Squatters arrested after daughters locked up, forced to eat mattress to survive: police

Grabowski and Russel were squatting in the “house of horrors” at New York City Housing Authority’s Mitchel Houses with Grabowski’s daughters, ages 4 and 5.
“They illegally occupied the apartment and left the children alone without food or clothing,” she added.
When first arriving to the apartment, police officers noticed a bedroom door knob was tied with “ropelike cord” to a nearby closet door, effectively locking the bedroom from the outside. Inside, they found the two girls naked, bruised and sitting on a dirty “sponge mattress” on the floor, the Bronx Times reported.
Police found the apartment was littered with urine, feces and dirty diapers – including in the room where the girls were allegedly locked away. Clark’s office said the apartment appeared to lack basic amenities such as food or clothing.
Woman throws Molotov cocktail inside CA bank after waiting in line for ‘too long,’ sentenced to 2 years

Millet entered a Bank of America branch in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance in September 2021. She spoke to the bank manager and demanded to be helped by another teller “because she believed she had been waiting in line for too long,” the statement said.
Told no other tellers were available, Millet swore and threatened to blow up the bank, left, then returned a few minutes later with a Molotov cocktail that she hurled into the middle of the bank, prosecutors said.
About two months later, Millet was arrested in Georgia after crashing a stolen U-Haul van during a law enforcement chase, the U.S. attorney’s office said, citing court documents.
Georgia teen shoots at deputy during high-speed chase, dashcam video shows

When the deputy exited his vehicle to speak with the driver, the suspect sped off.
During the high-speed pursuit, the suspect fired a handgun five times out the driver-side window toward the deputy, striking his patrol vehicle, officials said.
The deputy’s dashcam video show the pickup truck swerving on the road before the suspect opens fire.
“We don’t really know what motivated [the suspect], but we do know when we interviewed him, he was intending to harm the deputy, and that was very evident in the video,” Ashley Hulsey, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office communication’s director, told FOX5 Atlanta.
Police save 2-year-old allegedly being drowned in bathtub by mother with only seconds to spare

A 35-year-old mother in Michigan was arrested over the weekend after police allegedly caught her in the act of attempting to drown her 2-year-old daughter in her bathtub in a horrific incident that was captured on police body camera footage.
Edward-Ricks, a mother of four kids, is also accused of stabbing the 2-year-old girl as well as her 4-year-old son and making both drink some kind of toxic cleaning liquid.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders entered the home and “heard a commotion” coming from behind a locked door to the downstairs bathroom in the residence.
“An ADPS officer kicked the door open and found a 35-year-old woman holding a two-year-old under the water in the bathtub,” the release states.

Former Head Of DOJ Tax Division Urges Federal Judge To ‘Trash’ Hunter Biden Plea Deal

Eileen O’Connor, who ran the DOJ tax division from 2001 to 2007, published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal Wednesday outlining why the plea agreement Hunter Biden struck with the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office ought to be dismissed.
O’Connor summarized the blockbuster revelations from a pair of whistleblowers within the Internal Revenue Service who came forward with allegations of DOJ interference in their criminal tax probe investigating Hunter Biden.
“The Justice Department’s alleged foot-dragging and refusal to permit IRS special agents to follow the evidence allowed the statutes of limitations for 2014 and 2015 to expire, notwithstanding that Mr. Biden’s defense counsel had, according to [whistleblower Gary] Shapley, agreed to more than one extension,” O’Connor wrote. “Far worse, Mr. Garland’s failure to designate Mr. Weiss a special counsel essentially guaranteed that Mr. Biden wouldn’t be prosecuted for any of his alleged tax crimes.”
Tucker Carlson: ‘Wars for Democracy Always Cancel Democracy in the Process’

