Billions In Ukraine Debt To Be Written Off

The new deal will see those creditors write billions off the nominal value of their holdings, and agree to a new payment schedule on terms more beneficial to Kiev.

RT reports: The bondholders’ committee, which controls 25% of the bonds, has agreed to accept losses of 37%, or $8.7 billion, on the nominal value of their debt, according to a statement with the terms of the accord published on the London Stock Exchange.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reportedly confirmed that the deal was compatible with the parameters of a $122 billion aid package to Kiev. Both the IMF and the country’s creditors, which include the US and the Paris Club, have signed off on it, according to the statement.

Kiev expects the discount to help it save tens of billions in payments in the coming years.

Kiev already relies on foreign aid to keep government departments open and state employees paid. Ukraine’s military is almost entirely dependent on foreign funding and the country escaped default only after the US Congress approved a $61 billion aid package in April.

Ukraine’s announcement comes just over a week before the expiration of the debt-suspension agreement and marks the first time a country has embarked on a debt restructuring in the midst of a conflict. Last week, Kiev passed a law allowing it to miss payments and enter a debt default, while the restructuring agreement with investors is finalized….

Palestinian Government Paying $16 Mil a Month to Imprisoned Terrorists, Including Hamas Fighters, Watchdog Finds

Payments by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to imprisoned terrorists have risen by $2 million a month, and are being reliably doled out even as the West Bank-based government teeters on the brink of financial collapse, according to watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch.

The PA has recognized thousands of those terrorists as eligible for “pay-to-slay” payments in the wake of Oct. 7, including 899 who were captured in Gaza in recent months.

All told, “9,750 terrorist prisoners are now recognized by the PA as eligible for monthly terror rewards, up from 4,300 prior to October 7,” according to Palestinian Media Watch, which tracks the PA’s terrorist payment system.

The watchdog group “calculates that once the processing of the new prisoners is complete, the PA will be paying a minimum of 59,560,000 shekels (about $16.4 million) a month in salaries to terrorist prisoners, up from 52,000,000 shekels (about $14.3 million) a month prior to October 7.”

The payment scheme, buoyed by international aid dollars, is one of the primary reasons that Republican officials want to cut off U.S. aid to the Palestinians, which has totaled upwards of $1.5 billion since America began pumping humanitarian aid into the war-torn Gaza Strip. Prior to Oct. 7, the Biden administration pushed through plans to send millions of dollars to the Palestinian government as part of its drive to reignite the peace process with Israel and prop up the fledgling PA.

With Joe Biden Out Of Sight, We Effectively Have No President Right Now

AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta, File)

Under normal circumstances — that is to say, with a functioning White House helmed by an engaged president — an assassination attempt would be the focus of attention across the executive branch.

It would merit sustained attention and commentary from the sitting U.S. president, and it would transcend party politics, even in an election year, because the failures of the Secret Service would call into question the safety of everyone under their protection, whether Republican or Democrat.

Instead, we have an eerie silence. Joe Biden is simply gone, ousted in what amounts to a coup d’état.

As if on cue, the media have shifted to talking about Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat Party nominee, as if this is just ordinary horse race politics. She is reported to have hauled in $81 million in campaign donations in 24 hours, an unprecedented sum that obviously is not organic in origin.

The change has been disorienting in its swiftness, reminiscent of the famous passage from George Orwell’s 1984, describing how the Party would change the past by mere proclamation: “The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.”

As things stand, it’s as if we are expected not to notice that Biden has been ousted, accept that Harris’ campaign is normal and natural, and play along with all the usual trappings of the campaign season, but swapping out Biden’s name for Harris’.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory, it’s a conspiratorial plot that’s been executed in plain sight. And the Democrat Party elites who engineered all this are now closing ranks swiftly around Harris, in part to lend legitimacy to what they have done, which isn’t just bring an abrupt end to Biden’s reelection campaign, but also to his presidency.

