Despite its promises of health, wealth, and happiness, the prosperity gospel sells a bankrupt gospel.
You can hardly watch a Christian television network without seeing preachers in expensive suits proclaiming God’s desire to bless the audience with financial and physical security. Their message goes by various names:
the health and wealth gospel, the word of faith movement, seed faith, and “name it and claim it” Christianity.
But perhaps it’s best known as the prosperity gospel. I should know—at one time, I was right in the middle of it.
The Hinn family is known for its association with healing services and the prosperity gospel.
I was three years old when my father launched his church, following the model set up by my well-known uncle, Benny Hinn.
My father even founded The Signs and Wonders School of Ministry to supposedly teach anyone—who was willing to pay—how to speak in tongues or perform miracles.
Propagating the prosperity gospel certainly caused my family to prosper. By the time I was 13, we had a 10,000-square-foot home with a sports court and private gate. We drove multiple Mercedes-Benz vehicles and vacationed in expensive hotels around the world. Not until college did God send people with the right questions to crack my false beliefs and plant seeds that would eventually lead me to the truth. My early life gave me a front-row seat to experience what I now know to be an insidious theology. In fact, the prosperity gospel is one of the most dangerous theological ideas in the world today. It spans the globe, spiritually abusing people from all walks of life in devastating ways.
The Prosperity Gospel Distorts the Biblical Gospel
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, they plunged mankind into spiritual death and the reality of living in a world plagued by disease, suffering, poverty, violence, and physical death.
Our fallen world makes the perfect environment for prosperity gospel proponents to spread the false idea that God’s highest goal is to remove all suffering and scarcity.
But is the gospel about the gifts or the giver? Is the gospel about earthly riches or eternal life? Is the gospel about monetary gain or the glory of God?
We can properly understand the biblical gospel by looking at what is perhaps the most comprehensive gospel passage in the entire Bible. Ephesians 2:4–9 contains explosive statements regarding God’s mercy on us as people helplessly dead in sin.
The verses assure us that we are saved only by grace through faith and remind us of what God accomplished in Christ on our behalf.
The prosperity gospel distorts the biblical gospel by making the good news all about us and possessions.
Prosperity gospel preachers manipulate the gospel, claiming salvation will make you happy, healthy, and wealthy.
I’ve got news for you—actually, I’ve got good news for you: The gospel is about your soul’s eternal security, not a comfortable 75 years enjoying earthly riches.
The gospel is concerned with repentance and faith in Christ as your Savior—the ultimate treasure of your longing soul.

IRGC warns of response from Hormuz to Red Sea
Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force Esmail Qaani said on Monday that other members of the “Resistance Front” could join Yemen in responding to Israel and the United States.
“The timely and powerful action of heroic Yemen shows the wisdom of the Resistance Front. If necessary, others will also come,” Qaani said. He added that “from the Strait of Hormuz to the Bab el-Mandeb and from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea will be the new security belt of the Resistance.”
The remarks came after Israel reported a missile launch from Yemen targeting its territory and Saudi Arabia said a ballistic missile launched from Yemen disappeared near its border.
Earlier, Yemen’s Houthis announced a ban on Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
DOJ opens new front in war on California as four NorCal school districts targeted
The Department of Justice has launched an investigation into four California public school districts for allegedly teaching students about sexual orientation and gender ideology under the guise of “LGBTQ history and social studies” while failing to notify parents.
Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s civil rights division, sent a letter to the San Francisco Unified School District on Monday announcing a compliance review to determine whether SFUSD is violating Title IX by advising teachers that parental permission nor notification is required when discussing LGBTQ family and gender diversity to students.
The other school districts under investigation include Graves Elementary School District, Santa Rita Union School District and Soledad Unified School District.
“Further, each of these school districts appear to have implemented policies that mean students may unknowingly share sex-segregated bathrooms and locker rooms with the opposite sex, and biological males are allowed to compete on girls’ sports teams,” Dhillon told The California Post in a statement.
“Parents do not send their children to school to be indoctrinated, denied their personal privacy, or, in the case of girls, robbed of athletic opportunities.”
The letter states that teaching queer and trans-identity-affirming lessons is mandated by SFUSD, and that the California Department of Education does not require parental permission or notification. …

