Private sector job growth cools sharply in September to slowest pace since 2021: ADP

Hiring by U.S. companies slowed more than expected in September, pointing to a labor market that is starting to cool in the face of higher interest rates, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday morning.

Companies added 89,000 jobs last month, below the 153,000 gain that economists surveyed by Refinitiv predicted. That is also much lower than the revised 180,000 increase recorded in August.

It marked the worst month for job creation since January 2021.

“We are seeing a steepening decline in jobs this month,” said Nela Richardson, ADP…

Federal court says executive branch agencies likely violated 1A, barred from coercing social media

“Ultimately, we find the district court did not err in determining that several officials—namely the White House, the Surgeon General, the CDC, the FBI, and CISA—likely coerced or significantly encouraged social-media platforms to moderate content, rendering those decisions state actions. In doing so, the officials likely violated the First Amendment,” the court said in its decision, which came after the defendants appealed an order issued earlier this summer by Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump appointee for a Louisiana federal court.

The court additionally found that “CISA was the ‘primary facilitator’ of the FBI’s interactions with the social-media platforms and worked in close coordination with the FBI to push the platforms to change their moderation policies to cover ‘hack-and-leak’ content.”

The court concluded: “CISA used its frequent interactions with social media platforms to push them to adopt more restrictive policies on censoring election-related speech. … Thus, CISA likely significantly encouraged the platforms’ content-moderation decisions and thereby violated the First Amendment.”

Exclusive: Donald Trump Followers Targeted by FBI as 2024 Election Nears

Is the FBI weaponizing January 6? Pro-Trump protesters gather in front of the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 in Washington, DC.JON CHERRY/GETTY

The federal government believes that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump‘s army of MAGA followers.

Newsweek spoke to over a dozen current or former government officials who specialize in terrorism in a three-month investigation to understand the current domestic-security landscape and to evaluate what President Joe Biden‘s administration is doing about what it calls domestic terrorism.

Newsweek has also reviewed secret FBI and Department of Homeland Security data that track incidents, threats, investigations and cases to try to build a better picture.

It was a subtle change, little noticed, but a gigantic departure for the Bureau.

Trump and his army of supporters were acknowledged as a distinct category of domestic violent extremists, even as the FBI was saying publicly that political views were never part of its criteria to investigate or prevent domestic terrorism.

Where the FBI sees threats is also plain from the way it categorizes them—a system which on the surface is designed to appear nonpartisan.

This shifted subtly days after the events of January 6 when it comes to what the Bureau calls AGAAVE.

Though Trump and MAGA are never mentioned in the official description of AGAAVE-Other, government insiders acknowledge that it applies to political violence ascribed to the former president’s supporters.

The revelations that some Trump supporters are being specifically targeted by the FBI fits with accusations from among them that the Bureau has them in its sights and is the political tool of a repressive deep state in Washington, D.C., bent on preserving the hold of the political establishment at the cost of democracy.

Pelosi’s Head of Security Likely PERJURED Himself With Jan 6 LIE | Blaze Media EXCLUSIVE

How much of the January 6th “evidence” that our justice system used to convict Americans has been a lie?

Investigative reporter Steve Baker has done a year-long deep dive into the CCTV footage and REAL facts of Jan. 6 and has released his first report with Blaze Media.

Baker joins Glenn to reveal the evidence that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s head of security, U.S. Capitol Police Special Agent David Lazarus, gave false testimony about his whereabouts during a key encounter with members of the Oath Keepers.

If this false testimony led to the imprisonment of Americans, what else have we been lied to about?

Detectives with the San Bernardino Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Specialized Crime Unit served a search warrant at Steven Frasher’s residence in Redlands, California.

The 62-year-old was investigated after authorities received a tip that he downloaded illicit child pornography images and saved them in an online storage account, according to police.

“Through further investigation, the suspect was found to have numerous images of Child Sexual Abuse Material on his electronic devices,” the caption for the video reads. “The suspect was arrested for several felony charges, and the digital evidence was recovered.”

