AI finds conservative women more attractive and happier in photos

Published in the Nature-owned journal Scientific Reports in March, the research found AI can predict a person’s political ideology with 61% accuracy by analyzing just one headshot.
The scientists inputted about 3,200 publicly submitted photos of political candidates who ran in the 2017 Danish municipal election into Microsoft Azure’s Face API tool to assess the person’s emotional state.
The analysis found 80% of the faces displayed a happy expression, while 19% read as neutral.
“For females (though not males), high attractiveness scores were found among those the model identified as likely to be conservative,” read the findings. “These results are credible given that previous research using human raters has also highlighted a link between attractiveness and conservatism.”
FBI agents reportedly apologize for Trump-Russia investigation

He wrote in his report that an “objective and honest assessment” of the evidence, in possession at the launch of the investigation, “should have caused the FBI to question not only the predication for Crossfire Hurricane, but also to reflect on whether the FBI was being manipulated for political or other purposes.”
The report detailed the way the FBI handled similar controversies related to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, specifically in the speed and carelessness of the beginning of Trump’s Russia investigation.
“The speed and manner in which the FBI opened and investigated Crossfire Hurricane during the presidential election season based on raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence also reflected a noticeable departure from how it approached prior matters involving possible attempted foreign election interference plans aimed at the Clinton campaign,” Durham wrote in the report.
Federal Trade Commission sues Amazon for ‘deceptive’ tactics

The Federal Trade Commission’s partially-redacted complaint alleges the company tricked millions of people into enrolling in Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime, a $139 annual subscription service that has fueled the company’s growth and made it part of many Americans daily routines.
“Amazon tricked and trapped people into recurring subscriptions without their consent, not only frustrating users but also costing them significant money,” Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan said in a statement. “These manipulative tactics harm consumers and law-abiding businesses alike.”
The complaint alleges Amazon “used manipulative, coercive, or deceptive user-interface designs known as ‘dark patterns’ to trick consumers into enrolling in automatically-renewing Prime subscriptions.” It further alleges the company made it difficult to cancel Prime.

12-year-old girl’s alleged rape by boy in trans-inclusive bathroom discovered after mother read her diary: ‘I was raped. F***ing kill me’

“I was raped. I was raped. I was raped. F***ing kill me,” the girl, who is being referred to as Ray, reportedly wrote in her diary.
The discovery of the passage by her mother, being referred to as Maggie, explained the shift in mood and mental health that her daughter had inexplicably been going through.
Months after the alleged incident, parents pressed the girl about the diary entry, and the young girl admitted that the attack took place.
The family took the girl in for a physical exam and began questioning the school. The mother reportedly concluded that the alleged horrific act was only made possible because the school embraced gender ideology.
Ex-CNN producer sentenced to 19.5 years after using 9-year-old in ‘sado-masochistic activity‘

The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Griffin, a former Chris Cuomo colleague, in 2021 on three counts of using interstate commerce to entice minors into unlawful sexual activity, but two of the counts were dropped with his plea deal in December.
Griffin’s plan culminated in 2020 when he paid for a mother who he met online and her 9-year-old daughter to fly to Boston, where he picked them up and brought them to his Vermont home, prosecutors said.
“While in Vermont, Griffin engaged in what he considered to be sexual training of the child.
This ‘training’ included Griffin forcing the child to perform a sex act with him and using the child to engage in bondage and sado-masochistic activity,” the Justice Department said

Elon Musk deems LGBT activists’ terms ‘cisgender’ and ‘cis’ to be slurs on Twitter

Esses eventually responded, noting he had received a “slew of messages from trans activists calling me ‘cissy’ and telling me that I am ‘cis’ ‘whether or not I like it,'” adding, “Just imagine if the roles were reversed.”
Early Wednesday morning, Musk laid down the law, writing,
“Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words ‘cis’ or ‘cisgender’ are considered slurs on this platform.”
Musk’s prohibition on the abusive use of the term on Twitter was widely celebrated. His post had received over 147,000 likes at the time of publication.
Esses thanked Musk for “standing up for reality.”
AI tech identifies suicide risk in military veterans before it’s too late: ‘Flipping the model’

