HUD orders citizenship checks for those in public housing

The Department of Housing and Urban Development ordered an immediate review of the citizenship status of those receiving public housing assistance, saying Friday that an initial review spotted nearly 6,000 ineligible people, and nearly 200,000 more who needed more verification.

That initial review also found nearly 25,000 people the government believes are dead yet were still listed on the beneficiary rolls.

HUD called the verification a “cleaning house” and said public housing authorities and rental property owners have 30 days to complete the reviews.

“We will leave no stone unturned,” said Secretary Scott Turner. “Ineligible non-citizens have no place to receive welfare benefits. With this new directive and audit, HUD is putting new processes in place to safeguard taxpayer resources and put the American people first.”

HUD said it worked with Homeland Security to run the names of all people receiving Section 8 or Section 9 housing assistance through DHS’ Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database. That reveals the immigration status.

HUD is supplying reports to property owners and housing authorities with the names to be rechecked.

Those who fail to comply will face sanctions, the department said….

Chicago Jury Finds Gang Member Not Guilty of Putting Bounty on Border Patrol Chief

Prosecutors are bringing charges against rioters and gang members who assault federal immigration officers, but sanctuary city judges and juries are just letting them go.

In California, an Obama judge decided to let off an illegal alien who rammed his car into ICE officers. In Seattle, a jury acquitted an illegal alien convicted drive-by shooter of hitting a Homeland Security Investigations agent with his truck.

Now, a Chicago jury set loose a Latin Kings member who put a bounty on the Border Patrol Chief.

The man accused of leading a murder-for-hire plot against Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino was found not guilty Thursday.

Juan Espinoza Martinez, who faced up to 10 years in prison if convicted, admitted to sending a message to his friend over the social platform Snapchat with a picture of the agent and the words, “2k on info when they catch him. 10-k if you take him down.”

The defendant was arrested and charged for the alleged murder-for-hire plot last year and has been in federal custody since October.

In a post on the social platform X following Espinoza Martinez’s arrest last October, DHS accused the defendant of placing “a bounty” on Bovino and being a member of a street gang.

U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow barred testimony related to the street gang claim during Espinoza Martinez’s trial, citing a lack of supporting evidence.

The jury deliberated for four hours before delivering a not guilty verdict.

Judge Lefkow is a Clinton appointee. The DHS press release described Martinez as a “Latin Kings’ member. The reference appears to show up in the Snapchat conversation.

HSI Chicago received a screenshot of a Snapchat conversation from a user named “Juan” appearing to place a $2,000 bounty for information “cuando lo agarren,” which translates to “when they catch him,” and a $10,000 reward “if you take him down.” A third response of “LK….on him” indicates the involvement of the Latin Kings.

Martinez’s lawyer went for the ‘resistance’ angle and it seems to have worked….

Axis of anarchy: Minnesota anti-ICE ‘shutdown’ backed by DSA, communists, unions, CCP-tied network

A collection of far-left activist groups — including the Democratic Socialists of America, major labor unions, explicitly Communist groups, and a CCP-linked protest network — have all organized a strike scheduled for Friday which aims to “shut down” schools and businesses statewide in Minnesota in an effort to push ICE out.

The planned shutdown was announced early last week — “ICE Out of MN: Day of Truth and Freedom” — include plans for a large-scale march in Minneapolis and a day of “no work, no school, no shopping.”

The radical Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), the left-wing BreakThrough News media outlet, and the Manhattan-based Marxist revolutionary People’s Forum are all involved in either promoting or organizing the Minnesota shutdown effort.

Just the News previously reported on how these and other radical activist groups have leadership links or financial ties to a funding network backed by wealthy businessman and self-avowed communist Neville Singham.

The GOP-led House Oversight Committee voted this month to subpoena Singham for information about this sprawling activist network. The Freedom Road Socialist Organization, the Revolutionary Communists of America, and the Twin Cities chapter of the Communist Party USA — all avowedly Marxist groups — are also listed as co-sponsors of the Friday protest.

