Escalation Without Nuclear War: What Will China Learn from Ukraine’s Kursk Offensive?

In summary, Russia refrained from escalating because it was confident in its ability to push back the Ukrainians, who never threatened key interests. Conversely, if the attack had emanated from a more potent enemy like NATO or if it had targeted something of high-value, Moscow might have used nuclear weapons. This matches other historical cases of nuclear powers under attack. The United States in Korea in 1950, Israel in 1973, Britain in 1982, and India in 1999 all eschewed nuclear use because conventional solutions were available, and the state’s core remained intact.
These insights seem to validate Taiwan’s purported plans to strike Chinese territory with cruise missiles in case of an invasion. Like Ukraine, Taiwan is weaker than its more powerful neighbor and cannot threaten the survival of the Chinese state. Hence, if the Russian case serves as a yardstick, Beijing would not escalate following Taiwanese strikes. Similarly, other smaller neighbors like Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and Australia should be able to get away relatively unscathed if they were to attack Chinese territory for whatever reason during a conflict.
Things get more complex regarding more potent rivals like India and the United States. The Sino-Indian border dispute could easily spiral out of control. However, unlike Taiwan, India is a massive country with a large military. If India were to seize Chinese territory, it might confront Beijing with a tricky dilemma. Dislodging entrenched Indian forces in the Himalayan Mountains through conventional forces alone would be extremely costly and bloody. At the same time, an Indian border incursion would not threaten anything essential. Escalation would be a real possibility but not guaranteed.
For the United States, munching on Chinese territory on the margins might be possible. One could notably imagine U.S. forces securing islands in the South China Sea without nuclear escalation since these are hardly strategic assets for the Chinese state’s survival. A bombing campaign and small special forces attack against Chinese mainland military targets may even go unpunished. However, since the United States is a formidable rival, anything above that might elicit a desperate response from Beijing. …
Ukraine Is Getting 49 More M1 Abrams Tanks from Australia

Ukrainian armored and mechanized units can look forward to some positive news as forty-nine M1A1 Abrams are heading to Ukraine. Sporting a 120mm main gun and advanced armor, the M1A1 Abrams can tackle anything the Russian military can throw at it.
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in their fight against Russian aggression,” Pat Conroy, the Australian minister for defense industry and capability, said during a press conference in London on Wednesday. “With this illegal invasion, Russia is trying to take us back to a world where only great powers are truly sovereign and their actions are above the law.
The official announcement of the transfer will take place tomorrow during the NATO Defense Ministerial conference in Brussels, Belgium. With this transfer, Australia has committed military assistance to Ukraine worth around $1.3 billion.
Canberra decided to transfer the forty-nine M1 Abrams to Ukraine because the new M1A2 Abrams will be arriving soon. In 2022, Australia signed a contract worth $3.5 billion for the purchase of 120 M1A2 Abrams…
Listeria recall grows to 5.4 million kilograms of meat and poultry

A nationwide recall of meat and poultry products potentially contaminated with listeria has expanded to nearly 15.4 million kilograms (12 million pounds) and now includes ready-to-eat meals sent to U.S. schools, restaurants and major retailers, federal officials said.
The updated recall includes prepared salads, burritos and other foods sold at stores including Costco, Trader Joe’s, Target, Walmart and Kroger.
The meat used in those products was processed at a Durant, Oklahoma, manufacturing plant operated by BrucePac. The Woodburn, Oregon-based company sells precooked meat and poultry to industrial, foodservice and retail companies across the country.
The recall, issued on October 9, includes foods produced between May 31 and October 8. The USDA has posted a 342-page list of hundreds of potentially affected foods, including chicken wraps sold at Trader Joe’s, chicken burritos sold at Costco and many types of salads sold at stores such as Target and Walmart. The foods were also sent to school districts and restaurants across the country.
The recalled foods can be identified by establishment numbers “51205 or P-51205” inside or under the USDA mark of inspection. Consumers can search on the USDA recall site to find potentially affected products. Such foods should be thrown away or returned to stores for refunds, officials said.
Eating foods contaminated with listeria can cause potentially serious illness. About 1,600 people are infected with listeria bacteria each year in the U.S. and about 260 die, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention…
Full-scale replica of Anne Frank’s hidden annex to be unveiled in New York City

