California study finds suicide risk doubles after male-to-female surgeries

The study, published in the Journal of Urology, studied 859 Californians who underwent a vaginoplasty (male-to-female gender surgery), and 357 who underwent phalloplasty (female-to-male surgery) for two years before and after their surgeries.
Of those who underwent gender affirmation surgery, a similar proportion of vaginoplasty and phalloplasty recipients experienced at least one psychiatric encounter, coming in at 22.2% and 20.7% respectively.
However, suicide rates were markedly higher among vaginoplasty than phalloplasty patients after their surgeries; vaginoplasty suicide rates more than doubled from 1.5% to 3.3%, whereas phalloplasty suicide rates remained stable at 0.8% before and after surgery.
Medi-Cal, the state’s taxpayer-supported public health system, includes hormonal and surgical gender transitions for beneficiaries, which expanded on January 1 to include illegal immigrants. Covered benefits include “mental and behavioral health services”, “hormone therapy”, and “a variety of surgical procedures that bring primary and secondary gender characteristics into conformity with the individual’s identified gender, including ancillary services, such as hair removal, incident to those services.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill last year that would have required judges to consider parents’ support for a child’s gender affirmation or identity in child custody cases.
Oversight Committee to investigate China’s influence on U.S. government, economy

There have been several high-profile examples of Chinese spying and infiltration success, from the Chinese spy balloon that covered the country from coast to coast last year to ongoing cyber attacks to the significant purchase of U.S. farmland by China, including near U.S. military installations.
“Without firing a single bullet, the Chinese Communist Party is waging war against the U.S. by targeting, influencing, and infiltrating every economic sector and community in America,” Comer said. “We know that this coordinated influence and infiltration campaign by the CCP threatens U.S. military readiness, the technology sector, financial markets, agriculture industry, education systems, and intellectual property. The lives and security of all Americans are affected.”
Comer sent letters to the Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Agency for Global Media, the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the National Science Foundation.
He demanded answers about how Chinese Communist Party actors may be infiltrating and taking advantage of their respective organizations and what is being done to stop it.
“The Committee is conducting oversight of the federal government’s work to protect the American people from CCP ‘political warfare’ and nefarious influence operations,” Comer said.

HHS Secretary Refuses To Explain Why ‘Hardworking Americans’ Should Pay For Illegals’ Healthcare

Barrasso detailed how cities are being overwhelmed by illegal immigrants draining their resources and putting a massive strain on health funds and infrastructure, noting Denver Health saw more than 20,000 illegally present foreigners seeking medical care in 2023. Denver Health is “at a critical, critical point” as costs pile up, CEO Donna Lynne said, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
“The federal government doesn’t pay for the health care of every legal U.S. citizen,” Barrasso shot back. “It seems like it’s in the position now of having to do it all for these illegal immigrants. Why should the American citizen be forced to pay for illegal migrants to receive this same care for free? Because that’s what’s happening.”
Becerra claimed he does not “know how particular states operate their healthcare systems” but that when Medicare or Medicaid approaches HHS “we’re ready to try to be responsible.

Biden Slaps More Sanctions on Israel While Giving $10 Billion Sanctions Waiver to Iran

The sanctions are a virtual gift to the anti-Israel and antisemitic “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement, at a time when Biden is trying to shore up flagging Arab- and Muslim-American support. The news also came on the same day that the Biden Administration sent senior White House officials to meet with Palestinian-Americans in Chicago.
The sanctions also came a day after the Biden Administration renewed a sanctions waiver on Iran that will allow the regime to gain access to up to $10 billion in assets.
The waiver is aimed at encouraging diplomacy, as Iran funds attacks on Israel, as Iranian-backed militias attack U.S. troops elsewhere in the region, and as the Iranian-backed Houthis are continuing their attacks on international shipping and the U.S. Navy in the Red Sea, disrupting the global economy.

Americans basic needs eat up more household budgets under Biden

The recent inflation data presents a concerning picture of the American economy under President Joe Biden. Key basic necessities such as food, shelter, and energy are consuming a larger portion of household budgets, reflecting the broader economic challenges faced by the nation.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a crucial measure of inflation, has risen 3.2% over the past year, with a significant increase in February alone. This trend is alarming, particularly in areas like housing and energy costs.
The report highlights a dual impact on American households: not only are prices for essential items like shelter and gasoline increasing, but real wages are also declining, further straining budgets.
The CPI for shelter, a major component of household expenditure, along with gasoline and electricity prices, have seen substantial hikes. These increases account for a sizeable portion of the overall inflation spike.
