Violent felon accused of fatally shooting off-duty corrections officer who intervened after suspect allegedly beat female

Afelon with a violent criminal history is accused of fatally shooting an off-duty corrections officer who intervened when the suspect allegedly was beating a woman at a Florida truck stop early Saturday morning.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 29-year-old Demaurea Grant at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at a home in Gastonia, North Carolina, and is pending extradition to Jacksonville, the Florida Times-Union reported, citing Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters’ announcement during a news conference.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a male and female were involved in a violent dispute around 1:20 a.m. in the 12900 block of Duval Road. You can view surveillance video of the incident here.
The suspect was observed exiting a black Mustang, placing a black handgun on the hood, removing the female from the driver’s seat, and then battering the female, throwing her against the vehicle and the ground.
Off-duty Corrections Officer Bradley McNew had just finished his shift, heard the disturbance, and went to check on the female victim, the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect approached McNew, said it was a family matter, re-engaged with the female, and then pointed the gun in Officer McNew’s direction, the sheriff’s office said….

The Bronx rally came after President Trump delivered remarks to a massive crowd of roughly 100,000 supporters in Wildwood, New Jersey….
Trump says Joe Rogan interview will happen: ‘I’m doing it’

President Donald Trump suggested on the Monday episode of the “Full Send Podcast” that he would soon appear on “The Joe Rogan Experience” to speak with the titular host.
While the Republican has appeared on a number of popular podcasts in recent weeks, a sit-down with Rogan would undoubtedly help maximize his reach. Rogan’s show is in the top three podcasts on Spotify, which is the top U.S. podcast network, and Rogan’s show boasts over 17.4 million subscribers on YouTube.
“Full Send Podcast” host Kyle Forgeard said to Trump, “You’re doing a lot of podcasts recently. One that I would love to see you on is — I think Joe Rogan has to have you on.” Forgeard then asked, “Would you do that?”
“Oh, sure I would,” said Trump. “I mean I think I’m doing it, actually.”..
Texas Poll Workers Must Now Require Naturalization Docs From People Trying To Vote With Noncitizen IDs

After instructing poll workers last week to give ballots to people who present a noncitizen driver’s license, the Texas secretary of state updated the guidance to require those voters to also provide proof of naturalization.
“[E]lection workers have an obligation under state criminal law not to facilitate illegal voting by non-citizens,” reads a Friday memo from Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson to election officials regarding the updated guidance. “When an individual attempts to vote by presenting a temporary or limited-term driver’s license (which federal regulations say must be issued only to non-citizens who are lawfully present in this country) election workers must require that the individual produce a naturalization card or naturalization certificate demonstrating U.S. citizenship to receive a regular ballot.”
Nelson said the change came after the state’s attorney general did not respond to her office’s request for a “formal legal opinion” on “this important issue.”
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, told The Federalist the updated guidance is a “good step” in the right direction….

Texas teen’s abduction at Dallas Mavericks NBA game shows nothing is off limits: expert

The heart-wrenching ordeal of Natalee Cramer, a Texas 15-year-old abducted from a Dallas Mavericks game and rescued from sex traffickers in Oklahoma 10 days later, is a reminder that “trafficking can happen to anyone anywhere,” an expert told Fox News Digital.
“A trafficking victim can look like anyone, and a trafficker can look like anyone – people too often think ‘It doesn’t happen to me, it doesn’t happen in my country, it doesn’t happen to my community – it doesn’t happen to people here,'” said Stefany Ovalles, an attorney with the Center for Safety and Change who has legally represented dozens of sex trafficking victims. “To rely on that as a blanket statement is being too naive about what human trafficking looks like.”
Every two minutes worldwide, a child is sold into sexual slavery. Of the 4.8 million total victims of sex trafficking, 300,000 are American children, according to the Safe House Project nonprofit.
It is estimated that sex trafficking generates more than $150 billion in profits for traffickers and their facilitators, according to the U.S. Department of State.
Natalee Cramer, now 18, was just 15 years old when she and her father attended a Mavericks game at American Airlines Center in Dallas on April 8, 2022.
Cramer, who is now sober and pursuing a GED, said she was dependent on marijuana and alcohol to cope with her anxiety at the time, and when the game started, she began to feel anxious, she told WFAA….

