On Sunday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department in West Virginia announced that Morgan L. Morrow of Ripley was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, according to Fox News reported.

“Further details will be released as we continue to compile facts and further the investigation,” Jackson County Sheriff RH Mellinger said. “NOTE: This is not meant to be a political – oriented statement. This is an active criminal investigation with documented and troubling concerns.”

DOJ: 31 additional suspects charged in ‘ATM Jackpotting’ scheme, with money ‘funneled directly to Tren de Aragua leadership’

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Monday that it has charged 31 additional individuals in connection with a sprawling, multi-million dollar “ATM jackpotting” scheme linked to Tren de Aragua (TdA).

Fifty-six others have already been charged, and this latest round of indictments brings the total number of defendants in the case to 87, as federal authorities move to dismantle a financial pipeline purportedly used to fund the violent Venezuelan gang.

“Many of the defendants charged in this Homeland Security Task Force operation are Venezuelan and Colombian nationals including illegal alien Tren de Aragua (TdA) members,” the DOJ announced.

“Tren de Aragua is a complex terrorist organization that commits serious financial crimes in addition to horrific rapes, murders, and drug trafficking,” Attorney General Pam Bondi added. “This Department of Justice has already prosecuted more than 290 members of Tren de Aragua and will continue working tirelessly to put these vicious terrorists behind bars after the prior administration let them infiltrate our country.”

The charges, returned by a federal grand jury in the District of Nebraska, describe a highly coordinated effort to hack into ATMs across the United States using sophisticated malware to force the machines to dispense their entire reserves of cash.

According to court documents, the conspiracy relied on a variant of the Ploutus malware, one of the most advanced families of ATM-targeting software. The operation was also not a simple smash-and-grab as it involved a methodical, three-step technical execution:…

Repeat offender on parole for murder tied to brutal jail assault, escape hours after robbery

One of four Texas teens accused of violently escaping a local jail was reportedly on parole for murder when he allegedly cut off his ankle monitor and robbed a store earlier this month.

The incident unfolded just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 11, when Edmound Guillory, 19; Desean Dillard, 17; Devontae Simon, 18; and Clayton Johnson, 17, were arrested after allegedly robbing a Sugar Land CVS, according to FOX 26.

Police said the four suspects physically assaulted a store clerk and fled with a bag of cash, the outlet reported. The clerk sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Following the alleged robbery, authorities subsequently apprehended the four suspects and booked them into the local jail on multiple charges, including aggravated robbery.

Later the same day, at around 4:50 p.m., a Sugar Land Police Department jailer went to check on one of the four suspects but was assaulted as he opened the jail cell, FOX 26 reported.

According to court records obtained by ABC 13, the jailer’s head was stomped on “approximately 6 to 7 times” in the brutal attack, and was left unconscious with multiple deep bite marks, a broken nose and severe lacerations.

The suspect allegedly responsible for the attack then released the other three prisoners, and the group managed to escape, according to FOX 26.

Following the incident, Harris County prosecutors reportedly said they warned the court that Guillory was dangerous and had previously tried to keep him in custody after a previous conviction.

“In real time, we thought this young person was a threat to the community,” John Jordan, executive bureau chief with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, told ABC 13. “And it seems like, based on his recent criminal behavior, we were right.”….

Court records obtained by the outlet indicate that Guillory was “found delinquent” in the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Anthony Merchant, a father and husband who worked as a car salesman.

The homicide reportedly occurred in southeast Houston in June 2022, with police adding that then-15-year-old Guillory was one of the shooters.

In 2024, Guillory was arrested and sentenced to 17 years in prison by a juvenile judge in Harris County. However, upon reevaluation by the court ahead of Guillory turning 19 years old, he was released on parole after serving just a fraction of his sentence….

Google settles lawsuit for $68 million following allegations of secretly recording smart device users

A preliminary settlement was filed on Friday in San Jose, California, federal court, but still requires approval by U.S. District Judge Beth Labson Freeman.

The tech giant was accused of illegally recording and disseminating private conversations after its Google Assistant tool was triggered so it could send them targeted advertising.

Google Assistant, which is only supposed to record when a user says phrases such as “Hey Google,” or “Okay Google” or when someone manually pushes a button on the device, inappropriately recorded personal conversations when these “hot words” were not used, without the knowledge of the users of Google smartphones, home speakers, laptops, tablets, Chromecast media players and even wireless earphones, according to the lawsuit.

Users claimed they were targeted with ads based on things they had said when they had not attempted to trigger their smart devices using a hot word.

Google did not acknowledge any fault, but said it decided to settle to avoid the “uncertainty, risk, expense, inconvenience and distraction” of lengthy litigation, according to court documents.

Lawyers for plaintiffs may seek up to one-third of the settlement fund, or about $22.7 million, for legal fees.

Apple reached a similar settlement with smartphone users in December 2024 over its virtual assistant, Siri, for $95 million….

Trump says Noem doing ‘very good job, ‘won’t step down as homeland security chief amid Minnesota shift

President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday he has no plans to ask Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem to step down from her role.

Trump was asked about Noem’s status during a gaggle with reporters outside the White House. He told the press that he still thinks Noem is doing a “great job.”

“Is Kristi Noem going to step down?” a reporter asked.

“No,” Trump responded bluntly.

He later said he believes she is doing a “very good job,” citing her role in closing down the border.

