‘I don’t want her’: Mom who beat teen daughter to death made it ‘very clear’ she wanted to ditch girl to be with boyfriend, cops say

Dr. Marcus DeGraw, a child abuse pediatrician, reportedly testified that Kylee suffered from blunt force trauma to the head that caused a massive brain bleed.
“She suffered a massive, significant intracranial injury that ultimately led to her death,” DeGraw reportedly said. “She had significant, direct blunt force trauma to the head … probably from multiple, direct blunt force blows … It would take a significant amount of force to cause these types of injuries.”
Prosecutors say Averhart no longer wanted to care for Kylee, who, in addition to autism, was also diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange syndrome, a genetic disorder that impedes development. Averhart allegedly wanted to ditch Kylee so she could be with her boyfriend.
A judge said there was enough evidence for Averhart to face trial.
As Law&Crime previously reported, Averhart gave multiple accounts of how her daughter sustained her injuries, none of which made much sense.
First, she claimed the girl choked on a sandwich, then on a banana. She also pointed the finger at her boyfriend, but he passed a lie detector test and was not around at the time of the incident, the Metro Detroit News reported.
Prosecutors reportedly said Kylee, who was nonverbal, lived in a locked room. Her mother allegedly told others that she “didn’t want this child anymore.” Child Protective Services had previously investigated Averhart on several occasions over concerns for Kylee’s safety, per MDN.
‘Euthanasia on a Huge Scale’: End-of-Life Drugs Drove Up COVID Fatalities Among Seniors

Palliative drugs normally reserved for the dying were widely administered to COVID-19 patients in U.K. long-term care homes and other settings in 2020.
That practice caused a large number of avoidable deaths and dramatically inflated the virus’s reported fatality rate, according to medical commentator John Campbell, Ph.D.
“This is a complete national outrage that is largely being ignored,” he said.
In an interview on political commentator Russell Brand’s “Stay Free” podcast, Campbell said the routine use of midazolam and morphine — drugs intended for end-of-life care — to treat COVID-19 patients created a lethal combination that suppressed breathing and oxygenation.
In terminal care, clinicians often escalate doses of opioids and sedatives to control pain and agitation. When used repeatedly, those drugs depress respiration, Campbell said.
During the pandemic, similar drug regimens were administered to COVID-19 patients who were not actually dying.
In April 2020, the U.K.’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence issued COVID-19 guidelines for managing symptoms, including at the end of life. The guidance recommended using midazolam and morphine together to treat breathlessness in adults during the final days or hours of life.
Senior care facilities broadly used those protocols, Campbell said. Doctors “were often writing up end-of-life drugs” for patients diagnosed with COVID-19….
$100,000 Reward Offered To Identify Dallas 18-Wheeler Driver In Fatal Plano Hit-And-Run

A Texas law firm is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and felony conviction of a hit-and-run driver whose 18-wheeler triggered a fatal crash that killed a Dallas father more than two months ago.
The Bison Law Firm announced the reward this week in an effort to identify the driver who fled after causing a four-vehicle collision on the northbound Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek Parkway on October 21.
Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety said a white 18-wheeler towing a white dump trailer made an unsafe lane change just before 6 a.m., striking a Honda Civic driven by 47-year-old Juan Quiroz.
The impact sent Quiroz’s vehicle into a concrete wall, where it rolled over. A Ram 1500 and a Toyota Camry then collided with the Honda.
Quiroz, who was heading to work, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other drivers were not seriously injured.
Authorities said the truck lacked visible company logos or a license plate, complicating efforts to identify it. It may have damage to the right side of the front bumper or the front right fender.
A limited image of the vehicle has been released and is now included on a wanted sign distributed by the law firm…..
Radical Muslim Organization’s California Chapter Rakes in Untold Millions in Tax Dollars

A Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) chapter under investigation for its financial activity says it received more than $7 million in taxpayer funds between 2022 and 2024. Research by watchdog groups suggests the true amount is much higher.
CAIR California documented the funds in the “government grants” section of its tax forms, but a November report by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCIR) and Intelligent Advocacy Network (IAN) found that it received at least $26 million in government grants across 2022 and 2023 alone and failed to properly report them, citing public documents they obtained.
IAN previously filed a complaint in March about the self-described Muslim civil rights group’s financial transparency issues and alleged ties to Hamas terrorists, prompting the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate its eligibility for immigration-related grants, the Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported. California’s Fair Political Practices Commission is also probing the chapter in response to another IAN complaint, a June letter from the agency shows.
The November study found that CAIR California obscured its lavish taxpayer funding in 2022 and 2023 by reporting much of it under “contributions and grants” instead of “government grants.” The chapter reported $7,063,797 in government grants in its 2024 filing — around 37% of its revenue that year — after marking down just $127,269 in 2023 and zero in 2022. The 2024 document with the higher amount was filed in November, months after IAN began publicly criticizing CAIR California’s financial activity.
“Whether what they have declared for 2024 is accurate remains to be seen,” George, the group’s CEO, told the DCNF…..
Chris Hansen says he constantly caught illegal immigrant sexual predators during stings
“Takedown” host Chris Hansen said in a resurfaced video that he consistently caught illegal immigrant sexual predators during sting operations throughout the United States.
Fox News originally posted the clip to Instagram on Feb. 12, but X user Wall Street Apes reshared it on Monday, where it garnered roughly 400,000 views as of Tuesday morning.
Hansen, who became famous for his “To Catch A Predator” series on NBC News’ “Dateline,” made the remarks just weeks after former President Joe Biden left office on Jan. 20, asserting that he had observed a surge in illegal immigrant predators caught during his stings regardless of location.
“We have seen an increase in illegal immigrants being caught in our stings across the country,” Hansen said. “And it seems today that we can’t do a sting whether we’re in the South or the Midwest or West Coast or East Coast without catching somebody who’s in this country illegally.”
Around 11 million border encounters occurred from February 2021 until December 2024 under Biden, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. The New York Times found in a December 2024 analysis that Biden oversaw the largest net migration in American history, with a majority of U.S.-bound migration occurring unlawfully.
Hansen also discussed his work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on “Jesse Watters Primetime” in October…..
Man, two teens charged after CTA bus beating leaves 62-year-old in coma

Larry Gilkey was riding a northbound bus in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue when he was attacked around 5:30 p.m. on December 16, according to Chicago police and his relatives.
A family member said Gilkey had gone out to buy cigarettes and one of the future attackers asked him for money so they could ride the bus. When Gilkey took out cash, another offender struck him, according to the relative.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a group assault that left Gilkey critically injured. He was placed in a medically induced coma and has since been brought out of it, but CPD said he faces a long recovery.
Chicago police say they have identified three people responsible for the attack: Lyndale Roberts, 18, and a 15-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl…..
Firefighters Rappel Down the Windows of Children’s Cancer Hospital in Unforgettable Christmas Surprise

In place of decking the halls, the men and women of the Sandy Springs Fire Department (SSFD) link up with Santa, and rappel down the walls of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to surprise infirm kids who can’t leave their rooms.
The event is now in its third year, and this time they brought along Superman and Spiderman to ensure it was a moment the children would never forget.
In 2018, the department thought about doing something that would inspire the pediatric patients, since Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta serves the whole city, but was located so close to their fire station. Rappelling from the rooftop needed a bit of planning, but fortunately Department Section Chief Kyle Sweeney got in touch with the right people, and in 2022, it finally got off the ground, or rather, off the roof.
“It’s a simple interaction, but it has a huge impact,” Sweeney told GNN in an emailed statement.
“For many of us, it’s one of the most rewarding things we get to do all year. Firefighters are used to showing up on people’s worst days, so having the opportunity to bring joy instead is incredibly powerful. It reminds us why we chose this career in the first place.”….
