In The News Today:
How COULD a troubled 14-year-old be taken by the state and transitioned against her parents’ will? MAUREEN CALLAHAN’s grave warning that YOUR child could be next in America’s nightmarish trans dystopia

Talk about American dystopia.
In an apparent and horrifying act of governmental overreach, a troubled teenager has been removed from her home after Child Protective Services determined that she needed to transition.
The parents in question don’t seem to be neglectful bigots.
The case in question involves Jennifer Kolstad, now 14 years old, from Glasgow, Montana. While at school in August 2023, Jennifer (her first name is a pseudonym) told friends she wanted to commit suicide.
These friends went to the police and, later that night, the CPS showed up at the Kolstad house. Jennifer’s father Todd and stepmother Krista were cooperative. They allowed the case worker to look around their home and interview Jennifer alone, but prefaced this with critical information: Jennifer – they claimed – was a troubled child who had issues with telling the truth.
Russia launches brutal WW1-style ‘deadly chemical weapons attacks’ in Ukraine

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), on Tuesday, wrote on X: “Russian forces appear to be continuing to violate the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) to which Russia is a signatory.”
Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, the spokesperson for the Tavria Ukrainian military group, revealed on Tuesday that Russian forces had been utilizing the chemical weapon known as chloropicrin.
Chloropicrin, commonly employed in the agricultural industry for its antimicrobial and pesticidal properties, also has a dark history as a chemical weapon due to its irritant effects, notably observed during World War I.

Florida doctor used hidden camera to record teen patient, police say

The deputy chief said on her first two visits, the victim was accompanied with a parent. According to the police, she was instructed to change in a bathroom and was given a towel to cover herself up because the paper gown she had was too thin.
However, authorities said on her third and fourth visit, she was sent to an exam room to change without a towel. It was on the fourth visit that she saw the partially hidden ring camera with the record light on.
“Obviously, she’s shaken,” Schulze said. “She’s upset by this. She’s a 16-year-old girl. I think any adult would be shaken by that, just a complete breach of trust here from a doctor.”
Unacceptable UN Agency Actions
The UK and the US are among more than 10 countries that have suspended funding to the UN’s relief agency in Gaza (UNRWA) after an Israeli intelligence dossier claimed 12 employees were involved in the attack on Israel by Hamas fighters on October 7th.
Israel confirms flooding of Hamas tunnels

In a statement shared with Israeli media, the IDF said that it had developed and was using “several tools for injecting high-flow water into Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip.” Not all of the roughly 350-400 miles of tunnels are being targeted, the military said, adding that the operation would cause unacceptable damage in some areas.
Israeli forces installed several high-flow pumps in Gaza late last year and experimented with pumping seawater from the Mediterranean into the underground labyrinth, the Wall Street Journal reported at the time.
In a follow-up report on Monday, the American newspaper said that the flooding operation had expanded, with the installation of an additional pump in the city of Khan Younis, located in the south of the enclave.
Ukrainian Troops Say Military Supports Zaluzhny Totally, Kyiv Politicians Need to Back Off

Support for Ukrainian military commander Valery Zaluzhny is close to universal among troops and a possible plan of President Volodymyr Zelensky to replace him, if it exists, is dangerous to national security and the war effort, soldiers recently interviewed by Kyiv Post said.
Several fighters suggested the Ukrainian president was, with possible Zaluzhny replacement plans, placing his and his government’s popularity with voters ahead of national security.
Frustration with civilian politicians, either ignorant of or not caring about difficult conditions faced by front line soldiers, was a common theme among the total of ten service members interviewed on Wednesday.
Russia and Ukraine conduct largest ever prisoner swap

A total of 195 Russian servicemen have returned home from Ukrainian-controlled territory as a result of negotiations, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement, while 195 POWs were handed over to Kiev.
The exchange is the largest to date since the start of the conflict between the two countries.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has also confirmed the swap, but provided a different figure in respect of the released Ukrainian POWs. “Our boys are home. 207 guys,” he wrote on Telegram. Zelensky didn’t explain where the alleged extra 12 POWs had come from.

