Nicaraguan man illegally in US facing ‘enhanced’ charges after drunken hit-and-run: sheriff

A Nicaraguan man in the United States illegally is facing “enhanced” charges – due to his immigration status – in Florida for a drunken hit-and-run over the weekend, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Grady Judd said deputies arrested Roberto Sandobal-Lopez, 34, on Saturday after he crashed his white Honda into someone’s fence in Winter Haven at around 7 p.m. and walked off.
Deputies were alerted to the crash after witnesses called the sheriff’s office to report the incident.
Sandobal-Lopez was found by law enforcement walking in the nearby area shortly after the crash and deputies determined he was intoxicated. His eyes were described as “watery” and “bloodshot,” and deputies said they could smell alcohol.
When he was asked if he had been drinking, Sandobal-Lopez allegedly said he drank six bottles of Modelo a few hours earlier at around 5 p.m. Two samples during a breath test revealed BAC levels of 0.13 and 0.124, according to the PCSO.
Field sobriety tests also showed “several signs of impairment,” the sheriff’s office said.
Sandobal-Lopez was taken to the Polk County Jail and charged with DUI with property damage, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of the crash with property damage and not having a driver’s license.
His charges have been upgraded by one degree because he is in the U.S. illegally, which makes his “DUI with property damage” charge a third-degree felony. The remaining charges are all first-degree misdemeanors.
Sheriff Grady Judd said in a Facebook post that Sandobal-Lopez will remain in jail until he is picked up by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement…..
Missing Girl Found Alive Over 900 Miles Away After Disappearing

A man in North Carolina is facing charges after a missing 15-year-old girl from Iowa was reportedly transported across multiple state lines and found more than 900 miles away in North Carolina.
John Michael Johnson, 25, has been charged with felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony solicitation by computer, local news station KTVO reported.
The girl was reported missing in Fairfield, Iowa, over the weekend. Deputies located her at an address in Reidsville, North Carolina, with Johnson.
Investigators with the Fairfield Police Department discovered the girl had been communicating with a man via messaging apps.
Authorities believed she was picked up by the man in Fairfield and taken to Rockingham County in North Carolina.
The police department requested deputies in Rockingham County check an address in Reidsville for the missing girl. Deputies with the county sheriff’s office found the girl at the address with Johnson.
The girl was placed in the care of the Rockingham County Department of Social Services until she could be reunited with her parents.
Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page told KTVO that the case should serve as an “eye opener” about how technology can be used to target children.
Page said: “Individuals will use current technologies such as messaging applications and other internet accessible means to not only conduct scams, but to also exploit, and prey on our children. We are seeing this activity far too often now. I would implore parents to be vigilant and involved in monitoring cellphone and internet usage by their children.”
The girl’s mother, identified only as Jessica, told the station: “She was in his car without a phone for 14 hours and went through like six states, and she was just really scared. She was really happy when the police showed up. I’m just so happy that it ended the way that it did, such a positive way, her being able to come home, because my worst fears were going through my head.”
She also urged other parents to “be proactive in talking to your kids about that kind of thing, like safety. Go through their phone, because I hadn’t been.”….
The political end of the Epstein case

The political drama around Jeffrey Epstein is just about wrapped up. Not because of anything the White House has done. It’s over because few things last forever in an era of frantic news cycles — and because Democrats and their friends in the media have dramatically overplayed their hands.
For weeks on end, the national news and D.C.’s political press were all about Epstein. We were promised that this was the moment the MAGA coalition would finally implode and that President Donald Trump was in for it this time.
The coverage was always more about giddy Democrat wishcasting than reality, and with some slight course correction, the White House got ahead of the mini-tempest.
On Monday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) started receiving Department of Justice files he’d subpoenaed on the case and former Attorney General Bill Barr testified in a closed-door session that the president had never been implicated by anything in the case.
Alternative media reported the story but didn’t dwell upon it. The right’s focus had shifted.
Democrats, however, have not moved on. Epstein was the first body blow they landed on the president essentially since the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, so it makes sense that they’d cling desperately to it. By now, though, it sounds desperate.
More and more, the swirl of “Stop distracting from the files!” sounds more like “Stop winning! We want to talk about the other thing instead!”
The first laugh-out-loud moment might have been when a writer for New York magazine’s Intelligencer vertical suggested that one reason the president might have been spotted on the roof the first week of August was “to distract us” from the files. The tongue-in-cheek (one hopes) deep dive on theories only rested on the idea that he was touring the building with East Wing reconstruction architect James McCrery (who was with him) as part of that project. Who’d have guessed?