the network had already had to pay $15 million to Donald Trump, settling after the president sued the network over what former Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos said in March 2024.
In that segment with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), Stephanopoulos claimed Trump was found liable for rape in the E. Jean Carroll case. That’s not what actually happened.
Now, Escobar said the same thing on Sunday.
The $15 million was directed to the Trump presidential library project. Maybe Escobar can pitch in a few bucks, too.
Return From Whence You Came: Feds Launch Historic Denaturalization Sweep
It could be time for over a dozen alleged sex offenders and fraudsters to pack their bags.
That’s what the Trump administration is telling 17 U.S. citizens accused of immigration fraud in an unprecedented denaturalization effort intended to crack down on those who came here and broke our laws.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Monday that citizenship is a privilege, and if you abuse it, you might lose it:
American citizenship is a privilege, and it must be earned honestly. If you come here break our laws, and lie in your immigration proceedings, you forfeit that privilege.
@DHSgov will not stand idly by while Americans are harmed by criminals including sex offenders, perpetrators of fraud, and drug traffickers who have exploited our generosity and gamed our immigration system.
We will continue to use every lawful avenue to denaturalize and remove aliens.
The 17 stand accused of obtaining their citizenship fraudulently or committing other serious crimes:
Some of the 17 citizens targeted in the latest denaturalization campaign were convicted of violent or serious crimes, including sex offenses against children. Others were convicted of fraud crimes or accused of committing immigration fraud.
In federal court complaints filed across the country in recent days, Justice Department officials argued that the individuals concealed their criminal activity when they applied for U.S. citizenship or were otherwise ineligible to be naturalized, including because they lacked a “good moral character,” one of the requirements in the naturalization process.
This Department of Justice has filed DENATURALIZATION ACTIONS in various U.S. district courts against 17 individuals accused of serious offenses.
“When criminal aliens exploit the naturalization process by breaking the law, there are consequences. Criminal aliens are lying about their past crimes, including drug dealers, sexual predators, and fraudsters. Gaining U.S. citizenship is a privilege and under the steadfast leadership of President Trump, this Department of Justice maintains a zero-tolerance policy for the abuse of this process,” said Acting Attorney General @DAGToddBlanche .
“We continue to work around the clock with our interagency partners to make sure U.S. citizenship is granted to those who truly deserve it.”

Homan Vows ‘More ICE’ Than Ever Coming to NYC
The Trump administration is reportedly preparing a major surge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents into New York City, escalating a growing confrontation with Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul over President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
Trump border czar Tom Homan revealed Monday that the administration has already drawn up an operational plan and warned Hochul before she signed legislation late last month restricting ICE activities and banning masked immigration agents in New York.
“You’re going to see more ICE than you’ve ever seen in New York City, and it’s coming,” Homan said, according to Bloomberg. “I just reviewed an operational plan. I’m not going to tell you exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s coming.”
The planned deployment would mark one of the administration’s most aggressive immigration enforcement efforts in the nation’s largest city, where state and local leaders have frequently clashed with federal authorities over immigration policy.
Trump and Homan have repeatedly threatened to boost ICE operations in New York City but have not yet carried out the kind of large-scale enforcement actions seen in other Democrat-led jurisdictions.
Homan has argued that immigration agents can more safely arrest illegal immigrants while they are already in custody rather than attempting arrests in neighborhoods and public spaces.
Bloomberg reported that Homan said he privately warned Hochul that efforts to block ICE from taking custody of detainees would trigger a significant federal response.
The Trump border official reportedly told the governor he would flood New York City with ICE personnel if the state prevented agents from arresting individuals already being held by law enforcement.
The latest warning comes as protests and tensions continue at Delaney Hall, a federal immigrant detention facility in neighboring New Jersey, where demonstrators have violently clashed with federal immigration authorities over the Trump administration’s expanded immigration enforcement efforts….

Penn Station slasher had ‘rage in his eyes,’ victim says while recalling NYC rampage: ‘Wanted to kill me’
The knife-wielding maniac who injured five people in a random rampage at Penn Station had “rage in his eyes,” one of the victims recalled Monday — saying the horrifying encounter unfolded so quickly, he didn’t even realize he had been slashed.
“He went at me to kill me! I saw the rage in his eyes,” Henry Obadiah, 60, an accountant who lives in Midtown and was heading home from Long Branch, New Jersey, told The Post of the chilling, Sunday night attack.
Obadiah found himself in the frenzied path of the alleged homeless attacker — identified by law enforcement sources as Hector Deleon, 51 — as he noticed two people tussling while making his way toward the station.
“The crazy guy locked his eyes on me and just roundhoused me! Clocked me right in the face and I was like, ‘What the f–k?’ And I heard the guy on the escalator say, ‘He’s got a knife! He’s got a knife!’
“I didn’t realize I had just been slashed in the face,” he recalled.
Obadiah said he assumed he was just sucker-punched — until he saw the gash on his face when he looked at his reflection on his phone.
“I thought he just punched me. I felt my lip got busted and I saw the blood, but I took a look into my phone and saw the big cut in my face and I just ran up to the cop and said, ‘I just got attacked,’” he said.
Obadiah was one of five victims slashed or stabbed during the rampage around 7 p.m. Sunday.
After Obadiah told the cops he could identify his attacker, he walked with police along a “huge trail of blood” leading to the New Jersey Transit boarding area, where he saw another victim who appeared to be in his 20s seated on the floor holding a bloody towel up to a gushing head wound as strangers tried to attend to him.
“The paramedics showed up shortly thereafter. While they were telling me that they should take me to the hospital, all these cops started running past and screaming, ‘He stabbed someone else! He stabbed someone else!’”
Obadiah slammed the state of transit safety in the Big Apple, and the Mamdani administration’s response to it.
“Something has to be done. The city is getting worse and worse and no one seems to care. This administration? Law and order isn’t the priority! The attackers have more rights than the victims. It’s not surprising that this happened and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to change under this administration,” he said.
“Most people are voting for this stuff and they’re voting for, ‘Let’s get rid of the police, the police got to stand down,’ it’s nuts! I want it to change, but not only for me but for the next victim of a crazy homeless guy that decides he had a bad day and he’s going to kill a few people.”
The suspected attacker was said to be hospitalized Monday and had yet to be charged.

