway and had to be stopped because of excessive bleeding.

“For this reason, it is not known whether the child’s life had already been destroyed or if he or she remained alive and was possibly suffering at the time of the call,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “What is clear, however, is that the woman was not just experiencing a normal amount of blood loss during the abortion. This was an abortion gone bad – more than likely a hemorrhage caused by surgical tools that perforated her uterus.”…..

Pro-Life Mom Will Appeal 3-year Prison Term for Protesting Abortion

A pro-life activist is appealing a three-year prison sentence for blocking entrance to an abortion clinic.

Christian Post reports Bevelyn Beatty Williams, who was found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act for blocking access to an abortion clinic in 2020, plans on appealing her sentence of 41 months in prison.

Williams opened a GiveSendGo fundraiser to cover the legal costs. She called her three-year sentence devastating, saying that, “Not only is this bond extensive for the accused crime, but [Judge Jennifer Rochan] made it very clear in the courtroom that she was going to [make an] example out of me. The concern of being a young mother, and a stay-at-home mother, was completely disregarded.”

Williams expressed concern over the length of the ruling as it would separate her from her toddler-aged daughter. The judge had told her before the sentence “that I was young and that I would not be defined by my sentence, before making a conscious decision to take me away from my two-year-old daughter for three years.”

Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, which condemned the young activist, said that Bevelyn Williams “repeatedly intimidated and interfered with individuals seeking and providing critical reproductive health services. She did so by physically blocking access to clinics, threatening staff, and by force.”

Pronouns, Gender, And The Left’s Malicious Dissembling Of Culture

A funny thing happened on my way to filling out a form at the doctor’s office.

Immediately after writing my name on the new patient form at the allergist’s, I noticed the section prompting me to declare my “pronouns” and to select my “sex assigned at birth.” Newsflash: sex is not “assigned” at birth, it is a scientific fact. Using a political phrase about “assignment at birth” can cause confusion about a biological fact and a distrust about reality. And that’s the point.

This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered these insidious political questions, and I’m guessing you’ve seen it too. Make no mistake: this seemingly banal addition to forms isn’t harmless; it is a slick demand that we acquiesce to the left’s gender politics or reveal ourselves as dissenters by not playing their game.

It’s the pronoun section I encounter the most, either from my bank, when purchasing a product online, or in this case, when visiting a doctor in New York. My first inclination was to play along and declare my pronouns as Your/Majesty, but the American in me resisted and I became increasingly agitated at the idea that a doctor’s office had sloppily agreed to a forced speech woke trap. But hey, when all your friends are using pronouns then everyone must be on board! Right?!

The left’s pronoun game and the nonsensical “sex assigned at birth” phrase are in reality contrived political statements reinforcing the politicization of transgenderism. Being asked for your pronouns may seem harmless at first, but nothing could be further from the truth.

It is the beginning of your training to accept the left’s malicious dissembling of culture and reinforcement of social chaos and fear.

Most of what the left does is initially couched as simple, harmless, well-meaning changes to language to make sure, they insist, that people don’t get their feelings hurt. But as we know, leftists don’t care about people and nothing they do is about helping society.

Instead, they are obsessed with deconstructing the success and values of our nation to implement their imagined Marxist utopia. One of the key methods with which to do that is to divide people into Balkanized tribes and then set them upon each other…….

ZELENSKY CAVES IN – Surrender to Russia Referendum is given the Green Light

Ukrainian unelected president Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired on May 20, has allowed a referendum to be held in the country on the transfer of territories to Russia. The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde on July 31.

According to Zelensky, the issue of Ukraine’s territorial integrity should be discussed by the entire population of the country, and he himself cannot make such decisions alone.

At the same time, he noted that he does not consider the decision to transfer part of the territories under the control of the Russian Federation to be best, since this would be, in some sense, a victory for Moscow.

During the interview, the Ukrainian dictator also stated that the second world summit to resolve the crisis in Ukraine would not be useful if the Russian side did not participate in it.