The Anne Frank House Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, will be bringing a significant piece of history to New York City.
Anne Frank’s annex where she hid during World War II from Nazi occupiers will be replicated on a full scale for a display entitled, “Anne Frank The Exhibition.”
“For the first time in history, the Anne Frank House will present what I would call a pioneering experience outside of Amsterdam. To immerse visitors in a full-scale, meticulous recreation of the secret annex,” Anne Frank House director Ronald Leopold told The Associated Press.
“Those rooms [are] where Anne Frank, her parents, her sister [and] four other Jews spent more than two years hiding to evade Nazi capture,” said Leopold.
Frank penned her famous dairy while in the annex that gave the world a glimpse into what life was like living under Nazi occupation.
She started her diary when she was just 13 years old, shortly before her family went into hiding.
For two years she lived in that “secret annex” with her parents and sister. Along the way, other Jews joined them in hiding.
The Frank family mainly lived on the second and third floor of the annex. The only entrance was a secret entryway behind a revolving bookcase, according to the Anne Frank House…
Israel Resumes Airstrikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Beirut Terror Stronghold
“A short while ago, with the direction of precise IDF intelligence, the IAF [Israeli Air Force] conducted a strike on strategic weapons belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization. These weapons were stockpiled by Hezbollah in an underground storage facility in the area of Dahieh, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold in Beirut,” the Israeli military said Wednesday morning.
“We are dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure, this is how it should be done—there is no other way,” the IDF deputy chief of the general staff, Maj Gen. Amir Baram said ahead of the strike.
The IDF took steps to “mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including advancing warnings to the population in the area” during the strike, the military assured.
As part of the ongoing Israeli operation ‘Northern Arrows’ in Southern Lebanon, the country’s navy destroyed an array of Hezbollah terror targets. Israeli warships and patrol vessels, backed by ground troops, targeted Hezbollah’s territorial terrorist assets, the IDF disclosed Wednesday….
FBI Faked Crime Drop by Leaving Out 1,699 Murders

The recurring joke was that under Obama and Biden, the economic projections always had to be revised downwards and under Trump, they had to be revised upwards.
Now the reverse is happening to crime statistics.
Democrats and their media have been hyping false claims that crime is down.
Biden claimed that crime was at a 50-year low. I’ve dissected some of these false claims in the past, but a key point in the debate was that some of the FBI crime data was missing because the way data was reported had changed.
Now the full crime data for 2022 is in and it turns out that the FBI had missed 1,699 murders. But what’s over a thousand dead folks when the goal is to fake a crime drop?
When the FBI originally released the “final” crime data for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the nation’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1%. This quickly became, and remains, a Democratic Party talking point to counter Donald Trump’s claims of soaring crime.
But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5%. The new data includes thousands more murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults.
The unmentioned additions, at least unmentioned by the feds, add “1,699 murders, 7,780 rapes, 33,459 robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults”….

Doctor Discovers Bizarre ‘Blinking Lights’ in COVID Shot – Video

Dr. Ana Maria Mihalcea appeared on the Children’s Health Defense show Good Morning CHD on September 25. The doctor revealed in an episode titled ‘What is in Our Blood‘ microscopy video of the Covid vaccination’s nanotechnology exhibiting a strange phenomenon – blinking lights.
Clips of Mihalcea’s appearance on the show and the bizarre phenomenon exhibited by the exotic gene therapy injections have now garnered over 100,000 views on X (formerly Twitter) as of the writing of this article. Notably, the clips were only posted to social media on Monday, making the view-count all the more impressive.
“This is what’s called nano and micro-robots communicating with each other via light signal and they are collaborating to self assemble,” the doctor said about the microscopy footage. “And so this is in the realm of self-assembling nanotechnology.”
She used a 4000x microscope equipped with a recording feature to capture the strange things.
Mihalcea said she has also observed the same phenomenon within the blood of humans.