The DSA — which helped propel Zohran Mamdani to Gracie Mansion in NYC — including the national organization and the local Minnesota chapter — are listed as backing the anti-ICE effort scheduled for Friday….

‘Fraud … for abortion’? Vance announces probe into Planned Parenthood’s $88M taxpayer-funded loans at March for Life

Vice President JD Vance attended the 2026 March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Friday, during which he announced that the Trump administration had launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood affiliates.

The crowd began to chant “JD” as Vance stepped onto the stage. He recalled that his first speech as vice president was at last year’s March for Life.

“Some of you may remember that in my remarks last year, I told you all, one of the things I most wanted in the United States of America was more families and more babies. So, let the record show, you have a vice president who practices what he preaches,” Vance said, referring to the recent announcement that he and second lady Usha Vance are expecting their fourth child.

Vance credited Trump for selecting Supreme Court justices who delivered “the most important Supreme Court decision in my lifetime,” Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Vance argued that Trump “shattered a 50-year culture of disposability … that treated human life as expendable the moment that it became inconvenient.”

“He empowered our nation and our movement to build a culture of life from the grassroots up. … Our vision is simple: We want life to thrive in the United States of America,” the vice president continued.

“We’re not trying to argue to the Supreme Court anymore. We are trying to argue to our fellow citizens that we must build up that culture of life,” he added….

FEMA deploying teams to multiple states as massive winter storm looms

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Friday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has deployed teams to three states with a dozen others on standby, as an incoming winter storm threatens much of the country.

“The time to prepare is now,” Noem said in a statement released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “The agency urges people to pay attention to local officials and take any necessary actions to keep safe as severe winter weather moves across the nation.”

The National Weather Service is forecasting a “significant, long-duration winter storm” stretching from the southern Rockies to New England, bringing heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain to a large swath of the country at least through Monday.

The storm is likely to bring frigid temperatures, gusty winds and dangerous wind chills to the north-central U.S., affecting residents in the Southern Plains, the Mississippi Valley and the Midwest, according to the forecast.

FEMA has deployed Incident Management Teams to Louisiana, Texas and Virginia, according to the DHS statement. The agency has a dozen more teams ready for deployment should additional states request assistance, Noem said in the statement, adding that 28 FEMA Urban Search and Rescue teams are also on standby.

Governors in multiple states have already declared states of emergency in response to the forecast…

Bad Bunny Plans to Wear a Dress for Super Bowl Halftime Show to ‘Honor Queer Icons’

The gender-bending rapper who refuses to speak or sing in English had already sparked controversy among football fans when, after the league announced he was their choice for the big show, social media exploded with images of his past performances in women’s clothing.

Now, reports say Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, fully intends to perform wearing a dress during next month’s NFL show.

According to an insider who spoke with celebrity gossip site RadarOnline, the rapper “lives to push envelopes,” and will glam up for the February 8 halftime show.

“He loves controversy. He lives to push envelopes,” a stylist connected to Bad Bunny told the publication.

“He is 100 percent going to wear a dress. A political thunderbolt disguised as couture.”

Another source added, “He’s not playing it safe. The NFL has no idea what’s coming. Zero.”

Reports also say that the rapper intends to make his show “as queer as possible.”

Bad Bunny intends to “pay tribute to generations of queer activists, drag performers, and cultural icons,” The Pink News added.

Despite widespread opposition to the rapper’s appearance, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has defended the invitation, claiming that Bad Bunny’s performance will “unite” people….

Woman’s Severed Ear Was Saved by Grafting it Onto Her Foot Before Reattaching it 5 Months Later

In a medical story that has to be seen to be believed, a Chinese woman whose ear was torn off in an industrial accident had it grafted onto her foot as a way of keeping it viable for later transfer back to her head.

And that’s exactly what happened, 5 months after doctors at a Shandong hospital determined that blood vessels and nerves at the sight of the injury were too damaged for immediate reattachment.