In an episode titled “Irony Alert: the war for democracy enables dictatorship,” Carlson played several clips of politicians like Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX), who claimed supporting Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine in the fight against Russia is about upholding “democracy.”
“As Pelosi puts it, the Ukrainian people are fighting the fight for their democracy, and for ours as well. That’s right for ours as well. Without Ukrainian democracy, in other words, we can have no democracy here,” Carlson said. “If the Ukrainians aren’t free, neither are we. We must make sure they can vote in Kyiv. So we can continue to vote in Kansas City.”
However, Carlson pointed out that Zelensky had just announced elections would only be held in his county if they won the war against Russia.
Donald Trump Files Defamation Lawsuit Against E. Jean Carroll Over Bogus Rape Claim

Turning the tables on his accuser, former President Donald Trump has hit back at E. Jean Carroll with a defamation lawsuit, saying she falsely accused him of rape. This countersuit comes after a civil jury found him “guilty of sexual abuse and defamation,” but not rape, in May.
Filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Trump’s counterclaim cites Carroll’s post-verdict comments on CNN.
He seeks a retraction as well as compensatory and punitive damages yet to be specified, according to The Guardian.
Father charged with murder for killing his 3-week-old daughter with crossbow was found hiding in woods, police say

Investigators arrived on the scene and soon learned that Proefriedt had “gotten into an argument with his wife and fired a crossbow at her while she was holding their 3-week-old daughter,” police said in a press release.
“The broadhead crossbow bolt hit the child in the upper torso, exiting near the armpit before striking the woman in the chest,” police said.
The defendant then allegedly removed the bolt and tried to prevent his wife from calling 911 before fleeing the scene in a red 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck, according to police. Proefriedt was not at the home when responding officers arrived.
The defendant is facing charges including second-degree murder, attempted murder in the second degree and criminal contempt in the first degree.
The criminal contempt charge is for violating an order of protection, according to police.
“Proefriedt has a history of domestic incidents with the victim and an active Stay Away Order of Protection in place,” police said.
Texas man sentenced to 45 years in prison for continuous sexual abuse of child

Benny James Phennel, 38, was known by the female victim and had ongoing access to her, according to a press release from the office of Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis.
Fennel was found guilty of sexually abusing the victim for two years, starting when she was just 10 years old.
Out of concern that another child was going to spend the night with Phennel, the victim told family members about the abuse she endured from the suspect.
The victim’s family confronted Phennel about the abuse, and he admitted that he “messed around” with the victim, the DA’s office said.
Biden admin to send $500 MILLION more in military aid to Ukraine

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Biden administration is delivering a new security assistance package to Ukraine, marking yet another gift among many delivered to the eastern European nation, courtesy of the US taxpayer.
At least $196 billion has reportedly been spent by the US government in aid to Ukraine as of February 2023.
Dalton noted the package features essential items to support Ukraine’s counter-offensive strategy, such as “mine clearing equipment, armored vehicles and artillery rounds.”
Many believe that the Biden administration is secretly worried about its efforts not ultimately carrying Ukraine over the finish line, as was suggested in a recent Politico report.

Revenge killing for deadly MS-13 prison riot sparks Honduras to launch extreme gang crackdown: report

“We do not rule out these crimes could be some sort of revenge for what happened in the women’s prison,” Honduran national police commissioner Miguel Pérez Suazo said.
The pool hall shooting, reportedly located in the city of Choloma on Barrio 18 gang territory, killed 11 people after a riot at a women’s prison in Tamara, which killed 46 inmates.
Honduran President Xiomara Castro decried the riot as “monstrous murder,” which she blamed on street gangs.
Yuri Mora, the spokesman for Honduras’ national police investigation agency, said that 26 inmates had burned to death, while the remainder died from gunshot wounds or stabbings. At least seven inmates received treatment at a hospital in the capital, with most of them dying later in the day.
Pérez Suazo noted that the shooting could have also been “some type of revenge by criminals against civilians.” The riot started after rival gangs Barrio 18 and MS-13 clashed inside the facility early Tuesday morning, with attackers having smuggled in deadly weapons to the prison in order to maximize the carnage.
Netherlands euthanizing autistic and intellectually handicapped people, researcher finds

