Report: ‘weaknesses’ and ‘unusual increases’ found in management of Ukrainian aid

Some of the $45 billion American taxpayer dollars sent to the Ukrainian government as foreign aid may have been mishandled, according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office.

Since July of 2022, the U.S. government has sent roughly $45.2 billion to Ukraine for direct budget support alone – that is, money to help keep Ukraine’s government open and personnel funded.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) oversaw the distribution of about $30 billion of that aid through the World Bank Group’s Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine (PEACE) project.

The GAO’s 110-page analysis, released Wednesday, showed that despite aid contractors finding “weaknesses” in Ukraine’s internal controls for managing U.S. foreign aid, USAID neglected to ensure that the country adopted better oversight measures.

Among other discrepancies, Ukraine had underreported to the World Bank nearly $4 billion in expenditures funded by direct budget support.

USAID also failed to review the detailed data in Ukraine’s expenditure verification reports. When GAO analyzed 5,121 instances of aid spending changes, it found 161 “unusual increases” in expenditures throughout certain regions and institutions.

The GAO said the anomalies “merit examination to determine whether any of the expenditure changes indicate potential reporting errors, fraud, or other issues that may warrant greater oversight.”

It recommended that USAID submit the overdue required reports to Congress detailing how Ukraine used direct budget support funds, particularly given that some of the reports it did submit “may include inaccurate information.” Additionally, USAID “did not update this reporting once new data became available,” GAO found.

The World Bank Group responded to the GAO’s report, promising to “remain actively engaged in monitoring and addressing potential risks for the duration of the [PEACE] project.”

“The Bank affirms its readiness to continue collaborating with U.S. entities in the ongoing monitoring and oversight of that funding,” it said.

Trump fumes over alleged Dem demands for illegal alien health care

President Donald Trump on Wednesday fumed over the Democrats’ alleged demands for supporting a federal budget and averting a government shutdown, insisting that they wanted taxpayer money to fund healthcare for illegal aliens and transgender surgeries.

“The Democrats want Illegal Aliens, many of them VIOLENT CRIMINALS, to receive FREE Healthcare. The Democrats want $500 Million Dollars to help Radical Left News Outfits. The Democrats want to leave DEAD PEOPLE on Medicaid and Social Security rolls, so that Criminals can continue to be allowed to receive that payment, and steal their money,” he posted on Truth Social.

“The Democrats want to cut Billions of Dollars from our once vulnerable Rural Hospitals (which we fixed by giving them the largest Cash Infusion, EVER!),” he added. “The Democrats want men playing in women’s sports, ‘Transgender’ for EVERYBODY, Open Borders and, perhaps most importantly of all, a five letter word, CRIME (They like it, and we don’t!), and so many other things that will destroy America. We cannot let this happen!”

Trump previously announced he would cancel meetings with congressional Democrats after reviewing their demands for budget concessions. The fiscal year ends Sept. 30 and Senate Democrats have already rejected a House-approved plan.

NC passes ‘Iryna’s Law’ limiting cashless bail and resurrecting death penalty

House Bill 307, passed by the Senate 28–8 and the House 81–31, bars unsecured (cashless) release in specified “violent offenses,” tightens judicial discretion on pretrial release with required written findings, and requires judges and magistrates to document reasons for release decisions on new AOC forms. It also authorizes house arrest with GPS monitoring in violent cases and, if imposed, requires a secured bond.

The bill also mandates mental health evaluations for defendants charged with a violent offense who have been involuntarily committed within the past three years or when a judicial official has cause to believe the defendant poses a danger.

The measure includes new rules for capital cases. Capital reviews generally must occur within 24 months of judgment absent extraordinary cause; appeals or motions older than 24 months must be scheduled by Dec. 1, 2026, and heard by Dec. 1, 2027. It also adds committing a capital felony on public transportation as an aggravating factor in death penalty eligibility.

An amendment from Senate leader Phil Berger directs the Department of Adult Correction to select a new execution method if lethal injection is ruled unconstitutional or if the state can’t obtain drugs, with the goal of resuming executions paused since 2006.

“For too long, activist judges and magistrates have turned dangerous criminals loose,” House Speaker Destin Hall, R-Caldwell, said.

Rep. Brenden Jones, R-Tabor City, added that the law “strengthens protections for our citizens and restores accountability in our courts.”