World leaders who had scheduled meetings with Biden are canceling them. This includes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is traveling to Washington, D.C., this week and will address Congress on Wednesday. He was supposed to meet with the president, but there is no president to meet with.

What happens next? I’m not sure anyone really knows.

We have stepped out of narrative and into history, and things are moving fast now. But what must not happen is that we the people simply trundle along and accept the narrative that we’re given by the coup plotters and the media. There has to be accountability for them as much as for the Secret Service and other deep-state actors who set the stage for an assassination attempt on Trump…..

Top 30 Reasons Kamala Harris Would Be A Terrible President

The powers that be decided this week that despite her disastrous approval numbers and long history of unpopularity among Democrat voters, Vice President Kamala Harris will take President Joe Biden’s place as the blue party’s presumptive 2024 candidate.

Here are 30 reasons why Harris, whether through Biden’s resignation or the upcoming election, would make a terrible president.

1. She Covered Up Biden’s Cognitive Decline

Harris had a front-row seat to President Joe Biden’s mental and physical deterioration but never said a word. In fact, she routinely issued statements indicating Biden was fit enough to stay president.

2. She’s Sympathetic to Pro-Hamas Demonstrators

Harris believes the pro-terrorist activists taking over college campuses, occupying highways, and defacing military cemeteries are merely “showing exactly what the human emotion should be.”

3. She Refuses to Oppose Abortion Until Birth

Harris famously refused to say which abortion limits she supports in a September 2023 sitdown with CBS’s Margaret Brennan.

4. She Shirked Her Duties as Border Czar

Biden named Harris as border czar in 2021, but it took her months to visit ground zero of the record-breaking invasion her administration incentivized. The Border Patrol chiefs responsible for securing the border also confirmed that Harris never spoke with them….

Hamas and Genocide in Israel

The official definition of genocide, as determined by the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner on December 9, 1948, reads:

Article II
In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;

(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

The Iran-backed, officially designated terrorist group Hamas — along with other groups such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad — on October 7, 2023, committed genocide in Israel.

The Iran-backed, officially designated terrorist group Hamas — along with other groups such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad — on October 7, 2023, committed genocide in Israel.

Jews were murdered because they were the Jews. Israelis were murdered because they were Israelis. People were murdered because they were presumed to be the Jews or Israeli sympathizers with Jews. The decision to invade, murder, torture and kidnap was made by the Hamas leadership and reportedly “managed and planned” by Iran’s Quds Force.

Hamas terrorists and Gazan civilians massacred approximately 1,200 people in southern Israel. Near the Gaza border, at the Supernova music festival alone, at least 260 people were murdered, with some women raped before being tortured and slaughtered.

Israel, of necessity, responded to this massacre. Israel’s goals, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, called by Andrew Roberts “the Churchill of the Middle East,” are “returning hostages from Gaza, eliminating Hamas’ military and governing capabilities, ensuring that Gaza will not constitute a threat against Israel and also returning displaced Israeli residents securely to their homes in both the south and the north.”

Israel’s goal is not to destroy the Palestinians, Arabs or Gazan civilians. Unfortunately, there are innocent victims in every war. If Hamas chooses to fight in dense urban areas, among its own civilians, there will be even more civilian casualties. Israel, which always goes out of its out of its way to prevent civilian casualties among its opponents, is always nevertheless blamed for them — by Hamas, by European officials, and by the “progressive” and often racist media (the “genocide” libel).

“Israel Implemented More Measures to Prevent Civilian Casualties Than Any Other Nation in History,” wrote the chair of urban warfare studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point, John Spencer; and, “Israel Has Created a New Standard for Urban Warfare: Why Will No One Admit it?”

To minimize casualties in its reaction to October 7, the Israeli military sent approximately 15 million text messages, 12 million recorded phone messages and made more than 40,000 personal phone calls to residents of Gaza, informing them when and where to evacuate from areas in which they might be endangered.

