FBI may have ‘misclassified’ Biden investigation documents to keep evidence of family’s crimes a secret, Grassley claims
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has demanded the Justice Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence release a trove of documents that were apparently “misclassified” to “downgrade” alleged wrongdoing by former President Joe Biden’s family.
In a Monday letter, Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) revealed that records obtained by Grassley’s office indicated the FBI “misclassified information” to obstruct congressional inquiries into Operation Round River, a bureau task force that compiled derogatory information on Joe and Hunter Biden in the lead-up to the 2020 election.
“To-date, the available records cause serious concerns about how federal law enforcement and the Intelligence Community used its resources to downgrade allegations of criminality relating to the Biden family apparently without sufficient investigation,” Grassley and Johnson wrote to Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel and Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton.
“The records also cause concern about how federal records were stored and managed,” the lawmakers added.
The letter referenced an undated email from a FBI supervisory special agent that mentioned “classification caveats” requested by the agency’s Office of General Counsel “based on past experience with Crossfire Hurricane,” the 2016 investigation into whether the Trump campaign illegally colluded with Russian officials.

Chauvin seeks dismissal of charges in bombshell filing alleging ‘unlawful’ and ‘fraudulent’ conduct
In a new bombshell court filing, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s attorney is seeking dismissal of the charges against his client, alleging “unlawful” and “fraudulent” conduct by Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
In a new 31-page court petition filed Tuesday morning, attorney Greg Joseph argues that Chauvin’s due-process rights were violated because a grand jury was never convened to review the charges.
“Hennepin County District Court Judge Peter Cahill presided over a year-long due process violation by failing to convene a grand jury to consider the State’s evidence at any point between the moment he was assigned to the case, and the verdict. He lacked jurisdiction over the charges, as this Court does, because they were never lawfully brought,” the filing says.
Joseph also argues that Walz’s appointment of Ellison to lead the case was itself unlawful. Ellison went on to add the more serious charge of second-degree murder to the complaint.
Notably, a Hennepin County prosecutor withdrew from the case against the officers and, according to court documents, “she (Amy Sweasy) also disagreed with a decision to add additional charges against Chauvin.”
“Because Hennepin County’s unlawful charges against Mr. Chauvin were not severe enough for the mob, Walz referred the case to Keith Ellison, who signed and e-filed a second unfounded complaint against Derek Chauvin that included the murder charge it wanted,” the petition reads.
Chauvin received two concurrent sentences: 22.5 years on state charges for second-degree murder of George Floyd, and 21 years on federal civil rights violations.
“It is impossible to assess the trial errors in State v. Chauvin because the entire trial was a fraud; it was based on unfounded charges that were never properly before the Court,” the petition says.
Joseph explained to Collin why this argument was never made before in other post-conviction relief efforts.
“In a very short period of time there were very fundamental and basic violations of due process. And those aren’t necessarily things that defense attorneys normally look for,” he said…
Several charged in sex trafficking ring including former assistant county attorney; Medicaid fraud also suspected
A former Anoka County assistant attorney is among four charged in Hennepin County in connection to a sprawling sex trafficking ring that reportedly operated for years and is linked to an alleged fraudulent Medicaid billing scheme totaling more than $1 million, in which a fifth person is charged in Ramsey County.
Charged in the sex trafficking scheme is Andrea Leigh Sampson, 35, of Fridley, who was working as an attorney in the Anoka County Attorney’s Office over the course of the operation, according to a press briefing held Monday by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
Also charged in the sex trafficking scheme are Frank Devon Reeves, 57, of Champlin, Viktoriya Sergeyevna Komonash, 30, of Eagan, and Katherine Michelle Thomes, 36, of Minneapolis.
Each of the four defendants is charged with 13 counts of promoting prostitution of an individual and 13 counts of receiving profits from prostitution for each of the 13 victims identified so far by law enforcement and prosecutors.
Charging documents describe how law enforcement, including the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), began investigating the organization in 2021, operating within Minneapolis, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and St. Louis Park.
Charges indicate the activity took place with various victims between 2019 and as recently as February of this year.
The criminal complaints state that Reeves and Komonash were active in recruiting and promoting commercial sex advertisements for numerous women and were responsible for setting rates and procuring apartments for sex transactions for the women.
Thomes owns an “erotica” website on which the various women have been “posted” for commercial sex transactions.
Thomes, Reeves, and Komonash are alleged to have collected money from the women, who are described as victims in the criminal complaints, when their ads were posted or “bumped” on the website.
Charges allege Sampson secured and provided locations for the commercial sex transactions to occur as well as assisted in creating and maintaining LLCs, appearing to be various shell companies to assist the operation in hiding and funneling the profits from the sex trafficking organization.
Properties owned by Sampson in south Minneapolis and Northeast Minneapolis were indicated as sites where photographs of victims were taken for their commercial sex ad postings and where commercial sex transactions occurred.
Another address on Main Street Northeast was also repeatedly mentioned as a location for commercial sex transactions, as well as an address on 13th Avenue Northeast….
Judge orders unsealing of ‘damning’ new Epstein-Maxwell case documents
A large amount of “damning” new evidence against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his imprisoned accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell could soon come to light after a federal judge ordered a trove of case files to be unsealed.
Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown, whose reportage is credited with catalyzing the disgraced financier’s downfall, wrote on her Substack Tuesday about Manhattan Federal Court Judge Loretta Preska’s decision to unseal the “voluminous” documents
The documents stem from a 2015 court case in which Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide last year, sued Maxwell for defamation after she accused her of fabricating sex-trafficking allegations against Epstein and others, including former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Brown wrote she and The Herald fought a nearly decade-long court battle to have the documents released, arguing that they weren’t properly sealed.
The case was settled in 2017.
“Judicial records by law are supposed to be open to the public. In this case, the former judge (Robert Sweet, now deceased) issued a blanket sealing on all the documents because they contained “sensitive” and “private” information,” Brown wrote.
“Sweet placed a protective order on massive amounts of material, including hearings and judicial decisions made in the case — and voluminous evidence that Virginia presented to show that Epstein and Maxwell were operating an underage sex trafficking operation,” she continued.
“This is not the way sealing is supposed to happen, however. Each document that the lawyers want sealed has to be examined, and those requesting it be sealed must provide legal justification to the judge for doing so. This wasn’t done in this case.”
Maxwell, 64, last week attempted to stall the release of the materials but was smacked down by Judge Preska, who said the “Epstein Files Transparency Act superseded any earlier grand jury arguments that Maxwell was using to keep the records from the public,” Brown wrote in the Substack post featured by Mediaite.
Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison term after she was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking.
Epstein killed himself in his jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting a federal sex trafficking trial in Manhattan.
Teen girl survives horrific sexual assault attack on walk to school
Police found and arrested the suspect, 30-year-old Jose Ramirez Zurita, with the help of surveillance video and witness statements.
They used what’s called a Ramey warrant, a special type of arrest warrant a judge can issue in the state of California before prosecutors file charges.
Salinas cops were seen taking Zurita into the jail as he sported a hoodie and long black hair.
The attack is believed to have been random, as Zurita had no known connection to the victim. The teen’s identity was not released.
Police are asking the public for any information or if anyone has had a similar encounter with Zurita. Those with information are asked to please contact Detective Dorantes at 831-758-7148.

