Civic Innovation Works, a New York-based nonprofit, is using a variety of tactics to turn out voters in battleground states like North Carolina, Georgia, and Arizona, according to analysis of its Facebook ads.
At the center of its efforts is a contest offering two tickets to Taylor Swift’s November concert in Indianapolis. To qualify, entrants are required to enter their personal information—name, physical address, email address, phone number, and date of birth—in order to “check” whether they are registered to vote.
“Taylor’s got a message: Register to vote! Check your registration status, and you could win 2 tickets to her Nov 3rd show in Indianapolis. Are you in?” the ad reads.
Civic Innovation does not publicly declare a party affiliation, but the Swift-themed contest appears aimed at getting Democratic voters to the polls, leaning into the pop superstar’s recent endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris. Civic Innovation is running the contest in conjunction with TargetSmart, a prominent Democratic data firm, and Vote.org, a “nonpartisan” charity that has historically aligned with liberal causes.
The group’s leader, Tate Hausman, also has ties to Democrats, having worked in the Adams administration since February 2023, according to his LinkedIn. His work for Adams, however, is not his connection to political controversy.
Hausman, a New York native, pleaded guilty to voter fraud in 2009 after he illegally claimed residency in Ohio to vote for Barack Obama. Hausman, who helmed a different voter registration group at the time, said he believed he was allowed to vote legally in the Buckeye State, but the judge in his case said he was “skeptical” that Hausman was ignorant of the law. Alarming evidence: COVID vaccines may cause asthma in children
A recent analysis of more than 200,000 U.S. children’s health records suggests that mRNA COVID-19 vaccination may increase the risk of asthma in kids. This research, conducted by Taiwanese scientists, has not yet been published but reportedly shows “striking evidence” that the COVID shots could lead to asthma and subsequent lung damage in children.
The researchers used data from the TriNetX network, which they describe as the “largest global source of real-world data.” The study examined health information from children aged 5 to 18 between Jan. 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2022.
One of the key findings reveals that children who received the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine and had not contracted a natural COVID-19 infection had a 13% higher risk of developing asthma. This was compared to a similar group of unvaccinated children who also had no prior infection. The researchers noted, “That increased risk cannot be due to COVID, since neither group was infected.”
Additionally, children who were both vaccinated and infected with COVID-19 had an even 20% higher risk of a new asthma diagnosis than their unvaccinated counterparts who also had the infection. News broke this weekend that China-backed hackers have compromised the wiretap systems of several U.S. telecom and internet providers, likely in an effort to gather intelligence on Americans.
The wiretap systems, as mandated under a 30-year-old U.S. federal law, are some of the most sensitive in a telecom or internet provider’s network, typically granting a select few employees nearly unfettered access to information about their customers, including their internet traffic and browsing histories.
But for the technologists who have for years sounded the alarm about the security risks of legally required backdoors, news of the compromises are the “told you so” moment they hoped would never come but knew one day would.
“I think it absolutely was inevitable,” Matt Blaze, a professor at Georgetown Law and expert on secure systems, told TechCrunch regarding the latest compromises of telecom and internet providers.
The Wall Street Journal first reported Friday that a Chinese government hacking group dubbed Salt Typhoon broke into three of the largest U.S. internet providers, including AT&T, Lumen (formerly CenturyLink), and Verizon, to access systems they use for facilitating customer data to law enforcement and governments. The hacks reportedly may have resulted in the “vast collection of internet traffic” from the telecom and internet giants. 6-Year-Old Passes After Stepfather Beats Him, Brother, Mother With Baseball Bat
Six-year-old Jathan Escobar was declared brain dead and taken off life support after his step father, Abdulrahim Sulaiman, attacked him, his brother, and mother on September 23rd in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
An update was posted on Jathan’s GoFundme, saying that he had passed away.
“Today, my sweet 6-year-old nephew made his final journey as he gives the ultimate gift of life through organ donation. After suffering unimaginable pain and losing his life due to a brutal and senseless act, he leaves behind a legacy of hope for others,” the website said. “His heart, full of love, will beat on, and his light will continue to shine through the lives he saves. Though we are shattered, we honor his strength, innocence and the selfless act that will help others live.”
Reports stated that the mother had called 9-1-1 and said that Sulaiman was attacking them with a bat. When police arrived, they found the mother bleeding profusely while holding 6-year-old Jathan with a hole in her head close to her eye.
Police took Sulaiman into custody after finding him “muttering to himself” while covered in blood. The blood was mostly on his hands and arms.
While the six-year-old received CPR, police said that they were disturbingly able to see brain matter coming from the top of his head….

“Oh, do you have a driver’s license in Arizona? You just need that and your residency,” the man said. “Well, we’ll get in touch whenever you want.”
The man went on to tell the DACA alien to bring his friends to get registered as well.

Russian forces have entered the outskirts of the eastern Ukraine frontline city of Toretsk, Ukraine’s military said late on Monday, less than a week after the fall of the bastion town of Vuhledar.

Republicans countered with surprise and shock that FEMA had routed $640.9 million in grants to nonprofits aiding immigrants, many of whom have crossed into the U.S. illegally.
But the truth is both parties signed off on a budget deal earlier this year that increased funding for the new mission authorized in 2023 for FEMA, which is now reeling from a double-barreled hurricane crisis that has led to frustration over alleged missteps by the agency as millions of stranded and needy Americans in the Southeast await help.
“FEMA, as well as this whole Biden administration has is here to protect Americans, our citizens, and hurricane Helene has put a tremendous burden on us, but, get this, follow these funds that have been directed at anything but Americans: $110 million in FEMA funds went to the emergency food and shelter program to assist migrants,” Congressman Ralph Norman, R-S.C., told the “Just the News, No Noise“ TV show Monday.

A heavily tattooed female Tren de Aragua gang member is accused of running a sex trafficking operation out of a border town hotel the gang took over, according to a leaked Border Patrol memo obtained by The Post.
At least one victim alleged Estefania Primera — a Venezuelan illegal migrant who goes by the street name “La Barbie” — drugged her and brought men in to gang rape her while she was unconscious, court documents said.
Primera was arrested in El Paso, Texas on Sept. 27 after she was spotted with her young five kids, the memo said.
Authorities say she also uses her kids as drug mules to hold and sell her narcotics, per the memo.
“The Barbie” allegedly operated out of the local Gateway Hotel, which authorities in El Paso recently shut down following multiple complaints about lawlessness.
A sex trafficking victim allegedly named Primera as the front-woman running prostitutes who were trafficked into the US, the memo said.
One victim told cops that Primera drugged her multiple times with a pill containing fentanyl. The drugs caused her to pass out. When she came to, she found multiple men having sex with her, according to court docs.
The woman said she suffered horrific injuries from the gang rape….
