15-year-old killed while protecting his mother from illegal immigrant trying to rape her: police

An illegal immigrant has been charged with murder after allegedly killing a 15-year-old boy who tried to protect his mother from being raped by the suspect in Kentucky, according to authorities.
Gildardo Amandor-Martinez, 36, was arrested by the Morehead Police Department and was booked on charges of murdering 15-year-old Luis Lopez, attempting to rape Lopez’s mother, Aleida Lopez, and assaulting the teen’s 3-year-old sister, Naomi Agrical Nunez.
Police said that authorities were called at 4:18 am to an apartment where the 15-year-old was found dead. The 3-year-old girl was also shot and was taken to St. Claire Regional Medical Center, per Fox 56. The shooting occurred at around 2:30 am on July 20.
The following Sunday, police interviewed Agrical Nunez as well as Aleida Lopez. It was determined that the mother had been in a relationship with the suspect, and was sleeping in her room with their 1-year-old son when the incident took place.
Amandor-Martinez arrived at the apartment and wanted to have sex with Aleida Lopez. When she refused, police said that the suspect bit her on her left hand as well as above her breast.
When she screamed, Luis entered the room, telling the suspect to stop. He then asked his mother if she wanted him to call the police. The mother said no, and Luis shut the door. Martinez then got dressed and Lopez said Martinez said he was taking their son.
Lopez told officers that when the suspect started to depart, he pulled out a gun and fired several rounds through the door her teenage son had just gone through. Lopez then grabbed her 1-year-old son and ran out, but realizing that her 3-year-old was inside, ran back in and told her to run.
“Fifteen-year-old Luis Lopez died trying to save his mother from this criminal illegal alien who was attempting to rape her,” DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
“Gildardo Amandor-Martinez is a rapist and cold-blooded killer who should have never been in this country. The Biden administration’s open-border policies allowed this monster to walk American streets and commit these evil crimes, including murder, assault, and attempted rape, against a mother and her children. ICE has placed an arrest detainer to ensure Amandor-Martinez will not be released onto America’s streets and allowed to terrorize American families again.”
Homeland Security task forces expand efforts targeting transnational crime

New Homeland Security Task Forces (HSTF) are launching nationwide to expand efforts to target transnational crime. A new HSTF launched in Houston this month, one month after a HSTF launched in the Midwest.
Although federal law enforcement partners have been targeting transnational crime for years, President Donald Trump directed the departments of Homeland Security and Justice to establish HSTFs to conduct targeted enforcement efforts in a Jan. 29 executive order.
The HSTFs are regional and led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations field offices and FBI field offices. Participating agencies include the DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals Service, IRS’ Criminal Investigative Division, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area directors, U.S. attorneys and others.
They are operating under Trump’s order, “Protecting the American People Against Invasion,” which directed the DHS and DOJ to create HSTFs to “end the presence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and transnational criminal organizations throughout the United States, dismantle cross-border human smuggling and trafficking networks, end the scourge of human smuggling and trafficking, with a particular focus on such offenses involving children, and ensure the use of all available law enforcement tools to faithfully execute the immigration laws of the United States.”
Task force members are conducting “intelligence-driven, multijurisdictional investigations targeting drug trafficking, money laundering, weapons trafficking, human trafficking, alien smuggling, homicide, extortion, kidnapping, child exploitation and other transnational crimes,” HSTF announcements state.
The Houston HSTF is being led by ICE HSI-Houston and FBI-Houston targeting all of southeast Texas.
Hoaxes about ICE ‘disappearing’ illegals are widespread, as disinformation seeps into the news

After another instance of misinformation or flat-out falsehoods regarding an illegal alien surfaced from The Morning Call, a disturbing pattern has emerged that misleads Americans and causes undue fear for immigrants, both legal and illegal, across the country.
The article last week reported falsely that Luis Leon, an 82-year-old Chilean national living in Allentown, Pennsylvania, “disappeared” after visiting a Philadelphia immigration office in June to replace his lost green card, where he was allegedly handcuffed and taken away without explanation, officials said.
His family claimed that they were unable to locate him through immigration officials or Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) detainee database, and was falsely informed of his death, only to later learn he was in fact detained in Minnesota and then transferred to a hospital in Guatemala.
Discrepancies emerged when the Guatemalan Institute of Migration denied receiving anyone matching Leon’s details, and a Chilean reporter, José María del Pino, claimed the real Luis Leon died in Chile in 2019, with the circulating photo belonging to another person altogether.
The Leon family’s narrative, amplified by left-leaning outlets like The Guardian and Daily Beast, included claims of a mysterious caller falsely reporting Leon’s death in ICE custody, but the family stopped communicating with the media after scrutiny.
In another hoax, Yuriana Julia “Juli” Pelaez Calderon, a 41-year-old illegal immigrant, was charged with conspiracy and making false statements for orchestrating a fake kidnapping by supposed ICE agents to scam donations and discredit federal law enforcement.
On June 30, her family and attorneys claimed she was ambushed at a Los Angeles Jack in the Box, taken to San Ysidro, and pressured to self-deport, sparking a GoFundMe campaign that raised $80 before being shut down. The family and their attorneys held press conferences, where their claims were eagerly repeated by local media…
“This is the END of California — Victor Davis Hanson Explains Why”
“This is the END of California — Victor Davis Hanson Explains Why” In this video, Hanson dissects how progressive policies have led to California’s decline, from rising crime and homelessness to unchecked bureaucratic overreach.
He argues that Gavin Newsom embodies the contradictions of the modern left—promoting equity while presiding over growing inequality, and pushing climate agendas while benefiting from elite privilege.
Hanson illustrates how California, once a symbol of American opportunity, has become a cautionary tale under one-party rule.
Ultimately, he contends that the state’s dysfunction reveals the dangerous consequences of ideology-driven leadership disconnected from everyday reality. Victor Davis Hanson exposes the left’s hypocrisy in their governance of California and their support for Gavin Newsom.