Rep. Tricia Cotham, a Republican who represents Charlotte, told colleagues the attack on Zarutska “was preventable” and that what Republicans call “catch-and-release practices for violent offenders will end today.”

Republican leaders framed the bill as a means of restoring public safety.

“Iryna should still be alive,” Berger said. “We cannot let North Carolina be held hostage by woke, weak-on-crime policies and court officials who prioritize criminals over justice for victims.”

Opponents, including Democrats and defense attorneys, said it emphasizes punishment over prevention. Democratic Rep. Marcia Morey, a former judge, said the measure does little to expand mental health services or crisis response. Democratic Rep. Vernetta Alston argued that reviving firing squads or electrocution would be “risky and have the potential to be extremely gruesome.”

Former prosecutor Matthew Mangino called the legislation “a knee-jerk reaction to a tragic crime” and questioned whether cash bail ensures public safety, according to Newsweek.

American health care workers fleeing to  Canada; YouTube reinstating banned accounts: Media Miss Minute

Media Miss by the right: American doctors, nurses are moving to Canada

British Columbia Health Minister Josie Osborne said more than 130 American health care professionals have formally accepted new positions there. He said out of a pool of more than 1,400 American applicants, the province has hired at least 80 nurses and 38 doctors.

Osborne said he’s optimistic more Americans will come to British Columbia. She said the “erosion of rights, disregard of science and the denial of universal health care” in the U.S. incentivizes American health care professionals to move abroad.

Media Miss by the left: YouTube channels banned for COVID-19 content may return after Alphabet review

YouTube’s parent company Alphabet announced it will reinstate accounts that were banned during the COVID-19 pandemic at the request of the Biden administration. It had asked YouTube and other social media platforms to remove accounts offering misleading information about vaccines, virus severity and ineffective treatments.

Alphabet now says it will allow those banned accounts to apply for reinstatement if they were removed for policies “that are no longer in effect.” Over the past few years, YouTube has revised its guidelines to ease restrictions on content related to COVID-19.

The move comes as Republican officials have been pressuring social media companies to walk back Biden-era speech constraints on the virus and other political misinformation. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said the move is a significant win for free speech.

FBI Says It Found Classified Documents in John Bolton’s Office

FBI agents executing a court-authorized search of former national security adviser John Bolton’s Washington, D.C., office last month discovered documents marked as classified.

According to descriptions in court filings the inventory suggested the seized records included references to weapons of mass destruction, U.S. diplomatic work at the United Nations, and the government’s strategic communications efforts.

The discovery renews scrutiny of Bolton’s handling of sensitive national security information and echoes long-standing concerns first raised during a contentious legal battle over his 2020 memoir.

The discovery of classified documents in John Bolton’s office matters because it touches on the core question of whether senior national security officials are held to the same legal standards as others who handle sensitive material.

The case highlights concerns about protecting national defense information, the consistency of Justice Department enforcement in a series of high-profile document probes, and the political fallout of scrutinizing a prominent Trump-era official who later became one of the president’s sharpest critics.

On August 22, 2025, FBI agents executed a court-authorized warrant at Bolton’s downtown Washington office.

An inventory prepared by the agents noted the seizure of records labeled “confidential” and some marked “secret.”

Categories of documents reportedly included references to weapons of mass destruction, records from the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, and files related to U.S. strategic communications.

The Shroud of Turin: One hidden detail that will baffle skeptics — and inspire Christians

What if the greatest mystery of Christianity carried a hidden detail — one so small that it escaped notice for centuries?

The Shroud of Turin — a 14-foot linen cloth many believe to bear the image of Jesus — has been scrutinized by scientists, historians, and skeptics alike. Yet within its faint imprint lies something almost invisible: the outline of human teeth, just behind the lower lip.

To most, it might seem trivial. To a surgeon trained in facial anatomy, it changes everything. This detail not only deepens the enigma of the Shroud but also raises profound questions about life, death, and resurrection.

Providential encounter

When I first encountered the Shroud 25 years ago, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. Though I had built a long career as a surgeon, teacher, and researcher, something was missing. Then, by what I can only call providence, I found myself in Turin, Italy, during a rare public exhibition of the Shroud.

Seated just 30 feet away, I was startled by what I saw. The cloth bore the image of a crucified man, marked with bloodstains on the scalp, hands, feet, and side. My curiosity was piqued, and my journey into Shroud research began.

