China Exploiting US-Funded Research To Boost Nuclear Tech, Report Reveals

The report — produced by the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in conjunction with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence — found that Beijing exploited partnerships between Chinese researchers and American scientists funded by the Department of Energy (DOE).

Lawmakers warn these collaborations have given China access to sensitive technologies with direct applications for nuclear weapons, advanced defense systems and other areas critical to national security.

Specifically, the researchers found that between June 2023 and June 2025, more than 4,300 academic papers involved collaborations between DOE-funded researchers and Chinese scientists. Roughly half of those papers included Chinese contributors affiliated with China’s military or defense-linked industrial base.

“This investigation reveals a deeply alarming problem: The Department of Energy failed to ensure the security of its research and it put American taxpayers on the hook for funding the military rise of our nation’s foremost adversary,” Rep. John Moolenaar of Michigan, who chairs the committee, said in a statement. “The department must stop providing funding to grantees who allow this exploitation and protect hard-earned taxpayer dollars.”

The DOE oversees some of the most sensitive research in the U.S., including work related to nuclear energy, nuclear weapons development and disposal, and quantum computing.

The report identified at least 24 publications produced between June 2023 and June 2025 that acknowledged DOE funding and were conducted in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics, China’s primary nuclear weapons research and development complex….

Eric Swalwell Skips More House Votes Than Any Active Member of Congress, Analysis Finds

Democratic California Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Eric Swalwell skipped more House votes than any active member of Congress, according to voting record data analyzed by the New York Post.

Swalwell has been under media scrutiny following the launch of a federal investigation into alleged mortgage and tax fraud and his California governor bid’s announcement just one week later. Since launching his campaign, Swalwell has reportedly been rarely seen in Washington, D.C., according to the Sacramento Bee.

Voting records collected by the nonpartisan website GovTrack show that of the 342 House roll call votes in 2025, Swalwell has missed 95 since January, not including absences from committee hearings.

By comparison, Swalwell missed more votes than fellow California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who suffered a hip injury after a fall in December 2024.

The 85-year-old lawmaker underwent hip surgery, which typically requires roughly six months of recovery. However, GovTrack data show Pelosi has missed only 46 of the 342 House roll call votes in 2025.

Swalwell did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Data from GovTrack shows that Swalwell has missed 50 of the 61 roll call votes, which is 82% between Sept. 19 through Tuesday, last voting on Nov. 18….

Barrio Azteca leader ‘Tablas’ pleads guilty to US Consulate murders in Juarez

A reputed leader of the Barrio Azteca gang has pleaded guilty to murder and other charges related to the shooting death of a pregnant U.S. Consulate employee and two others in 2010 in Juarez, Mexico.

Leslie Ann Enriquez Catton and her husband, Arthur Redelfs, had left a birthday party and were in their car with their 7-month-old daughter when they were gunned down on March 13, 2010. The child was unharmed.

In a separate attack, gunmen killed Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, the husband of another U.S. Consulate employee in Juarez.

On Wednesday, in a federal courtroom in El Paso, Eduardo Ravelo, aka “Tablas,” pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy (RICO), conspiracy to distribute and import drugs, money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country, and murder in aid of racketeering.

Prosecutors say the 56-year-old Ravelo was the leader of the Barrio Azteca gang in Mexico beginning around 2004. As a captain in Juarez, he reportedly directed and controlled the gang’s drug trafficking activities and was responsible for multiple “hit” or “sicario” squads.

On the day of the “U.S. Consulate murders,” Ravelo monitored radio communications and directed the Barrio Azteca members who targeted Salcido, Enriquez and Redelfs, an El Paso County detention officer.

Enriquez was four months pregnant; her unborn child was also killed…..

Putin Threatens Continued Armed Force Against Ukraine if Demands Are Not Met Through Negotiations

