This story involves a group of so-called poor, wayward “Somali refugees” who duped America and stole upwards of $240 million from hard-working US taxpayers over the years.
The Department of Justice announced today federal criminal charges against 47 defendants for their alleged roles in a $250 million fraud scheme that exploited a federally-funded child nutrition program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These indictments, alleging the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme charged to date, underscore the Department of Justice’s sustained commitment to combating pandemic fraud and holding accountable those who perpetrate it,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “In partnership with agencies across government, the Justice Department will continue to bring to justice those who have exploited the pandemic for personal gain and stolen from American taxpayers.”
“Today’s indictments describe an egregious plot to steal public funds meant to care for children in need in what amounts to the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme yet,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “The defendants went to great lengths to exploit a program designed to feed underserved children in Minnesota amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, fraudulently diverting millions of dollars designated for the program for their own personal gain. These charges send the message that the FBI and our law enforcement partners remain vigilant and will vigorously pursue those who attempt to enrich themselves through fraudulent means.”
“This was a brazen scheme of staggering proportions,” said U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger for the District of Minnesota. “These defendants exploited a program designed to provide nutritious food to needy children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, they prioritized their own greed, stealing more than a quarter of a billion dollars in federal funds to purchase luxury cars, houses, jewelry, and coastal resort property abroad. I commend the work of the skilled investigators and prosecutors who unraveled the lies, deception, and mountains of false documentation to bring this complex case to light.”
The 47 defendants are charged across six separate indictments and three criminal informations with charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, money laundering, and bribery.
Well, we’ve got an update on this disturbing story.
As it turns out, these so-called loving refugees never had any plans to assimilate into our culture or work hard for that “medical degree.” They didn’t just scam us out of hundreds of millions; when the trial came around, they figured out ways to rig and weaponize our judicial system too (just like Democrats). It turns out that a “mysterious” woman dressed in black attempted to make a total mockery of it all by trying to buy off jurors with literal bags of money.
Dressed in black, a mysterious woman arrived at a juror’s suburban house late Sunday night, clutching a party bag stuffed with wads of cash, nearly $120,000 in all.
It was a present for the 23-year-old juror in the Feeding Our Future federal trial, the woman explained to the juror’s father-in-law, who answered the door just before 9 p.m. If the juror voted to acquit the seven defendants in the fraud case, there would “be more of that present tomorrow,” the woman said, handing over a white floral gift bag filled with $100, $50 and $20 bills, according to an FBI search warrant filed Monday….
Illinois consumers may have to ‘swipe twice’ when paying with credit card
If Gov. J.B. Pritzker signs the budget and revenue package legislators approved, consumers paying by card may have to swipe to pay for their goods and swipe again to pay the sales tax for those goods.
Part of the deal with the Illinois Retail Merchants Association in exchange for a cap on the credit retailers get for collecting and remitting sales taxes is a change to the so-called interchange fee, limiting the fees financial institutions can charge on the sales tax of transactions.
During a Senate committee before the measure passed last month, Ashly Sharp with the Illinois Credit Union League said the change is flawed and impossible to implement.
Smith said enactment will require a “massive overhaul” of payment processing in order to comply. She also said the penalties for noncompliance are steep and could be ripe for miscalculations and potential fraud.
“Why would card networks continue to process transactions in which they’re prohibited from charging fees,” Smith asked. “Card processing has evolved into a quick and painless process but in no situation is it ever completely free.”…
Nebraska Woman Found Breathing at Funeral Home Hours After Being Declared Dead
At a news conference on June 3, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LSO) Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said 74-year-old Constance Glantz of Lincoln, Nebraska, was pronounced dead at 9:44 a.m. on Monday by staff at the nursing home where she’d been in hospice care.
However, about two hours after Ms. Glantz was presumed dead, dispatchers received a call for a “medical emergency” from the Lincoln funeral home she was transported to, Butherus-Maser & Love.
“An employee was placing Constance Glantz onto a table to start their process, and an employee noticed that she was breathing,” Mr. Houchin said, adding the worker “instantly called 911.”
A spokesperson for Lincoln Fire & Rescue said during the news conference that emergency workers performed CPR on the patient before taking her to a local hospital, where she eventually died about five hours later.
When Mr. Houchin was answering questions from reporters, he also confirmed that “at least one nurse” had seen Ms. Glantz from her time of death to the funeral home.
Former Epsilon Executive, Manager Convicted of Selling Data of Millions of Americans to Fraud Perpetrators
A former executive and manager of a data broker company were found guilty of wire fraud and mail fraud, targeting elderly Americans and stealing potentially over $120 million.
After a two-week trial, Robert Reger, 57, of Boulder, Colorado, and David Lytle, 64, of Leawood, Kansas, employees of data broker Epsilon Data Management, were found guilty of wire fraud and mail fraud, according to a Department of Justice press release.
The two men exploited their positions and access to data in the data broker company Epsilon and sold elderly and vulnerable people’s home addresses to fraud perpetrators, with the number of targeted people at their disposal reaching 100 million households.
The fraud scheme has been running for ten years, with the direct fraud perpetrators—Mr. Reger and Mr. Lytle’s buyers—sending false and deceptive mail to elderly people, many of whom became victims and sent back checks, losing more than $120 million, according to the DOJ….
“A Blatant Lie”: The Biden Campaign Falsely Accuses Fox’s John Roberts of Lying About the Insulin Caps
Winston Churchill once said that “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
It often seems like the Biden White House and campaign has embraced that warning as an operating principle. The most recent target was the veteran Fox news anchor John Roberts, who was accused of airing “a blatant lie” in questioning Biden’s claim that he was the first president to push through a cap of $35 on insulin treatments.
Roberts was entirely correct, but the campaign has still not removed the false attack on his integrity and accuracy.
Yesterday, the Biden campaign launched the attack on Roberts for his questioning of the claim of President Joe Biden that he solely secured the insulin cap. Roberts remarked that he had a recollection that it was former President Donald Trump who pushed the cap.
“I seem to remember that back in May of 2020, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid said that President Trump had signed an executive order to cap the price of insulin for Medicare recipients at 35 bucks. Now, maybe I’m misremembering that, but I think it kind of already happened.”
The Biden campaign then called it “a blatant lie” in a posting on X that has reached over a million people.
Contrary to the Biden campaign’s claims, Roberts’s recollection was entirely correct. Under the Trump Administration, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced in May 2020 that the Part D Senior Savings Model participating plans would cap insulin copays to $35 per month’s supply, and over 1,750 Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans applied to offer lower insulin costs.