Years later, I returned to the Shroud through high-definition black-and-white negatives taken during the 1978 Shroud of Turin Research Project. With the eyes of a surgeon trained in facial anatomy, I saw details that stunned me: a swollen cheek, a fractured nose, and blood trickling from thorn wounds.

Then I noticed something even more remarkable — the faint outline of lower front teeth, visible where closed lips should have concealed them. Most analyses and descriptions of the Shroud of Turin’s facial image, including scientific studies and expert forensic examinations, describe the lips as closed…..

The 9/11 Files: The CIA’s Secret Mission Gone Wrong | Ep 1

A former FBI agent who was embedded in the CIA’s Bin Laden unit, Mark Rossini, claims the CIA was fully aware that the 9/11 hijackers were in the United States planning an attack.

Rather than inform the FBI, the CIA tried to recruit two of the hijackers for a “false-flag” operation, which quickly spiraled out of control.

The failed mission raises urgent questions about government secrecy, intelligence failures, and what really happened before 9/11.

Disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok loses long-running lawsuit over firing for anti-Trump texts

Disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok has lost his long-running lawsuit claiming he was illegally fired for sending messages attacking President Trump during his first term.

Strzok had argued that he was only fired in 2018 because Trump reacted furiously to texts the agent exchanged while investigating ties between Russia and the Republicans’ 2016 campaign.

But US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled Tuesday that Strzok failed to show it violated his First Amendment rights.

The judge, appointed by President Barack Obama, praised Strzok as having been “among the FBI’s leading counterintelligence experts” — but ruled that there was “no genuine dispute of material fact” to fight the firing.

While ruling that the fired agent’s rights were not violated, Jackson did not rule on whether Strzok’s firing was “appropriate.”

The full ruling is under seal, but the summary showed it rejected Strzok’s argument that he had a deal with the FBI which said he would not be fired for his action, but merely demoted and suspended for 60 days.

His attorney, Aitan Goelman, did not respond immediately to requests for comment….

Jan. 6 subcommittee zeroes in on paid informants at the Capitol riot

The chairman of the new House subcommittee aimed at uncovering the truth behind the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., says his panel is concerned about the dozens of paid, federal informants present during the demonstrations, and is concerned that the intelligence they gathered was not properly shared with law enforcement.

“One thing that we have learned, and this came on the tail end of the Biden administration, when their Department of Justice admitted that they had many, I mean, more than two dozen, paid informants embedded in the crowd,” Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., told the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show yesterday.

How many informants? And what were they paid to do?

“And so my question is, you know…our FBI does pay to have informants through different organizations, and their primary job is intelligence, you know, to provide information. But, with that many paid informants being in the crowd, we want to know how many were in the crowd, how many were in the building, but I also want to know, were they paid to inform or instigate?” Loudermilk continued.

The chairman also said he wants to know whether the dozens of informants spread throughout the crowd properly passed any intelligence on to their law enforcement handlers in advance of the protests.

“But of these informants, if they were paid to inform, what information did the FBI actually get from them? How did they not know that this was coming?” Loudermilk asked.

“If they had that many paid informants, I believe they did know it was coming,” he asserted.

Loudermilk said his subcommittee is investigating whether some information from informants may not have been passed on for political reasons by those that wanted to conveniently catch “MAGA” in a riot.

“You know that we do have evidence that there were people that were instigating, such as a Metropolitan Police Officer that was undercover in plainclothes. The question would be — when we get more evidence of people who are instigating that may be part of the government or maybe in law enforcement — were they caught up in the moment, or did they have orders to do this? Was this pre-planned?” Loudermilk asked. ….

Muslim Knifeman Who Attacked Qur’an Burning Activist Spared Jail in England

Judge Adam Hiddleston at the Southwark Crown Court gave Moussa Kadri, 59, a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, meaning that unless he re-offends, he will be spared any time behind bars.

Kadri, a Muslim man described as being ‘from Kensington’, flew into a rage in February after seeing Armenian-Kurdish atheist activist Hamit Coskun, 50, burn a copy of the Qur’an outside the Turkish embassy in London.

Shouting, “I’m going to kill you”, Kadri ran up to the activist and began slashing him with a knife. As Coksun fell to the ground, the knifeman continued to kick and spit on him while saying, according to The Telegraph: “Burning the Koran? It’s my religion, you don’t burn the Koran.”

