CCP-Linked Scholar Arrested for Scheme To Smuggle Crop-Destroying Pathogen Into US, Prosecutors Say

Authorities arrested a University of Michigan scholar with ties to the Chinese Communist Party for her involvement in allegedly smuggling a biological pathogen into the United States that could be used as a terrorism weapon to devastate U.S. food crops, according to a federal filing unsealed Tuesday.
Prosecutors have charged the scholar, 33-year-old Yunqing Jian, and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Zunyong Liu, with conspiring to smuggle Fusarium graminearum, a crop-destroying fungus that produces toxins harmful to humans and livestock, into the United States.
Investigators discovered evidence of Jian’s membership in the CCP and say that she received funding from a CCP-backed foundation to conduct postdoctoral research on the pathogen, the Detroit News reported based on the filing.
The arrest comes as the Trump administration has ramped up its efforts to counter CCP influence on American college campuses and beyond, tightening visa restrictions for Chinese researchers and cracking down on CCP-linked Confucius Institutes.
On Friday, prosecutors unsealed a separate case against a Chinese national and former University of Michigan student who allegedly voted illegally in the 2024 election before fleeing the country to avoid prosecution, the News reported.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced last week that the Trump administration will “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.” The administration will also ramp up “scrutiny of all future visa applications from the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong,” Rubio said…
Florida drug traffickers reportedly tortured rival by pouring hot sauce into parts of his body

Lured by the prospect of receiving payment for an outstanding debt, a drug trafficking rival of Mario Espino came to Espino’s Florida residence in October 2023, federal officials said.
Instead, the rival — who also worked with Espino previously — was subjected to 18 hours of torture and physical abuse, officials said.
According to court documents, Espino plotted with Jacob James Guest and Joey Lawrence Eugene Young to kidnap the victim, officials said, adding that the trio bound, beat, and tortured him.
As part of the victim’s torture, Espino and Young resorted to “pouring hot sauce in [his] eyes and anus,” Assistant U.S. Attorney David P. Sullivan wrote in Espino’s sentencing memorandum, according to the New York Post.
Espino, Guest, and Young also demanded 10 kilograms of fentanyl as ransom from the trafficker’s cartel drug sources, officials said.
The Post, citing court records, added that Espino had been frustrated over being cut out of the victim’s drug business.
On October 11, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pasco Sheriff’s Office rescued the victim from a vehicle that Espino, Guest, and Young abandoned when law enforcement approached, officials said.
Agents found the victim in the back seat with a pillowcase over his head and zip ties and electrical cords around his wrists, officials said.
Espino, Guest, and Young also left behind 22 kilograms of methamphetamine, 100 grams of fentanyl, a firearm, and more than $10,000 in cash, officials said….
Judge Orders Federal Prisons To Continue Hormone Therapy For Transgender Inmates

The federal Bureau of Prisons must continue providing hormone therapy and social accommodations to hundreds of transgender inmates following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump that led to a disruption in medical treatment, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said in his ruling a federal law prohibits prison officials from arbitrarily depriving inmates of medications and other lifestyle accommodations that its own medical staff has deemed appropriate.
The judge said the transgender inmates who sued to block Trump’s executive order are trying to lessen the personal anguish caused by their gender dysphoria, the distress that a person feels because their assigned gender and gender identity don’t match.
“In light of the plaintiffs’ largely personal motives for undergoing gender-affirming care, neither the BOP nor the Executive Order provides any serious explanation as to why the treatment modalities covered by the Executive Order or implementing memoranda should be handled differently than any other mental health intervention,” the judge wrote…
White House: Congressional Budget Office figures shouldn’t be trusted