Earlier in June, the European Union appeared to finally react to concerns raised by President Donald Trump and many European voters over illegal immigration by introducing tougher border entry rules for the 27-nation bloc.
The EU agreed on new, stricter rules regarding migration and asylum.
The laws are specifically designed to ensure that illegal/undocumented migrants who enter the bloc are processed and, where necessary, quickly sent to deportation centers in countries outside the EU.
People seeking asylum will be screened for identity, security, and their health before even entering any asylum system.
The border officials will now track and record non-EU citizens entering and exiting the bloc.
Plus, it will use biometric data such as fingerprints and facial recognition. And all member states must now help one another and share information.
The Associated Press reported that the provisional deal struck by the EU’s three main institutions is expected to go to EU lawmakers and governments, where approval is expected.
Alan Mendoza, founder and executive director of the Henry Jackson Society, told Fox News Digital that “The EU’s demography is changing Europe’s culture. We are now having to deal with people who are not integrating with the local customs.”
While the U.K. is not part of the EU, he said, “Britain’s efforts are behind the new EU rules.” Noting the country has “not managed to have offshore migrant holding centers, which would make sure Britain is not seen as a soft touch.”….
New Jersey police tackle, arrest multiple anti-ICE agitators on another tense night outside detention facility
A weeks-long standoff between protesters and police led to more arrests again Sunday outside Delaney Hall, the New Jersey immigration detention center targeted by political activists seeking to rile up unrest for their open-borders agenda.
Protesters obstructing the passage of vehicles outside the gates were fought back off the street and in some instances tackled and arrested after clashing with Newark Police Department officers who had shouted repeated orders to “back up,” a video posted online showed.
One activist appeared to be holding his head after he fell back after getting too close to arresting officers.
He then proceeded to continue filming at a safer distance, apparently without serious injury
Six were arrested Saturday night into Sunday morning on charges of rioting/failure to disperse, including two repeat offenders, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda’s office.
Protests outside the gates have shown activists pummeling cars, impeding the exits and in some cases getting hurled out of the way after collisions with vehicles attempting to speed away from the violent activists.
“No one has the right to come into our city, destroy personal property, or incite violence,” Miranda wrote on social media. “Think twice before coming to Newark with any other agenda than to protest peacefully.”….
DC schools use sex ed curriculum that avoids using ‘male,’ ‘female,’ promotes abortion
An education defense group is exposing what it says is the District of Columbia Public Schools “extreme” and “inappropriate” sexual education curriculum, where the terms male and female are avoided for elementary students and abortion is promoted as an option for pregnancy to high schoolers.
Senior Director of Communications for education defense group Defending Education Erika Sanzi told The Center Square that the District of Columbia Public Schools’ (DCPS) lessons “aren’t just inappropriate for children but they reveal that DCPS has embraced an ideology so extreme that it avoids using words like male and female and man and woman when teaching about reproduction and sexual anatomy.”
“The fact that students can’t be opted out of this madness just adds insult to injury,” Sanzi said.
DCPS uses the Rights, Respect, Responsibility (3Rs) curriculum for its sexual safety lessons, with such lessons being impossible for students to opt out of by DC law, according to DCPS’ website.
DCPS has not yet responded to The Center Square’s request for comment.
According to documents obtained by Defending Education, a fifth grade lesson plan in the 3Rs curriculum refers to the male reproductive system as “Person with a Penis” or “Body with Penis and Testicles,” while the female reproductive system is likewise referred to as “Person with a Uterus” or “Body with a Vulva.”
A note to the teacher in the lesson plan reads: “It is likely that students will see the body parts and refer to this as the ‘boy’ or ‘male’ system, and the system of a person with a uterus as the ‘girl’ or ‘female’ system. Ideally, you should point out that you know that each person’s body can be different than the gender they know they are.”
The note encourages teachers to “use the more inclusive language of ‘person with a penis’ and ‘person with a uterus.”…

Pet stores, breeders and reptile owners are being warned after more than 100,000 illegal exotic cockroaches have been confiscated from a commercial breeder this week, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (DCCEEW) said.
The seized insects—valued at about $200,000—are highly prized as food for reptiles and are illegal to breed, trade or import.
Officials said the haul marks Australia’s “largest-ever seizure of illegal exotic invertebrates.”
Among the insects confiscated were dubia cockroaches and Madagascar hissing cockroaches.