As the mental health of U.S. military veterans remains a major concern among many people in our society, new technology could become a lifesaver.
An AI platform developed by ClearForce, a tech company in Vienna, Virginia, aims to identify the risk of suicide among veterans before it’s too late.
A former Marine of 30 years, Hudson spent time working in sexual assault prevention and with his command’s behavioral suicide team before completing his service.
The veteran joined ClearForce’s efforts to identify “insider risk and insider threat” through technology that “allows organizations to become aware of individuals who are struggling” in the workplace, including with harassment and mental health, he said.

California Man Convicted of Killing Two Women, Released Same Day

(Family photo)
A California man who was convicted of killing a mother and daughter Tuesday was released from custody the same day, after a jury convicted him of involuntary manslaughter rather than murder, and he was given credit for time served.
Unlike many cases of lenient justice, this was not the result of prosecutorial discretion, or a George Soros-backed district attorney, but rather state laws giving discretion to juries in capital cases, and defining voluntary intoxication as a defense to murder.
The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday on the bizarre outcome in Ventura County, north of Los Angeles:
Gov. Newsom’s No-Bid Covid Contract with McKinsey & Co. Continues

While California continues to have a wicked Fentanyl crisis, the state continues to work with McKinsey & Company, despite their past work with Purdue Pharma: California Health & Human Services, the California DMV and Dept. of Social Services continue to work with McKinsey, according to verified sources.
During the Covid lockdowns, California Governor Gavin Newsom granted McKinsey a no-bid contract to push out vaccines, even though state and local agencies have the budgets and staff for disseminating critical public information.
Curiously, this was going on while Newsom simultaneously fought off his recall election.

Israel eliminates terror cell with drone strike in West Bank’s Jenin

The Israeli military (IDF) and the Shin Bet domestic security agency issued a joint statement confirming the attack on a car with three people inside.

“A short while ago, following precise intelligence of the Shin Bet, IDF soldiers identified a terrorist cell inside a suspicious vehicle, after the cell carried out a shooting near the town of Jalamah,” the statement said.
“The terrorist cell carried out a number of shooting attacks against settlements throughout Judea and Samaria lately. After identifying the terrorist cell, an IDF drone fired toward the cell and thwarted them,” it added.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Putin boasts of ‘nuclear triad’ in speech to graduates; Russians in Crimea ‘told to flee’

Vladimir Putin has told graduates of military academies that Russia’s new generation of intercontinental ballistic missiles will soon be deployed for combat duty.
The “biggest blow” of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is yet to come, according to its defence ministry.
Deputy defence minister Hanna Malyar said it was proving “difficult” to advance against Russian defences, but that liberating territory was not the only objective.
“It is not necessary” to measure success “exclusively by settlements and kilometers traveled because there are much more criteria for the effectiveness of military operations”, she said.

Russia claims to have shot down three drones outside Moscow, calls it an attack by Ukraine

Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov on Wednesday said that the Russian forces brought down two drones outside the capital city as they approached a local military unit warehouse, which they say was Ukraine’s latest attempt to strike targets inside Russia during the initial phase of Kyiv’s recent counteroffensive.
The third drone’s wreckage was found discovered around 20 kilometres (12 miles) away from the site where the drones crashed, reported Russian media. No casualties or damage were reported in the alleged drone attack.
As per reports, many drones have flown deep into Russia on several occasions. In February, a UJ-22 crashed 100 kilometres (60 miles) away from Moscow, after which the Russian capital has allegedly been repeatedly approached by Ukrainian drones.
Explosion hits a building in Paris, injuring 16. Police are trying to determine the cause

A strong explosion hit a building in Paris’ Left Bank on Wednesday, leaving at least 16 injured and igniting a fire that sent smoke soaring over city monuments and prompted the evacuation of surrounding buildings, police said. The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
The facade of a building in the 5th arrondissement, or district, collapsed and emergency services were working to determine if anyone was still inside, a Paris police official said. The explosion hit near the historic Val de Grace military hospital.
Paris police chief Laurent Nunez told reporters there were 16 people injured, including seven in “emergency condition.” The fire was contained but not extinguished, he said.
Hong Kong construction workers’ union protests against move to import thousands of overseas workers

