House Democrats’ website exposed hundreds of applicants with ‘top secret’ clearances

In what a researcher described as a “gold mine” for foreign adversaries, a database containing the personal details of more than 7,000 people who applied for jobs with Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives was left exposed on the public internet.
More than 450 of those applicants, according to Wired, hold “top secret” security clearances in the federal government.
The exposed database was discovered by a security researcher in late September. The researcher declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter, Wired reported.
The database was linked to a service known as DomeWatch, used by House Democrats to host, among other things, a job board, a congressional events calendar and video streams of House floor sessions.
The researcher alerted the House of Representatives’ Office of the Chief Administrator to the exposure on Sept. 30 and received a short message in response: “Thanks for flagging.”
The database was quickly secured. It remains unclear for how long it had been exposed and whether any unauthorized access had taken place.
In a statement to Wired, the researcher said that although the database did not contain résumés, it did include information such as applicants’ biographies, military service details and security clearances. Personal data, including names, phone numbers and email addresses, was also present.
“Some people described in the data have spent 20 years on Capitol Hill,” the researcher told Wired. “From the perspective of a foreign adversary, that is a gold mine of who you want to target.”
The vast majority of the applicants — about 6,300 — described themselves as Democrats, while just 17 said they were affiliated with the Republican Party. More than 250 listed their political affiliations as “independent” or “other.”
Roughly 4,200 of the applicants had prior experience working in Congress.
“This research was not targeted toward any political party or affiliation,” the researcher said, “It was just finding data, realizing that it could be vulnerable and thinking of all the ways that not just criminals could use it, but foreign adversaries. It shouldn’t be exposed.”…
Agents search Rep. Ajay Pittman’s office, home amid forgery and embezzlement investigation

Newly filed court affidavits describe how state investigators obtained warrants to search Rep. Ajay Pittman’s Capitol office and her Midwest City home as part of a criminal investigation into alleged misuse of campaign funds.
According to filings in the Oklahoma County District Court, Attorney General investigators executed search warrants Oct. 16 at the Oklahoma State Capitol and at a residence in Midwest City, where Pittman and her mother, former state Rep. Anastasia Pittman, are believed to live.
The affidavits, signed by an Attorney General’s Office agent, say there is probable cause to believe Pittman committed forgery, embezzlement and violations of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act tied to her 2024 campaign account.
Investigators allege Pittman submitted forged cashier’s checks and falsified documents to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission while under a prior settlement for improper campaign spending from earlier election cycles.
Investigators said Pittman provided the Ethics Commission with a fake $2,500 cashier’s check dated Jan. 27, 2025, from Sovereign Bank to show she was making payments on a $35,000 restitution agreement. Sovereign Bank later confirmed to investigators that the check was never issued.
In another incident, investigators say Pittman emailed the commission a letter claiming campaign records were destroyed in a flood at her office. Metadata from that Microsoft Word file allegedly showed it was created on her mother’s computer the same day it was sent…..

Duffy Pulls $160 Million More In Federal Funding From California Over CDLs For Illegal Immigrants

Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said on Tuesday he was pulling an additional $160 million in federal funding from California over the state issuing commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) to illegal immigrants, warning that revoking the state’s ability to issue those licenses was on the table.
The Transportation Department accused California on Thursday of ignoring stricter guidelines for non-citizens applying for CDLs issued in September after an illegal immigrant driving a tractor-trailer killed three people in an accident near Ontario, California, on Oct. 21 while allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.
Duffy told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night that the department was conducting a “quick review” of the state’s failure to comply with regulations in the aftermath of the fatal wreck.
“One guy who’s decided to up his game is [Democratic Gov.] Gavin Newsom [of California], the podcaster, and he is… doesn’t seem relatively ambivalent with the truck driver [who] doesn’t speak the language [who] ended up killing some people over the weekend. You are withholding funds from California,” “Fox and Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade observed to Duffy, who responded, “We have withheld $40 million because they weren’t enforcing the English proficiency requirements. You gotta speak English, you gotta understand road signs, you gotta be able to talk to law enforcement. If you get pulled over or there is a crash, law enforcement has to be able to communicate with you. So, $40 million for that.”
“Then there is a requirement that, an option, that you could come from Wisconsin to California and get a non-domiciled CDL. It was for Americans. The Democrats have contorted the law to allow people who are in the country… unlawfully, to get these licenses,” Duffy continued, with Kilmeade cutting in to add, “Who failed the test ten times.”
After a deadly August accident allegedly caused by an illegal immigrant who attempted to make an illegal U-turn on a Florida highway that left three people dead, the Department of Transportation tightened guidelines for issuing CDLs to non-citizens. The illegal immigrant reportedly failed an English proficiency test given by investigators and was unable to identify three out of four traffic signs.
“They are getting the licenses now from other parts of the country and they’re issuing the licenses against the law and so I’m going to pull another $160 million from Gavin,” Duffy said, with Kilmeade responding, “Really?”
“That’s just the start. There is millions more,” Duffy said. “We can actually revoke their ability to issue commercial driver’s licenses.”….
Dems vote for 13th time to keep government closed, halt SNAP benefits — as Majority Leader Thune proposes easy fix