By contrast, Hamas was broadcasting from mosques with orders for Gazans to stay put; blocking roads leading to safety (here and here), and even shooting its own citizens to keep them from fleeing (herehere and here)….

President Biden Announces Key Nominees

Today, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate the following individuals to serve as key leaders in his administration:

  • David Samuel Johnson, Nominee to be Inspector General for Tax Administration, U.S. Department of the Treasury
  • Gabriel Escobar, Nominee to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Paraguay
  • Patrice H. Kunesh, Nominee to be Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission
  • Lisa T. Ballance, Nominee to be Chair and Member of the Marine Mammal Commission
  • Matthew James Marzano, Nominee to be a Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission…

Unelected technocrats are now the nation’s chief executives

Biden’s lack of any meaningful presence on the public stage does make it clear that someone other than Biden is running the White House, and someone is making decisions about policy.

This could be an individual who is the de facto president, or it could be a group of people. If it is a group of people it is unknown if this group if coordinating decisions, of if these people are simply making decisions haphazardly as needed. Joe Biden’s inability to answer even basic questions during the debate makes it clear that Biden is not the one making these decisions, and he’s not equipped to manage the federal bureaucracy in any meaningful sense.

For example, the White House yesterday released a memorandum further outsourcing the president’s duties to the State Department and the Treasury Department. That is, according to the memo, “the functions and authorities vested in the President by sections … of the Rebuilding Economic Prosperity and Opportunity for Ukrainians Act” are delegated to technocrats. The president apparently can’t even personally make decisions in areas that the White House calls a priority.

For all the regime’s talk about “democracy,” it is undeniable at this point that the White House is actually run by unseen, unelected personnel who function in the shadows and are accountable only to the elites within their own ruling coalition.

Some call it the “deep state.” Others call it “the headless fourth branch of government.” In any case, we are reminded that the United States is a technocracy and not a democracy, a republic, or whatever word one wants to use to describe a system that is in some meaningful way answerable to the taxpayers who pay all the bills.

It is these unelected, unknown figures who are deciding the nation’s foreign policy, its immigration policy, and its political appointments. We simply have no idea who is deciding US policy in Ukraine, in the Levant, or in east Asia—three regions that are in danger of flaring up into major conflicts.

Who really controls the nuclear launch codes? It seems only the oligarchs and some high-ranking technocrats know. Nor do we know who is crafting the present open-border policy that funnels billions of dollars to hundreds of thousands of unemployed foreign nationals who receive blank checks to live in luxury hotels in American cities….

Glenn Beck Reacts: Secret Service Director RESIGNS After DISASTROUS Testimony

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has finally resigned 10 days after the attempted assassination of former president Donald Trump. But Glenn says, “that should not close this case by any stretch of the imagination.” Glenn and Pat discuss Cheatle’s resignation and her disastrous testimony to the House Oversight Committee the day before.

Spokane pushes for public safety tax increase after eyeing $9M cut to police

Photo courtesy of the City of Spokane

Brown proposed the one-tenth of 1% sales tax increase earlier this month in an effort to plug some of the city’s approximately $50 million deficit. The mayor previously pushed for another much larger property tax but pulled the measure, in part because the city council said it didn’t have enough information about the proposed tax.

However, the sales tax is only estimated to bring in roughly $7.7 million annually, less than 25% of what the other measure would’ve generated.

This could ultimately diminish the county’s ability to hold people in local jails, which have released more than 2,700 felony offenders in the last three years.

Brown held a budget meeting last week with the rest of the city’s department heads and laid out a list of possible budget cuts to alleviate some of the deficit. The cuts included more than $9 million from law enforcement, almost $5 million from fire services, and more from the courts.

The county is also asking voters to approve a tax measure in November; however, it’s a renewal rather than an increase. Still, Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels said if voters approve the city’s increase and reject the county’s renewal, public safety will only get worse….

Washington AGO tasked with investigating $42 million tort claim filed against it

AG Bob Ferguson | Instagram

A recent $42 million tort claim filed against the State Attorney General’s Office and its client Washington State University stemming from a police use of force database project has been handed over to the AGO’s Tort Claim Division to investigate.