Former US soldier sentenced for planning ISIS attacks on NYC and US military personnel

Cole Bridges, a former U.S. Army soldier, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Friday for his attempt to provide support to the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, Gothamist reported.
Prosecutors contend Bridges not only suggested potential targets in New York City, but that he used his military training to coordinate an ISIS attack on U.S. soldiers stationed in the Middle East, the report said.
According to the outlet, Bridges landed on the FBI’s radar after the agency uncovered social media posts and online searches appearing to support ISIS. An undercover agent began communicating with Bridges in 2020, posing as a female ISIS supporter….

Pentagon deploying 100 troops, missile defense system to Israel

The Pentagon announced on Sunday that President Joe Biden had directed Defense Department Secretary Lloyd Austin to deploy a Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system and 100 troops to Israel as tension continues to build in the Middle East following Iran’s recent attack against Israel.
“This is not the first time the United States has deployed a THAAD battery to the region,” Ryder said in Sunday’s statement from the Pentagon. “The President directed the military to deploy a THAAD battery to the Middle East last year following the October 7th attacks to defend American troops and interests in the region. The United States previously deployed a THAAD battery to Israel in 2019 for training and an integrated air defense exercise.”
According to CNN, the THAAD missile defense system is designed to protect against ballistic missile threats like the attack Iran recently attempted against Israel. The outlet noted that the deployment of the THAAD missile defense system could significantly help Israel defend itself if Iran responds to Israel’s expected retaliation strike with another attack.
While CNN reported that the deployment of U.S. troops inside Israel is a rare move for the Pentagon, the outlet said 100 troops is the typical number of U.S. troops deployed for the operation of the THAAD missile defense system.
According to Fox News, when asked why he directed the deployment of the anti-ballistic missile defense system, Biden answered, “To defend Israel.”….
Boeing to cut 10% of workforce, stop most 767 production amid strike

Boeing will lay off 10% of its workforce in the coming months and cut its production amid a month-old strike that has left the company burning through cash as its factories sit idle.
The company said Friday it would end production of its Everett-built 767 freighter in 2027, after it completed current orders for 29 jets.
It also delayed the rollout of another Everett, Washington-built plane, its new 777X, to 2026, following years of certification delays and the recent discovery of a defective part that grounded test flights earlier this year.
The job cuts will impact roughly 17,000 workers across all levels of the company, Boeing said Friday. It’s not clear how the cuts will impact the company’s 66,000-person Washington workforce, or the striking machinists. In a note to employees Friday, new Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg told workers the company had to “reset our workforce levels to align with our financial reality.”….

Federal Prosecutors Charge Migrants for Increasing Assaults Against Border Patrol Agents

As reported by Breitbart Texas, an unidentified Border Patrol agent was attacked while on patrol near Sunland Park, New Mexico. As the agent attempted to apprehend a migrant for crossing the border alongside several others, a struggle ensued.
The migrant, later identified as Ricardo Prieto-Simental of Mexico, allegedly punched and bit the Border Patrol agent on September 19 while being led to a transport vehicle.
News of the assault highlighted a rise in assaults against agents, particularly in the El Paso Sector. According to CBP, in the El Paso Sector, which includes Sunland Park, New Mexico, agents have seen the number of assaults rise from 46 in 2021 to more than 70 this year since October.
Prieto-Simental is charged with assault of a federal agent and is being detained pending trial. The announcement last week by the Department of Justice highlighted several other prosecutions as part of an effort by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, FBI, and the Border Patrol to combat the rising assaults on agents along the southwest border.
In another case highlighted in the United States Attorney’s office announcement, Erika Jasmin Lobato-Melendez pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer involving physical contact for her role in an attack on a Border Patrol agent that occurred on May 29, 2024.
When a Border Patrol agent encountered a group of five individuals, including three children, walking along the border wall Lobato-Melendez, a Salvadoran national, bit the Agent on the forearm with enough force to cause bruising and abrasions through her uniform jacket. As a result, the agent required medical treatment….
China Holds Major Drills Around Taiwan as ‘Warning’ to President Lai