Democrats on Tuesday voted for the 13th time to keep the federal government shut — as Senate Majority Leader John Thune told The Post there was an easy fix to ensure millions of Americans won’t lose access to SNAP food payments.
“The simplest way to end it and the simplest way to make sure that people are getting the food assistance they need is to pick up the bill and give us five votes,” Thune said in an exclusive interview as the Senate failed to reopen the government in a 54-45 vote.
“And we’ll, we’ll send it to the president. It’ll be signed into law,” he continued.
“Everything opens up, everybody gets paid and SNAP recipients get their benefits.”
Nearly 42 million Americans receive SNAP benefits to help them buy food, but monthly payments will not go out on Saturday, Nov. 1 because of the ongoing government shutdown.
The benefits, also known as food stamps, help about 1 in 8 Americans buy groceries using debit cards loaded each month by the federal government. The average payment is $350 per household.
Roughly 83% of households that receive SNAP benefits either have children, or an elderly or disabled person living there.
The Department of Agriculture’s shutdown plan had initially included possibly using contingency funds for SNAP — but the department updated its website last weekend to indicate no benefits would be issued on Saturday as scheduled….

Brazil: 20 dead, including police, in major Rio drugs raid

A large-scale narcotics operation against the Comando Vermelho, or Red Command, crime syndicate in Rio de Janeiro led to 56 arrests, 18 dead suspects and two dead police officers, the state government said on Tuesday.
“We stand firm confronting narcoterrorism,” Governor Claudio Castro wrote on social media as he announced the operation.
He said that 2,500 security personnel were deployed across the impoverished and densely populated Alemao and Penha favela complexes on the outskirts of the Brazilian city, near the international airport.
“So far, we have 56 arrests and 18 criminals neutralized,” Castro told a press conference later in the day. “Regrettably, police officers were also among the dead.”
State police later issued a higher number of arrests, at 81, also saying that one suspect collared was the “right-hand man” of “one of the leaders” of Comando Vermelho…..

Biden Judge Releases Man Who Ordered $45K Hit On Pam Bondi

A federal magistrate judge appointed during the Biden administration earlier this week released the anarchist accused of posting a bounty targeting Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The judge, Douglas Micko, allowed Tyler Maxon Avalos to be released from a Minnesota federal prison as long as he does not travel outside the state and undergoes GPS monitoring.
Avalos was arrested on Oct. 16 after allegedly posting a $45,000 bounty on Bondi, alongside an image of her with a target symbol over her head.
Authorities were alerted to the threat on Oct. 9, describing it as a murder-for-hire scheme.
The post included the caption, “*cough cough* when they don’t serve us then what?”
According to prosecutors, Avalos’s TikTok profile used an anarchist symbol in place of the letter “A” in “Wacko.” The page also featured a link to “An Anarchist FAQ Book,” according to Law and Order.
An FBI affidavit detailed Avalos’s lengthy criminal record, including a 2022 felony stalking conviction and a 2016 felony third-degree domestic battery.
He was also charged in April 2016 with misdemeanor domestic assault, which was later upgraded to felony domestic assault by strangulation.
Under Micko’s order, Avalos must avoid alcohol, surrender any weapons, stay away from the internet and comply with a daily curfew while awaiting further court proceedings.
Micko was appointed to the bench by the district judges of the District of Minnesota in April 2023, replacing Judge Kate Menendez, who was elevated to a higher district court position by President Joe Biden. …
WATCH: Off-Duty Deputy Takes Out Alleged Cop Killer Riding a Motorcycle on California Freeway
An off-duty San Bernadino County Sheriff’s deputy in a Toyota Camry took out an alleged cop killer who was fleeing police on a motorcycle around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
NBC News noted police were called around 12:30 p.m. regarding a man reportedly threatening a woman with a gun. An off-duty deputy, 28-year-old Andrew Nunez, responded to the call and was shot and killed.
The shooting suspect then fled the scene on a motorcycle. FOX 32 noted that a chase ensued “hit triple-digit speeds on the 210 Freeway.”
The chase ended when another off-duty deputy in a Camry drove “into the bike’s path on the 210 Freeway in the city of Upland.”
The alleged cop killer is expected to survive.
Nunez, the deceased deputy, was a six-year veteran of the sheriff’s department who leaves behind a two-year-old daughter and another baby was on the way.
Report: Gavin Newsom’s Prostitution Shield Law Creates Sex Market Full of 12, 13-Year-Old Girls in Downtown L.A.