Melania Trump reunites 34th child with family after displacement in Russia-Ukraine war
First Lady Melania Trump has facilitated the reunification of another Ukrainian child with their family after being displaced by the Russia-Ukraine war, marking the sixth round of reunifications, which have now helped a total of 34 children.
The White House announced the successful homecoming on Monday.
“There is nothing more powerful than reuniting a mother with her child after an extended period of time,” stated the first lady. “My representative and I are focused on helping facilitate the next reunification of individuals who have been separated from their loved ones because of the war between Ukraine and Russia.”

Accused peeping tom caught on woman’s camera arrested
A Maryland man accused of repeatedly peeping through a woman’s bedroom window and stalking her in Alexandria, Virginia, has been arrested.
Fairfax County police said Landon Anthony Taylor, 42, was located and arrested Friday in Rockville, Maryland. He is charged with two counts of peeping and one count of stalking.
Report: DACA Illegal Alien Accused of Raping Teen in Idaho
An illegal alien, granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by the Obama administration, is accused of raping a minor in Meridian, Idaho, a new report details.
On August 11, 32-year-old illegal alien Jose Alberto Moreno Cortes was arrested by the Meridian Police Department and charged with felony child sexual battery involving lewd or lascivious acts on a minor who is 16 or 17 years old.
Police allege that Cortes had been communicating with the teen through texting and, eventually, they met up where he sexually assaulted the teen.
This week, Border Hawk News exclusively reported that Cortes is an illegal alien from Mexico whom the Obama administration gave DACA status in November 2013.
“Illegal aliens who claim to be recipients of DACA are not automatically protected from deportations,” a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official told Border Hawk News.
“DACA does not confer any form of legal status in this country. Any illegal alien who is a DACA recipient may be subject to arrest and deportation for a number of reasons, including if they’ve committed a crime,” the DHS official said. “From January 20, 2025, to July 31, 2026, nearly 90% of DACA recipients arrested by ICE were charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S.”
Cortes was previously convicted three times for failure to purchase. He now remains in Ada County Sheriff’s Office custody on a $1 million bail.
Trump Administration Plans to Deploy 1,000 Poll Monitors Across America for Midterm Elections
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said officials are training the monitors with material previous administrations used and they will watch for issues that include suspected election fraud, the Washington Examiner reported Tuesday.
Dhillon noted, “We just did it in the primary. We will do it to the tune of approximately 1,000 election monitors in the November election. This is something that DOJ does.”
A recent survey from Tea Party Patriots Action found a majority of general election voters back the SAVE America Act, which would require voters to show ID prior to casting their ballot in federal elections, according to Breitbart News.

Palm Beach County clerk arrested on child sex abuse charges
Caruso, 67, of Riviera Beach, was appointed to the position by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2025. Before that, he spent seven years as a legislator in the Florida House of Representatives.

DeSantis said Tuesday that he has suspended Caruso from his position.
Caruso is facing five felony counts including kidnapping, luring or enticing a child, lewd or lascivious molestation, lewd or lascivious exhibition, and child abuse (mental injury), according to the governor’s executive order of suspension.
Caruso will be held in the Orange County jail without bond pending his first appearance. Uthmeier said more charges are expected as the investigation continues.