West Virginia man, woman arrested after teens found locked in shed

“Deputies had to force entry into the barn where they located a juvenile male and juvenile female locked inside an approximate 20×14 foot room,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “The children had no means to exit the barn on their own, no running water, no bathroom facilities, and were obviously deprived of adequate hygenic care and food.”

The teen girl told deputies they were last given food at approximately 6 a.m. Monday morning and had been locked inside the shed since. She also said this was a regular occurrence for the siblings and that they were not allowed inside the house, per WSAZ.

Another small child was found locked inside the house. Deputies found the child in “an unprotected loft, approximately 15 feet high,” the sheriff’s office said.

Whitefeather reportedly admitted to deputies that the children were left in the shed and allegedly said “they like it.”

Tupac Shakur murder suspect makes first appearance in Las Vegas court

Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ arraignment was delayed until Oct. 19.

Police say Davis was the mastermind behind the fatal shooting. He was indicted on the charge of open murder with use of a deadly weapon along with a gang enhancement, prosecutors first revealed during a press conference Friday.

The charges were revealed hours after Davis, 60, was arrested while on a walk near his home.

Grand jurors also voted to add sentencing enhancements for the use of a deadly weapon and alleged gang activity. If Davis is convicted, that could add decades to his sentence.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo said a grand jury had been seated in the case for “several months.” The district attorney described Davis as the “on-ground, on-site commander” who “ordered the death” of Shakur.

’45 or more’ kids in DC routinely steal from CVS, then ‘stomp on’ food and beverages as shelves remain empty

“Staff at CVS have been alerted that thieves are aware of when new shipments come in and that’s when they target the store,” the outlet added.

Fox 5 was told that “street vendors are allegedly paying people to go in and steal stuff so they can resell it.”

Fox 5 also reported that it noticed “street vendors selling tooth brushes, men and women body wash, car fresheners, as well as laundry and cleaning supplies, which are some of the same items no longer available at CVS.

However, there is no direct evidence at this time that it did come from the store.”

7K Migrants Apprehended in 4 Days in Texas Border Sector

U.S. Border Patrol/Rio Grande Valley Sector

Over the weekend, RGV agents apprehended 3,904 migrants, Chavez reported. The sector classified an additional 114 migrants as known got-aways.

While the world’s attention remains focused on the spike in migrant crossings in Eagle Pass, the media is paying little attention to a very close number of apprehensions in the Rio Grande Valley.

In September, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended nearly 48,000 migrants. Rio Grand Valley Sector agents apprehended more than 45,000 migrants in September, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.

The difference in media focus could be the availability of dramatic photo ops in Eagle Pass where most of the migrants are crossing in a very small area.

The highly visible crossings and the detention of migrants in the open air under the international bridge attracted a broad swath of media outlets.

Iranian girl, 16, beaten into coma by morality police in Tehran over hijab, human rights group claims

Armita Garawand, 16, is seen in a hospital bed where she is currently in a coma, according to the human rights group. (Hengaw Organization for Human Rights)

“Her present condition is reported to be critical,” Hengaw told Fox News in a statement. “After two days, she remains in a coma in the ICU. Government security forces have established a secure environment at Fajr Hospital, denying access to visitors, including her family members. According to our latest information, Iranian authorities have confiscated the mobile phones of Armita’s family members following the publication of a photograph of her in a coma.”

The edited footage was published on state-run media and does not show what happened inside the train. The footage instead shows only the teen walking onto the train and cuts to her apparent friends carrying her out. It was unclear if she was wearing a head covering in the footage.

Russia is currently experiencing a cultural shift in its attitudes toward abortion.

Previously rather liberal on the issue, the country’s leadership and conservative communities have seized the current climate to propagate anti-abortion regulations.

He was ordered to pay legal fees and fines totaling thousands of Swiss francs (dollars) in addition to the time behind bars.

Soral lashed out at Catherine Macherel, a journalist for Swiss newspapers Tribune de Geneve and 24 Heures, in a Facebook video two years ago. He called her a “fat lesbian” and said Macherel’s work as a “queer activist” meant she was “unhinged,” according to Swiss public broadcaster RTS.