The White House doubled down Tuesday on its claims that President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill doesn’t add to the federal deficit and that anyone who says otherwise is “blatantly wrong.”
The White House has now directly countered figures from the Congressional Budget Office several times.
The office has said that while the proposed budget cuts spending in various areas, it will still ultimately add about $4 trillion to the federal deficit.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said last week that projections from the office have been wrong before and are wrong now. However, Tuesday she added that the office has become tainted by political bias and is no longer a truly independent, nonpartisan agency as it is supposed to be.
“There hasn’t been a single staffer in the entire Congressional Budget Office that has contributed to a Republican since the year 2000, but guess what? There have been many staffers… who have contributed to Democrat candidates and politicians every single cycle since,” Leavitt told reporters Tuesday afternoon.
“Unfortunately, this is an institution in our country that has become partisan and political,” Leavitt said.
However, there are others who appear confident that the current budget will add to the deficit and have expressed their concern. In fact, ex-special government employee Elon Musk, who just finished leading a cost-cutting crusade at the Trump-sanctioned Department of Government Efficiency, came out with perhaps his most scathing statement about the budget yet on Tuesday afternoon.
Musk took to his social media platform condemning the budget bill and censuring those who have voted for it…
Hegseth Directs Navy To Remove Harvey Milk’s Name From Ship

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the Navy to take the rare step of renaming a ship, one that bears the name of a gay rights icon, documents and sources show.
Military.com reviewed a memorandum from the Office of the Secretary of the Navy — the official who holds the power to name Navy ships — that showed the sea service had come up with rollout plans for the renaming of the oiler ship USNS Harvey Milk.
A defense official confirmed that the Navy was making preparations to strip the ship of its name but noted that Navy Secretary John Phelan was ordered to do so by Hegseth. The official also said that the timing of the announcement — occurring during Pride month — was intentional.
Military.com reached out to Hegseth’s office for comment on the move but did not immediately receive a response.
However, the memo reviewed by Military.com noted that the renaming was being done so that there is “alignment with president and SECDEF objectives and SECNAV priorities of reestablishing the warrior culture,” apparently referencing President Donald Trump, Hegseth and Phelan.
Milk became one of the first openly gay elected officials in U.S. history during the 1970s, making him an icon of the nascent gay civil rights movement, and was killed while serving on the board of supervisors in San Francisco…
Musk slams Congress spending plan as pork-filled ‘abomination’

Tesla boss Elon Musk on Tuesday leveled his harshest comments yet at the House budget bill, calling it an “abomination.”
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,” Musk wrote on X. “Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., responded: “He’s right.”
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, in its existing form, raises the debt ceiling by $4 trillion and funds most of Trump’s tax, border, energy and defense agenda, including codifying the 2017 tax cuts.
That budget blueprint allowed House committees to budget $4.5 trillion in lost revenue over the next decade, provided they also find $2 trillion in cuts and assume $2.6 trillion in economic growth.
Since House committees found only $1.5 trillion in cuts – including to entitlement programs like Medicaid – the bill authorizes $4 trillion in spending. Organizations such as the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget say the true cost of the bill could amount to a $5.2 trillion federal debt increase.
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt denied the measure would increase U.S. debt, calling anyone who said so “blatantly wrong.”
Musk said Tuesday that the spending measure would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.” He added: “Congress is making America bankrupt.”
The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget said Tuesday the House plan would “massively” boost deficits….
Illegal immigrant suspect in Jocelyn Nungaray’s murder now accused of prior sexual assault in Costa Rica

One of two suspects charged in Jocelyn Nungaray’s murder is now accused of raping an American woman in Costa Rica, according to former Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg.
Two Venezuelan illegal immigrants who may have ties to the Tren de Aragua gang — Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21 — are charged in the 12-year-old’s June 2024 murder. They allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled the pre-teen to death, leaving her body tied up in a bayou in Houston.
Ogg told FOX 26 Houston last week that she learned over the course of her investigation as DA, before her successor Sean Teare took office last year, that Pena Ramos had been involved in a prior sexual assault in Costa Rica involving an American woman who was apparently on vacation at the time.
“It happened in Costa Rica. It happened to an American citizen who came forward with that information after their pictures were shown on national television,” Ogg told the outlet. “When she reported it to the authorities in Costa Rica, they did nothing. Imagine the frustration of that individual. I don’t want that to be swept under the carpet.”
The former district attorney said she came forward with the information to FOX 26 now because she is “very concerned about the decisions” that Teare “has been making,” referencing multiple cases that have been dismissed recently.
Pena Ramos illegally crossed into El Paso, Texas, in May 2024, sources with the Department of Homeland Security previously confirmed to Fox News. He was caught by Border Patrol agents and was released into the U.S. with a Notice to Appear in court.
Rangel Martinez also crossed illegally into El Paso in March and was caught by Border Patrol. He was released into the U.S. on an unknown basis. …
‘Love breaking rules’: Red state dean ousted after admitting on hidden cam she was secretly pushing DEI