Boy, 3, dies after toddler and mum stabbed in ‘random’ supermarket attack
A three-year-old boy has tragically died after he and his mum were stabbed in a supermarket car park in what police believe was a random attack.
The toddler, identified as Julian Wood, and his mother, Margot Wood, were attacked outside a Giant Eagle supermarket in North Olmstead, Ohio, just after 3pm on Monday, June 3.
Margot was about to load her shopping into her vehicle when someone ran at the mother and son with a knife and stabbed them both, police said. The quick response of the North Olmsted division officers led to the apprehension of the suspect and immediate first aid for the victims.
Both Julian and his mother were rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics, but sadly, the young boy succumbed to his injuries. Julian suffered stab wounds to his back and cheek, according to police reports.
Margot survived the horrifying ordeal and is currently recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect has been named as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis from Cleveland, as reported by WECT News 6. Police have confirmed that she had no prior connection with the victims.

U.S. job openings sank in April to the lowest level in more than three years, the latest sign that the labor market is cooling off as the economy slows.
The Labor Department said Tuesday there were 8.1 million job openings in April, a decrease from the downwardly revised 8.35 million openings reported the previous month. Economists surveyed by LSEG expected a reading of 8.3 million.
It marked the lowest level for job openings since February 2021.

Biden announces border ‘crackdown’ that will still let in at least 1.8 million illegally per year
The Biden administration announced an executive order Tuesday that it claims would shut down the US-Mexico border once illegal crossings hit 2,500 per day between points of entry for seven consecutive days — a “crackdown” that will still permit a minimum of 1.8 million new arrivals into America every year even if enforced properly.
The order, which is expected to take effect immediately, would lift border restrictions two weeks after the number of crossings averages 1,500 for seven days straight, senior administration officials said in a background call previewing President Biden’s 2 p.m. announcement.
The new restrictions include several exceptions, such as allowing migrants to cross the border who use the CBP One mobile application at a port of entry, as well as “unaccompanied children, victims of a severe form of trafficking, those who face an acute medical emergency or an imminent an extreme threat to life and safety and other non citizens who have a valid visa or some other lawful permission to enter the United States,” the officials said.
Hundreds of thousands more have been allowed into the US using the CBP One app, with 529,250 migrants gaining admission in the 13 months since the program was announced by Biden in January 2023.

It’s no accident that The Wall Street Journal ran an “exclusive” hagiographic piece on Merrick Garland’s “by-the-book, play-no-favorites approach” the day the attorney general is set to be grilled by Congress. The administration wants to paint the AG as a fair-minded dispenser of justice.
In truth, while Garland might occasionally — only when faced with no real options — put the Biden administration in an uncomfortable political position, he has regularly weaponized the agency to target the president’s political enemies, from pro-life protesters to concerned parents to presidential candidates.
Garland’s claims of executive privilege are risible. If Biden’s audio can be withheld from the public simply because someone somewhere might manipulate the tape using AI, then any audio of any president can be denied the public.

So, the real problem here isn’t the deep fake; it’s the unedited tape. Withholding the audio is obviously politically motivated. Which is unsurprising, since Garland has been one of the most partisan AGs in memory.