Hong Kong universities to step up oversight of orientation camps following incidents of alleged sexual assault

The City University of Hong Kong. Photo: Kyle Lam/HKFP.

Hong Kong’s universities will review extracurricular orientation activities and implement measures aimed at enhancing “moral education,” after two men were arrested over alleged sexual harassment at induction camps for two separate institutions.

In a Legislative Council paper published on Tuesday, the Education Bureau (EDB) said it had collected information from the city’s eight public universities on their existing policies relating to the student-led orientation activities and their plans to enhance the management of such events.

“As individual incidents of the orientation activities of the current academic year have given rise to wide concern in society, many universities have indicated that they will review the management of the orientation activities and put forward improvement measures,” the EDB wrote.

Liverpool Bomber Entered Country to Watch ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ But Stayed for Years as Gov’t Failed to Deport Him

Malcolm Hitchcott/Facebook

A two-year investigation into the November 2021 bombing at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital by Emad Al Swealmeen, 32, has found that while he had a history of mental illness, the attack was likely motivated by Britain rejecting his claims for asylum.

According to initial findings from Operation Itonia, Al Swealmeen originally came to the United Kingdom on a Jordanian passport with a six-month visitor visa to allegedly attend the filming of the Britain’s Got Talent television programme in Belfast.

However, just days later, the would-be bomber falsely told authorities that he fled from Syria in an attempt to gain asylum status in the country.

His asylum requests were rejected the following year, and by rights, should have been deported.

Yet, he launched a series of appeals and dubiously converted to Christianity from Islam in 2017 and legally changed his name to Enzo Almeni. His appeals were rejected, but the government failed to deport him before he died during the 2021 bombing.

Some countries in the Schengen visa-free travel zone have resumed checks at internal European borders, citing a rising number of undocumented migrants.

Slovakia on Wednesday said it would temporarily reinstate controls at its border with Hungary from Thursday.

It follows similar moves by Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria to tighten their borders with Slovakia.

Slovakia’s reported around 40,000 undocumented migrants, mainly from the Middle East, entered the country since the beginning of the year, many coming through Hungary.

The controls include spot checks at road, rail and waterway crossings.

Judge at Trump’s NY civil fraud trial slams hand on bench, loses his cool during testimony: ‘This is ridiculous!’

Trump’s lawyers accused accountant Donald Bender of evading their questions.

The judge’s annoyed reaction came after Trump’s side claimed that Donald Bender, a partner at accounting firm Mazars USA, was evading their questions.

The attorneys had also repeatedly insisted they needed to meticulously go through Trump’s financial records with Bender “year by year.”

“Don’t waste time,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron said sternly.

Trump attorney Jesus Suarez had spent part of Tuesday afternoon and all of Wednesday morning cross-examining Bender — and said he would continue with the questioning through the end of the day.

“This is ridiculous!” Engoron said, hitting his hand on the bench.

“Mr. Bender isn’t on trial here,” Engoron reminded the lawyers, after Suarez’s aggressive questioning.

Another Trump attorney, Christopher Kise, said the only things Bender “seems to recall are what the government wants him to recall.”

The defense filed a notice of appeal on Wednesday of Engoron’s bombshell ruling from last week siding with the AG on one of her main claims that Trump should be liable for fraud.

Biden Admin Cancels Another $9B in Student Debt, Affecting 125,000 Borrowers

AFP/GETTY IMAGES

The relief itself comes in the form of restructured income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, the core focus of Biden’s debt agenda following the Supreme Court’s striking down of his unilateral cancellation earlier this year.

In total, $5.2 billion of Wednesday’s allotment will be extended to 53,000 borrowers through Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs, and $2.8 billion comes from amending income-driven repayment plans so that “borrowers who made 20 years or more of payments” can receive “the relief they were entitled to,” according to the White House.

Biden also wiped $1.2 billion in loan debt for 22,000 borrowers with “a total or permanent disability.”

Since entering office, Biden has approved roughly $127 billion in student loan debt cancellation for 3.6 million borrowers.