Chinese land, sea, air, and rocket forces held massive joint military exercises around Taiwan on Monday. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) said these intimidating drills were meant as a “stern warning to the separatist acts of ‘Taiwan independence’ forces.”
To drive that point home, the exercise was dubbed “Joint Sword-2024B” by the Chinese military. Joint Sword-2024A was the show of force China mounted after President William Lai Ching-te was inaugurated in May.
Beijing’s latest tantrum was apparently sparked by Lai’s National Day speech in Taipei on Thursday. Lai said during the speech that he would “uphold the commitment to resist annexation or encroachment upon our sovereignty.”
Lai couched this statement of defiance in the gentlest terms possible, saying he would also preserve the “status quo of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait” and work with Beijing on matters of mutual interest, such as climate change and infectious diseases.
Lai was nevertheless firm on preserving the autonomy of his government, the Republic of China (ROC). His speech included an observation that invariably enrages Beijing: Taiwanese National Day is the anniversary of the ROC’s founding in 1911, while the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was not founded until 1949, so the younger communist government cannot logically claim to be the “motherland” of Taiwan.
For good measure, Lai suggested that if the PRC really wants to invade someone to restore China’s “territorial integrity,” it ought to fight Russia to reclaim the Manchurian territory given away in the humiliating 1858 Treaty of Aigun…..

Biden-Harris DOJ Sues To Stop Virginia From Taking Noncitizens Off The Voter Rolls

The Biden-Harris Justice Department filed a lawsuit on Friday alleging that Virginia’s removal of noncitizens and other ineligible registrants from its voter rolls is illegal.
“The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy and the Justice Department will continue to ensure that the rights of qualified voters are protected,” Kristen Clarke, the hyper-partisan head of the agency’s Civil Rights Division, contended in a melodramatic statement.
The suit comes in response to efforts by Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin and the Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) to ensure only eligible U.S. citizens are on the state’s voter registration lists.
In an August executive order directing commonwealth agencies to undertake election security efforts ahead of the November election, Youngkin revealed that ELECT had removed 6,303 noncitizens from Virginia’s voter rolls from January 2022 to July 2024. The directive also included instructions for ensuring accuracy within the state voter rolls…..
Port Hedland Council Votes to Expose ‘DNA Contamination’ in mRNA Vaccines, Demands Immediate Suspension of COVID-19 Shots Nationwide

The Special Meeting convened by the Port Hedland Council on October 11, 2024, marked a watershed moment in the ongoing national debate surrounding DNA contamination in mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, particularly Pfizer and Moderna’s products.
This highly anticipated session was called in response to mounting evidence of DNA contamination, presented by experts such as Dr. David Speicher, alongside a series of letters from MP Russell Broadbent. The gravity of the concerns raised, along with the council’s proactive stance, has drawn attention not only within Western Australia but across the entire nation.
The meeting was initiated following increasing public unease about potential DNA contamination in mRNA vaccines.
Dr. David Speicher’s report, which was central to the discussion, revealed that the contamination levels in these vaccines were up to 145 times higher than the acceptable safety limits set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
This contamination was found to include fragments of synthetic DNA, raising significant concerns about the risks of genomic integration, immune system disruptions, and potentially increased rates of cancer and hereditary defects.
In response to these findings, MP Russell Broadbent had already written to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, calling for the immediate suspension of mRNA vaccines.
Broadbent’s letters, backed by a cohort of 52 health experts, added weight to the argument, further urging the government to address the regulatory failures and protect public health….