Trump issues EO to bring back ‘insane asylums’…

In a major move aimed at restoring law, order, and basic sanity and hygiene, President Trump is taking direct action to reopen mental health institutions and end the open-air drug chaos that’s turned once-thriving cities into poop-filled war zones.
For the millions of Americans trapped in these collapsing blue-run hellscapes, where small, medium, and large businesses are fleeing, violent crime is soaring, and the mentally ill wander the streets untreated, this is more than just an EO. It’s relief.
The latest big business to wave the white flag and flee California, home to some of the most inhospitable cities in the country, is In-N-Out Burger.
They now join a growing list of major companies that refuse to pay sky-high taxes just to operate in a crime-riddled cesspool.
And this is exactly why President Trump’s new executive order is coming at the perfect time.
This new EO will basically override the disastrous laws from the 1960s that led to the closure of mental institutions and will finally allow states to “involuntarily” reinstitutionalize individuals who are clearly a danger to themselves or others. In a nutshell: we’re bringing back common sense and giving communities the legal tools they need to clean up the streets and get people real help.
For decades, soft-on-crime Democrats and radical decarceration activists have treated mental illness and drug addiction like some kind of civil rights issue instead of a public safety emergency.
The result of this thinking and policy making has been pure chaos. From San Francisco to Philly, streets have turned into open-air asylums and overdose alleys, while law-abiding citizens suffer in silence….

Massachusetts Attorney General travels world on taxpayers’ dime: ‘Expensive junkets’

Massachusetts AG Andrea Campbell spent nearly $300,000 on her taxpayer-funded credit card last fiscal year, with expenses ranging from traveling to France and a balmy Caribbean island to hosting an annual holiday party, a Herald analysis shows.
Campbell traveled to France last July to attend a conference alongside counterparts from across the nation, with the Bay State attorney general racking up about $13,627 on state-issued procurement cards during the trip.
The expenses — flights, transportation, and hotel charges — are among the largest that Campbell incurred between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Her office’s total spending with P-cards, or procurement cards, cost taxpayers some $288,146.26 last fiscal year, according to the Herald’s review.
Campbell spent just under $9,000 on transportation during the trip to France, through Avis Chauffeur, which “offers a range of high-quality chauffeur-driven services … catering to both individuals and groups.”
The AG’s office told the Herald that Campbell traveled with a Massachusetts State Police trooper and one of her staff members to the conference and related events in Paris and Normandy, hosted by the National Association of Attorneys General and the Attorney General Alliance.
The AG’s office also noted that a $2,060.29 Delta Air expense on June 28, 2024, in Brussels was related to the trip, but no charges were made in the Belgian city….

Alabama Sheriff: Arrests Continue in Horrific Child Sex Trafficking Ring — Possible Ties to Sureños Gang

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office now has seven suspects in custody after finding children being held captive, drugged, and sexually abused in a storm shelter in Brent, Alabama. Assistant District Attorney Bryan Jones told Breitbart Texas they expect additional charges to be filed.
“I’ve been in law enforcement for 33 years, and this is absolutely the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen when it comes to the victimization of children,” Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade told reporters at a press conference. “Like I say, I know God’s forgiveness is boundless. But if there was a limit to it, I think we reached it.”
Breitbart Texas reported on Wednesday that police arrested four suspects in the child sex trafficking case.
Since that time, investigators arrested three more suspects. According to CBS42.com, those suspects are: William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, Andres Trejo-Velazquez, Timothy St. John, Rebecca Brewer, Ricky Terrell, and Sara Terrell.
Sheriff Wade told reporters that he believes the case could be tied to the Sureños gang. He said the game is funded chiefly through child sex trafficking.
One of the suspects, Timothy St. John, is also facing charges of bestiality and aggravated cruelty to animals.
“No child deserves this,” Wade said. “That’s the most horrible thing you can do. The power and control of it, the stealing the innocence of a child and the horrible victimizations they went through with these monsters.”
The angered sheriff continued, saying, “It’s like the old saying, ‘if you see something, say something.’ If you do think or suspect that there are children being victimized, contact us or your local law enforcement and make them aware. If it’s nothing to it, we’ll be glad to say it’s not. But if there’s something to it, God help us to protect these children.”
Sheriff Wade said they believe the child sex traffickers made as much as $1,000 per night while victimizing the children. The children reportedly ranged in age from 10 to 15 years….
Oregon can’t force Christian woman to embrace LGBT ideology in order to adopt: 9th Circuit

