US Navy’s Silent Service makes a statement in Brisbane

The U.S. Navy’s elite “Silent Service” turned heads in Brisbane, Australia, on Sunday, July 27, when the Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Ohio surfaced for a scheduled port visit. This marked the first time a submarine of its class entered Brisbane’s waters, prompting the Navy to call it “historic.”

The visit coincides with the upcoming 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific Day, commemorating the end of World War II’s Pacific theater, and reflects the deep, enduring naval ties between the United States and Australia.

Brisbane once served as a major hub for U.S. submarines during the Second World War, hosting over 70 submarines and multiple submarine tenders. Now, eight decades later, the port is once again playing a key role in supporting undersea operations. This time, it’s in the context of growing tensions in the Indo-Pacific.

The USS Ohio isn’t alone along Australia’s east coast. It was joined by the submarine tender USS Frank Cable, which docked a day earlier. Submarine tenders such as Frank Cable make things like forward-deployed maintenance and resupply for submarines possible, increasing the Navy’s operational reach without needing to return to a homeport.

Normally, the Navy stays quiet about the movements of its guided-missile submarines (SSGNs) — and for good reason. There are only four of these converted Ohio-class subs in existence. Publicly announcing the port visit was a calculated move, one likely meant to project strength and reassure allies.

The Navy says the visit will include tours for local leaders and distinguished guests, along with volunteer engagements by sailors from both vessels. But the real message lies beneath the surface: in the capability and presence of a submarine built to deliver quiet, powerful and precise force from beneath the waves….

Alzheimer’s breakthrough as ‘game-changing’ drug shown to ‘suck plaque out of the brain’ within weeks

GETTY/ Scientists hope the drug will halt the progression of the disease

A groundbreaking Alzheimer’s medication has demonstrated a remarkable ability to eliminate brain plaques in fewer than 28 weeks while causing minimal adverse reactions.

The experimental treatment, known as trontinemab, achieved amyloid clearance in 90 per cent of trial participants within this timeframe, according to findings unveiled at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Toronto.

The medication’s exceptional safety record and reduced need for monitoring could make it the first dementia treatment to receive NHS funding, specialists suggest.

Phase three trials involving 1,600 participants are set to commence, with researchers also investigating whether the medication might prevent dementia in symptom-free individuals.

The medication outperforms current licensed treatments significantly, achieving results in under seven months that existing drugs require 18 months to accomplish.

Current medications lecanemab and donanemab reduce cognitive decline by 27 per cent and 35 per cent respectively over 18 months, but require intensive monitoring due to risks of brain swelling and bleeding.

Trontinemab’s phase two trial involving 149 participants revealed fewer than five per cent experienced amyloid-related imaging abnormalities, with all cases resolving quickly.

The drug’s engineering enables it to cross the blood-brain barrier more effectively, delivering potent targeted effects at lower doses than existing treatments….

UCLA to pay $6.13M to resolve campus antisemitism lawsuit, $2.33M of that to Jewish charities

The University of California Los Angeles agreed to pay $6.13 million to resolve an antisemitism facilitation lawsuit by students and a professor, a “stunning about-face” for the publicly funded university, “believed to be the largest private settlement in campus antisemitism cases,” according to the plaintiffs’ lawyers at religious liberty law firm Becket.

It referred to a settlement that’s not posted in the court docket for the monetary figure, which is not listed in the public consent judgment and permanent injunction approved by U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi that closes the case. Becket told Just the News the settlement doesn’t need to be docketed.

It provided the 22-page settlement upon request, and Just the News made a searchable version. The UCLA-hosted version, which the university does not appear to have publicized, cannot be searched.

The four plaintiffs are each getting $50,000, their lawyers $3.6 million for fees and costs, and $2.33 million to be split by several Jewish charities and organizations: Hillel at UCLA, Academic Engagement Network, Anti-Defamation League, Jewish Federation Los Angeles—Campus Impact Network, Chabad of UCLA, The Film Collaborative, Inc. “for the purpose of producing the short film Lost Alone,” Jewish Graduate Organization and Orthodox Union—Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus.

UCLA also agreed to pay itself $320,000 “dedicated solely to supporting the UCLA Initiative to Combat Antisemitism.”…

WATCH: COVID Doctors Blast Vaccine Mandates, Censorship in Front of Supreme Court

Olivia Rondeau/Breitbart News

The demonstration fell on the fifth anniversary of the 2020 “White Coat Summit,” where Immanuel and her colleagues went mega-viral as she claimed that hydroxychloroquine worked to save 350 COVID-19 patients at her Houston practice, Breitbart News reported.

The original event garnered millions of views as it was streamed by Breitbart News, but Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook censored and restricted the video.

Speaking to a crowd gathered outside SCOTUS, Immanuel recognized the five-year mark “of when we stood here to tell the world that COVID is treatable, and we don’t have to die.”

The Cameroonian-born doctor has since treated over 100,000 COVID patients with her team.

“After my team and I have treated 100,000 patients, today I can categorically say, not just anecdotally, that with my vast experience, that COVID was, and is still treatable, and we didn’t need to die,” Immanuel asserted.

On her X page, she noted that less than 15 patients died after they came “too late” to be helped, and touted a MedPage article that called her the “highest prescriber” of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin in the U.S….

Lara Logan Blasts COVID Mandates, Big Pharma: ‘I Regret Vaccinating My Children’

Logan joined several physicians, including the outspoken anti-vaccine-mandate Drs. Stella Immanuel, Simone Gold, and Mary Talley Bowden, in the event to spread awareness about the adverse effects:

“I am very grateful for all the doctors and the people behind me because they stood up when it cost the most,” the former CBS 60 Minutes foreign correspondent began.

The South African reporter went on to say, “I think I can safely speak on behalf of every person in the United States of America and across the world when I say we want our doctors to practice medicine and not politics. We want our journalists to report the truth — Be journalists, not activists and not propagandists.”

“We, the people, we’ve had enough,” Logan continued, before denouncing harmful chemicals and “so-called vaccines.”

“We don’t need them. I regret vaccinating my children. I regret it … today, I wouldn’t do it,” she added, before promoting Immanuel, who claimed to have treated 100,000 COVID patients with hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin:

Putting Big Pharma on blast, Logan brought up the “pediatric pharmaceuticals and the amphetamines that they’re feeding our children.”

“There’s a reason all those skinny white kids end up in Antifa, hooked on drugs. There’s a reason, and it starts when they’re five, six, seven years old.”

According to Dr. Bowden, “at least one-in-800 suffer a serious adverse event” from the COVID vaccinations…

Officials in the central city of Birmingham said Tuesday they have worked with his family to draw up the details of Osbourne’s last goodbye, before a private funeral service.

“Ozzy was more than a music legend – he was a son of Birmingham,” Zafar Iqbal, the lord mayor of the central English city, said in a statement.

“It was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral,” he said…

Birmingham city council said Osbourne’s funeral cortege would pass slowly through the city from 1:00 pm (1200 GMT) down Broad Street to Black Sabbath bridge.

The hearse and vehicles will be accompanied by a live brass band performance by local musicians from Bostin’ Brass.

“We know how much this moment will mean to his fans. We’re proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began,” Iqbal said.

Thousands of fans have left heartfelt messages and floral tributes at the bridge in recent days, mourning the death of the musician who was instrumental in pioneering heavy metal, an offshoot of hard rock.

Iqbal said the Osbourne family “have kindly funded all of the associated costs” of the funeral…

In late May, tech billionaire Elon Musk said he was leaving the federal government, citing the end of his 130-day mandate as a special government employee under the Trump administration….