Ireland ready to go it alone and restrict trade ties with Israel, taoiseach says

Ireland won’t wait for the rest of Europe to restrict trade with Israel over the occupation of the Palestinian territories and expects to receive legal advice next week on whether it can impose its own curbs, its taoiseach said on Wednesday.
Ireland “will not wait for everybody in Europe to move on the issue of trade in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Taoiseach Simon Harris told reporters on his way into a summit of EU and Gulf leaders.
“Next week, my government will receive formal advices from our own Attorney General as to what we may be able to do in this area,” he said, pointing to the fact that Europe “has not yet used every lever at its disposal” in order to bring a cease-fire in Gaza.
Ireland — which alongside Spain is one of the bloc’s fiercest critics of Israel’s escalating military response following the Hamas attack of Oct. 7, 2023 — said in August it would seek legal advice on whether it can review its trade ties with Israel unilaterally. This came after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued an opinion that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories was in breach of international law.
Biden announces $425 million in military aid for Ukraine

-U.S. President Joe Biden spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday about efforts to surge security assistance to Ukraine and announced a new $425 million military aid package, the White House said.
The security package includes air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles and critical munitions, the White House said in a statement.
Zelenskiy, writing on Telegram, expressed gratitude to Biden, both parties of Congress and the American people for the new package and said he spoke to Biden about Kyiv’s five-point “victory plan,” which he presented to parliament on Wednesday.
“I proposed considering the possibility of joint weapons production,” he said. “We also discussed the importance of additional training for Ukrainian soldiers.”..
A Born-Alive Abortions Eyewitness
We’re still thinking about the latest performance of OCTOBER 7 – The Play at UCLA last week. The performance was so moving – it brought our packed house to tears. But it also required a surreal level of security – helicopters and armed guards for a play that simply tells the unadorned truth about the attack on Israel on October 7? But that seems to be the reality of America in 2024.
If you think Los Angeles is showing its antisemitic stripes (which it is), wait until you hear what’s going on back in Ireland. The antisemitism is so bad there that Israeli and Jewish residents would rather live in an active war zone back in Israel than in Ireland.
Keep listening to the Scoop to hear how bomb attacks in Tel Aviv are more attractive than the green fields of Ireland.
Also on the show we’re putting one big lie about abortion to rest. Democrats keep saying there are no babies born alive after abortions and left to die. This is a lie, and we can prove it. Ann also has a very successful thread on X on this topic that you should read and promote: https://x.com/annmcelhinney/status/18…
But not only do we have documents, we have an eye witness. Today’s interview is with Jill Stanek, a former nurse who blew the whistle on Christ Hospital in Illinois for performing live-birth abortions. She personally rocked one of these babies who lived for 45 minutes until he died. Her story is incredibly powerful.
And what does it take to be hailed as a genius in today’s America? Just be a racist (as long as you hate white people), lean into identity politics, or spread climate hysteria. Or write really, really awful poetry about how much you hate white people.