In a process called “heterotopic survival,” which involves grafting severed body parts onto different regions in order to ensure blood flow and tissue repair, the ear of 30-year-old Ms. Sun was attached to the top of her foot.

As it turns out, the tops of our feet and the sites of our ears share similar properties of skin thinness, stable blood circulation, and blood vessel size. After a brief fear of necrosis, the ear gradually regained its color.

Incredibly, Sun carried on for 5 months wearing a shoe several sizes too big to protect her ear until October came around and the woman’s surgical team determined it was time to undertake the complex procedure of reconnecting damaged blood vessels and nerves.

But all went well, and Sun is now recovering…..

Delta Shares $1.3 Billion with its Workers–Averaging 4 Weeks’ of Salary Coming Directly from Profits

One of America’s largest airlines is also its most generous.

Delta Airlines will pay out around $1.3 billion in profit sharing payments, representing not only one of the largest payouts in the company’s history, but a larger sum than the whole industry together.

Celebrated on Valentine’s Day, Profit Sharing Day sees Delta employees receive a divided share equal to 10% of all company revenue up to the first $2.5 billion, rising to 20% for each dollar above $2.5 billion.

This year’s payout will be between 3 to 5 weeks’ salary depending on the employee.

“The passion and dedication of Delta people carried us through 2025 and will continue to propel us forward,” said Chief People Officer Allison Ausband. “Their unwavering focus on safety and care is what builds trust and a deep loyalty for customers, and continued success for Delta.”

Despite a year described in an earnings report as “challenging,” when the prolonged government shutdown cost the firm some $200 million in lost revenue, the profit sharing payout will be 8.9% of a possible 10%.

Delta consistently ranks as one of the best places to work according to Forbes and Fortune 500, and it’s easy to see why….

House GOP slammed by conservatives for joining Dems on controversial ‘kill switch’ amendment

Fifty-seven Republicans voted with the vast majority of Democrats on Thursday to keep a Biden-era mandate enabling government remote control of vehicles, drawing backlash from conservatives like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The group voted to defeat an amendment proposed by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., that would have rolled back government requirements for the development of a “kill switch” to disable the cars of impaired drivers.

That amendment failed by a 164-268 vote.

If successful, the amendment would have been folded into a much larger bill to fund the departments of War, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation and Health and Human Services. That larger package went on to pass the chamber in a bipartisan 341-88 vote on Thursday.

DeSantis, who has championed small-government policies in the Sunshine State, blasted the amendment vote in a post to X on Friday morning.

“The idea that the federal government would require auto manufacturers to equip cars with a ‘kill switch’ that can be controlled by the government is something you’d expect in Orwell’s 1984,” DeSantis said, referring to the fictional novel by George Orwell warning readers against totalitarianism.

“Unbelievably disturbing,” Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, said in his own post. “57 House Republicans just joined almost all the Democrats to ensure the government can shut off your car whenever it wants.”..

Sanctuary California: Illegal Alien Accused of Raping, Sodomizing 14-Year-Old Girl with Autism

Enrique Bautista Vasquez, a 20-year-old illegal alien allegedly carrying a stolen Social Security card and a fraudulent green card, has been arrested by the Cathedral City Police Department and charged with child rape and sexual assault of a person unable to consent, as well as abuse of a particularly vulnerable victim.

According to police, on New Year’s Eve, the victim walked out of her home unannounced — a behavior that is attributed to her autism. The girl ultimately made it to the campus of Mayfield College where she encountered Vasquez, who allegedly convinced her to walk with him.

This is when police allege that Vasquez lured the girl back to his apartment and raped her, as well as sodomized her.

Once the victim was allowed to leave Vasquez’s apartment, she walked home and told her parents what had occurred. The victim’s parents then contacted the police.

Police allege that Vasquez had a stolen Social Security card of a Texas resident and a fraudulent green card in his wallet. The stolen Social Security card was issued to the Texas resident years before Vasquez was born….
