Despite extracting troops from the country following the Taliban’s victory in 2021, Biden has maintained America’s status as the “largest donor to the Afghan people, having appropriated more than $2.35 billion since the Taliban takeover in August 2021,” according to the SIGAR report,

John Sopko, the Special Inspector in charge of SIGAR, wrote in the report that the Biden Administration’s prodigious donations to Afghanistan raise significant concerns because the Taliban has strongarmed humanitarian organizations on the ground into diverting emergency funds.

“[I]t is no longer a question of whether the Taliban are diverting assistance from our programs to help the Afghan people, but rather how much they are diverting,” Sopko wrote in the introductory letter to this quarter’s report. “[M]y staff and I find the degree of interference and the apparent inability of the UN to protect its programs deeply troubling.”

EXCLUSIVE: Biden Admin Increases Migrant Releases as Border Policies Crumble Under Another Surge

File Photo: Randy Clark/Breitbart Texas

The directive did not limit the release of migrant family unit members by nationality or reason for illegally entering the county. No process of qualifying for relief or conduct of asylum credible fear hearings was mandated.

The need to quickly alleviate facility overcrowding became dire over the weekend. As reported by Breitbart Texas, some Border Patrol facilities were at more than double capacity on Saturday.

The releases may spell trouble for some cities and states struggling to cope with hundreds of migrants arriving daily. In New York City, Mayor Eric Adams is demanding more assistance from the federal government as mostly single adult migrants were recently forced to sleep on the sidewalk outside the Roosevelt Hotel.

The single adult migrants were left outdoors waiting for accommodations due to the need to accommodate family unit migrants with children who were given priority, according to Adams.

McConnell Says Impeachment ‘Not Good for Country’ as GOP Lawmakers Mixed on Biden Impeachment

(Mandel Ngan/AFP via Getty Images)

The Republican Senate leader said “impeachment ought to be rare, rather than common,” but added, “I’m not surprised that having been treated the way they were, House Republicans last Congress began to open up the possibility of doing it again. And I think this is not good for the country to have repeated impeachment problems.”

Mr. McConnell did not provide further comment when asked by NTD News whether he believes Republicans have a viable impeachment case against President Biden, based on the standards shown in the two prior impeachments of President Trump. Mr. McConnell voted against impeaching President Trump in both cases.

NTD News reached out to Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) about his thoughts on the standards for impeachment, having favored the two impeachments against President Trump. Mr. Schumer’s office did not respond by the time this article was published.

After Delays, Twitter Hands Over Trump’s Account Data to Special Counsel Smith: Court Document

 (Joseph Prezioso/AFP via Getty Images)

The existence of the warrant was revealed in a sealed July 18 decision by the District of Columbia federal appeals court. The court reissued the decision and released it publicly on Aug. 9 with sealed information removed (pdf).

As the document details, X initially didn’t comply with the warrant and, after missing the deadline by four days, informed the special counsel that it wouldn’t comply and instead challenge in court a non-disclosure order that required the company to keep the warrant secret, even from President Trump, for 180 days.

X did file its challenge in the D.C. federal district court on Feb. 2, while Mr. Smith moved to have X held in contempt for non-compliance.

The court sided with Mr. Smith in the argument that X still needed to comply with the warrant even while challenging the non-disclosure order. On Feb. 7, the court conditionally held X in contempt, giving the company several hours to comply to avoid sanctions.

Lawmakers uncover evidence multiple FBI offices involved in anti-Catholic memo, contradicting Wray

Wray had testified that the memo was isolated to the work of the FBI office in Richmond and he repudiated the behavior, but Committee Chairman Jim Jordan said new evidence his investigators received suggested other office were involved, including Los Angeles and Portland.

Jordan (R-Ohio) and Subcommittee Chairman Mike Johnson (R-La.) sent a letter to Wray, requesting communications between the FBI Richmond Field Office and other offices it was in contact with regarding the memo, including the Portland and Los Angeles offices.

“In fact, the new document—a lesser-redacted version of the anti-Catholic memo—explicitly shows that both FBI Portland and FBI Los Angeles field offices were involved in or contributed to the creation of the FBI’s assessment of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists,” the letter stated.

Obama’s Fraudulent Legacy Is Being Exposed, And It’s On The Wrong Side Of History

IMAGE CREDITU.S. GOVERNMENT/RAWPIXEL/PUBLIC DOMAIN

Ironically enough, I thought of the “permission structure” remark reading David Samuels’ interview in Tablet with Obama biographer David Garrow, which is shaping up to be perhaps the most discussed piece of journalism of the year. That’s because the entire article is a really effective “permission structure” for a lot of Obama voters and moderates to finally admit he’s an entirely overrated, largely failed president who was far more radical than he ever let on. He’s also obsessed with celebrity and not very loyal to the people who helped him along the way.

In other words, he’s pretty much the guy his critics on the right said he was all along.

To be clear, that’s my gloss on it, and while I don’t think it’s an unfair summation, I wouldn’t want to claim to speak on behalf of Samuels or Garrow.

But I think it’s undeniable the article does real damage to Obama’s reputation because the many criticisms in the piece are rooted in factual revelations about Obama’s past and the considered opinion of Garrow, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1987 for his biography of Martin Luther King Jr. (In addition to decades of work as a civil rights historian, Garrow is a major historian of abortion.)

Garrow was considered an important enough scholar that Obama sat for eight hours of interviews with him while he was still president. And it’s clear his opinion of Obama is somewhere between dismissive and contemptuous.
