Big Apple driving school rigged licenses for illegal aliens, even if they couldn’t drive

Investigators expect they’ve only uncovered the “tip of the iceberg” after Operation Road Test exposed a New York City scheme to get illegal aliens driver’s licenses.

As the downward spiral of Gotham continues, many are still hard at work upholding the law, and on Tuesday, that included announcing an indictment of 14 individuals alleged to have participated in a pay-to-drive scheme.

Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon detailed during a press conference Tuesday that “hundreds if not thousands of people” may have illegally obtained licenses through T&E Driving School in Queens.

“The numbers, as we go through this investigation, as we go through the materials that have been seized, we think that we are going to find hundreds if not thousands of people that have been part of this scam,” he explained of the scheme uncovered by a team that included his office, Homeland Security Investigations’ (HSI) New York field office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

The school was said to be paying off Department of Motor Vehicle employees from the money provided by Chinese nationals, which ranged between $1,600 and $2,000 per license.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday pledged, “there will be no Hamas” in postwar Gaza after Hamas indicated they are willing to consider a ceasefire with Israel.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza and called on Hamas to accept the deal before the situation deteriorates further. Trump has been applying pressure on both the Israeli government and Hamas to reach a ceasefire and hostage agreement, with the goal of ending the conflict.

Hamas said in a brief statement Wednesday that it had received a proposal from the mediators and is holding talks with them to “bridge gaps” to return to the negotiating table to try to reach a ceasefire agreement….

Trump told reporters earlier today that he is hopeful a ceasefire-for-hostages deal can be reached next week between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. He is scheduled to meet Netanyahu at the White House on Monday.

Hamas has said it is willing to free the remaining hostages and open a new chapter in Gaza under any deal to end the war, while Israel states it can only end if Hamas is disarmed and dismantled. Hamas refuses to lay down its arms….

White House summons House GOP holdouts threatening Trump megabill

A cross-section of House Republicans — from hard-line conservatives to moderates — are headed to the White House on Wednesday to meet with President Trump about the party’s tax cut and spending bill.

The meetings come as GOP leaders lean on Republican holdouts who have voiced serious opposition to the bill, threatening leadership’s hopes of getting it to the president’s desk by July 4.

Hard-liners are vowing to vote against the procedural rule for the bill, which would bring the House floor to a standstill.

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus who voted against the rule in committee early Wednesday, said he was headed to the White House to meet with Trump, along with other lawmakers in the group. A source familiar with the matter told The Hill that the White House invited Freedom Caucus members to the gathering.

Most Republican lawmakers relented on their concerns with the bill when it came up in the House the first time after Trump and the White House deployed a strong pressure campaign, cajoling the members to get on board.

This time around, however, some members are demanding changes to the Senate-passed version of the legislation to win their support…

And the fact that American Express is footing the bill for all of it is not just wrong; it’s a wake-up call for all of America.

This is what passes for family values in corporate America now.

There’s nothing inclusive about using corporate cash to intentionally bring children into a situation that many see as ethically creepy, psychologically confusing, and morally wrong. And yet, Amex doesn’t just approve it; it sponsors it.