Five individuals under the age of 30, who cited autism as a factor in their decision to seek legal euthanasia, are among the cases reviewed by specialists at the U.K.’s Kingston University.
“Factors directly associated with intellectual disability and/or ASD were the sole cause of suffering described in 21% of cases and a major contributing factor in a further 42% of cases,” Kingston University’s report on the issue found.
The study noted that in many cases, doctors determined there was “no prospect of improvement” for intellectually challenged individuals because there is no treatment for their handicap.
“Reasons for the EAS [euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide] request included social isolation and loneliness (77%), lack of resilience or coping strategies (56%), lack of flexibility (rigid thinking or difficulty adapting to change) (44%) and oversensitivity to stimuli (26%).
In one-third of cases, physicians noted there was ‘no prospect of improvement’ as ASD and intellectual disability are not treatable,” the study reads.

Open Borders Germany Sees Net Migration Hit Record High of 1.5 Million

According to Germany’s official statistician, Destatis, 2.67 million foreigners migrated to the country in 2022, while 1.2 million left, resulting in a record high net migration of 1.46 million people.
The number of people who entered the country was nearly double over the previous year, when 1.32 million migrants arrived compared to 994,000 people leaving Germany, public broadcaster Deutsche Welle reported.
Ukrainian refugees were not the only drivers of the increase in Germany, however, with numbers of migrants arriving from Afghanistan, Turkey, and Syria also surging.
There was also a slight increase in migration from other EU nations, mainly from Bulgaria, Poland, and Romania.

France Deploys 2,000 Police After Youth Riots Over Shot Teen

A major police deployment to French cities is planned for this evening, with 2,000 extra officers called out, after a night of violence apparently triggered by the death of a teenager who tried to escape a traffic stop. Violence spread to several French cities and saw a town hall office burnt down.
17-Year-old ‘Naël’ was shot dead by police on Tuesday morning after he attempted to flee a traffic stop in Nanterre, a Paris suburb. Per a report in French newspaper Le Figaro police attempted to pull over a delivery driver in a yellow Mercedes breaking road rules, but the suspect refused to comply, started his engine, and tried to drive away, despite an officer having his sidearm barrel pressed against the car windscreen.
Anger over the outcome of the traffic stop emerged quickly in the Nanterre, which is home to a handful of so-called Zone Urbaine Sensible, or ZUS, a French government marker which is often rendered in English as a ‘No Go Zone’.

81 Million Votes My A** – Americans Agree and Have Lost All Faith in the Electoral System
Most voters are worried that next year’s presidential election could be affected by cheating, and nearly half agree with a popular song challenging the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s election in 2024.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 66% of Likely U.S. Voters are concerned that the outcome of the 2024 presidential election will be affected by cheating, including 40% who are Very Concerned.
Thirty-two percent (32%) aren’t concerned about cheating in next year’s election, including 15% who are Not At All Concerned.
Retirement talk surrounding Thomas, Alito raises stakes for 2024 election

Lawmakers are looking ahead to the 2024 election as a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of the Supreme Court because of the possibility that conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, 75, and Samuel Alito, 73, could retire.
Democrats are worried that if Biden loses and the GOP wins the Senate majority, it could allow a GOP president to replace both men with younger conservatives who could rule far into the future.
“Probably the next president will have a chance to appoint another member of the court,” said Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I expect that you’d see, over the course between now and the end of the next [presidential] term, probably another retirement or two.”
The Supreme Court’s importance to the balance of political power in the United States was underscored once again Tuesday, when a 6-3 majority ruled to reject a legal theory that would have given state legislatures nearly unlimited power to set rules for federal elections, without judicial restraint.

Do Descendants of All Slaves Deserve Reparations?
Who should qualify for slavery reparations?
While much of the debate has been centered on whether black Americans should receive reparations for ancestral slavery, up to 1.25 million Europeans were captured and enslaved in North Africa and the Ottoman Empire between the 16th and 19th centuries.
Aldo travels to UCLA to ask students if they support reparations for descendants of all slaves or just select groups. The answers may surprise you.
