Capitol Police Start Detaining Pro-Palestine Protesters on Capitol Hill

Outside, in front of the Capitol, protesters are chanting “ceasefire now!” and “not in our name.” The group later chanted “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a slogan that many Jews say is a call to eradicate the nation of Israel.

Protest leaders there said 200 protestors had been detained, later updating that number to 400.

Police told a Messenger reporter that between 1,000 and 1,200 people attended the protest.

Earlier Wednesday, pro-Palestinian hecklers disrupted a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the nomination of Jacob Lew, the Biden administration’s nominee to be ambassador to Israel.

Douglass Mackey Sentenced to 7 Months in Prison for “Election Interference”

Meme-maker Douglass Mackey was sentenced in New York criminal court on Wednesday after a March conviction for conspiracy against rights, ie election interference, over memes he created during the 2016 presidential election that disparaged Hillary Clinton.

Mackey was sentenced to 7 months in prison for the crime of making memes the DOJ didn’t think were funny. A fundraiser has been launched for his ongoing legal defense.

The case was heard in the US Court of the Eastern District of New York. Mackey, who was known as Ricky Vaughn on Twitter, was found guilty of the federal charge after making memes that jokingly encouraged Hillary Clinton supporters to cast their votes via text mesage.

This is not actually a viable form of voting, which Mackey, and everyone else, knew.

There was no evidence to suggest that any voter attempted to cast their ballot via text in response to Mackey’s meme.

Leaker of Trump Taxes Worked for Biden Beltway Donor That Just Won a Big New IRS Contract

The Internal Revenue Service recently awarded a lucrative contract to help modernize its computer databases to the same Washington firm, Booz Allen Hamilton, that employed the man who pleaded guilty last week to stealing and leaking thousands of private tax returns of wealthy Americans, including former President Trump, according to records reviewed by RealClearInvestigations.

The massive IRS theft is the third major breach of confidential and classified government information by Booz Allen contractors over the last decade – including Edward Snowden’s 2013 leak exposing the National Security Agency’s worldwide anti-terror surveillance program.

Cyber-thief Charles “Chaz” Littlejohn was working on an IRS contract for Booz Allen in 2018 when he stole more than two decades of Trump’s personal tax records from IRS computers. He later leaked them to the New York Times, which published negative stories on Trump’s long-sought returns several weeks before the 2020 election, which Trump narrowly lost in a handful of battleground states.

After the election, Littlejohn leaked a trove of sensitive IRS data on Elon Musk, Michael Bloomberg and other billionaires – including major conservative donors – to ProPublica. The left-leaning news site used them to write a series, “The Secret IRS Files,” about how the rich use loopholes and tricks to avoid paying taxes. Congressional Democrats cited the series in their push for higher taxes on the wealthy.

USS Carl Vinson departs San Diego for Indo-Pacific operations

But U.S. 3rd Fleet declined to clarify the carrier’s deployment status to Navy Times, or when the ship and its strike group left San Diego, and no public notice was made regarding Carl Vinson’s departure.

“Carrier Strike Group 1, led by its flagship, USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), is currently underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet are[a] of operations,” U.S. 3rd Fleet public affairs said in a statement to Navy Times. “U.S. 3rd Fleet works together with our allies and partners to advance freedom of navigation, the rule of law, and other principles that underpin security for the Indo-Pacific region.”

While the strike group’s departure date has not been officially confirmed, the volunteer San Diego Web Cam group that posts live views of San Diego Bay on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, shared footage of the carrier heading out on Oct. 12.

Meanwhile, the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan is also conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific and pulled into port in Busan last week, after wrapping up maritime exercises with South Korea and Japan.

Small town in Democrat-run state removes POW flags citing town flag policy – and veterans are NOT backing down

In towns far and wide across the US, a black Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) flag can be seen waving proudly, typically just under the Stars and Stripes.

It flies as a reminder of the thousands of Americans who are still considered missing or captured from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf Wars. According to the Department of Defense, more than 81,000 names still appear on that list.

Now, one Connecticut town has decided to take the POW flag down from all city properties except one. City resident and Marine veteran Matthew Bowman is leading the charge to change that.