Christian Navy veteran charged with hate crime for beheading demon statue at Iowa Capitol

Hundreds of statues of historical and religious significance have been toppled throughout the United States in recent years. Rather than stop the iconoclasts responsible, government officials have in many cases rewarded them — at least when they were not themselves directly responsible.
However, it became clear this week that the powers that be still hold some things sacred: abortion clinics and satanic idols.
Within hours of a federal court finding six more pro-life activists guilty of peacefully demonstrating inside an infamous late-term abortion clinic, Christian Navy veteran Michael Cassidy was charged with a hate crime Tuesday for toppling a satanic statute last year at the Iowa Capitol.

Vegas teen previously accused of gleefully mowing down retired police chief in stolen car charged in unrelated stabbing

New criminal charges filed on Jan. 19 indicate this monstrous bloodletting may not have been Ayala’s first. Another victim has stepped forward, accusing Ayala of a crime that occurred in June 2023.
“Recently it came to our attention that [Ayala] allegedly was involved in an attempted murder case, a stabbing, so we charged him with crimes resulting in that,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told KSNV-TV.
Months ahead of Ayala’s alleged August rampage, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a report that a stabbing victim whose torso and ear had been slashed multiple times walked into the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada on June 27, reported KVVU-TV.

Iran Threatens to ‘Decisively Respond’ to US Strikes

Violence has erupted across the Mideast, with Iran striking targets in Iraq, Pakistan and Syria, and the U.S. carrying out airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Houthi rebels over their attacks shipping in the Red Sea. Some observers fear a new round of strikes targeting Iran could tip the region into a wider war.
A U.S. Navy destroyer in the waterway shot down an anti-ship cruise missile launched by the Houthis late Tuesday, the latest attack targeting American forces patrolling the key maritime trade route, officials said. The U.S. later launched a new round of airstrikes targeting the Houthis.
The Iranian warnings first came from Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in New York. He gave a briefing to Iranian journalists late Tuesday, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.

In the latest Issues and Insights/TIPP poll, released early Wednesday, 64% said they are “living ‘paycheck to paycheck’ these days.”
Even those with good incomes are struggling, the poll analysis said. “More than half of those in the wealthiest income bracket — those earning $75,000 or more a year (53%) — and those who are investors (51%), another relatively wealthy group, each said they’re also having trouble making ends meet on a monthly basis,” the analysis said.
People also don’t have much put away for emergencies, the survey said. Some 24% reported $0 saved, and another 20% said they had just $1,000 set aside.

Florida Gov. DeSantis Calls For Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar To Be Ousted And Deported

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday joined a growing chorus of conservative lawmakers and pundits who want radical left-wing Rep. Ilhan Omar tossed from Congress, and perhaps kicked out of the country.
The Republican governor was reacting to recent reporting about a speech that Omar, a native of Somalia, recently gave in which she expressed allegiance to her native land and suggested the U.S. government would do the bidding of Somalis.
“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” DeSantis posted on his personal X account in commenting on a post of Omar’s speech last week.

Houthis Claim Missile Attack on U.S. Navy Warship

European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Wednesday the EU may soon join the United States and United Kingdom in patrolling the Red Sea to defend civilian ships against Houthi attacks.
Borrell said European firms are pleading for more protection so they can use the much faster and less expensive Red Sea-Suez Canal route for shipping instead of sailing around Africa. He stressed that if the EU does get involved, it will only act to defend civilian ships against Houthi attacks rather than join in punitive U.S. and UK strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen.
The attack on USS Gravely was the second Houthi missile launch at a U.S. Navy ship in less than a week. On Friday, the insurgents fired a missile at the destroyer USS Carney in the Gulf of Aden. The Carney was also able to intercept the Houthi weapon without damage or injuries.

Mark Zuckerberg, TikTok and X CEOs grilled over failure to stop child exploitation at hearing: ‘You have blood on your hands’

As the hearing kicked off on Wednesday, the committee played a video in which children spoke about being victimized on the social media platforms.
“I was sexually exploited on Facebook,” said one child in the video, who appeared in shadow.
In the hearing room, dozens of parents stood waiting for the CEOs to enter, holding pictures of their children.
The committee last year approved several bills, including one that would remove tech firms’ immunity from civil and criminal liability under child sexual abuse material laws that was first proposed in 2020. None have become law.
