Donald Trump: Defender of Christendom?

Is Donald Trump on the way to becoming the world’s chief Defender of Christendom? That’s what various media have been reporting; one Fox News headline is “Trump … Vowing to ‘Defend the Christian Faith’…”
These claims trace back to a White House statement released on April 13, in which Trump spoke of Jesus Christ and Easter Sunday in terms that would edify the most committed Christian. A few snippets from his statement follow:
This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ — the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity….
This week is a time of reflection for Christians to memorialize Jesus’ crucifixion — and to prepare their hearts, minds, and souls for His miraculous resurrection from the dead.
… In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation. Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness — signaling that death does not have the final word.
Overtly Christian
Wow. As Evangelist Franklin Graham observed,
[Trump’s] proclamation is historic and there has not been in my lifetime a president that has communicated the Gospel as clearly as he has. … He’s not a preacher but [in] this proclamation he gave one of the best sermons for Easter that many pastors will give from the pulpit. Donald Trump is not afraid of his faith. He’s not ashamed of his faith, and he’s willing to let the world know it.
For those familiar with the perfunctory proclamations of previous administrations, it is hard to argue with Graham’s logic.
As for Trump’s vow to “defend” Christianity, here is the relevant excerpt from his proclamation:
This Holy Week, my Administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government. We will never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square.
So, does all this make Trump a bona fide defender of Christianity — an Athleta Christi, a “Champion of Christ,” as a select few heroes of history were called?…
Over a century later, California may need another revolt against its utility companies

Fed up with decades of powerful railroads corrupting the state board that was supposed to regulate them, California voters created the modern Public Utilities Commission in 1911. Now, some 114 years later, Californians have reached their limit with the cozy cronyism between the commission and the private utilities it is required to keep in check.
That voter initiative in the early 20th century made the commission the primary protector of California’s families and businesses against rapacious or unsafe electric and gas utilities. California statutes are filled with requirements that the utilities commission ensures that each cost to provide electricity and gas to customers is both necessary, as well “just and reasonably” priced.
As President Franklin D. Roosevelt put it during a 1932 campaign stop in Oregon, state utility commissions have a “delegated authority and duty to act as the agent of the public themselves; that it is not a mere arbitrator as between the people and the public utilities, but was created for the purpose of seeing that the public utilities do two things: first, give adequate service; second, charge reasonable rates.”
“This means,” he continued, “when that duty is properly exercised, positive and active protection of the people against private greed!”
Today, Californians are again faced with what FDR called “a systematic, subtle, deliberate and unprincipled campaign of misinformation, of propaganda, … lies and falsehoods” — bought and paid for by private utilities, he remarked.
More than a century later, California’s utilities commission has lost its way. Over the past 10 years, each and every time California’s private utility companies have wanted more of our money, the state’s appointed commissioners have willingly agreed.
Between 2019 and 2023, average residential electricity rates increased 47%, outpacing inflation, the Legislative Analyst’s Office noted in a January report. Last year alone, the commission approved six increases for PG&E, while it raked in record-breaking profits…

4 Admissions Of Social Security Fraud In April Alone Show Waste And Abuse Are Real

Last month, a White House fact sheet, citing an inspector general report from 2024, noted how “The Social Security Administration made an estimated $72 billion in improper payments between 2015 and 2022.”
Last week, Wendy Stone of Rochester, New York, pleaded guilty to “conversion/unlawful conveyance of government money, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine,” according to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo’s office.
Back in 2022, Stone went to the home of an acquaintance and found that person had died a few days earlier. Stone didn’t report the death to authorities. Instead, she moved the body to the basement of the home, stuffed it in a storage bin, and covered it in bleach, occasionally topping off the bleach to keep the body covered. It remained there from December 2022 to September 2023, the DOJ release explains. Stone, 63, “improperly collected” $7,900 of the victim’s Supplemental Security Income money, which is administered by the Social Security Administration, and used the victim’s Social Security number “to activate a new debit card.” Stone also later falsely claimed the victim lived with her to receive $1,070 in SNAP benefits, according to the release.
On April 9, Mavious Redmond of Austin, Minnesota, pleaded guilty to committing Social Security fraud for 25 years, roughly half her life. Redmond, 54, “collected more than $360,000 in Social Security payments intended for her mother,” who died in 1999, the DOJ said in an April 14 release.
“On multiple occasions, Redmond impersonated her deceased mother to keep her fraud scheme going,” reads the statement from Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick’s office. “For example, on June 4, 2024, Redmond personally visited the SSA office, posing as her deceased mother, and submitted a fraudulent SS-5 Application for Social Security Form using her mother’s name, date of birth, Social Security number, and forging her deceased mother’s signature.”
Deborah Bailey, 68, from Piscataway, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to theft of public money after claiming her dead mother’s Social Security retirement money for eight years after her death. After Bailey’s mom died in 2016, she didn’t tell the Social Security Administration, and an investigation revealed she withdrew more than $150,000 “in retirement benefits” from her mom’s bank account between 2016 and 2024. She faces sentencing in August, according to a DOJ release from U.S. Attorney Alina Habba’s Office.
Reynaldo Martinez of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, admitted to getting his mitts on 40 SNAP cards using “stolen identities and stolen or fraudulent Social Security numbers.”
“Court documents reflect that Martinez appeared in person at multiple Rhode Island Department of Human Services offices and filed applications for SNAP benefits,” according to a DOJ release from April 2. “He did this by presenting fraudulent drivers’ licenses in various names but depicting his own photograph, and using Social Security numbers assigned to others, including that of a deceased individual, living adult citizens, and at least one juvenile.”
He admitted to receiving more than $33,000 in SNAP free food benefits. Martinez also admitted to cashing “altered” U.S. Treasury checks, which can be tax refunds, Social Security, or other benefits. Martinez pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in July, according to the DOJ. He was arrested and convicted multiple times in the past on other fraud and criminal charges, “dating back to 2012.”
Still, the desperate media really want the Trump administration to stop looking for fraud.
Last week, President Trump signed a memorandum aimed at “preventing illegal aliens from obtaining Social Security Act benefits.” Without missing a beat, Axios’ Jason Lalljee wrote under the headline: “Trump aids Musk’s Social Security fraud hunt, despite lack of evidence.”..