Latest Developments

  • ‘Little Pigs’: Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to continue using force to achieve Moscow’s objectives in Ukraine if its demands are not granted through negotiations. “We would prefer to … address the root causes of the conflict through diplomacy,” Putin said on December 17. “If the opposing side and their foreign patrons refuse to engage in substantive discussions, Russia will achieve the liberation of its historical lands by military means,” he added, warning that in such a scenario, “the task of creating and expanding a security buffer zone will also be consistently addressed. Putin also lashed out at Ukraine’s European allies, calling them “little pigs” who hoped to “profit from the collapse of our country.”
  • ‘Destructive’ Elements Removed From Plan: Putin’s comments came after Ukrainian and U.S. officials on Monday concluded their latest set of meetings on the U.S.-proposed peace plan, focused in part on security guarantees for Ukraine. “I think we’re closer now than we have been, ever, and we’ll see what we can do,” President Donald Trump told reporters after speaking by telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders. Zelenskyy, who met with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump advisor Jared Kushner, stated that elements of the original plan that would have been “destructive” for Ukraine “are no longer present in the new versions of the documents.” Zelenskyy added, however, that differences on territory remain unresolved, as Washington continues to press Kyiv to cede land demanded by Moscow.
  • Satellite Images Reveal Damage to Russian Port: Satellite imagery released by the Colorado-based company Vantor revealed damage to the Russian Black Sea naval port of Novorossiysk. The damage was reportedly caused by a Ukrainian-made Sub Sea Baby uncrewed underwater vehicle, which targeted the port during the night of December 15-16. The Security Service of Ukraine released a video of the attack and claimed that a Russian Kilo-class submarine “suffered critical damage,” a claim denied by Russian officials.

Public library board voted to keep pro-transgender book — so the county dissolved the entire board

The North Carolina Values Coalition had previously described the picture book as an attempt to “groom children towards transgenderism at very young ages” and actively opposed its inclusion.

The group applauded the decision to dissolve the board.

“‘Call Me Max,’ recommended for 5- [to] 9-year-olds, teaches children that their parents may be wrong about their gender and that their gender is actually whatever they feel it is,” read the statement from their spokesperson to Blaze News.

“Planting this lie in a child’s mind at a young age can lead them down a harmful path of social and medical transitioning,” the statement continued. “Public libraries should never expose children to books that cause them to question their gender or include other inappropriate sexual content.”

The author of the book, a transgender-identifying individual named Kyle Lukoff, said that the actions of the county board were alarming…..

Trans-identifying radicals among those arrested in alleged planned New Year’s Eve terror plot

Authorities uncovered posters associated with the TILF that included threatening language, including “Death to America” and “Death to ICE.”

“This case is another reminder about the dangers that radicalized Antifa-like groups pose to public safety and the rule of law,” Essayli said.

One of the four, 32-year-old Zachary Page, reportedly identifies as transgender and requested that authorities send him to a women’s jail, the New York Post reported.

Agents with the FBI’s New Orleans field office arrested a fifth individual tied to the TILF who was allegedly planning a separate attack in Louisiana.

An unsealed criminal complaint revealed that the suspect, 29-year-old Micah James Legnon, is a Marine veteran who claims to identify as transgender, the Post reported….

Wild West Germany: Syrian migrant pulls out AK-47 rifle after being rejected from Leipzig nightclub

Fights with bouncers are not totally uncommon, but most people who are rejected from a club simply head home disappointed. However, one Syrian migrant in the German city of Leipzig appeared to have an entirely different reaction, pulling out a Kalashnikov rifle before being tackled to the ground by security.

This disturbing scene played out on Sunday at 2:00 a.m. in front of a trendy club in Leipzig, known as “N 39” on Königshauspassage. The 27-year-old migrant, Bashar A., was rejected from the club, which was at its full capacity with 600 people. However, he did not accept this, and returned to the scene minutes later to insist he be let in.

Once again, he was denied by bouncers. As seen on surveillance, he then moves away from the entrance, where he pulls an AK-47 rifle out of a bag before security tackles him to the ground.

The bouncers moved quickly though, knocking the man to the ground while he was allegedly trying to place a magazine inside the rifle. The security guards then disarmed the man and held him down.

The Syrian man, who has many offenses on his criminal record, was arrested and taken to the police precinct….

Four Republicans buck Mike Johnson to join Hakeem Jeffries’ Obamacare push

Four moderate House Republicans are rebelling against Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to join his Democratic counterpart in forcing a vote on enhanced Obamacare subsidies set to expire at the end of this year.

Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., Ryan Mackenzie, R-Pa., Rob Bresnahan, R-Pa., and Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., all joined a discharge petition by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., on his push for a three-year extension of the subsidies.

A discharge petition is a mechanism for overriding the will of House leaders to get a chamber-wide vote on specific legislation, provided it has support from a majority of lawmakers.

In this case, the four House Republicans’ signatures put Jeffries’ petition at 218 — clinching the critical majority threshold…..