Oregon officials cannot prevent a conservative Christian mother from adopting solely because she objects to LGBT ideology, a federal appeals court panel has ruled.
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 on Thursday that Jessica Bates was wrongfully denied an adoption application by the Oregon Department of Human Services, reversing a lower court decision.
Circuit Judge Daniel A. Bress, a Trump appointee, authored the majority opinion, writing that Oregon was wrong to require adoptive parents to agree to “respect, accept, and support” the self-identified gender identity and sexual orientation of a child.
“We hold that Oregon’s policy violates the First Amendment as applied to Bates. We reverse the district court’s denial of preliminary injunctive relief and direct that a preliminary injunction be entered,” wrote Bress.
Bress said that adoption is “not a constitutional law dead zone” and that “a state’s general conception of the child’s best interest does not create a force field against the valid operation of other constitutional rights.”
“Oregon’s rule, as reflected in the [Resource and Adoptive Families Training] materials, quite clearly restricts and compels speech based on both content and viewpoint,” he continued.
“The situation would be no different if the state had restricted parental speech favoring more ‘progressive’ views of sexuality and gender identity, while compelling speech along the lines of Bates’s more traditional understanding.”…

Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Forces 5 Planned Parenthood Clinics to Close in NorCal

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday:
President Donald Trump’s budget cuts to Medicaid have forced Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to shutter five clinics across Northern California and the Central Coast, including one in South San Francisco, the group said Thursday.
The GOP-led federal spending bill that Trump signed into law earlier this month eliminated federal Medicaid funding for any type of medical care to organizations that perform abortions.
…
The closures represent the first wave of how the recent federal budget cuts will have real-life consequences for health clinics across the country — particularly for low-income Americans. They are also a crushing blow to a state that set it up to be an abortion haven after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. In the year after the decision, political leaders in California — led by Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Democratic-controlled Legislature — passed more than a dozen new laws and invested more than $200 million to increase access across the state. Thursday’s announcement drives home the extent of the federal government’s tremendous power to impact abortion access.
Federal funding has, until now, continued to flow to Planned Parenthood, despite the Hyde Amendment’s ban on federal funding of abortion, because of the other services Planned Parenthood says that is provides.
EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT CHINA’S ‘UNSINKABLE’ FUJIAN AIRCRAFT CARRIER

The world’s largest navy is about to get a serious upgrade — and it doesn’t mind showing it off. Over the past two decades, China has invested heavily in expanding its People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), a key strategy for cementing its position in the coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific.
Adding nearly 200 warships since 2000, the Chinese navy has grown from a geopolitical afterthought to a force capable of projecting global ambitions. One critical development is China’s expanding aircraft carrier fleet, which looks to add its third carrier, the 80,000-ton Fujian.
With reports of its construction first released in March 2017, the long-discussed Fujian is the PRC’s largest and most advanced carrier yet. Currently executing sea trials in the contested waters of the Yellow Sea, the ship is expected to be operational by the end of 2025 — a major step in the country’s regional and global ambitions.
Sporting China’s first electromagnetic aircraft launch system, deploying the Fujian will be a major boon for China’s aerial forces, greatly expanding the mission set of its J-15 and J-35 fighter jets.
It is also notable for how it compares with China’s previous two carriers, the Liaoning and Shandong. Larger and better equipped than either of its predecessors, the Fujian represents both a major leap in the Chinese Navy’s carrier fleet and an escalation of its global power projection capabilities, potentially extending its naval reach beyond the Indo-Pacific.
At an estimated 1,036 feet long and 80,000 tons, the Fujian is roughly 15,000 tons larger than its two predecessors. In fact, the steam turbine–powered colossus is the largest non-nuclear ship in the world, standing only behind America’s two nuclear-powered carriers in total tonnage.
With this size, the Fujian can likely carry up to 60 aircraft and is expected to launch fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, ranging from China’s infamous J-15 and J-35 fighters to the KJ-600 airborne early warning aircraft. This would be a major improvement over the PLAN’s Liaoning and Shandong carriers, which can only handle ramp-assisted short take-off aircraft….
