Iowa school shooter at Perry High School confirmed by police to be student Dylan Butler, tied to ‘genderfluid’ and ‘transitioning’ social media posts

Butler allegedly had a TikTok account where he went by the username “tooktoomuch.” The student’s last post was him inside a bathroom stall with a duffel bag on the ground next to him. The still video featured the words “now we wait” with a song called “Stray Bullets” playing. Police are investigating these assets.
The account, which has since been wiped by TikTok, featured an anime girl as the avatar, with the biography only featuring the gay pride flag and identifying as a “dj.”
A Reddit account believed to belong to Bulter posted on the board r/Trans in response to the question “for those who haven’t started transitioning yet. What’s holding you back?”

Prosecutor on Jack Smith team discouraged FBI from investigating Clinton Foundation in 2016

A top prosecutor on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team discouraged the FBI from pursuing an investigation into the Clinton Foundation in 2016 due to what he viewed asnegligible evidence, despite multiple Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) related to hundreds of thousands of dollars in foreign transactions, Fox News Digital has learned.
Ray Hulser, the former chief of the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section (PIN), who serves on Smith’s team currently prosecuting former President Trump, was identified as the official who “declined prosecution” of the Clinton Foundation in 2016 in Special Counsel John Durham’s report.
The report reveals that the case was opened referring to an intelligence product and corroborating financial reporting that a particular commercial “industry likely engaged a federal public official in a flow of benefits scheme, namely, large monetary contributions were made to a non-profit, under both direct and indirect control of the federal public official, in exchange for favorable government action and/or influence.”

23andMe told victims of data breach that suing is futile, letter shows

23andMe is “shamelessly” blaming victims of a data breach impacting 6.9 million users, a lawyer representing victims pursuing a class-action lawsuit, Hassan Zavareei, told TechCrunch.
Last year, hackers accessed 14,000 accounts on 23andMe by using passwords that had been previously breached during security incidents on other websites. By using this tactic, known as credential stuffing, hackers could access the personal data of millions of 23andMe users who opted into a DNA Relatives feature, including genetic information like the percentage of DNA shared with compromised users.
So far, 23andMe has been hit with more than 30 lawsuits filed in US federal and state courts, as well as courts in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, as a result of the breach, suggesting that 23andMe could end up owing much more than $5 million.
ISIS Claims Responsibility for Deadly Bombings in Iran That Killed Dozens

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the deadly twin blasts at a memorial for slain Iranian Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani that left dozens dead and scores injured, according to the terror monitoring group SITE.
At least 84 people were killed and 284 others injured in the attacks, according to state-run news agency IRNA, making them the deadliest in Iran since the 1979 revolution.
According to SITE, ISIS issued a statement on Thursday to say that two suicide bombers detonated their explosive vests as Shiite mourners gathered to observe the fourth anniversary of the killing of Soleimani near his grave site in his hometown of Kerman, in southern Iran.

TurboTax maker Intuit’s $100 million tax credits challenged by US lawmakers

TurboTax maker Intuit’s tax breaks are being questioned by four US lawmakers who object to the federal research tax credits claimed by the company. A letter sent this week claims that the amount of Intuit’s tax credit could have been used by the Internal Revenue Service to offer free online tax filing to many Americans.
The letter was sent to Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi by US Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and US Representative Katie Porter (D-Calif.)
Intuit’s regulatory filing said the company’s federal research and experimentation tax credits were $70 million in fiscal 2021, $94 million in 2022, and $106 million in 2023. Intuit’s fiscal year runs through July 31.
Abortion Pills are Increasingly Falling Into the Hands of Violent Predators Who Prey on Women

“Abusers in homes across the nation and worldwide have utilized Chemical Abortion Pills in the same way that Herring allegedly did. The vehicle of disguise, however, does change.
Women have had deadly abortion pills slipped into their tea, Starbucks, orange juice, yogurt, pancakes, sandwiches, and cereal. In another case, an abuser lied to his partner about what the life-ending drug was, saying it was an antibiotic.
If it’s something a woman can ingest without suspicion, it can be used as a cover-up. Abusers aren’t picky — just as long as it kills their inconvenience.”
With this in mind, it’s alarming that we don’t know who is receiving these pills and why as their distribution clearly affects domestic abuse and sex trafficking.

