ICE arrests alleged child sex predator, MS-13 gang member in Massachusetts

ICE arrested three illegal immigrants in Massachusetts this week for alleged forcible rape of children. (ICE)

ERO Boston also arrested Jose Luis Castro Jovel, described as a “24-year-old Salvadoran national and confirmed MS-13 gang member,” on Nov. 13 along a road in Northampton.

“Castro entered the United States on an unknown date, at an unknown location, without being inspected, admitted or paroled by a U.S. immigration official,” ICE said. “A Department of Justice immigration judge ordered his removal March 22, 2023, but he remained in the country.

“Northampton police arrested Castro Jan. 26 for assault and battery of a family or household member,” it added. “ERO Boston lodged an immigration detainer against him with the Northampton District Court, which followed him to the Hampden County Correctional Center, where he was detained following his arraignment. However, the Northampton District Court released him Feb. 12 without notifying ERO Boston.”

The latest arrests come after ICE announced on Wednesday the detention of two illegal immigrants who have been charged with forcibly raping children in Massachusetts, as well as a third individual who was convicted of raping a child in Brazil, and was hiding in the U.S. after being caught and released at the U.S. border in 2022.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey has said that her state would not cooperate with President-elect Trump’s federal immigration enforcement efforts once he returns to the Oval Office in January.

The 61st anniversary of JFK’s assassination

More than six decades on from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, questions remain as to what truly occurred.

On Nov. 22, 1963, Kennedy was shot in the back and head while traveling in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in Dallas.

He was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital and Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for first murdering police officer J.D. Tippit and later Kennedy.

However, several other theories suggest Oswald was a “patsy” or fall guy for the assassination. A full 61 years since the shooting, those theories persist, and some withheld documents from the government fuel speculation that the public does not know everything it should about the death of 35th president of the United States.

A moment’s silence will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Dealey Plaza, while the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza held a two-night event “examining the traumatic impact of the assassination.”

President-elect Donald Trump said during his election campaign that should he return to the White House he would release all the remaining documents related to the assassination….

Afederal judge in Washington on Friday reduced the prison sentence of a Proud Boy member for his role in the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill by one year, despite the man’s behavior during his sentencing.

Marc Bru, who was one of over 1,500 protesters charged with crimes stemming from the riot, publicly berated Chief Judge James Boasberg during his sentencing in January. Bru called Boasberg a “clown” and a “fraud” and said he was presiding over a “kangaroo court,” at the time.

Boasberg resentenced Bru to five years in prison on Friday, after removing an obstruction charge due to a Supreme Court ruling that limited who could be charged with the crime, per the Associated Press. Bru has served 15 months of the sentence so far.

The judge admitted that Bru was not one of the most violent protesters, but claimed his behavior afterward was “the worst I think I’ve seen of anyone.” Bru did not lob more insults at the judge during his resentencing.

The conflict is ”entering a decisive phase,” Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Friday, and ”taking on very dramatic dimensions.”

Ukraine’s parliament canceled a session as security was tightened following Thursday’s Russian strike on a military facility in the city of Dnipro.

In a stark warning to the West, President Vladimir Putin said in a nationally televised speech that the attack with the intermediate-range Oreshnik missile was in retaliation for Kyiv’s use of U.S. and British longer-range missiles capable of striking deeper into Russian territory.

Putin said Western air defense systems would be powerless to stop the new missile.

Ukrainian military officials said the missile that hit Dnipro had reached a speed of Mach 11 and carried six nonnuclear warheads each releasing six submunitions.

Speaking Friday to military and weapons industries officials, Putin said Russia is launching production of the Oreshnik.

Putin said that while it isn’t an intercontinental missile, it’s so powerful that the use of several of them fitted with conventional warheads in one attack could be as devastating as a strike with strategic — or nuclear — weapons….

A federal jury convicted two men on all counts for their roles in a human smuggling network that arranged the passage of a family of four migrants who ultimately froze to death as they got lost in a blizzard trying to illegally cross from Canada into America.

Harshkumar Patel and Steve Shand were found guilty of conspiracy to bring noncitizens to the United States, causing serious bodily injury and placing lives in jeopardy; conspiracy to transport aliens causing serious bodily injury and placing lives in jeopardy; attempted transportation of aliens in the U.S. for purposes of commercial advantage and private financial gain; and aiding and abetting the attempted transportation of aliens in America for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain.

The jury took a little more than an hour to deliver the verdict on Friday after hearing more than three days of evidence at the trial.

Prosecutors argued the defendants put profit over human lives the night of January 19, 2022, when Patel paid Shand to drive to northern Minnesota to pick up a group of 11 migrants from India who would be walking over from the Manitoba side. But as temperatures dropped below minus 33 degrees and a blizzard raged, a family died in the snow: Jagdish Patel, 39; his wife Vaishaliben, 37; Vihangi, 11; and Dharmik, 3.

That morning authorities stopped Shand in a van near the border and discovered two migrants inside; soon they came across five more stumbling in from the fields, one with severe frostbite…

After a decade away, USS George Washington returns to Japan in homeport shift

Hundreds of sailors stood in dress blues as the aircraft carrier USS George Washington pulled into Tokyo Bay on Friday morning for the first time in nearly a decade.