In his tort claim filed to the Department of Enterprise Services’ Office of Risk Management, Police Strategies CEO Bob Scales accused the AGO and WSU of numerous illegal acts, including racketeering, to ensure that the university received a $15 million contract to build a police use of force database that would be available to the public.

Last year, Scales filed an ethics complaint against an AGO employee for allegedly violating the Ethics In Public Service Act. That complaint was dismissed by the Ethics Board, whose staff is entirely composed of AGO employees and whose executive director is a former AGO assistant attorney general.

Scales then filed an ethics complaint with the WSU Provost against two of its employees. He eventually received a letter on April 11, 2023, via email from WSU President Kirk Schulz, who has no formal role in ethics violation investigations, saying the complaint would not be pursued further…..

Chinese man accused of importing chemicals for fentanyl

Minsu Fang, 48, aka “Fernando,” has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance for the purpose of unlawful importation, conspiracy to import a controlled substance, and conspiracy to export a controlled substance.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, Fang and his associates shipped over 2,000 kilograms of fentanyl precursor chemicals from China into the United States and then into Mexico.

Between August and October 2023, the group allegedly sent approximately 100 separate shipments.

Prosecutors say they avoided detection by declaring minimal values allowing them to be admitted into the United States without a detailed inspection….

Couple loses $44K in Facebook customer service scam

An Oregon couple got scammed out of a life-changing amount of money after attempting to call a customer service line for help logging back into Facebook.

The victims, who asked to remain anonymous, were hoping to sell some items on Facebook Marketplace, but ended up losing $44,000 in an irreversible wire transfer.

The husband forgot his Facebook password. He ended up searching for Facebook’s customer service on Google, but unaware—he ended up on a fake site that mimicked the real Facebook and called the 1-800 helpline that was listed.

At the time, he didn’t realize there was an additional letter in the website URL, which would have been a red flag that it was an illegitimate website.

“They convinced me that his credit card had been hacked,” the wife said.

The couple, both in their early 70s, panicked about their money, so the wife says she followed the person’s instructions and clicked on a link…..

Menendez resigning from U.S. Senate on August 20

(Photo: Kevin Sanders for the New Jersey Globe).

Gov. Phil Murphy must appoint a replacement to fill the remainder of Menendez’s term, which ends on January 3, 2025. He has said he would appoint a caretaker. Possible candidates include First Lady Tammy Murphy, Lt. Governor Tahesha Way, former Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells, and U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas; there are likely to be others on the list as well.

Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown), the Democratic nominee for Menendez’s seat in the fall general election, has said he would accept a Senate appointment if asked.

The Senate is scheduled to be on recess from August 5 to September 6, giving Murphy until the first week in September to settle on his pick. That person would serve four months in the U.S. Senate.

The delay between now and the planned resignation date could give Menendez the chance to give a farewell address from the Senate floor; he’ll also be able to continue voting on bills and nominations until his resignation becomes official.

Menendez, a three-term Democrat who once chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had stridently resisted calls for his resignation ever since a federal indictment against him was unsealed last September. Federal prosecutors accused the senator of trading influence in Washington for cash, gifts, and gold bars from three New Jersey businessmen; it was Menendez’s second bribery indictment, after previously beating corruption charges in 2017 following a mistrial…..

Guards on ship open fire on ‘Houthi kamikaze sea drone’ which explodes

The video, posted to X by Navy Lookout, shows the large cargo ship sailing through the foggy Red Sea before the alleged Houthi kamikaze drone boat filled with explosives speeds towards it.

It is not clear where or when exactly the footage was captured, and the ship has not been named.

In the clip, two armed crew members, donning protective gear, raise their firearms while another films the tense scenes on a mobile phone.

After crouching and aiming through a the ship’s metal railing, one of the crew strikes a clear shot at the quick boat before it erupts in an orange blaze.