His statement comes as Noem is facing widespread criticism after federal agents killed two U.S. citizens in Minnesota this month.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., called on Trump to fire her directly on Tuesday. In a post on X, the senator accused Noem of “betraying” the department’s central mission…..

Florida GOP Rep Vern Buchanan to retire, adding to wave of House exits

A longtime House Republican who sits on Congress’ powerful tax-writing committee is retiring after 20 years on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., announced on Tuesday that he will not be seeking re-election, ending a two-decade-long career in Washington at the age of 74.

He’s the 28th Republican to join what appears to be a mass exodus from the House of Representatives after the current term. Twenty-one House Democrats will also not seek re-election to the chamber.

Buchanan said in a statement that it was the honor of a lifetime to serve his southwest Florida congressional district.

“Every achievement worth doing began with listening to my constituents and fighting for their priorities. I came to Congress to solve problems, to fight for working families and to help ensure this country remains a place where opportunity is available to everyone willing to work for it,” Buchanan said.

“After 20 years of service, I believe it’s the right time to pass the torch and begin a new chapter in my life.”

Atlanta paid $250k to Muslim activists, part of $1.7 billion fed migrant resettlement

The City of Atlanta paid more than $250,000 to a Chicago-based Muslim organization, which at the time was raising money for another group that’s been accused of aiding Hamas.

The Inner-City Muslim Action Network’s founding executive director is a Palestinian-American community activist earning a salary of $225,000, according to tax filings. During the period Atlanta paid the group, it staged a “Benefit Concert for Gaza” held in Chicago that raised money for another nonprofit called Anera.

Anera has been flagged by two Israeli watchdogs for allegedly working alongside terrorists, which the nonprofit strongly denies.

“I think there are a lot of questions that need to be raised about any organization that’s operating in Gaza right now,” said Yona Schiffmiller, director of research for the Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor, which has issued warnings about Anera. “And there needs to be a lot more uncovered about the way the NGOs have operated in Gaza.”

According to city records, Atlanta’s payments to the Muslim network were to help migrants pouring through U.S. borders – part of a larger tranche of federal dollars paid out to a list of nonprofits “to stabilize families and individuals that are encountered by Department of Homeland Security.”…

Sweden to Lower Age of Criminal Responsibility to 13 Amid Youth Gang Wars

At a press conference on Monday, representatives of the governing Tidö coalition government said that the criminal age of responsibility for the most serious crimes, such as murder and attempted murder, will be gradually lowered over the next five years to 13, Aftonbladet reported.

They said the change would affect crimes with a minimum prison sentence of four years, as well as attempts or conspiracies to commit such crimes.

The planned legislation from the governing parties would also eliminate the lighter sentencing requirements for people aged 18 to 20 years old and increase the maximum sentence for minors from 14 to 18 years in prison.

It comes in response to the growing issue of criminal networks recruiting young teenagers, often from impoverished minority and migrant communities, as those under 18 face less imprisonment than adults.

As long ago as 2015, Swedish police told Breitbart News how mass migration was transforming the crime picture in the country, with migrant criminal gangs importing a whole new type of lawlessness into what had once been a relatively peaceful corner of Europe….

‘We Really Need Help’: Trump’s Plan to Fast-Track Rebuilding Fire-Ravaged L.A. Brings Victims Relief

The president on Friday signed an executive order to speed up the rebuilding process after the Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires tore through the area, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

The fires burned down countless homes and left thousands of people with no place to go. One woman told ABC 11 on the one-year anniversary of the devastating event, “It was like being in a zombie apocalypse movie is what I felt like.”

Thirty-one people died as a result of the fires, the outlet noted:

In the wake of the lingering devastation, President Trump, who is a former real estate developer, is taking action.

According to the Post, Trump said Friday, “I want to see if we can take over the city and state and just give the people their permits they want to build.”

He also laid blame at the feet of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) when it came to the slow rebuilding process. The outlet said over 16,000 buildings were destroyed but officials have issued a mere 2,600 construction permits.

Appeals Court Sides With Trump, ICE in Minnesota Civil Rights Case

Amid escalating tensions in Minnesota, Immigration and Customs Enforcement scored a court win on Monday in staving off agitators.

A three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals put a stay on a lower court ruling that restricted ICE agents from arresting, detaining, or pepper-spraying agitators without probable cause, Fox News reported

“We accessed and viewed the same videos the district court did,” the appeals court ruling said.

“What they show is observers and protesters engaging in a wide range of conduct, some of it peaceful but much of it not. They also show federal agents responding in various ways.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted on X that this was a “WIN AGAINST JUDICIAL ACTIVISM IN MINNESOTA.”

“The [Justice Department] went to court. We got a temporary stay,” Bondi said in the post. “NOW, the 8th Circuit has fully agreed that this reckless attempt to undermine law enforcement cannot stand.”

The federal complaint against the Department of Homeland Security and ICE alleged federal law enforcement violated the civil rights of six protesters…

DHS Confirms ICE Will Conduct Enforcement Operations at Super Bowl

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told TMZ Sports their mission “remains unchanged” despite unrest in Minnesota

Per Fox News, DHS adviser Corey Lewandowski said in October that ICE enforcement is a “directive from the president” and will not be stopped for the Super Bowl, which is between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium.

“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,” Lewandowski said during an interview on “The Benny Show” podcast. “Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find and deport you. That is a very real situation.”

McLaughlin said security at the event “will entail a whole-of-government response conducted in line with the U.S. Constitution.”

“Those who are here legally and are not breaking other laws have nothing to fear,” she added. …