“For the 77th Street Division, which covers the northern half of the Figueroa Corridor, prostitution had always been a problem. But in recent years, the officers had seen the magnitude of child sex trafficking explode,” says the article, written by reporter Emily Baumgaertner Nunn.
Gangs that had long sold drugs began to take advantage of Figueroa’s lucrative opportunity. With a dozen girls, one trafficker could easily make $12,000 a night. “Drugs are sold once and gone forever, but girls can be resold indefinitely,” said [police sergeant Alvaro] Navarro, who had been in the division for two decades. Motel owners who noticed the parades of customers but feared the gangs’ retribution kept quiet.
But the Democratic-run state has cut funding for cops and handcuffed their efforts to pull young girls — some aged 12 — from the sex-trafficking street, the newspaper noted:
As trafficking grew, the means to deal with it shrank. In 2021, the Police Department’s central human-trafficking unit was disbanded following budget cuts, leaving each division fewer resources to tackle the problem. According to Navarro, the 77th Street Division was supposed to have six investigators at Armendariz’s rank in its vice unit. Instead, she was the only one.
Their jobs grew even more challenging when California repealed the law allowing the police to arrest women who loitered with the intent to engage in prostitution. The repeal, known as SB 357, was intended to prevent profiling of Black, brown, and trans women based on how they dressed. But when it was implemented in January 2023, the effect was that uniformed officers could no longer apprehend groups of girls in lingerie on Figueroa, hoping to recover minors among them. Now officers needed to be willing to swear they had reason to suspect each girl was underage — but with fake eyelashes and wigs, it was nearly impossible to tell. One girl told vice officers that her trafficker had explained things succinctly: “We run Figueroa now,” he said.
“By the end of 2023, the city attorney had taken to calling Figueroa the Kiddie Stroll because so many of the girls weren’t even 13,” the newspaper wrote….
College advisor allegedly strangles girlfriend to death, sets home on fire with newborn inside: officials