The massive explosion sends thick black clouds billowing into the sky as the Ukrainian ship continues is journey onwards, leaving the smoking remains of the apparent Houthi drone in its wake.

This is not the first incident of its kind to take place in the Red Sea in recent weeks, however, as just last month a video emerged on social media showing a Houthi USV striking a 750ft Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned cargo carrier.

Loudermilk seeks records from Capitol Police on investigation of gallows on Capitol grounds Jan. 6

Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., is pressing United States Capitol Police (USCP) Chief J. Thomas Manger for “records and information” related to their investigation of the “gallows assembled on the Capitol Grounds on January 6, 2021,” according to a news release sent out on Tuesday.

Loudermilk said in the letter that it is still unknown who was behind the construction of the gallows.

He asked Manger in the letter for “all emails, text messages, chat messages, or other communications to or from USCP personnel accounts regarding the response to the discovery of the gallows erected on Capitol Grounds on January 6, 2021, and the investigation into the construction of the gallows.”

When Kamala Harris was put in charge in past jobs, scandal and failure often followed

Before she was Joe Biden’s understudy the last four years, Kamala Harris ran offices as a California prosecutor and senator. Often, scandal and failings followed in her wake.

As California Attorney General, Harris was widely criticized for failing to take on prosecutorial misconduct.

In fact her office was “called out” by judges for “defending convictions obtained by local prosecutors” who had inserted false confessions, lied under oath, and withheld evidence. A federal appeals judge even admonished officials in 2015 to talk to Harris “and make sure she understands the gravity of the situation” involving prosecutorial misconduct.

Likewise, Harris’ top deputy was accused of sexually harassing a staffer while working for Harris at the California Department of Justice, costing the state $400,000 to settle the case.

Now, as vice president, not only has Harris’ office been plagued by staff issues, but the vice president is scrutinized for her role as “Border Czar” leading the Biden administration’s efforts to solve the border crisis. Early in their term,  Biden designated Harris to address the migration challenges at the border after he initially rolled back several of his predecessor’s initiatives.

“Serving as our nation’s Border Czar, VP Harris has overseen the worst, unmitigated border security crisis in our lifetime. The data is irrefutable,” Mark Morgan, former Commissioner of Customs Border Protection under Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, told Just the News.

“She fully supported the dismantling of the network of tools, authorities, and polices we had in place under the Trump Administration that had led to the most secure border in our lifetime and has repeatedly lied to the American people regarding the government’s loss of operational control of our own borders,” Morgan continued.

“Under her reign, more Americans have died from fentanyl pouring across the border; more potential national security threats and criminals have attempted to exploit our open order policies; and more illegal aliens have been encountered during her tenure, than any other time in our nation’s history.  Her performance has negatively impacted every aspect of our country’s safety and national security and can only be described as – complete failure,” he added…..

Senate to Consider Legislation This Week to Protect Children from Dangerous Online Content, Potentially Introducing Major New Tech Regulation

(AP Photo/John McDonnell)

The child safety bill came together as Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, and Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a Republican, have worked together and with advocacy groups for several years on compromise legislation that is designed to hold companies more responsible for what children see while also ensuring that Congress does not go too far in regulating what individuals post.

The legislation would create what is called a “duty of care” — a legal term that requires companies to take reasonable steps to prevent harm on online platforms minors will likely use.

The companies would be required to mitigate and even prevent harms to children, including bullying and violence, the promotion of suicide, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual exploitation and advertisements for illegal products such as narcotics, tobacco or alcohol.

To achieve that goal, social media platforms would have to provide minors with options to protect their information, disable addictive product features and opt out of personalized algorithmic recommendations.

They would also be required to limit other users from communicating with children and limit features that “increase, sustain, or extend the use” of the platform — such as autoplay for videos or platform rewards.

In general, online platforms would have to default to the safest settings possible for accounts they believe belong to minors. The idea, Blumenthal and Blackburn have said, is for the platforms to be “safe by design.”…

House Forms Task Force to Probe Attempted Trump Assassination

 (Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on July 23 announced the formation of a House Task Force to investigate the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

“The security failures that allowed an assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life are shocking,” Mr. Johnson and Mr. Jeffries said in a joint statement.

“In response to bipartisan demands for answers, we are announcing a House Task Force made up of seven Republicans and six Democrats to thoroughly investigate the matter. The task force will be empowered with subpoena authority and will move quickly to find the facts, ensure accountability, and make certain such failures never happen again.”

The leaders said an official resolution to establish the task force and its members will be voted on this week.

Elderly Trump Supporter In Critical Condition After ‘Politically Motivated’ Attack, Police Say

Hancock Police Department

The man, who has not been identified, was putting up a yard sign supporting President Donald Trump around 5:45 p.m., when a suspect driving a Honda ATV drove onto the man’s yard and ran him over with the vehicle, the Hancock Police Department said in a press release.

The driver reportedly began to pull out the yard signs, and when the victim tried to put them back in the ground, the driver ran him over.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including a brain bleed, and is reportedly still in critical condition.

“We’re not sure what could happen. Could he die from these injuries? Possible,” Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman said, according to WLUC. “If there’s anybody out there that has any information on the person driving this four-wheeler, please call the Hancock Police Department.”

This was the third incident police believe to be politically motivated that occurred on Sunday alone.

The first two involved vehicles that were vandalized, with the police department saying the suspect “appeared to target both Trump and Law Enforcement supporters.” It is unclear what about the vehicles indicated the drivers were either Trump or law enforcement supporters….

Who Normalized Political Violence in America?

BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI/AFP VIA GETTY IMAGES

No, the violence came from the left. The question is, who from the left is responsible for cultivating it? It’s not the media, and it’s not Joe Biden, either.

With the Democratic Party’s internal upheavals about replacing the incumbent, the left has openly acknowledged that the shadow presidency isn’t a MAGA conspiracy but fact.

All the party’s chatter centered on Obama, identifying him as the man holding the party’s reins and directing its messaging: Did he sign off on George Clooney’s op-ed calling for Biden to step down? What was the true meaning of Obama aide David Axelrod’s tweet that the debate over Biden’s candidacy should have happened a year ago? Or when another Obama hand, David Plouffe, said it was DEFCON-ONE moment for Biden? Who did Obama prefer for 2024: his former vice president he made the 2020 candidate or the unelectable also-ran he slipped into the No. 2 slot to sneak her past the electorate when Biden’s malfunctions proved, finally, irreparable? Was the moment ripe for Operation Kamala?

As it happens, the timing backfired on Obama. The attempt on Trump’s life leaves him holding the bag. If Obama is responsible for calling the shots, then he must also be held accountable for them.

It’s no surprise that the left’s investigation into the roots of our current round of political violence has carefully avoided mention of the riots that filled college campuses across the country and the streets of American cities with Palestinian terror advocates.

Indeed, the fascist-fighting New Republic now employs a pro-Hamas reporter. “Good morning,” Talia Jane tweeted over a picture of Israel’s border being overrun on Oct. 7. This wasn’t terrorism, she explained, rather it was “state oppression vs rebellion against state repression.”

In an article for TNR, Jane defended: antisemitic protesters at a Manhattan exhibit commemorating the hundreds killed by Hamas at the Nova festival; vandals targeting the homes of Brooklyn Museum administrators for calling the police on violent protesters; attacks on pro-Israel Columbia University professor Shai Davidai; and terror supporters filling a subway car asking other riders to “raise your hand if you’re a Zionist.” It could have been dictated from a Doha hotel hosting Hamas leadership.

But Jane’s ideology is not that different from the message Obama pushed into the mainstream of the Democratic Party. “The occupation, and what is happening to Palestinians, is unbearable,” is how he framed the Oct. 7 massacre for his former staffers during a Pod Save America panel in November.

In 2015 the Obama White House struck an agreement with the Islamic Republic, legalizing its nuclear weapons program and thereby legitimizing the tactics it employs to accomplish its strategic goals—political violence, i.e., terrorism. The Iran nuclear deal was the instrument with which Obama normalized political violence.

Another Obama instrument cultivated it. Shortly before leaving office in 2017, Obama instructed his CIA Director John Brennan to produce an intelligence community assessment claiming that Vladimir Putin helped put Trump in the White House.

The purpose of the official assessment wasn’t just to undermine his successor’s presidency and hobble his administration with phony investigations sourced to the perverted fantasies of an FBI informant once employed by British intelligence.

No, lending the U.S. government’s executive authority to an information operation contending that one half of the electorate supported a foreign agent to govern the country was designed to destabilize America. Its purpose was to drive its citizens against each other.

That’s where we are today, still. These are the signs of a destabilized polity: the widespread prosecution of political opponents that was normalized in the wake of Jan. 6; mandating vaccines and villainizing those who resisted experimental medical treatments; recasting Trump supporters as domestic terrorists; opening borders to usher foreign criminals into middle-class communities; convicting elderly women for praying in front of abortion clinics; dispatching the FBI to raid the home of the opposition leader, unlawfully deputizing an officer to prosecute him, and most recently, but likely not summarily, the attempt on his life….

Only Trump Can Beat the Regime’s Lies

How is a political leader like Trump, who wants to return America to political sanity, supposed to speak and act in this environment, when fact-checkers spread falsehoods, and every organ of official opinion is in the grip of a pathological denial of reality?

To understand the left’s obsession with “Trump’s lies,” we have to consider the weird intellectual assumptions of their political framework, which may seem strange even to rank-and-file Democrat voters.

For the last 50 years, our elite universities have been promoting the postmodernist ideology that holds truth as entirely subjective, a function of power.

Whoever controls the levers of authority sets the ruling “narrative.” Of course, there will always be dissenters, but acceptable or legitimate opinion is determined by those who establish the official orthodoxy.

The French postmodernist Michel Foucault was probably the most influential thinker to promote the doctrine that power creates truth.

But if this dogma is how the intellectual ruling class understands truth, the very notion of lying takes on a new meaning. It does not mean—as it did in the old-fashioned or common sense understanding—saying something contrary to the facts.

“Lying” instead means opposing the official narrative of the regime. When Jill Biden accuses Trump of lies, she means that his opinions, and the opinions of his MAGA supporters, are illegitimate because they are contrary to the establishment orthodoxy. This is the attitude behind the government’s Orwellian campaign against “misinformation.”

What a Coincidence: DOJ ‘Finds’ Transcripts of Possible Biden Criminality Immediately After He Drops Out

AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin

The Department of Justice has “found” transcripts of exchanges between Joe Biden and his biographer that the department previously claimed didn’t exist. The acknowledgment was made to a federal judge on Monday evening as part of an ongoing attempt by several organizations to secure information via the Freedom of Information Act.

That comes nearly half a year after former special counsel Robert Hur ended his investigation into the president’s taking and mishandling of classified information. It also comes just one day after Biden dropped out of the presidential race. That timing will no doubt raise eyebrows.

These transcripts are a big deal because one of the most direct allegations of criminality involving Biden’s actions was that he shared classified information with his biographer.

Had these been handed over months ago, it could have dramatically escalated the stakes regarding Hur’s investigation and his subsequent report. It would have also deepened the scandal for a White House that was already in crisis given Biden’s other issues, including his mental and physical condition.

“To the Men and Women of the U.S. Secret Service, The Secret Service’s solemn mission is to protect our nation’s leaders and financial infrastructure,” Cheatle wrote in a letter to the agency. “On July 13th, we fell short on that mission.”

Cheatle said that the “scrutiny” over the last week “has been intense and will continue to remain as our operational tempo increases.”

“As your Director, I take full responsibility for the security lapse,” she wrote….
