The embassy did not disclose any other information about the reported threats but warned U.S. citizens to avoid crowds and to be aware of their surroundings.

The embassy issued its warning hours after Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the Soviet-era KGB, said it thwarted an attack on a synagogue by an Islamic State cell, Reuters reports.

Though it’s unclear if the two statements are related, the FSB said the cell was planning on attacking “the congregants of a synagogue using firearms.”

David Bloch, the founding coach of Woodstock Union High School’s snowboarding team, filed a lawsuit in July 2023 following his termination for discussing the nature of transgender student athletes with two high school snowboarders.

The lawsuit was reportedly settled against the Vermont Agency of Education, the Vermont Principals’ Association, and the school district that agreed to pay him $75,000, which was 17 times more than his annual coaching salary.

A United States District Court judge denied Bloch’s reinstatement as a coach in December 2023, but Bloch filed a notice of appeal. He then agreed to drop the appeal request once he accepted the settlement.

Biden calls for business tax hikes to reduce budget deficit

WhiteHouse.gov

President Joe Biden proposed raising taxes on the nation’s job creators to help shrink the government’s ballooning budget deficit during his State of The Union address Thursday night.

While claiming to have cut the federal budget deficit by more than $1 trillion despite vastly increased spending under his administration, Biden said corporations and the wealthy should pay more to cut the deficit further.

“It’s my goal to cut the federal deficit another $3 trillion by making big corporations and the very wealthy finally beginning to pay their fair share,” he said.

Biden proposed raising the minimum corporate tax rate from 15% to 21%. Though unspoken in his Thursday night address, Biden also will propose a 33% increase in the overall corporate tax rate, increasing it from 21% to 28%, according to a White House media briefing held earlier Wednesday.

In addition, the president said billionaires should pay a minimum 25% personal income tax.

DOJ Fails to Turn Over Hur-Biden Transcript

The House Judiciary Committee is “evaluating next steps” after the Justice Department failed to turn over requested documents concerning special counsel Robert Hur’s probe of President Joe Biden, Newsmax has learned.

Hur is scheduled to testify before the committee March 12 following complaints by Republicans that the special counsel’s decision not to charge Biden with mishandling classified documents showed a two-tiered system of justice.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., in a Feb. 27 letter, subpoenaed Attorney General Merrick Garland for records, including transcripts, notes, video, and audio files, related to Hur’s investigation of Biden.

The Judiciary, Oversight, and the Ways and Means committees also are seeking classified documents referenced in the special counsel’s report which relate to then-Vice President Biden’s December 2015 phone call with the then-Ukrainian prime minister.

The problems in Indiana started when Medicaid spending projections for the current budget exceeded the original target by $1 billion. Call it a “forecasting error,” call it (as one Democrat lawmaker did) an “accounting error,” but $1 billion represents real money.

When the error was discovered in December, the state budget director said the cost overrun presaged difficult choices about rising Medicaid spending: “This amount of growth cannot continue, so there’s going to be some tough decisions ahead.”

Several weeks later, Alexander and Anastasia Davis found out who would bear the cost of those tough decisions — they would.

Democrats Deployed Their Top Election Riggers To Tip The Scales In 2024

JOE BIDEN/YOUTUBE

An open records inquiry by the Foundation for Government Accountability may prove the White House violated the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) by directly coordinating agency efforts with a vote-rigging scheme.

The Biden administration has tried to hide these efforts from the public, but internal emails obtained by FGA show Justin Levitt and others in the White House directed federal agencies to work with a vast network of far-left and Democrat activists to help ensure Biden’s reelection.

The coordination, which began almost immediately after Biden was sworn into office, included efforts to get ballots to individuals with “immigration and citizenship issues” as well as those “incarcerated in federal custody.”

FGM can include partial or total removal of the clitoris as well as the labia minora, and suturing of the vaginal opening to narrow it, in the incorrect belief the cut can control women’s sexuality and make them more likely to be obedient to religious and social restrictions.

The practice has been known to cause fatal bleeding or infections, and can also have long-term consequences such as fertility problems, childbirth complications, stillbirth and painful sexual intercourse, AFP reports.

“It is indeed bad news. This is a huge number, a number that is bigger than ever before,” said Claudia Coppa, lead author of the report released to coincide with International Women’s Day.

The AFP report sets out Africa is home to the most number of FGM cases with more than 144 million, ahead of Asia (80 million) and the Middle East (six million), according to the survey of 31 countries where the practice is common.