$5 Million on Trees, $300K to Trans Farmers: Brooke Rollins Shares Woke Agriculture Department Spending Cuts

The Department of Agriculture has worked with the Department of Government Efficiency to slash millions in woke spending projects, from a $300,000 contract educating queer and transgender farmers to $5 million to keep trees alive.
“Probably the most stunning for me was the $500,000 grant to study transgenderism in mice,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told The Daily Signal.
The National Institutes of Health under the Biden administration allocated millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants for institutions to perform transgender experiments on mice, composing a total of more than $8 million in spending, according to the White House.
“And then there was another couple hundred thousand to queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco to talk about food security,” Rollins said.
The Department of Agriculture on March 24 announced the cancellation of a $300,000 contract educating on food justice for queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco.
“And then there was another one for trees at the Barack Obama School somewhere in the country that when you did the calculation, came out to $11,000 a tree.”
The Inflation Reduction Act funded a program allocating $11,053 per tree at Barack Obama High School.
“I don’t even think any of them survived!” Rollins said….
Tom Homan vows action as California set to release illegal immigrant who killed two teens

Outrage is growing after the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced it will release an undocumented immigrant convicted of killing two American teenagers, more than six years before his original sentence was set to end.
Trump border czar Tom Homan says he’s stepping in.
“I will work with [Homeland Security] Secretary Noem on this case, and I guarantee you, if they don’t honor the detainer, we’ll have ICE agents outside that facility to take custody of this individual and deport him,” Homan said Wednesday on “America’s Newsroom.”
Oscar Eduardo Ortega-Anguiano was driving drunk at high speed in 2021 when he crashed into a car carrying 19-year-olds Anya Varfolomeev and Nicholay Osokin. Both teens were killed in the fiery wreck.
Ortega-Anguiano was later convicted of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2022.
Now, California officials say he will be released early, sparking outrage from the victims’ families and immigration officials.
“He’s been deported several times, which means he’s a felon,” Homan said. “Re-entry to the country, deported. Deportation is a felony. We will prosecute him, and we will deport him.”
According to ICE, Ortega-Anguiano has a long criminal history, including prior convictions for burglary in 2005, vehicle theft in 2007, and battery with kidnapping in 2014. Homan says those prior offenses, and his repeated illegal re-entry into the country, make the case especially egregious.
ICE has issued a detainer requesting custody of Ortega-Anguiano upon his release. However, California’s sanctuary state policies raise questions about whether local officials will comply….
YMCA Defends Man Who Entered WOMEN’s Locker Room and Exposed Penis to 7 Year Old Girl

The North Kansas City YMCA in Missouri is seemingly defending a man who reportedly entered the women’s locker room and exposed his penis to a 7-year old girl and her mother.
In an interview with Fox 4, the mother says she and her daughter had just finished swimming lessons on April 12, where she estimates “hundreds of children were present.”
The duo had entered the women’s locker room to change, when she suddenly heard a man’s voice. They exited their stall to find the creep standing there, fully naked.
“Honey, I’m a woman,” the man allegedly snapped, when the mother asked what the hell he was doing there. She claims she and her daughter weren’t the only ladies subjected to the predatory incident.
But preying on children is apparently acceptable behavior, according to YMCA, who has a track record of banning girls for asking not to change in front of men.
They almost seem proud of it.
“Individuals are allowed to use the locker room or restroom that they identify with,” stated their local branch in a defensive response to Fox 4.
“The safety and well-being of all of our members is a priority,” they insisted…. Just not as much of a priority as placing the feelings of pervs in dresses above the safety of young girls….
