Report Claims Scientists Lied To Pentagon Officials Regarding Coronavirus Research In Wuhan

Documents recently revealed that American researchers concealed their intentions to conduct high-risk coronavirus research in Wuhan, China, from the Pentagon back in 2018.
Reportedly, the Wuhan Institute of Virology and U.S. scientists collaborated on the research proposal, which was named “Project DEFUSE,” sparking questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic’s origins.
According to the report, the virus experiments were “proposed to occur in part in Wuhan with fewer safety precautions than required in the US — apparently to save on costs.”

El Paso County Sues Texas After Abbott Gives Police Authority To Arrest Illegal Migrants

At the bill’s signing, Gov. Abbott expected that the bill would be challenged in court, but he outlined the legal justification that would allow the state to defend itself from the ongoing invasion of both illegal migrants and drug cartels.
“The authors of the United States Constitution foresaw a situation when the federal government would be inattentive to states that faced charges at their borders,” Abbott explained. “And in response, they inserted Article One Section 10 to the United States Constitution to empower states to take action to defend themselves. And that is exactly what Texas is doing.”
The legal challenge came after Monday saw a record-breaking number of migrants crossing into the United States. “Per CBP sources, there were more than 12,600 migrants encountered at the southern border in the last 24 hours, the highest single day total ever recorded,” Fox News’ Bill Melugin

In Eagle Pass, Texas, a ground-level video reveals an unprecedented influx of thousands of migrants awaiting Border Patrol processing after illegal crossings.

Welfare Use by Immigrants and the U.S.-Born

Illegal Immigrant Welfare Use Matters. Beyond just the direct impact on public coffers of illegal immigrant use of welfare, their use of these programs shows that many illegal immigrants are struggling in the United States.
It also means that the current influx of illegal immigrants that has caused this population to increase dramatically in the last 2.5 years has profound implications for public coffers.
This is especially true because a large share of those released into the country have been granted parole. Parolees are “qualified aliens”, which means they generally have the same welfare eligibility as new permanent legal immigrants. After five years, this becomes full welfare eligibility with the exception of SSI, which requires 10 years of work

Yemen: Houthis Sentence Woman to Death

(Beirut) – Houthi authorities have sentenced a human rights defender to death based on charges of espionage and “aid[ing] the enemy,” Human Rights Watch said today.
On December 5, 2023, the Specialized Criminal Prosecution in Sanaa, which has been controlled by the Houthis along with much of northern Yemen since 2014, convicted and sentenced to death Fatima Saleh al-Arwali, a 35-year-old human rights defender and the former head of the Yemen office of the Arab League’s Union of Women Leaders, on charges of collaborating with the enemy—in this case, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
She had no legal representation at the trial, and her family has only been able to contact her twice from detention since she was arrested in August 2022.

The announcement came just days after South Korea and Japan said they had scrambled fighter jets in response to a joint patrol by Chinese and Russian aircraft.

It said the fleet included a guided-missile destroyer and three frigates with air defence and anti-submarine missiles.
Japan, South Korea, U.S. begin sharing real-time data on North Korean missiles

“The launch of the real-time sharing mechanism will make it possible to share missile warning data among the three countries on a continuous basis,” their defense chiefs said in a statement. “This marks a new page in defense cooperation among our three nations.”
The three partners also jointly established a multiyear plan for trilateral military drills, part of a November agreement reached by their defense chiefs as Seoul, Tokyo and Washington seek close security ties to better defend from and deter North Korea’s growing nuclear and missile threats.
The statement said the multiyear joint exercise plan “will enable the three countries to conduct their training in a more systematic and efficient manner by regularizing it in the future.”
UN to Vote on Gaza Ceasefire; US Expected to Join Global Call for a Halt to Fighting for First Time

AUN vote Tuesday is expected to mark the first time since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks that the U.S. joins other nations at the world body in calling for a halt to hostilities.
Officials said a draft resolution has watered down language — altered from “ceasefire” to “suspension of hostilities” — aimed at securing U.S. approval.
If the measure passes it would constitute the UN’s strongest unanimous call on Israel to ratchet down its all-out war in Gaza.
The Security Council is expected to vote around midday on Tuesday on a resolution drafted by the United Arab Emirates, also a U.S. ally, that would call for a longer halt in fighting to let aid into Gaza and call on Israel to refocus its military strategy to eradicate Hamas.

How A Left-Wing Appeals Panel Is Rigging Trump’s J6 Case Through Bogus Fast-Track Process

District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan has done everything in her power to speed up the process for one of the complicated cases Democrats have filed against former President Donald Trump.
Whereas the standard federal fraud and conspiracy case takes about two years to get to trial, controversial Special Counsel Jack Smith and Chutkan have worked in concert to get the trial started in March, a breathtaking seven months after Trump’s indictment.
Likewise, D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Florence Pan is doing her part to assist the effort to give Trump far less time than other defendants to prepare for a trial against him. Last week, she led a panel to fast-track an appeal in order to facilitate Smith’s goal of securing a quick conviction before one of Washington, D.C.’s notoriously partisan juries.