Bowman, who served in Vietnam, takes it personally. He remembers how he and his fellow Marines were treated when they returned home from being captured as prisoners of war in Vietnam.

(POLL) US voters back Israel and support ‘eradication’ of Hamas

That’s according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.

The survey found that 53% of likely U.S. voters believe that the Palestinians are mostly to blame for the conflict with Israel.

Only 10% think Israel is mostly to blame, while 24% say both sides are about equally to blame for the conflict.

Another 13% are not sure.

Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, said Monday: “Israel has no choice but to seek the complete eradication of Hamas in Gaza.”

Two-thirds (66%) of voters agree with that statement, including 41% who “strongly agree.”

The burned body of an Israeli boy was found Wednesday in the attic where he apparently hid from Hamas terrorists before they set his home on fire during the surprise attack that ignited the ongoing war, according to reports.

The slain child appeared to have been about 5 years old, the Times of Israel reported.

Volunteers with Israel’s Zaka International Rescue Unit reportedly made the grisly discovery while searching the ruins of Kibbutz Be’eri, 11 days after more than 100 people were slaughtered there on Oct. 7.

A woman’s body was also found in the house, Israeli journalist Hallel Bitton Rosen wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Russian Army Attacks Eastern Ukrainian City of Avdiivka, Ukraine Reports Heavy Russian Casualties

Moscow’s troops are seeking to seize the heavily defended town, which is a gateway to taking control of the Donetsk province, and are likely using “multiple armoured battalions”.

“Russia has highly likely begun a coordinated offensive across multiple axes in the east of Ukraine,” the MoD in London said in its Tuesday morning briefing.

“Russian forces in Donetsk are conducting a combined arms offensive on the heavily defended town of Avdiivka, which has been on the front line since 2014.

“The town is a major obstacle in preventing Russian forces from their wider objective of taking control of Donetsk Oblast.

“Russia’s attack is likely being carried out with multiple armoured battalions, which are attempting to envelop the town. It is likely to be the most significant offensive operation undertaken by Russia since at least January 2023.”

More US ships head toward Israel and 2,000 troops on heightened alert

(Andrew Vaughan/The Canadian Press via AP)

One U.S. aircraft carrier and its strike group is already in the eastern Mediterranean and a second one has left the U.S. and is heading that way. In addition, three Marine warships with are moving into the region.

Scores of aircraft were dispatched to U.S. military bases around the Middle East, and American special operations forces are working with Israel’s military in planning and intelligence.

The buildup reflects growing U.S. concern that the deadly fighting between Hamas and Israel will escalate into wider regional conflict. So the key mission for American ships and warplanes is to establish a large and visible presence that will deter Hezbollah, Iran or others from taking advantage of the situation.

A look at what weapons and assistance the U.S. military is providing:

Drone Attack on Base Hosting US Troops Intercepted in Iraq, Heightening Fears of a Broader Conflict

(AP Photo/Nasser Nasser, File)

Two drones launched at a base hosting U.S. troops in western Iraq were intercepted Wednesday, a U.S. defense official said.

Hours later, an Iraqi militia announced it had launched another drone attack on a second base. No injuries were reported in either incident.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iranian-backed militias, issued a statement afterward claiming responsibility for the two attacks and saying it “heralds more operations” against the “American occupation.”

The salvos came at a time of increasing tension and fears of a broader regional conflict in the wake of the latest Hamas-Israel war.

IDF Releases Audio of Hamas Admitting Hospital Strike

“Islamic Jihad struck a Hospital in Gaza—the IDF did not. Listen to the terrorists as they realize this themselves,” IDF posted Wednesday on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Israel said its radar and an independent video depicted a misfired rocket barrage that caused a large explosion as it hit the Al Ahli Arab Hospital.

In the recording, IDF translations says one person is heard asking, “Is it from us?”

“It looks like it,” someone replies.

The purported members of Islamic Jihad then are heard acknowledging that the missile’s shrapnel “are local pieces, and not Israeli shrapnel,” from rockets fired from the “cemetery behind the hospital.”

