Texas teacher grabs his gun to intervene in alleged sexual assault of teenage girl — and it’s all caught on video
David Garza spoke to KHOU-TV about the incident that began just before midnight July 28.
“I looked out the window, and I saw a man beating up a woman on the ground … trying to take her clothes off,” said Garza.
With that, he sprang into action and grabbed his pistol.
“I ran outside, asked what’s going on. The girl screamed, ‘I’m 15, help me!’ I pointed the gun at him and told him to get off her,” Garza recalled.
The security clip — which you can view as part of KHOU’s video report — shows Garza pointing his handgun at the assailant, who Garza said was grabbing the girl by the hair.
“He took his hands off right away,” Garza added. “He went chasing after her, I went chasing after him, and she got away.”
Police said the male followed the teenager from a metro bus before he attacked her. Although he got away, authorities were able to get a description and a still image from the bus showing the possible suspect…..

Iran warns airlines to avoid its airspace for 3 hours on Thursday over military drills, Egypt says
Egypt’s Civil Aviation Ministry said Wednesday it has ordered Egyptian airlines to avoid Iranian airspace for three hours the following day after a notice from Tehran to do so because of military exercises.
The warning comes amid soaring tensions in the region following last week’s assassination of Hamas’ leader in Tehran. The Egyptian ministry said the warning came in a notice sent by Iran to all commercial airlines.
The ministry said the ban from Iranian airspace was to last for three hours, 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. Iran’s warning also covered three hours earlier on Wednesday, the ministry added.
Speaking to Iran’s ISNA news agency, the head of Iran’s international airport in Tehran, Saeed Chalandari, denied reports of a warning against entering the airspace of western Iran, but it was not clear if that applied to the entire country…….

Boston City Council can keep the devil at bay, First Circuit rules
The Boston City Council can refuse to allow a group of Satanists to join the ministers and other religious leaders who offer invocations at its meetings, a three-judge panel of the First Circuit held in an opinion issued late on Tuesday, finding such action does not violate the establishment clause.
“Speakers were invited based on their contributions to the councilors’ districts and to the Boston community,” the court said, adding that the plaintiff Satanist group “has not shown that any of the Boston city councilors have chosen invocation speakers based on the councilors’ own religious preferences or biases or barred potential speakers from delivering invocations that oppose the councilors’ religious beliefs.”
The lawsuit was brought by the Satanic Temple, which was founded in 2013 and boasts that it’s the only Satanic organization that’s officially recognized as a religion by the IRS.
It doesn’t believe in a literal Satan and operates in a gray area between a community of faith and a spoof of traditional religions, drawing many members from the LGBTQ community.
Last year the group attracted some 800 attendees to SatanCon, a gathering at the Boston Marriott.
The Boston City Council meets about three dozen times a year and typically begins meetings with a prayer, poem, or other introduction, usually from a local religious leader. Trial kicks off in LA for attorney accused of stealing $15 million from clients
The trial of disgraced attorney Tom Girardi, who is accused of stealing more than $15 million from clients, began on Tuesday in Downtown LA’s federal courthouse.
Assistant U.S. District Attorney Scott Paetty told the jury that Girardi had treated money from settlements “like a personal piggy bank,” spending it on private jets and other luxury items, as well as $20 million “to fund the entertainment career of his former wife,” Erika Jayne, a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Girardi was once among the most prominent and successful plaintiffs attorneys in California — he played a pivotal role in securing a $460 million settlement, in 1996, on behalf of residents of Hinkley, California, who were suing Pacific Gas & Electric, events that were later dramatized in the film “Erin Brockovich.”
He took on numerous corporations, insurance companies and utility companies, winning billions of dollars for his clients. As the years went on, he gathered political clout, advising three different governors on judicial nominees, and developing deep ties within the State Bar. He also became famous, to a certain degree, when Erika Jayne, a former cocktail waitress, became a reality television star.
His career imploded, in breathtaking fashion, in 2020, after he was accused of stealing money from clients who were suing over a 2018 airplane crash. That allegation is the subject of separate criminal charges in federal court in Chicago……

2 arrested for planning terror plot at Taylor Swift show in Vienna: Police
Security measures have been increased for Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna, Austria, this week after two suspects were arrested for allegedly plotting a terror attack, authorities said.
A 19-year-old Austrian citizen was arrested Wednesday morning and a second suspect was arrested in the afternoon, according to Franz Ruf, director-general for public safety in the Ministry of the Interior.
The suspects allegedly radicalized themselves online, Ruf said at a press conference. The 19-year-old suspect allegedly pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State in the beginning of July, Ruf said.
Vienna was a target of their planned attack and the 19-year-old suspect had a particular focus on Swift’s Vienna concert, Ruf said……
Florida Teen Accused of Killing Mom and Brutally Slaughtering Mom’s Younger BF Indicted on Murder Charges
A grand jury indicted a Florida teenager accused of killing her mother and then brutally slaughtering her mother’s boyfriend.
Julia Egler, 16, will be arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder on Thursday after a grand jury in Brevard County voted to indict the teenager on those charges, according to a notice to appear obtained by Inside Edition Digital.
The defendant has been in custody ever since the night her mother and her mother’s boyfriend were discovered dead in the family’s Palm Bay home.
Police now say Egler called emergency dispatch that night after allegedly killing her mother and then torturing her mother’s boyfriend by first shooting and then repeatedly stabbing the man as he “essentially asked her to take him out of his misery,” according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Inside Edition Digital……