The court heard that Kadri, who pleaded guilty, later told police that he felt he was protecting his religion by attacking Coskun.

The judge remarked, “Knife crime of any sort is something that these courts take extremely seriously. When armed with a knife, there is always the possibility that really serious injury or death, even if unintended, could result. Losing your temper and your self-control in the way that you did that day was disgraceful and is something that I know you are rightly ashamed of.”

However, the judge accepted that Kadri was “remorseful” about the attack as well as the testimony of character witnesses, and thus decided not to jail the knifeman. Kadri will, however, have to complete 150 hours of community service and pay a statutory surcharge of £150.

Stunningly, this was less than the amount that Coksun was ordered to pay in June for burning a book after being convicted of a “religiously aggravated public order offence”. Despite his claims that he was merely motivated by an antipathy towards the Islamic faith and not individual Muslims, Judge John McGarva found that Coksun’s actions were “highly provocative” and claimed that they were “motivated at least in part by a hatred of Muslims”.

The Armenian-Kurdish activist has launched an appeal and has described his conviction as an “assault on free speech” and argued that he would not have faced the same punishment if he had burnt a copy of the Christian Bible….

Breitbart News reported the alleged shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Dallas PD posted to X:

CNN quoted ICE Deputy Director Madison Sheahan telling FOX News, “We’ve seen a lot of violence at ICE facilities, and this is not the first time that we’ve seen an attack, even this year at an ICE facility.”

The Dallas ICE facility was targeted in another incident one month ago.

On August 25, 2025, Bratton Dean Wilkinson arrived at the Dallas ICE facility and “claimed to have a bomb in his backpack,” according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Another Texas ICE facility, the Prairieland Detention Facility in Alvarado, was attacked by multiple assailants on July 4, 2025.

There were 11 suspects in the attack and the Department of Homeland Security noted that FBI had arrested ten of them by July 8, 2025.

Girl With Bullet Lodged in Brain at Minneapolis Catholic Church Shooting Has ‘Miraculous’ Recovery

AP Photo/Abbie Parr

As Breitbart News reported in late August, two children were killed and 17 others were wounded during a shooting at Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis while the students attended Mass. One of the victims, seventh grader Sophia Forchas, survived after a gunshot to the head left her in critical condition. Her family revealed this week that she has been making a strong neurological recovery after being moved to an inpatient rehabilitation program.

“Sophia is strong, brave, and unwavering in her fight toward healing,” the family said in a statement.

“Sophia surviving this horrific attack is a miracle,” the statement added. “Her healing progress is nothing short of miraculous.”

According to the New York Post,  neurosurgeon Dr. Walt Galicich told reporters earlier this month “the bullet that was lodged in her brain was in a critical area that left experts wary of removing it, even 10 days after the shooting.”

“Galicich warned that he would have to ‘go through the normal brain’ to get the bullet out, which could cause more damage with a low chance of survival,” it reported. “The surgeons had to remove the left half of Sophia’s skull to relieve the pressure inside her head.”

“Despite the low chances, Sophia managed to make it out of the procedure alive, with her neurological functions slowly returning in recent weeks,” it added….

Blue city crime crisis: Repeat offender strikes again after Charlotte train murder

(Seattle Police Department)

Seattle police have charged a 44-year-old ex-con with the stabbing of another man in the stomach from behind in a “seemingly unprovoked attack” in the city’s Chinatown-International District, authorities said, the latest in a string of violent crimes across the U.S. linked to repeat-offender suspects.

Surveillance video appears to show a man on a bicycle approach another man and stab him without warning before running off. The victim, who was pulling a cart along the sidewalk at the time, falls to the ground but eventually gets up and tries to run after the suspect while holding his side.

He couldn’t keep up, but police arrested 44-year-old Jose Francisco Garcia nearby. Court records show he has a rap sheet dating back to at least 1997, when he was convicted of third-degree assault, and he had pending drug charges from November.

He allegedly fled the scene on a bicycle before officers arrived. Police told Fox News Digital that responding officers captured him within 9 minutes of the 911 call — and police dash and bodycam videos show he tried to escape from marked police cruisers on his bicycle before they surrounded and tackled him.

Bodycam video shows police recovered a knife tucked into his waistband when they captured him. It appears to be a small, fixed-blade weapon with Paracord wrapped around the handle…..