Jewish Synagogue in Berlin Firebombed with Molotov Cocktails

Maja Hitij/Getty Images

Assailants threw two Molotov cocktails early Wednesday at the synagogue in the center of the German capital, police said, as antisemitic incidents in the country have been rising following the violent escalation in the Middle East.

“Unknown persons threw two Molotov cocktails from the street,” the Kahal Adass Jisroel community wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Dozens of police officers were investigating in front of the synagogue in the city´s Mitte neighborhood, and the entire street next to the building was cordoned off and blocked for traffic.

Police said they were investigating “an attempted serious arson” in which two people approached the synagogue by foot at 3:45 a.m. and threw two Molotov cocktails, which burst on the sidewalk next to the building. The two people, their faces covered, ran away.

World Leaders Incite Riots Against U.S., Israel by Spreading Hamas Lies on Hospital

Mobs also took to the streets in Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, Iraq, and — of course — Iran, whose government supports Hamas.

The facts, which emerged overnight, showed that it was likely a rocked launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror group had misfired and landed in the hospital parking lot, causing fewer casualties and doing little damage to the hospital itself.

But leaders like Canada’s Justin Trudeau did not hesitate, declaring that “it’s not acceptable to hit a hospital,” as if Israel had actually done so. As Breitbart News’ Simon Kent noted, many other leaders, and news agencies, also repeated Hamas’s claims.

Egypt, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority blamed Israel and pulled out of a meeting with President Joe Biden, in which they were supposed to discuss ways to help Palestinian civilians. Other Arab governments also suggested Israel had been at fault.

In the U.S., Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) claimed that “Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that.” Her accusation helped fuel outrage — and gave it undue credibility, coming from a U.S. leader.

Evidence: Palestinian Terrorists, not Israel, Hit Hospital in Gaza

IDF

Evidence has emerged, from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as well as independent (and even hostile) media, showing that it was an errant Palestinian terrorist group’s rocket, and not an Israeli airstrike, that hit a hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday evening.

Video, radar, maps, media coverage of the impact cite, and an intercepted call between two Hamas operatives all suggest that a Palestinian group’s rocket, launched near the hospital, misfired and hit the parking lot, causing a fire and apparent casualties.

Anti-Israel activists on X/Twitter seized upon social media statements by pro-Israel “influencers” as proof Israel was to blame.

The earliest reports from official Israeli sources were that the IDF was investigating the explosion, and that it looked like the hospital might have been hit by an errant Hamas rocket — a frequent occurrence, given the rockets have no guidance systems.

Later, the IDF stated definitively that it had concluded that the hospital had been hit by a Palestinian rocket — not fired by Hamas, but rather by Iranian-controlled Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a smaller group that is fighting alongside Hamas.

The deep-pocketed donors each cut six-figure contributions to the Biden Victory Fund – a joint fundraising venture that consists of Biden’s campaign, the Democratic National Committee (DNC), all 50 state Democratic parties and Washington, D.C.’s Democratic committee – between July and September.

The structure allows wealthy benefactors to donate up to $929,600 each per election cycle.

Joint fundraising committees have gained traction with both political parties in recent years, enabling donors to contribute far more to one entity, which then takes the cash and showers it among the groups involved in the endeavor.

As it harbored Hamas, Qatar spent $1 billion-plus trying to influence U.S. education, politics

The Persian Gulf state of Qatar, which has reportedly given support and safe haven to Hamas leaders and empowered Web sites to flourish that promote anti-Israel sentiments, has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in recent years shaping U.S. opinion and the American education curriculum, according to lobbying and donation records review by Just the News.

Since at least 2016, Qatar has spent $77 million hiring 29 foreign registered agents to influence U.S. policy – one of the largest lobbying fleets among Middle Eastern countries, according to the Justice Department Foreign Agent Registration Act database.

That database shows some of Washington D.C.’s most powerful and influential law firms and Public Relations outfits have taken millions of dollars to promote Qatar’s interests, including Holland & Knight and Mercury Public Affairs, LLC.

The country also has handed out about $1.6 billion since June 2020, and $5.4 billion in total under Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, in donations and contacts to American universities ranging from Harvard to George Washington University, according to the Higher Education Gifts and Contracts database maintained by the U.S. Department of Education.