No, Trump isn’t erasing slavery’s history in Smithsonian
The Leftist media found their latest ‘scandal’ when President Trump accused the Smithsonian museum of focusing too much on how “bad slavery was.” Democratic media outlets were quick to accuse Trump of believing that there must be GOOD aspects of slavery.
But does anybody ACTUALLY believe that what Trump was saying? Glenn and Stu go through the critical context of what Trump was talking about while blasting the media for purposefully misleading the public with their biased spin.
Democrats Lost 2.1 Million Registered Voters Nationwide While GOP Gained 2.4 Million Between 2020 and 2024, NYT Analysis Shows

According to a New York Times analysis of voter registration data, Democrats are losing voters by significant margins, as Republicans are becoming increasingly popular. This trend is occurring across blue states, red states, and battleground states.
The NYT looked at data from L2, a nonpartisan firm that compiles voter, consumer, and constituent data, which found that for the first time since 2018, Republicans gained more voters than Democrats in 2024.
Between 2020 and 2024, Democrats lost around 2.1 million registered voters in the 30 states that allow people to register under a political party and Washington, D.C.. Republicans gained 2.4 million.
There are still more registered Democrats than Republicans nationwide, but that’s partly because deep-blue states like California let voters register by party, while most red states, like Texas, don’t.
Even so, the Times admitted the numbers were a bad sign, warning that “the trajectory is troublesome for Democrats, and there are growing tensions over what to do about it.”
In 2020, Democrats held an 11-point edge over Republicans. In 2024, that advantage fell by almost half, to only a 6-point advantage.
“I don’t want to say, ‘The death cycle of the Democratic Party,’ but there seems to be no end to this. There is no silver lining or cavalry coming across the hill. This is month after month, year after year,” Michael Pruser, the director of data science for Decision Desk HQ, an election-analysis site, told the Times.
The biggest shift away from Democrats has come from men and younger voters, where the Left’s support has dropped the sharpest. And while both parties lose people to the growing ranks of independents, in recent years those defections have come largely from Democrats.
Maria Cardona, a Democrat party strategist and member of the Democratic National Committee, said that Democrats “fell asleep at the switch.” …
How Left-Wing Climate Radicals Are RIGGING America’s Courts
The environmental Left is secretly targeting judges to advance climate-change lawsuits and block energy projects. Daniel Turner of Power the Future reveals through FOIA records that the Environmental Law Institute has trained thousands of judges with climate propaganda while hiding donors and facilitators.
These secret judicial seminars are run by the same groups filing lawsuits, raising major concerns about impartiality and transparency in the courts.
Turner calls on Congress and the DOJ to investigate, warning that America’s judiciary is being quietly weaponized to enforce climate agendas the public has rejected.
The Threat from Damascus : Can Syrians Prevail? Jerusalem Studio 956
When the jihadist warlord Al-Jolani took over Damascus last December, he promised to lead a new post-Assad Syria representative of all Syrian communities, confessions and countrymen. Many people in the war-torn nation and the surrounding region chose to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Now, almost nine months later, these words ring hollow, as armed gangs perpetrate horrific massacres, attacking the Druze and other minoritiy groups. The onus is now on Al-Jolani, who prefers to be known as Ahmed a-Sharaa, to prove that he can impose his authority, not on the besieged victims of a-Sweida, but on his own Minister of Defense and his henchmen. Joining us to probe the present and probable future of Syria:

NYC judge rejects Trump admin bid to unseal Jeffrey Epstein grand jury transcripts

A Manhattan federal judge rejected the Trump administration’s attempt to release grand jury testimony in the federal case against late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday, calling the effort a “diversion” from the fact that the feds haven’t followed through on a promise to release outstanding files on the matter.
US District Judge Richard Berman wrote in a 14-page order that the government failed to demonstrate any “special circumstance” that would permit the unsealing of testimony that led to Epstein’s arrest in July 2019…..
Berman’s ruling is the third one issued by three separate judges in a matter of weeks rejecting efforts to unseal grand jury testimony in three Epstein-related cases.
Last week, Manhattan US District Judge Paul Engelmayer similarly denied the feds’ bid to release transcripts in the case of Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking and conspiracy charges in December 2021 and is serving a 20-year prison sentence…..
This Is The Reason We’ll Never Forget This
Watching back the collapse of the Twin Towers and Building 7 with fresh eyes, the questions hit harder than ever. Was 9/11 really just as we were told—or was it the spark that exposed how crises become opportunities for the most powerful?
From pulverized concrete and demolition-like footage to the profits of Big Pharma, Big Tech, and the military-industrial complex after both 9/11 and COVID, the pattern is clear: disaster leads to control.
The real lesson isn’t in the rubble, but in how easily fear and chaos are weaponized to strip away freedom.