Newly released undercover video shows a university administrator in North Carolina boasting about DEI efforts still taking place at the school despite state and federal efforts to roll back the policies, prompting the school to sever ties with that employee.
“I mean we probably still do anyway… but you gotta keep it quiet,” UNC Asheville Dean of Students Megan Pugh tells an undercover journalist in a video released by Accuracy In Media and exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, after being praised for continuing to do “equity work” at the school.
“Keep it on the down low?” the journalist responds, to which Pugh says, “Yeah.”
“But, I love breaking rules,” Pugh then says.
Pugh’s comments come a year after the University of North Carolina System Board of Governors voted to essentially ban DEI and focus on “institutional neutrality,” Carolina Journal reported.
The Accuracy in Media video captures Pugh saying “M’hm” when asked if “breaking rules” is “why y’all kind of spread it out and stuff?”…
Spotify Drops Censorship of Steve Bannon’s ‘WarRoom’ Podcast After 5 Year Ban

Bannon’s WarRoom is back on Spotify after having been pulled from the streaming service — as well as from virtually all other platforms, except for Apple Podcasts — in November 2020.
“The ban is lifted!” the political strategist’s podcast announced in a Monday X post, adding, “The Posse can now get Bannon’s WarRoom on Spotify.”
“Following its temporary suspension and a constructive dialogue with the show’s team, new ‘Bannon’s WarRoom’ episodes are available on Spotify,” a Spotify spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post.
Bannon, meanwhile, told the outlet that while his show is back on the platform, he has not changed his tone or style of commentary since he was banned nearly five years ago.
In addition to having his own show restored, Bannon has also recently been reaching left-leaning audiences, appearing in March on California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D)’s podcast, This is Gavin Newsom, and in April on Bill Maher’s Real Time.
“I can give a punch and I can take a punch — the MAGA movement prides itself in being resilient,” Bannon said of how he has been able to go from bring banned to being in invited to left-wing shows.
Bannon said that while he is glad to have his own show back on Spotify, he remains “adamant” about breaking up massive tech companies, as the ability to erase and then restore someone’s voice at will is a power these entities should not have….
Round One: $9.4 Billion in DOGE Cuts Headed to Capitol Hill

The White House’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Russ Vought told Politico on Wednesday that President Trump was planning to send the package to Congress.
The outlet continued:
The planned transmission of the “rescissions” bill, previously relayed to POLITICO by two Republicans granted anonymity to describe the plans, comes after a long internal battle over how to formalize the cuts that have been made by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative. Top GOP officials started informing some House Republicans of the plans early Wednesday.
The $9.4 billion package set to land on Capitol Hill on Tuesday reflects only a fraction of the DOGE cuts, which have already fallen far short of Musk’s multitrillion-dollar aspirations. The two Republicans said it will target NPR and PBS, as well as foreign aid agencies that have already been gutted by the Trump administration.
Vought recently signaled that there may be more DOGE cuts heading to Congress in the near future, noting it would not all come in one bill, Breitbart News reported on Thursday.
“And, again, this has been proposed and we’ve talked about it, we want to make sure that Congress passes its first rescissions bill, including the DOGE, and we will send more if they pass it. And so, this is the first one, it’s foreign aid, USAID cuts, many of the waste and garbage that was funding, not only wasteful, but hurting our foreign policy, but also the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and NPR,” Vought explained during an interview on Fox Business…
This Is Why You Don’t F**K With Donald Trump

With assassination attempts fresh in the public mind, figures like Tulsi Gabbard and Trump himself weigh in. Is this just bad judgment, or something far more sinister?
Wife and 5 kids of Boulder firebomb terror suspect arrested by ICE in dramatic twist
Federal agents have arrested the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the Egyptian national filmed carrying out a firebomb attack that injured 12 during a June 1 demonstration calling to release Israeli hostages in Boulder, Colorado.
According to senior Department of Homeland Security officials, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained the family members following an investigation into Soliman’s immigration status and alleged terror planning. The children — all minors — were taken into federal custody alongside their mother in an early morning operation.
The FBI has called the attack an act of domestic terrorism, and ICE sources say further arrests may follow.

