Illegal aliens’ attempted breach of military base was ‘dry run’ for future attack, says former staffer
Dave Katz, a former federal firearms instructor who worked at Marine Corps Base Quantico near Triangle, Virginia, toldFox News Digital that the attempted breach of the base earlier this month by two foreign nationals may have been a “dry run” for a future attack.
Katz, a former DEA agent and the CEO and founder of Global Security Group, warned that a similar, more dangerous incident could occur again. He told Fox News Digital, “Driving the box truck was a dry run for driving a box truck that was not going to be empty the second time.”
“Can I prove that? No. But it’s like the 9/11 hijackers trying to get aboard planes with box cutters on other occasions prior to actually perpetrating the act,” he added.
Katz told Fox News Digital that he is skeptical of the men’s cover story.
“A student overstay somehow gets in contact with someone illegally crossing into the U.S. on the other side of the country. Both of them wind up in that truck,” Katz stated. “There is no possible explanation for what happened other than a sinister one.”
“Can anyone come up with any reasonable explanation as to why two illegal aliens from Jordan would be driving a box truck in a sensitive area, other than to try to make a dry run for a future incident?” Katz continued. “If you can’t provide an explanation for that, it’s terror related.”….
Illinois Senator: ‘We Raised Your Taxes $1 Billion Just to Spend on Migrants’
Illinois has passed its largest tax hikes in state history with nearly one billion in new taxes in a $53 billion budget. But the state has also dispersed nearly as much as the tax hike on migrant spending alone.
The tax hike disgusted Republican State Senator Dan McConchie. He noted almost the entirety of the tax hike is going to more spending on Joe Biden’s migrant problem in Illinois, and he told his constituents that the legislature “raised your taxes just to spend on migrants.”
After hours of closed-door discussions not open to the public or the media on Sunday, the state’s Democrat-dominated senate hammered out a budget that total in at $53.1 billion for fiscal 2025 that will begin on July 1.
The budget was passed on a 38-21 vote with no Republicans voting in support, according to the State Journal-Register.
The initial proposal included $1.1 billion in new revenues through tax increases, the paper reported. But by the final vote, that huge glut of new taxes was whittled down slightly to a total of $870 million in new taxes….
Fed President Kashkari: Immigration Surge Keeps Inflation and Interest Rates Sky-High
Kashkari, who runs the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, said he’s not ready to consider cutting rates until he sees “several months of real progress on inflation.” The flood of immigrants, he argued, is hindering that progress.
U.S. borrowing costs are likely to stay put for “an extended period of time,” Kashkari warned.
He’s particularly freaked out by the booming demand for housing, which just won’t cool off despite sky-high rates.
Kashkari’s immigration bombshell runs directly contrary to the claims by the Biden administration and its allies that surging immigration is keeping down inflation by depressing wages.
Kashkari said that “dramatic increase in immigration” is boosting housing demand. More people working from home and years of underbuilding aren’t helping either. It’s a perfect storm that’s keeping the housing market red-hot.

Decades of Science Link Popular Artificial Sweetener to Serious Health Risks
Dozens of studies have linked the popular artificial sweetener aspartame to serious health problems, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, seizures, stroke and dementia, as well as negative effects such as intestinal dysbiosis, mood disorders, headaches and migraines.
Evidence also links aspartame to weight gain, increased appetite and obesity-related diseases. This evidence raises questions about the legality of marketing aspartame-containing products, such as Diet Coke, as “diet” drinks or weight-loss products.
In April 2015, U.S. Right to Know petitioned the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate the marketing and advertising practices of “diet” products containing aspartame.
The agencies declined to take action (see FTC response and FDA response).
The World Health Organization (WHO)/Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) reaffirmed the enormous acceptable daily intake of 40 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) of body weight. See the IARC/JECFA statement.
Research by U.S. Right to Know found at least 6 of 13 JECFA panel members have ties to the International Life Sciences Institute, or ILSI, a longtime Coca-Cola front group — including both the chair and vice chair of the JECFA panel: “Did a Coca-Cola front group sway a WHO review of aspartame?”
The FDA has said aspartame is “safe for the general population under certain conditions.”
The agency first approved aspartame for some uses in 1981. Many scientists, then and now, have said the approval was based on suspect data and should be reconsidered.
Since aspartame was first approved in 1974, FDA scientists and independent scientists have both raised concerns about the negative effects of aspartame and shortcomings in the science submitted to the FDA by the manufacturer, G.D. Searle. (Monsanto bought Searle in 1984).
A 2022 study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reports that exposure of mice to aspartame at doses equivalent to below 15% of the FDA-recommended daily intake for humans produces anxiety-like behavior.
The anxiety appears in up to two generations descending from the aspartame-exposed males.
The researchers wrote:
“These data do not merely add anxiety to the long list of aspartame’s adverse effects, but also raise the previously unrecognized possibility that aspartame’s adverse effects are not limited to the individuals who consume it but persist for generations to come.
“Therefore, aspartame deserves a place on the list of environmental agents such as hormones, insecticides, and drugs of abuse whose adverse effects are not limited to the exposed individuals but manifest in multiple generations of descendants.”….