A college financial aid advisor in New York is accused of strangling his girlfriend then lighting their shared apartment on fire, leaving authorities to find her 4-day-old baby dead.
Kidane Haile, 30, allegedly strangled his girlfriend, Kathleen “Katie” Carrig, 29, to death on Oct. 18 at their apartment in Buffalo, New York, according to a news release by Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane. Officials said that after allegedly killing Carrig, Haile set the apartment on fire, according to BTPM.
Noah Carrig, the couple’s 4-day-old son, was also found dead at the apartment. His death is still under investigation, Keane said.
According to WIVB, Haile was a financial aid advisor at the University at Buffalo. The university said in a statement it doesn’t comment on personnel matters.
“The University at Buffalo extends its heartfelt condolences to those who are grieving the horrific loss of loved ones this past weekend,” the University at Buffalo said. “The university is aware of the serious charge against Kidane Haile. Although the university cannot comment on specific personnel matters, UB has a robust disciplinary process in place to address instances where an employee may have engaged in criminal activity.”
A judge ordered Haile to be held without bail during an arraignment hearing.
“We are saddened by the tragic death of this young mother and her newborn baby. While this case remains an active investigation, my office has secured an indictment against this defendant who is accused of intentionally killing his girlfriend prior to the fire. We are committed to a thorough examination of the evidence and anticipate filing additional charges against the accused. My thoughts remain with the family of these victims as we continue to seek answers and justice,” Keane said.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu orders ‘immediate and powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “immediate and powerful strikes” in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after an Israeli military official told Fox News that Hamas violated the ceasefire.
The official said the terrorist group attacked Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers in Rafah.
“Following the security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed the military echelon to carry out immediate and powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip,” Netanyahu’s office said Tuesday.
Hamas responded by saying that it will delay the handover of a hostage body, according to The Associated Press.
Tuesday’s incident comes after two IDF soldiers were killed by terror operatives in Rafah earlier this month, Israeli military sources previously confirmed to Fox News Digital on Oct. 19. The soldiers, identified as Major Yaniv Kula, 26, a company commander in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, and Staff Sergeant Itay Yavetz, 21, a combat soldier in the same battalion, were both based in Modi’in-Maccabim-Reut.
According to an initial IDF investigation of that incident, a militant cell had emerged from a tunnel and fired at an excavation vehicle, killing the two soldiers. A reserve soldier was also severely wounded and evacuated to a hospital, per The Times of Israel.
In response to that attack, the IDF launched air and ground strikes across southern Gaza.
“The IDF also struck and dismantled six kilometers of underground terrorist infrastructure, using over 120 munitions. The underground site was used by the terrorist organization to advance attacks against the State of Israel,” it said in a statement…..
Whistleblower warns illegal immigrants are sending ‘shockwave’ through crucial industry

Following several high-profile, deadly auto accidents involving illegal alien truck drivers, a commercial trucking industry leader is blowing the whistle on the devastating “shockwave” illegal drivers carrying sanctuary state licenses have had on the industry.
Mike Kucharski, co-owner and vice president of JKC Trucking, which is based in Illinois, told Fox News Digital that in addition to endangering American roads, illegal alien commercial drivers have been “killing the trucking business.”
He said that though the problem has only recently been brought to the forefront of the public consciousness in recent months, drivers and trucking businesses have been feeling the impacts for years.
“We knew there was an issue right after COVID because the rates dropped down, and we just thought, ‘OK, look, it’s just inflation… the wars, et cetera, all these aspects causing the volumes to be down. We’re thinking, ‘OK, in the long run, these volumes will go back up to what they were pre-COVID conditions or just go back to regular volumes, and we’ll be back in business.’ But what happened? The complete opposite happened,” he said. “They went down and stayed down, and we never knew, as truckers, what was the problem.”
Now, with recent revelations from the Trump Department of Transportation and Secretary Sean Duffy about rampant illegal alien truckers on American roads, Kucharski said the truth is finally out.
Duffy issued a bombshell report on Thursday accusing California of violating federal law by issuing a commercial driver’s license to a foreign asylum seeker whose semi-truck crash killed three people last week.
The report alleges that Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration ignored a federal order to halt noncompliant licenses and revoke improperly issued credentials, a failure that, according to Duffy, cost “three innocent souls.”…
Young woman’s naked body found stuffed in green duffel bag, dumped on NYC sidewalk

The body of a naked young woman was found stuffed in a duffel bag and dumped in a decaying section of East Harlem — where locals say they desperately need more police, cops and sources said.
A neighborhood worker was clearing debris under Metro-North railroad tracks at 125th Street and Park Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday when he made the grisly discovery and notified MTA police, locals told The Post.
“This is the second time I know of them finding a dead body over there,” Smokey Rodriguez, who does sanitation work in the area, said Tuesday. “Me, personally, I work here since 2018 and I’ve seen people on drugs, falling over, hitting their heads, going into seizures, and dying.”
Rodriguez, 25, said the spot is typically overrun with the homeless and is a dumping ground for trash.
“They need to have more cops patrolling the area. Even with MTA police, they need more. They need more NYPD, especially in blind spots where people can’t really see when it’s dark,” he said, adding that it was a co-worker who found the body.
“This concerns me. There are kids around here. They have to live in this area knowing there is so much dangerous stuff going on.”
Heavy Russian cargo plane lands in Caracas amid US-Venezuela tensions