A union representing building workers has staged a protest outside Hong Kong’s government headquarters against a move to import up to 20,000 foreign workers to ease shortages in the construction and transport sectors.
The unionists complained that authorities had bypassed the Labour Advisory Board, which is tasked with vetting applications to bring in overseas workers to ensure Hong Kong workers are first in line for positions.
The government announced last Tuesday a plan to import around 20,000 workers, up to 12,000 of whom would be employed in the construction industry, with priority given to manning large-scale public projects.
Around 12 representatives from the Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union protested on Tuesday outside government headquarters, holding banners and placards calling for local workers to be protected. They handed in a petition.

“Palestine firmly opposes interference in China’s internal affairs under the pretext of Xinjiang-related issues,” it read.
The statement also declared the Palestinian Authority’s support for China in regards to Taiwan and Hong Kong, recognizing Xi’s government as the “only legal government representing the whole of China.”

American missile defense system in South Korea cleared for full deployment despite China’s outrage: report

Last week, South Korea’s defense and environmental ministries conducted a review that cleared the way for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The U.S. Department of Defense says THAAD “gives the Ballistic Missile Defense System a globally transportable, rapidly deployable ability to intercept and destroy ballistic missiles inside or outside the atmosphere during their final, or terminal, phase of flight.”
The move, which came amid a series of North Korea weapons and ballistic missile tests, drew outrage from China and Russia, which condemned a potential deployment of THAAD as national security threats given the capability of the American system’s radar can stretch to both communist nations.

Rep. Jordan: Durham Report Won’t Restrain Dems

No matter what special counsel John Durham has found about the investigation of former President Donald Trump in his first campaign, Democrats will continue to go after Trump, House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan said Wednesday, while opening the Capitol Hill hearing for testimony from Durham.
“The Democrats will say, ‘We don’t care. It doesn’t matter. We’re never going to stop going after President Trump,'” Jordan said.
Jordan pointed out Trump’s federal indictment on charges in connection with the classified documents being kept at his home, and said that “this shouldn’t surprise us.”
Durham Calls Russia Origins Probe Findings ‘Sobering’

Such issues, left unaddressed, “could result in significant national security risks and further erode the public’s faith and confidence in our justice system,” said Durham.
“As we said in the report, our findings were sobering, and I tell you, having spent 40 years-plus as a federal prosecutor, they were particularly sobering to me and a number of my colleagues who present decades in the FBI themselves.”
However, he said that the problems identified in the report are not easily fixed “overnight” and “cannot be addressed solely by enhancing training or additional policy requirements,” but “what is required is accountability, both in terms of the standards to which our law enforcement personnel hold themselves and in the consequences they face for violation of laws and policies of relevance.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert Will Force Biden Impeachment Vote

Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert announced Tuesday evening that she would be bringing articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden in a privileged motion, forcing a vote from every member of Congress.
Boebert further argued in the resolution that Biden has “purposefully and knowingly” released more than 2,000,000 undocumented migrants into the interior of the United States “without the intention or ability to ensure that they appear in immigration court to face asylum or deportation proceedings.”
By failing to uphold the rule of law, Boebert argued, Biden has neglected his duties and violated his oath to the Constitution. Such conduct, Boebert alleged, warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to serve in any other capacity for the government.

Legal experts DEBATE: Is Donald Trump in ACTUAL DANGER?
Donald Trump was indicted on 37 federal counts earlier this month, becoming the first U.S. president to face such charges.
The case centers around Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents, which were found at his Mar-a-Lago home. And even though entire situation screams of partisan politics,
Trump will likely still have to face the court. So, is he in REAL legal danger? Are these charges ACTUALLY serious? Or is the far-left’s case against him as weak as their current commander-in-chief?