Corporate Media Think Voters Are Dumb Enough To Believe Biden’s Border Invasion Is ‘Quieting’
Corporate media are trying to fool voters into believing that illegal border crossings are “plunging” and the invasion is “quieting” thanks to the joint efforts of the Biden Administration and Mexico, but don’t be fooled by their Biden-boosting spin.
One particular article from the Intelligencer confidently declared “Migrant Border Crossings Are Dropping Rapidly” and wondered if the purported decrease is “Too Late to Help Biden.”
The article branded public disapproval of the border invasion as a product of a “drumbeat of news” and “incessant Republican complaints on the subject,” instead of a growing problem that victimizes young and old Americans everywhere. The author also claimed the so-called “drop” in border crossings is “really good news for the 46th president” ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
First things first, illegal border crossings aren’t actually dropping from the record-breaking levels President Joe Biden and his administration have welcomed and incentivized. In April 2024 alone, 179,725 illegal crossers were caught (and likely released) by Customs and Border Protection after they tried to sneak across the Southwest border.
In fact, CBP data suggests the April 2024 stats are higher than 21 of the last 24 fiscal years, even without counting the estimated millions of “gotaways” that successfully evaded capture and processing from border patrol.
Even if border crossings were “dropping,” as corporate media so dubiously claim, it has not been enough to curtail voters’ concerns regarding illegal border crossings. Recent polling indicates that the invasion has become a top concern for voters in the 2024 election and that a majority disapprove of Biden’s handling of the crisis.
A plurality of swing state voters say securing the U.S. border is more important than shelling out taxpayer dollars to protect other countries’ borders.

JD Vance Calls for Federal Investigation into Judge Juan Merchan’s ‘Conduct’ in Trump Trial
Vance, who is reportedly in contention to be Trump’s running mate, penned a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday, calling for a probe into Merchan due to potential violations of sections 241 and 242 of Title 18.
“These statutes would seem to have quite a lot to say about the conduct of Juan Merchan, the New York trial judge and Democratic political donor who has set up a kangaroo court for Donald Trump in Manhattan,” he wrote.
The Department of Justice notes that Section 242 “makes it a crime for someone acting under color of law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.”
“It is not necessary that the offense be motivated by racial bias or by any other animus,” it adds.
Vance cites the sweeping gag order Merchan has imposed on Trump in the trial as a potential violation of this section.

‘Your bias is outrageous’: WSJ editorial condemns ICJ ruling against Israel

The ICJ’s call for a halt in IDF operations in Rafah is just “another anti-Israel ruling in the Hague”, the Wall Street Journal commented in a recent editorial on May 24.
Last Friday, the ICJ ruled that Israel “must immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governorate, which may inflict on the Palestinian group in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”
The WSJ however responded to this ruling by stating that “the only group Israel aims to destroy in Rafah is Hamas,” who, ironically, are not party to the ICJ trial as a non-member. WSJ comments on the double-standards of “demand[ing] nothing of [Hamas], while seeming to tell Israel unilaterally to stop fighting in the terrorists’ last stronghold.”
The editorial claimed that Israel’s evacuation of Rafah – amounting to about a million Gazans – was done “expertly” and draws attention to Israel’s need to bring back the hostages: “The ICJ knows that Hamas refuses to release them.”
“The judges effectively asked Israel to abandon the hostages.”…