A Russian transport aircraft of a type linked to the country’s military and former Wagner mercenary group has landed in the Venezuelan capital over the weekend, signaling heightened Russian interest in the Latin American country.
The Ilyushin Il-76 transport aircraft with the registration RA-78765 arrived in Caracas on Sunday after a two-day journey that took it from Russia via Armenia, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal and Mauritania to Latin America, flight records show. It appears the aircraft embarked on its trip from an airport in the greater Moscow area, with the transponder signal first being picked up shortly after takeoff.
The multi-stop journey is emblematic of the circuitous routes used to avoid Western airspace or possible cargo inspections in unfriendly countries. It is also possible that deliveries or pick-ups were made along the way.
Russia has a military presence in Algeria, maintains an industrial footprint in Senegal, and relations with Morocco are cordial. Russian mercenaries have also been present in Mauritania, crossing over from neighboring Mali. Stopping in Russia-friendly countries in West Africa also allowed the aircraft to refuel before crossing the Atlantic.
An Il-76 can transport up to 50 tons of cargo or up to 200 people. Aircraft of this type are known to have delivered small arms, military supplies and even mercenaries on Russia’s behalf in the past.Larger deliveries, such as an S-400 air defense system, would likely require several trips….
UK Report: Abortion Pill Complications Linked to 54,000 Hospitalizations

Since 2020, over 54,000 women have been hospitalized from abortion pill complications within the U.K., a recent report found.
In 2020, the U.K. introduced the “pills-by-post” legislation, which allowed women to receive prescription abortion drugs by mail after a telephone consultation. Since its introduction, hospitalizations from abortion complications have increased yearly.
The report analyzes the official numbers published by the National Health Service (NHS) England and the Office for Health Improvement & Disparities. Between 2020 and 2021, 8,618 women had hospital treatments from abortion complications.
The numbers increased by over a thousand each year, except for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 periods, which remained relatively steady in the 12,000 range. On average, nearly 11,000 women were hospitalized yearly from such complications.
Kevin Duffy, the former director of pro-abortion organization MSI Reproductive Choices, conducted the analysis on the NHS report. Duffy, who abandoned the pro-abortion agenda and became a pro-life researcher, has repeatedly spoken on the dangers of the abortion pill.
“From about 2015-2016, MSI began to emphasize a strategic push towards self-managed medical abortion, supplying abortion drugs through pharmacies,” Duffy said. “I was never a supporter of this, preferring instead for women to receive, what I considered at the time, comprehensive care in-clinic. Across the abortion sector, there were and are many reports raising concerns that increasing numbers of women are presenting with incomplete abortions at facilities after self-administering abortion pills which they had bought in the local drug shops.”…
California Pours $140 Million into Planned Parenthood in Bid to Become Abortion Stronghold

As conflict over the abortion drug escalates around the country, the Golden State is bolstering abortion within its own borders — to the tune of nearly $150 million. California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) announced Thursday that his administration will be allocating over $140 million in “state investments” to support “critical health care centers and access points to life-saving care and treatment for millions of Californians.” The beneficiary? Abortion behemoth Planned Parenthood.
“California is a reproductive freedom state, and this latest investment continues to show our belief in protecting access to essential health care in times of distress,” Newsom said in a press release. He pointed to President Donald Trump’s signature piece of legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill, which prohibits federal Medicaid reimbursements for the abortion industry, as the impetus for his decision. “Trump’s efforts to defund Planned Parenthood put all our communities at risk as people seek basic health care from these community providers,” Newsom claimed.
“The Planned Parenthood affiliates in California are grateful to Governor Newsom and our allies in the Legislature for taking this necessary step to keep Planned Parenthood health centers open and able to provide critical services as they weather the impacts of the federal defund,” Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California CEO Jodi Hicks added. Referring to abortion as a “constitutional right,” Hicks continued, “While we know Trump and Republicans’ attacks on reproductive health care are escalating, we remain confident that our state leaders will continue to stand with Planned Parenthood patients and providers and ensure they have the support necessary to endure these ongoing assaults.”
According to the governor’s office, Planned Parenthood and its affiliates operate over 100 abortion facilities throughout the state, netting “more than a million patient visits a year…” The governor’s office also boasted of its record supporting abortion since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Here are some of the highlights:
