‘Cartels are applauding’ Biden’s ‘perfectly comfortable’ migrant payouts: GOP tears into White House confirming settlements – as it’s revealed 284,000 border crossers have been released into US in last year and new caravan heads north
Close to 284,000 migrants apprehended at the southern border were released into the US by Border Patrol in fiscal year 2021, DailyMail.com has confirmed.
The data was shared by Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar.
That figure, which represents 1-in-6 of the 1.66 million people apprehended and released at the southern border from Oct. 1 2020 to Sept. 30 2021, comes after a report last month showed 160,000 migrants had been released into the US since March alone.
Those figures do not include the hundreds of thousands of others released into the US by agencies like Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement and Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Meanwhile, a new caravan 4,000-strong is in Mexico making its way toward the US.
The caravan – made up of Africans, Caribbeans, Central Americans and South Americas – has seen its progress slow over the 12 days of travel, as migrants have had to stop and rest to recover from illnesses and injuries.

The traditionally conservative southern California bastion announced the progressive policy on Tuesday after a unanimous City Council vote.
Councilmember Raul Campillo and Council President Jennifer Campbell – both Democrats – proposed the Inclusive Language Policy, which was passed in July and approved by the Council this week.
Campillo was among a blue wave that swept into office after last year’s elections, giving the Democrats an 8-1 supermajority on the City Council.
Moving forward, city policies will be required to use ‘they’ and ‘their’ instead of ‘he’ and ‘she,’ and to use words such as ‘humankind’ instead of ‘mankind.’
Migrant Arrests in Mexico Hit Unprecedented Levels, but Record Numbers Still Reaching U.S.
The result is that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents interdicted an unprecedented 1.7 million-plus migrants along the southern border in the 12-month period ending on September 30, known as the fiscal year.
Analysts have historically used apprehension data as a rough measure of migration flows to the U.S. The data does not account for illegal migrants who successfully make it into the United States.
A growing wave of U.S.-bound global migrants, largely from the Caribbean and South America, is fueling record high migrant arrests in Mexico and the United States.
In September, nearly four (35.5 percent) of every ten migrants taken into custody by Mexican authorities hailed from outside Central America’s Northern Triangle (NT) region (Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador).
The rate was similar in the United States. Extra-continentals made up 36 percent of all 192,001 apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico border for September, according to the latest official data released by President Joe Biden’s administration last month.

Miyares, joined by Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman, said his office would have a “shift of focus” from that of outgoing Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring (D).

Manhunt Underway for Suspect Accused of Shooting Officer on Domestic Call

Not many details have been reported about the shooting, including the officer’s name, but authorities said it began when the officer was dispatched to the area regarding a domestic dispute.
“The officer was shot while attempting to arrest the suspect and rushed to Piedmont Henry Hospital, but the officer’s injuries were too severe, and was diverted to the trauma center at Grady Memorial Hospital, police said,” Fox noted. “At last report, the officer was in critical but stable condition.”
The Henry County Police Department shared a photo of the suspect and said Jackson could be traveling in a white 2021 Dodge Ram with GA TAG CRX4743:

Iowa teacher’s body found under tarp at park, 2 students charged in killing
Nohema Graber, 66, taught at Fairfield High School, which is in the southeastern part of the state. Preliminary evidence indicates that she suffered from “trauma to the head,” according to court filings. She had been reported missing on Tuesday and her body was located at Chautauqua Park in Fairfield the next day.
Willard Noble Chaiden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodale were charged as adults in the killing.
The Associated Press, citing court documents, reported that police were tipped off about a possible motive from a social media post by Goodale. Police said they found clothing with apparent bloodstains at the suspects’ homes.

Of the nearly 160 ships waiting to dock and offload cargo, Marine Exchange estimates 102 vessels are containers ships waiting to move cargo onto the docks, including 76 ships that are anchored or loitering outside the bay.
One challenge truck drivers are experiencing is California’s “climate change” red tape. The South Coast Air Quality Management District issued a rule in May that requires supply chain points to hire electric vans or trucks instead of trucks that have larger capacity, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Moreover, the state’s Air Resources Board has required truckers to reduce trucking emissions, making it more costly and difficult to transport freight from ports to warehouses.
Truck drivers, many of whom are immigrants, must not only keep up with California’s burdensome regulations, they are required to finance their own trucks, along with repairs.
State Department: Thousands of U.S. Residents Still Stuck in Afghanistan
The State Department believes as many as 14,000 U.S. legal permanent residents remain in Afghanistan, Foreign Policy has learned, as the agency faces increasing scrutiny from Congress about the status of U.S. citizens and green card holders that are still stranded in the Taliban-controlled country.
“Isn’t the operating assumption about 14,000?” Republican Rep. Chris Smith asked Brian McKeon, deputy secretary of state for management and resources, at a hearing on Wednesday, referring to the figure briefed in private.
“We don’t track [legal permanent residents],” McKeon responded.
The State Department insisted it does not have an exact tally of U.S. legal permanent residents (LPRs) in Afghanistan in a statement to Foreign Policy. “We do not have an exact number of LPRs and their immediate family members who have departed or who remain in Afghanistan,” a State Department spokesperson said in an email.

Build Back Better Act: Immigration provision grants 5-year parole to some migrants, shielding from deportation
Parole would allow some 6.8 million immigrants who entered the United States before Jan. 1, 2011 — and have continued to live in the country since — to obtain travel and work permits, plus drivers’ licenses or state identification cards.
DHS is currently required to grant parole to qualifying individuals entering the country, but this new provision would allow the secretary to offer parole to those who have already been living within U.S. borders for a decade or longer.
The provision also prohibits the DHS secretary from revoking an individual’s parole unless the secretary “determines that the individual is ineligible for parole, based on the policies and implementing guidance that were in effect when the individual was initially granted parole.”

‘Let’s Go Brandon’ a reflection of decline in Biden’s approval ratings
The Australian’s Washington Correspondent Adam Creighton says the “Let’s Go Brandon” phenomenon demonstrates the decline in Joe Biden’s approval ratings.
The slogan started as a chant from a NASCAR crowd saying “Let’s go Brandon” for the winning driver, but the chants sounded like an anti-Biden slur, which then started a trend. Mr Creighton said it is “an extraordinary phenomenon” and “is a very unflattering thing to say about Joe Biden”.

Victoria Shadow Health Minister Georgie Crozier says news the Andrews government is underreporting the number of COVID-19 patients in ICU is “enormously concerning”.
According to data attained by The Age, there were 181 COVID-19 patients in ICU beds of Victoria yesterday, far more than the 114 patients reported by the Victorian Department of Health.
“Why are they hiding this data,” Ms Crozier said. “How can we trust this government if they’re not being upfront?”