Antisemite Francesca Albanese Slammed Over Repeated Anti-Israel Rhetoric

The World Jewish Congress slammed UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese on Tuesday for repeatedly engaging in Holocaust inversion by comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.
“The constant statements made by [Albanese] comparing Israel to Nazi Germany are not only deeply offensive, but a gross distortion of history,” the WJC wrote on X/Twitter.
The statement followed a post that Albanese made to the platform on Monday, where she wrote, “Our collective obliviousness to what led, 100 years ago, to the Third Reich’s expansionism and the genocide of people not in conformity with the “pure race” is asinine. And it is leading to the commission of yet another genocide, yet another regional war and potentially yet another global one.”
In response to a January 21 post on X by anti-Israel figure Mohammed El-Kurd, where the Palestinian activist claimed that Zionism was colonial and responsible for the “genocide” in Gaza, Albanese replied that her understanding of anti-Palestinian racism was shaped by the historical European racism toward Jews that led to the Holocaust.
In December, Albanese wrote that the Holocaust should have taught Europeans that genocide starts with dehumanization and that if “Israel’s current attack [against] Palestinians [doesn’t] prompt our strong reaction, the darkest page of our recent history has taught us nothing.”…
Jewish Youth Brutally Beaten in Antisemitic Hate Crime in France

A teenage Jewish boy was physically and verbally attacked in Levallois, a district of Paris, on Sunday night, according to reports by his mother and French news.
The boy, who was wearing his kippah, was called a “dirty Jew” by the attackers, who succeeded in throwing him to the ground and kicking him in the mouth.
The mother of the boy posted a picture of her son’s face, which was significantly bloodied, alongside the words “to all the mothers who think that leaving their son of 15/16 years old to hang out in Levallois is safe!”
“Here is how my son came back home this evening. 2 boys jumped on him. Luckily, he was able to defend himself, but they succeeded in throwing him to the ground and kicking him in the mouth. All that in the middle of the street.”
The post was subsequently shared on social media by the city’s former deputy mayor, Isabelle Balkany.
In an interview with C News, the boy’s mother said that the attackers had shouted, “Jew, come here, give us your cell phone!”. The incident allegedly took place at the entrance to a metro station at 7 p.m.
She said that her son quickly removed his kippah and walked away but that the attackers succeeded in grabbing him by the hood.
The attackers then reportedly put him in a corner next to a subway exit and demanded he give them his phone.
“They ripped off the earpieces he had in his ears, and then they hit him in the face and mouth,” the boy’s mother added.
The first deputy mayor of Levallois-Perret, David-Xavier Weiss, told C News that “[antisemitism] can happen anywhere in France, at any time. Of course, it happens in areas where there are more Jews.”
“Levallois is the city with the largest Jewish community in France, with 20,000 Jews and 65,000 inhabitants. Of course, the risks are increased in our town.”…
Anti-Israel rhetoric intensifies in critical battleground city: ‘Utterly chilling’

A crowd of rallygoers in Dearborn, Michigan, waved flags in support of Lebanon and chanted “Death to Israel” in an event attended by Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, while at another rally participants chanted a common threat against Jews.
Multiple events in Dearborn, a suburb west of Detroit, over the last few weeks have highlighted the growing resentment for Israel in the city as Vice President Kamala Harris attempts to shore up support among a fragile coalition in the vital swing state of Michigan.
Hammoud, the city’s mayor, spoke at a Sept. 25 rally in support of Lebanon and slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, which featured chants of “Death to Israel” and demands for Jews to be returned “back to Poland.”
“The reality is, they wish for us to divide ourselves,” Hammoud said at the rally, video of which was reported on by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “But my message is very clear. The values which we advocate for here in Dearborn, we understand, we not only want for the people within the city of Dearborn, but for the people across this globe.”
Community leader Osama Siblani helped lead the event, MEMRI reported, introducing Hammoud as “the greatest mayor in the United States of America,” and later praised Nasrallah, the former secretary-general of Hezbollah who was killed in an Israeli airstrike last month…