IDF downs Houthi missile from Yemen
The Israel Defense Forces on Monday night intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists, the military confirmed.
The attack triggered air-raid sirens across central Israel, including in Tel Aviv and the Jerusalem area, as well as in several southern communities. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The IDF’s Home Front Command had issued an early warning to residents, alerting them to the launch, via a push notification sent to their phones.
The Houthis claimed Ben-Gurion Airport was the intended target of the attack.
On Sunday evening, the IDF intercepted another missile launched by Houthi terrorists, triggering air raid sirens across central Israel and sending residents scrambling for shelter just hours before the start of Shavuot.
The Houthis have escalated their assaults on Israel in recent weeks, including a direct hit near Ben-Gurion Airport on May 4.
In response, the Israeli Air Force struck Sana’a International Airport last Wednesday, destroying the last operational aircraft used by the Houthis. The strike followed a previous IDF mission on May 6 that targeted the airport.

DR Congo: Rwanda-backed M23 Executed Civilians in Goma

The Rwanda-backed M23 armed group summarily executed at least 21 civilians and most likely many more in Goma, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, on February 22-23, 2025, Human Rights Watch said today.
The M23 has occupied Goma, the capital of North Kivu province, since January 27, 2025. Witnesses said that on the afternoon of February 22, at least three pickup trucks carrying dozens of M23 fighters arrived at various parts of Goma’s Kasika neighborhood.
They executed seven people west of Katindo military camp, a former Congolese army barracks. The bodies of 11 more people, including a boy, were found at a construction site near the camp. On February 23, the fighters rounded up people, including to forcibly recruit them, and killed three men as they tried to escape.
“The M23’s brutal control over Goma has created a climate of fear among those perceived to be allied to the Congolese government,,” said Clémentine de Montjoye, senior Great Lakes researcher at Human Rights Watch. “The mass killings don’t seem to be actions by rogue fighters, but rather the M23 leadership’s efforts to solidify their control by whatever means necessary.”
The absence of reports of fighting between the warring parties and the nature of the wounds indicate that M23 fighters deliberately executed those in their custody, which are war crimes, Human Rights Watch said…
Hungarian PM Orbán: “I Couldn’t Face My Conscience If I Allowed Ukraine to Join the EU”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has openly declared his determination to prevent Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, justifying his stance as a defense of Hungarian interests.
In a statement posted on Facebook on June 3, Orbán criticized Brussels’ bureaucracy, calling Ukraine’s membership “a good business deal amid a losing war.”
“Ukraine will drain every euro, forint, and zloty that we have spent strengthening European families, farmers, and industry,” he wrote.
Orbán asserted that in ten years, he would not be able to answer to his conscience, grandchildren, or country if he does not do everything now to “protect Hungary and the European Union from Brussels’ fever dream of Ukrainian accession.”
“We are responsible for Hungarian families, Hungarian entrepreneurs, and Hungarian farmers. In ten years, I could not face my conscience—or my grandchildren, or the country—if I didn’t do everything now to protect Hungary and the European Union from Brussels’ fever dream of Ukrainian accession,” he wrote….
Navalnaya Launches TV Channel to Fight Russian ‘Censorship’

The widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Reporters Without Borders on Tuesday praised the launch of a television channel that aims to bypass censorship in Russia and preserve the Kremlin critic’s legacy.
The channel, called Future of Russia, will be broadcast via a free-to-air satellite platform run by the press freedom advocacy group Reporters Without Borders, known by its French abbreviation RSF.
Navalny’s team hopes to get greater exposure and better reach with the help of the satellite broadcasts, which will feature content that the team produces for their YouTube channels in exile.
“I think it will be a long collaboration,” Yulia Navalnaya told reporters in a short statement in Paris.
She said Navalny’s team was doing “our best” to keep reaching Russians on YouTube, but the Kremlin has often tried to block the Western platform.
“There is almost full censorship in Russia, and under a dictatorship it is very difficult to spread information,” she said…
Ukraine’s SBU Claims It Attacked Crimean Bridge With Underwater Bomb
Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) said Tuesday that it used underwater explosives to attack the Crimean Bridge, which links mainland Russia to the annexed Black Sea peninsula.
“The SBU has carried out another bold and unique special operation, striking the Crimean Bridge for the third time [since Russia’s full-scale invasion] — this time from underwater,” the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The blast was said to have gone off just before 5 a.m. local time, causing damage to the base of the bridge’s pillars. The SBU claimed no civilians were harmed in the blast.
Russian officials have not commented on the bomb attack, but authorities in annexed Crimea temporarily restricted traffic along the bridge shortly after the SBU released its statement.
Earlier on Tuesday, pro-Kremlin Telegram channels said a Ukrainian drone crashed into the Crimean Bridge around 6 a.m. local time. Between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., traffic along the bridge had been temporarily restricted, authorities said without providing details….
Russia to increase gas supplies to European country

Moscow and Belgrade are negotiating a long-term deal for increased gas deliveries to Serbia after the current contract expires in September, the Russian Embassy in Belgrade has told Izvestia.
The landlocked Balkan country relies heavily on Russian energy supplies, and has refused to support Western sanctions on Moscow over the Ukraine conflict.
The existing agreement, which allows Belgrade to buy gas at a favorable price, was recently extended through September, ensuring continued deliveries amid ongoing negotiations for a long-term contract.
“Negotiations on the continuation of Russian gas supplies to Serbia after this date are underway,” the embassy told the news outlet on Monday.
Under the terms of the extension, Gazprom will supply Serbia with 6.1 million cubic meters of gas per day at a price of €290 per 1,000 cubic meters. The rate is below the current European average of around €360, according to Dusan Bajatovic, the CEO of Srbijagas, Serbia’s state-owned gas importer and distributor.
Serbian Ambassador to Russia Momcilo Babic also confirmed that the new supply contract is being discussed, adding that boosting gas deliveries was agreed upon at a meeting in Moscow between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 9. Vucic visited the Russian capital last month to attend the Victory Day celebrations.
”This question was resolved at the meeting of the two presidents,” he was quoted as saying…
Berlin court bars police from turning immigrants away at border

A Berlin court has barred German border police from rejecting asylum seekers arriving from neighboring EU countries without reviewing their claims. The ruling deals a blow to Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent efforts to reduce asylum-related land migration.
Last month, shortly after Merz took office, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt introduced a policy under which undocumented migrants arriving at land borders were to be turned back – unless they are unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, or otherwise vulnerable individuals.
The move aimed to fulfill Merz’s campaign promise to curb migration amid heightened public concern following a series of high-profile crimes involving asylum seekers.
Court ruled against the policy. The decision came in response to a legal challenge brought by three Somali nationals who tried to enter Germany last month but were returned to Poland without any examination of their claims.
The court found Dobrindt’s policy to be unlawful under the Dublin Regulation, which governs how EU member states handle asylum applications. The rules require that asylum seekers apply in the first EU country they enter. If they later apply in another member state, such as Germany, that country can seek to transfer them back to the original state. …

Armed Mom Shoots Sex Offender On Top Of 12-Year-Old Daughters In Hotel
This is the kind of story that anti-gunners love to ignore because it destroys their entire narrative.
According to police and court documents, a mother in Indiana acted in defense of her 12-year-old daughter after discovering a man—identified as Bruce Pierce, who has multiple prior child molestation convictions—allegedly attempting to assault the child in a hotel room.
Authorities say the man was armed, and the mother used her legally owned firearm to stop the attack.