Multiple people injured in shooting at Perry, Iowa high school: police

Zander Shelley, 15, was in a hallway waiting for the school day to start when he heard gunshots and dashed into a classroom, his father, Kevin Shelley, told the AP. Zander was grazed twice and hid in the classroom before texting his father at 7:36 a.m.
Rachael Kares, an 18-year-old senior, told the AP she was at jazz band practice when students heard what sounded like four gunshots, spaced apart.
“We all just jumped,” Kares said. “My band teacher looked at us and yelled, ‘Run!’ So we ran.”
Kares said students and faculty ran out past the football field, with people yelling, “Get out! Get out!” as they ran. She said she heard additional shots while she fled, but was most concerned about getting home to her 3-year-old son.
Trump files ‘powerhouse’ motion calling for Special Counsel Jack Smith to be held in contempt of court

Former President Donald Trump’s attorneys filed what his campaign called a “powerhouse” motion on Thursday calling for a federal judge to hold Special Counsel Jack Smith in contempt of court for allegedly “repeatedly violating” a stay order in his 2020 election investigation.
Smith’s case against Trump, the 2024 GOP frontrunner, is on pause as Trump’s attorneys appeal the case and argue that presidential immunity protects him from being prosecuted. The trial had been set to begin on March 4.
“The Stay Order is clear, straightforward, and unambiguous,” Trump attorney John Lauro wrote in the filing Thursday. “All substantive proceedings in this Court are halted. Despite this clarity, the prosecutors began violating the Stay almost immediately.”

Illinois Judge Closes Juvenile Detention Center After “Facility in Crisis” Fails to Meet New State Standards

The Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center had been featured in a November report by Capitol News Illinois and ProPublica that exposed the state’s lax enforcement of its own standards, despite audits that repeatedly found poor conditions at the facility.
In the summer of 2023, the facility was sued by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, alleging it had violated youths’ constitutional rights by subjecting them to excessive forms of restraint and seclusion while denying them adequate education and mental health services. The facility had still not come into compliance as of the end of 2023.
The November article by Capitol News Illinois and ProPublica found that some of the conditions noted by state auditors more than a year prior had continued at the facility in Benton, as well as in some of the other 15 juvenile detention centers where problems had been identified.
DC crime spiral takes new twist with apparent call for shoplifters to ‘unite’ against retailer: report

Retail theft has exploded in cities across the U.S. in recent years, most notably in California, where smash-and-grabs and rampant shoplifting has led to dozens of stores shuttering due to crime and public safety concerns.
A study published by Forbes Advisor in November found that Washington, D.C., had the second-highest retail theft index out of any city examined in the study and cost residents an average of $336 per person.
Last month, five suspects were spotted carrying out a smash-and-grab at a Chanel store, making off with $250,000 worth of merchandise while one suspect deployed a fire extinguisher, ostensibly as a distraction and to cause confusion.

Congressional lawmakers from both sides of the aisle disclosed $1 billion worth of financial transactions in 2023, a report by Unusual Whales found Tuesday, an estimate based on the maximum disclosed amounts.
The staggering volume raises concerns that many members of Congress trade stocks based on information unavailable to the public.
Members of Congress traded fewer stocks than last year due to House members selling stocks more than buying them, the report found.
US carries out strike targeting Iraqi militia leader in Baghdad: official

Four members of an Iran-aligned Iraqi militia group — including a high-ranking Iraqi militia commander — were killed in a drone strike in Baghdad on Thursday, according to reports by The Associated Press and Reuters.
A U.S. official has confirmed to Fox News that the U.S. was responsible for the strike, which targeted an Iraqi militia leader in Baghdad who is believed responsible for attacks on U.S. forces.
The official says this was a precision strike on a vehicle and not a hit on a whole facility as other outlets have reported. The strike targeted a leader of the Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, an Iraqi Shi’ite military group, the U.S. official said.
Woman Tortured with Scalding Pot, Lighter Fluid by Boyfriend Who Asked How She Wanted to Die, Killed by Gunshot Wound

ANew York State woman who disappeared in October before she was scheduled to testify against her ex-boyfriend for torturing her and setting another woman on fire, died Monday after being shot in the head on Christmas Day, according to a report.
The shooting happened six days after her former boyfriend, Houston Ketter III, was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison after being convicted of abusing Lemmons-Dixon by burning her, breaking her arm and threatening to light her on fire.
Ketter also was convicted of trying to kill a 38-year-old woman by dousing her with charcoal lighter fluid and setting her on fire on a city street in November 2022 as an “example” of the cost of crossing him, the report said.
Witnesses described him laughing as he walked away.

WATCH: Anti-Israel Radicals Stage Insurrection in California State Capitol; Assembly Shut Down; No Arrests

The disruption was staged bythree so-called “Jewish” groups whose claim to Jewish identity is never verified and who, at best, represent a radical fringe of the American Jewish community. Two of the three groups have a history of support for terrorism.
The most common charge against those who entered the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, was “obstructing an official proceeding.” No such charges will be brought against the insurrectionists in Sacramento, though they did the same.
Politico noted: “It’s the third time in recent months that cease-fire demonstrators have disrupted a major political event in California, highlighting a widening rift between progressive activists and more mainstream Democrats over the conflict.”