Trump admin. to screen immigrants’ social media for ‘anti-American activity’

The Trump administration is now requiring visa and green card applicants to have their social media accounts screened for signs of “anti-American activity.” The directive, announced on Tuesday by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), takes effect immediately, according to the news release.
USCIS instructed officials to scrutinize applicants’ online activity for ties to “any involvement in anti-American or terrorist organizations.” Any evidence of so-called “anti-American activity” will weigh heavily against approval, the agency said.
The term itself isn’t defined in the guidance. However, the agency pointed to a Cold War-era immigration law that barred immigrants from communist or anarchist groups from becoming U.S. citizens.
“America’s benefits should not be given to those who despise the country and promote anti-American ideologies. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is committed to implementing policies and procedures that root out anti-Americanism and supporting the enforcement of rigorous screening and vetting measures to the fullest extent possible,” USCIS spokesperson Matthew Tragesser said in a statement.
“Immigration benefits – including to live and work in the United States – remain a privilege, not a right,” he said….
In line with other directives
This policy follows USCIS’s April announcement that applicants would be screened for antisemitic content online. Tourist and student visa applicants must also disclose their social media handles and set their accounts to public for review.
Just last week, the administration tightened other immigration standards, requiring applicants to demonstrate “good moral character,” including steady employment, community contributions and no overdue taxes – as outlined by the Department of Homeland Security.
Sailors battle blaze aboard USS New Orleans off Japan’s coast

The amphibious transport docking ship New Orleans was ablaze off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, as of Wednesday night Japan Standard Time.
U.S. Navy crews were responding to the fire, along with the Japan Coast Guard and military. The Japan Coast Guard said it received an emergency message about the fire at 5 p.m. local time.
“We will provide more details as they become available,” U.S. Seventh Fleet said in a statement Wednesday.
A U.S. Marine Corps official told Military Times no Marines were aboard the New Orleans when the fire broke out. No injuries or oil spills have been reported at this time.
The fire could further hinder the availability of amphibious warships at a time when the Navy is already struggling with readiness issues within the fleet.
The readiness rate of amphibious ships critical to Marine missions has dropped to 41%, a defense official told Military Times earlier this week.
The lack of available amphibious warfare ships, known as amphibs, resulted in a more than five-month gap in Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments this year. The 31st MEU completed its last patrol aboard the America Amphibious Ready Group in early March. The 22nd MEU deployed aboard the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group on Thursday….
Hamas terrorists launch surpise attack from Gaza tunnel

Three IDF soldiers have been wounded – one of them seriously – after 14 Hamas gunmen emerged from a tunnel in Khan Younis this morning and attacked an IDF encampment.
According to IDF sources, the terrorists emerged metres from the Israeli position and opened fire with machine guns and RPGs. At least eight were killed in the firefight.
The injured Israeli troops served with the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion.
One was seriously injured and the other two are listed in good condition, according to the military.
According to unconfirmed reports, the terrorists had been seeking to abduct as well as massacre IDF soldiers. They were unsuccessful in both objectives.
Some of the gunmen managed to breach the encampment, where they exchanged fire with troops of the Kfir Brigade, according to an IDF probe.
The IDF has said it is working to track down the remaining gunmen involved in the attack.
The IDF released footage showing drone strikes against some of the terrorists….
Trump admin steps in after migrant involved in deadly crash fails proficiency tests
Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson reports the latest on the probe into the deadly Florida crash.
The ‘Fox & Friends’ co-hosts also weigh in on the investigation after it was revealed the migrant truck driver couldn’t identify most highway signs.
Why Foreign Truck Drivers Are An Extreme Danger To All Americans | Ep. 1642
Today on the Matt Walsh show, an illegal immigrant truck driver was somehow granted a CDL. He then went on to cause an accident that killed three people. This incident was not an aberration. It’s part of a much larger and very disturbing pattern.
We’ll discuss. Also, Barack Obama is building a giant hideous monument to himself in Chicago and the local residents aren’t happy about it.
And Joy Reid declares that white people have never invented anything. Is that true? Obviously not but we’ll talk about it.