Scores of onlookers were joined by mascots and vendors while the U.S. 7th Fleet Band, high school cheerleaders and traditional Japanese musicians welcomed the ship’s return to the place it called home from 2008 to 2015.

While many of the carrier’s approximately 3,000 sailors are new to Japan, others, including its skipper, Capt. Timothy Waits, served aboard the George Washington during its previous deployment to Japan.

Many of the returning sailors specifically requested the assignment, Waits said at a pierside news conference. “I think that serves as a testament to the people and the culture of Japan, as well as the strong relationship between our two nations,” he said.

“[The ship’s] arrival here today clearly illustrates America’s steadfast commitment to the U.S.-Japan alliance and our collective security and deterrence in the Indo-Pacific region,” she said at the news conference.

The George Washington arrived less than a week after its aviation component, Carrier Air Wing 5, returned to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in southwestern Japan. The wing, which departed with the USS Ronald Reagan in May, returned with several changes to its roster.

“China knows what this USS George Washington can do today, because these are superior aircraft than they were nine years ago,” he told reporters Friday. “America’s deterrence and credibility are seen, heard and believed.”..

The U.S. Army’s 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment is no stranger to the High North, but this time its soldiers brought an attention-getting newcomer with them.

The M270A2 Multiple Launch Rocket System made its debut in the field over the past couple of weeks during Dynamic Front, NATO’s largest artillery exercise, and the 41st Field Artillery Brigade soldiers in Finland are having some fun with the opportunity.

The brigade trained in Norway earlier this year and Finland in May 2023. It’s becoming a regular visitor to the Arctic, with another exercise in Norway scheduled for February.

The U.S. has been training with 27 other nations during the 20-day exercise. Finland shares an 830-mile-long border with Russia, whose full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 prompted the Finnish government to end decades of official neutrality and seek NATO membership…

Guard at US Embassy in Norway Arrested on Suspicion of Spying for Russia and Iran

(Alex Brandon/AP)

The accused had been working as a security guard at the US embassy in Oslo, and is said to have admitted to collecting and sharing information.

A Norwegian student in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia and Iran while working as a guard at the US Embassy in Oslo, authorities in Norway have said.

The arrest warrant from the district court, says, among other things, that the police found records of the man’s assignment dialogue with a person who was apparently guiding his espionage activity, according to NRK, which reported that the man has admitted to collecting and sharing information with Russian and Iranian authorities.

It was revealed on Friday that the man is studying for a bachelor’s degree in security and preparedness at Norway’s Arctic University, UiT. NRK reports it is the second such case at the university in recent years.

One of the people the West swapped with Russia in a major prisoner exchange in August was a UiT guest researcher who had claimed to be Brazilian and went by the name José Assis Giammaria before being charged with espionage in 2022. The police revealed him to be a Russian named Mikhail Valeryevich Mikushin.

Norway shares a 198-kilometre border with Russia, and since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, it has heavily restricted entry for Russian nationals…

Venezuelan Illegal ‘Connected To Tren De Aragua’ Arrested After Robbing Alvin Bragg Prosecutor, Displaying Lewd Act

According to police sources who spoke to the press on Wednesday, a Venezuelan illegal immigrant connected to the violent gang Tren de Aragua was detained after robbing one of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecutors in her apartment building after she caught him sexually “relieving” himself.

Surfacing reports announced that 25-year-old Brandon Simosa, who is said to be connected to the ruthless Venezuelan gang, was apprehended on Tuesday night outside the Row NYC Hotel migrant shelter in Midtown Manhattan.

When the 38-year-old assistant district attorney came home to her 44th Street apartment at around two in the morning on Sunday, that’s when he robbed her. She reportedly caught him in the middle of the obscene sexual act in the corridor of the building.

Simosa, who is also known as Brandon Jesus Simoza Seijas, also allegedly stole the prosecutor’s phone when she dropped it, running off with it. Sources noted that the phone was later located near the migrant shelter.

Simosa, who now faces numerous charges, including grand larceny, sexually motivated robbery, and illegal possession of stolen property, was seen smiling as police dragged him away in handcuffs before his scheduled arraignment on Wednesday….

French father sentenced for raping his teen daughter for years and offering her up to strangers

A court in southeast France on Friday sentenced to 20 years in jail a man who for years raped his teenage daughter and offered her up to strangers for sex. The case echoed the ongoing high-profile trial that has shocked the nation in which 51 men are accused of raping Gisele Pelicot, drugged by her husband so he could invite strangers to their home to abuse her.

The 38-year-old father was convicted by the court in the southeast Var region of forcing sexual acts on his daughter from the age of 13.

Prosecutor Estelle Bois described how the father exercised total control over the young girl, his adoptive daughter. He also brought her to other men, many of them much older, who he contacted through online classified ads.

The father claimed to the other men that he and his daughter were both consenting adults living out a sexual fantasy. But he was convicted and sentenced to the maximum 20 years in prison, in line with the demands of the prosecutors.

Also like Dominique Pelicot, the father in Friday’s case directed, participated in and filmed the sex acts involving his daughter, who was blindfolded during the encounters.

He admitted to the accusations, but claimed in court that he had a loving relationship with the young girl and had responded to her initiating sexual contact….