North Korea Sees 1.4M Army Applications Amid Tensions With South

North Korean state media said on Wednesday around 1.4 million young people had applied to join or return to the army this week, blaming Seoul for a provocative drone incursion that had brought the “tense situation to the brink of war.”
The fiery rhetoric comes after North Korea last week accused Seoul of sending drones over Pyongyang that scattered a “huge number” of anti-North leaflets. The North then blew up inter-Korean roads and rail lines on its side of the border on Tuesday, and warned that the South would “pay a dear price.”
The young people, including students and youth league officials who had signed petitions to join the army, were determined to fight in a “sacred war of destroying the enemy with the arms of the revolution,” the official KCNA news agency said.
“If a war breaks out, the ROK will be wiped off the map. As it wants a war, we are willing to put an end to its existence,” the KCNA report said, using the initials of the South’s official name, the Republic of Korea.
North Korea has previously made similar claims about young people scrambling to enlist at a time of heightened tensions, though such statements from the isolated state are difficult to verify.
Last year, state media reported on 800,000 of its citizens volunteering to join the North’s military to fight against the United States. It also said in 2017 that nearly 3.5 million workers, party members and soldiers volunteered to serve….
‘Game changing’: Navy reloads cruiser’s missiles at sea for first time

The Navy resupplied a warship’s weapons at sea for the first time last week – providing what Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro called a “game changing” update in combat readiness for the surface fleet.
The cruiser Chosin and its sailors employed the Transferrable Reload At-sea Method device, known as TRAM, to load the ship’s MK 41 Vertical Launching System off the coast of San Diego on Friday.
The TRAM prototype allows warships to rearm during the underway replenishment process when supply ships deliver fuel, food, and other critical supplies. This ability to reload at sea, rather than at shore, saves time for combatant ships and keeps them in the fight, instead of having to go into port to reload, according to the service.
For the at-sea demonstration, the Chosin teamed up with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship Washington Chambers to connect and transfer the missile canister to the cruiser. The team then utilized TRAM to transport the missile canister along rails connected to the cruiser’s VLS modules to successfully place it into a VLS cell, the Navy said…
China Refuses to Renounce Force Over Taiwan After Xi’s Visit

China will never commit to renouncing the use of force over Taiwan, the government in Beijing said on Wednesday after another bout of war games and a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to the scene of a famous defeat for Taiwanese forces.
“No matter how many troops Taiwan has and how many weapons it acquires, and no matter whether external forces intervene or not, if it (Taiwan) dares to take risks, it will lead to its own destruction,” he added.
“Our actions to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity will not cease for a moment.”
Chinese state media reported on Wednesday that President Xi had arrived the previous day on Dongshan island in China’s Fujian province, which faces Taiwan and where in 1953 China beat off an invasion attempt by Taiwan-based military.
The defeated Republic of China government fled to Taiwan in 1949 after losing a civil war with Mao Zedong’s communists. No armistice or peace treaty has ever been signed.
Taiwan’s government rejects China’s sovereignty claims, saying only the island’s people can decide their future.
Speaking to reporters in Taipei earlier on Wednesday, Taiwan National Security Bureau Director-General Tsai Ming-yen said China’s drills had backfired given the international condemnation they generated, especially from Washington….

Huge Spike in Antisemitism Over Last Year is Flashing Warning Sign – Pay Attention

By Liora Rez
Some version of this sentiment has been attributed to Irish statesman Edmund Burke, Spanish-American philosopher George Santayana, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Whoever said it, pay attention. The United States is experiencing a record level of antisemitism, and we can look to the past to understand what it means for our country today.
The Jewish people have a long history, mostly of being a small and distinct minority. Throughout the centuries, Jews have been first welcomed then viciously persecuted by various societies—often the most prominent of their time. Ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire, the Spanish Empire, to name a few.
Prior to the Holocaust, Germany was the most advanced, most cultured country on Earth. Then they turned on their Jews and launched a war that ultimately saw Germany devastated.
This is not because the Jews have demonic powers to control the world, as antisemites like Candace Owens would have you believe. No, it’s because a society that targets its Jews has an illiberal, stagnant culture where diverse ideas and innovation cannot thrive. Antisemitism is a symptom of a cancer that eats a civilization from the inside out.
We don’t want this to happen to America, the preeminent nation on Earth.
This great country was founded on religious freedom. In 1790, George Washington wrote to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, “May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one
shall sit in safety under his own vine and figtree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.”…
